"Alright troops. Listen up." Carmelita said sternly. "It's time for us to initiate a final plan of attack."
"Hey, Carmelita-" Neyla began but was cut off.
"Quiet, Neyla! We don't have time for your smart remarks! We gotta hit Raleigh before he can finish... whatever it is he's trying to finish."
"That's kind of what I was going to ask..." Neyla grumbled as Ben gave his wife a pat on the back.
"Look, it's pretty simple. We need to get into that castle. We got the explosives..."
"I was going to bring that up too."
"Not another word, Neyla!"
"Sheesh, don't talk to my wife like she's still backstabbing you, Dearest Sister-in-Law," Ben said with an annoyed huff as he hugged Neyla close.
Carmelita sighed as she turned to Galleth and Lester. "Galleth, do you think we can plant your explosives on the bridge controls?"
"Zounds! This plan rings true!"
"Okay, everyone, get ready to move out. After that bridge comes down, we'll have to get in there fast." Carmelita said, finishing the operation rundown.
"May I say one thing, darling. I miss the part about what we do when we get inside?" Sly pointed out as Carmelita sighed at her husband's words.
"We'll have to improvise."
"Sounds good to me."
Bentley, Murray, Jing King, and Penelope used Sir Galleth and Lester's explosive bulbs to bring down the castle drawbridge. With that out of the way, everyone made their way inside to find Sir Raleigh in his Black Knight suit.
"Ah, Cooper, how delightful to see you and the human again." The Frog Beastkin chuckled. "How long has it been? Three or four years since you left me to ROT IN PRISON?!"
"If it were up to any of us, you'd still be there!" Carmelita said, aiming her shock pistol forward as Raleigh merely laughed in amusement.
"Le Paradox did me a great service in liberating me. And thank goodness for that mouse girl, who was so generous as to let us steal her original blueprints from under her nose!"
Penelope fumed. "You slimy little...!"
"With the blueprints, we were able to replicate the time machine in order to fuel our shared goal; OBLITERATING THE COOPER LEGACY!" Raleigh triumphantly declared. "And also, I was able to get so much done here with the spare designs I had leftover."
"Well, what'll happen when you succeed in erasing Cooper History?" Ben asked. "Are you just gonna let Clockwerk terrorize the world as he pleases?"
"Oh, Clockwerk, truly a remarkable fellow. Of course, I didn't exactly enjoy the fact that he used me as an ally in getting rid of Cooper's father...but look at it this way, when you no longer exist, you won't have to worry about that!"
"You talk big, you amphibious knave! I'll sally forth and smash that mechanical monstrosity of yours!" Sir Galleth said as he drew his sword and lunged forward but Lester quickly caught his friend with a Jack-in-the-Box glove.
"Galleth, you fool! That's what he wants! He'll swipe your cane out of your hands!"
Sir Galleth stopped as he realized his friend had a point. Raleigh merely chuckled as he closed the compartment of the cockpit in his Black Knight suit.
"Long ago, I thought squashing you by bloating to gargantuan size would have been the way to eliminate you...now, I know better!"
The Black Knight backed up and then entered a giant knight mech which loomed over everyone as they got on guard. Raleigh cackled as he worked the controls before firing lasers at everyone.
"Scatter!"
Everyone took cover as Raleigh cackled in mad delight as he continued firing lasers everywhere. Lester and Ben quickly noticed glowing cores on the spiked pauldrons of the knight mech and looked at each other with a nod.
"Looks like we know what to do."
Lester cupped his hands and sent Ben up to a perch, where he could aim at the core with a sniper rifle built into his bionic arm. Raleigh noticed Ben aiming for the cores of his pauldron and erected laser shields but there were holes exposed in them.
"Drat! I knew I should have tweaked those before you arrived!"
"Too bad for you!" Ben smirked as he shot both cores, destroying the pauldrons as Raleigh cried in frustration, the chest core of his mech being exposed as Sly smirked and took out a bow he had been using for one of the previous missions to fire an explosive arrow into the core, dealing massive damage.
"AH! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!" Raleigh screamed as his mech unleashed rockets everywhere. Jing King erected a fire barrier to protect herself and Murray while Neyla tackled Carmelita out of the way. Penelope and Bentley were a safe distance away with Brie, Sir Galleth providing cover for them with a shield.
"We gotta take out those arms for good, you guys!" Penelope said as she sent her RC Chopper into ther air to distract Raleigh. This gave Ben and Sly the openings they needed to shoot wire arrows into both arm cores and then destroy them with arrows and explosive rounds respectively.
"AAAAHHHH! HOW DARE YOU!"
Now exposed, Sir Galleth turned to Lester and grinned as the latter grabbed the former and spun him around to pick up momentum before throwing him into the chest core, Sir Galleth using his patented Catapult Crash to completely smash the core.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Raleigh screamed as his mech collapsed facefirst, completely destroyed.
The Black Knight managed to pull himself out of the mech and trudged towards the Cooper Gang as they gathered together to face him down.
"Do you have any idea what that suit was worth?! It was one of a kind!" Raleigh snapped. "You've cost me too much already, Coopers! It's time to pay the fiddler."
"You're right, it is," Ben said as he fired a wire from the wrist of his bionic arm, which connected to the Black Knight's armor. Before Raleigh could react, Carmelita used her shock pistol as a makeshift conductor to send electricity through the wire, shocking the fiendish frog violently as he screamed, his suit falling apart and crushing him inside.
"Is he okay?" Murray asked as Sly walked over and picked up Raleigh out of the junk pile. The villain was battered and bruised but thankfully alive.
"Yup. Let's take him with us so we can send him back to prison in the present day."
*SLY POV*
After taking down Raleigh's operations, we contacted Dimitri, who started in about Sandstorms and Camel Spit. Well, we finally deciphered enough to realize it was my ancestor Salim Al-Kupar who was in trouble now. Which meant, we needed to get to Ancient Arabia on the double.
This time Carmelita provided a solution. Back when she and Interpol were scouting Le Paradox's museum, she'd manage to pocket a gold coin as evidence. And our luck held as it turned out the antique gold piece was exactly what we needed.
As we bid farewell to Sir Galleth and Lester, we knew that we needed everything we got to put a stop to Le Paradox's scheme once and for all.
