A/N: Finally, we have the next chapter of "Pokémon the Series XD: Gale of Darkness". And there are a couple surprises in store (or at least one). What I can tell you, though, is that Patrick Seitz will portray his role as Ghetsis (the way he did for "Pokémon Generations") seeing as he first appeared in the end of the last episode. :)

Chapter 4: A Shockingly Cold Reception
Act I
Serena was introduced to Fennekin, Chespin, and Froakie.
"Before you make your decision, this is your Poké Dex. Here.", Professor Sycamore spoke before he gave Serena a Poké Dex.
"Wow, Professor. Thanks very much.", Serena thanked before her Poké Dex beeped.
"It's on.", Serena said in surprise.
"If you point your Poké Dex towards a Pokémon, it will search for it automatically. Why not give it a try?", Sycamore asked.
"Okay.", Serena agreed before she walked to a Fennekin, allowing her Poké Dex to analyze it.
"Fennekin, the Fox Pokémon. Fenniken expels hot air that can reach nearly 400 degrees. It likes to snack on twigs.", Serena's Poké Dex stated as Fennekin made a cute sneeze.
"Amazing! And your next.", Serena said as she went to Chespin next and analyzed it.
"Chespin, the Spiny Nut Pokemon. Chespin can flex the soft spikes on its head, making them so stiff and sharp that it can even pierce through stone.", Serena's Poké Dex stated as CHespin's spikes got sharper for a moment.
"I get it. And finally...", Serena began before she analyzed Froakie last.
"Froakie, the Bubble Frog Pokemon. From its chest and back, Froakie creates bubbles called frubbles, which act as a cushion and soften the blow of an opponent's attack.", Serena's Poké Dex stated.
"Wow! This will come in handy.", Serena grinned.
"Like it?", Sycamore asked.
"Yes.", Serena replied.
"Well, then. Go ahead and pick your partner.", Sycamore encouraged.
"Aw. They're all so cute, but I already made up my mind. You see, I knew who I wanted before I left the house. Fennekin, I pick you. I'm Serena.", Serena greeted as she went over to Fennekin.
"Fenne...", Fennekin grinned.
"A pleasure to meet you, Serena.", Professor Krane said, stepping forward.
"Professor Krane?", Serena asked.
"That's right. And I have some things I'd like to show you.", Professor Krane said.
Later, Serena was in the lab with Fennekin as Professor Krane showed her two things.
"Wow... What are those?", Serena asked.
"Well, this, for one, is a snag machine. It detects a Shadow Pokémon under the trainer's possession and allows you to snag it.", Professor Krane said.
"Shadow Pokémon? What are those?", Serena asked.
"Fenne?", Fennekin added.
"Well, Shadow Pokémon are those whose hearts are sealed away by scientific means. It's awful to think what could've happened that turned them into Shadow Pokémon. And this is where the second invention comes in. Of course, it's still in development. But when it's finished, you need to bring any Shadow Pokémon you find and battle with enough times to that machine. It'll take care of the rest.", Professor Krane explained.
"Really? What's that thing called?", Serena asked.
"Well, I guess the name says it all anyway. So..., It's called the Purification Chamber.", Professor Krane explained.
"A Shockingly Cold Reception!"
Meanwhile, Ash and the others were having a sort of snack break in the forest, not knowing that Dedenne was spying on the group, although Mew noticed Dedenne.
Narrator: Michael, Jovi, Ryoga, Miruto, Clemont, and Bonnie have joined Ash and his friends as they begin their journey to compete in the Kalos League. Now, are our heroes are happily on their way to the Santalune City Gym.
"Mew?", Mew puzzled as it tilted its head.
Bonnie was then cleaning Pikachu's face.
"There. All done. You're nice and clean.", Bonnie assured before Pikachu shook its head.
"Pika, Pika.", Pikachu grinned.
"That's awesome! Thank you!", Ash grinned.
"Aw, you don't have to thank me. I love doing this kind of stuff, cause I love Pokémon.", Bonnie responded.
"Really?", Amber asked.
"Yeah.", Bonnie replied before Mew went over to Bonnie.
"Meeeeeeewwwwww.", Mew said, nuzzling Bonnie and making her giggle before Mew then floated up.
"Mew.", Mew spoke next as it then landed on Bonnie's head.
"I think Mew wants you to pet it next, Bonnie.", Brock guessed.
"What a cutie pie! Okay, Mew! You're up next!", Bonnie said before she pets Mew by the head, making it beam brightly as Jovi giggled.
"Looks like fun, let me try.", Clemont requested before he gently rubbed across Mew's back as well.
"Can I pet it next?", Jovi asked.
"Mm-hmm.", Bonnie grinned before Jovi then rubbed Mew's head, making Amber grin.
"Hey, Ash! Can you let Fletchling out? I wanna take care of it.", Bonnie requested as Burmy watched from the tree with Mew then floating over to it, puzzling it before Mew giggled.
"Okay, Fletchling. Come on out!", Ash shouted before Fletchling appeared out of the Poké Ball.
"Hey, Fletchling, do you mind if I clean your wings?", Bonnie asked before Fletchling agreed and had its wings brushed.
"Wow, you're good at that too.", Misty grinned.
"Yeah. From what I heard, Fletchling loves having its wings clean.", May added.
"Piplup feels the same way with its flippers.", Dawn added.
"Piplup.", Piplulp agreed, making Bonnie excited and happy.
"Taking care of Pokémon makes you really happy, doesn't it?", Clemont asked.
"Yup!", Bonnie grinned just as Dedenne peeped out from a root and scoped out the scene.
"Here.", Bonnie offered, giving a piece of Pokémon food to Pikachu, who ate it.
"Well? Is that yummy Pokémon food?", Bonnie asked.
"Pikachu.", Pikachu responded before Bonnie took another out and tried to give it to Pikachu only for Dedenne to jump up out of nowhere, grab it, and start eating it.
"Mew?", Mew puzzled.
"Could that be the very same Dedenne?", Clemont asked.
"Yeah, the one who ran away!", Bonnie realized.
"Yeah, but this one came back...", May said in surprise.
"It must've been following us this whole time.", Ash guessed.
"Yeah, I wonder why.", Dawn agreed.
"I guess it's because it must've wanted to know us more.", Amber guessed.
"Or maybe it was just hungry.", Max guessed.
"Like she asked, know-it-all.", Miruto retorted.
"Har-har. Very funny.", Max said flatly.
"Come on, Clemont, catch it please!", Bonnie pleaded.
"Alright.", Clemont responded.
He was about to catch Dedenne, but it ran off.
"Come back!", Bonnie shouted.
"Fletchling, follow it!", Ash urged before Fletchling followed Dedenne.
"Dedenne, wait!", Bonnie exclaimed.
After a moment, Fletchling stopped and searched everywhere.
"Did you lose it, Fletchling?", Ash asked.
"Fletch. Fletchling.", Fletchling responded.
"Well, that's just great. It's gonna be like finding a needle in a haystack.", Miruto groaned.
"Dedenne? Where are you? Come out, come out, wherever you are.", Bonnie spoke up before she suddenly slipped on a hole and landed on the back of her head.
"Hey, Bonnie!", Ash and Clemont shouted before Bonnie recovered and saw Dedenne.
"There you are!", Bonnie shouted before trying to catch it, but to no avail as Dedenne appeared in each hole and disappeared just the same one at a time.
"Hey! Wait!", Bonnie shouted.
"Guys, look! That hole isn't the only one. Dedenne must've been making them.", Michael guessed.
"So, that means it might be in any one of them.", Dawn guessed.
"Let's go look through them. It can't have gone far.", Ryoga responded before he and the others nodded.
"Bunnelby! Get Dedenne out of the hole!", Clemont urged before he threw his Poké Ball, summoning Bunnelby.
"You too, Pikachu!", Ash urged before Pikachu and Bunnelby ran forward.
"Mew!", Mew urged as it tagged along, searching through hole after hole.
"Over there! Come on!", Bonnie urged before the heroes looked at every hole where they could find Dedenne, but instead, found nothing.
"Over here?", Ash pondered at one hole.
"Maybe over there?", Misty asked at another.
"No, over here.", Clemont responded at another with Mew peeping out from the hole before giggling.
After that, Clemont grabbed Pikachu by mistake in a different hole.
"Ah-ha!", Clemont shouted before Pikachu zapped Clemont, making Dedenne laugh.
"That Dedenne sure is quick!", Ash commented.
"Yeah. Fast and then some!", Misty added.
"I want it now!", Bonnie exclaimed as Pikachu and Mew then went in through one of the holes as Amber noticed this.
"Hey, wait up!", Amber said, transforming into her Mew form again before she went down the same hole Pikachu and Mew went in.
When it did, Amber spoke to Dedenne.
"Wait! Don't run. We just want to be your friend.", Amber said before Pikachu and Mew agreed, trying to convince Dedenne.
However, it refused, prompting Pikachu to try to tackle Dedenne with Mew and Amber holding Pikachu back by the tail before they wound up falling down out of the hole, rolling over, and crashing in the grassy field.
"That was close. Are you guys okay?", Amber asked.
"Pika...", Pikachu responded as it, Mew, and Dedenne looked up, seeing a hole they just fell out of, with the latter running off, but Pikachu followed it and they communicated using electricity.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket was spying on them.
"There's Pikachu! And those Mews to go with it. Wait...! TWO Mews?!", Jessie stated.
"No way! And there's a bonus Pokémon too.", James added.
"Yeah, what is it?", Meowth asked before James scanned the screen and moved the image of Froakie, Inkay, Fennekin and then stopped to the image of Dedenne.
"Oh, it's a Dedenne. An Electric type.", James responded.
"Never seen one before.", Meowth responded.
"They're having a back and forward buzz fest.", Jessie guessed.
"Since they're both electric types, I guess there in the process of communicating.", James stated.
"Meowth, translation.", Jessie said in a bit of frustration.
"No can do. I don't speak electricity.", Meowth responded.
"What luck, the twerps are nowhere to be seen.", Jessie grinned.
"Perfect. His loss is our game.", James grinned.
Meanwhile, Bonnie noticed that neither Pikachu, Amber, Mew, nor Dedenne were here.
"I think they're gone.", Bonnie worried.
"Maybe it got away.", Clemont guessed, puzzling Bunnelby.
"Maybe. Pikachu, Mew, and Amber haven't come back either.", Ash guessed.
"Bunnelby, would you mind going back down looking for Pikachu?", Clemont asked before Bunnelby agreed went down the hole.
"Pikachu... Mew... Amber...", Ash said with a bit of worry.
"Don't worry, Ash. We'll find them.", Misty assured.
Meanwhile, Pikachu, Amber, Mew, and Dedenne were walking to find the others as Dedenne's stomach growled with Pikachu heading over to Dedenne and asking it what's the matter, finding out that it's hungry as a result.
"Aw. Sounds like you're hungry. We need to find some food for you.", Amber stated before she, Mew, and Pikachu spotted a few berries and unleashed a thunderbolt attack to cut one of the berries down while Mew and Amber picked the other 2 out and handed each berry to Dedenne, who was quite surprised by this kind act.
"Would those work?", Amber asked before Dedenne, touched by the kind act, then started to eat them.
"Hehe. Glad you like those berries.", Amber grinned.
Suddenly, though, an electric net appeared, but Pikachu, Mew, Dedenne, and Amber moved out of the way.
"What was that?!", Amber said in surprise before she, Pikachu, Mew, and Dedenne spotted none other than... Team Rocket!
"Prepare for trouble, my prized Pikachu!", Jessie grinned.
"And make it double, with Dedenne, too!", James added.
"To protect the world from devastation!", Jessie added.
"To unite all people within our nation!", James added.
"To denounce the evil of truth and love!", Jessie added.
"To extend our reach to the stars above!", James added.
"Jessie!", Jessie introduced.
"And James!", James added.
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!", Jessie added.
"Surrender now or prepare for a fight!", James added.
"Meowth. That's right!", Meowth added.
"Wobuffet!", Wobuffet added before the group of four went down.
"Now, Pikachu, be a polite Pokémon and let us catch you.", Jessie requested.
"Dedenne, please, you too.", James added.
However, Mew noticed one of the strange figures from earlier and then spoke out in fear.
"Mew! Mew, Mew, Mew!", Mew shouted.
"What's wrong?", Amber puzzled before she, Pikachu, and Dedenne looked up and saw none other than... Ghetsis!
"Pika?!", Pikachu exclaimed.
"Well, well, well. Who knew I would find lost Pokémon in this neck of the woods. What a fitting opportunity.", Ghetsis smirked before getting out a Dark Ball and enlarging it to actual size as it sparked out purple lightning, much to Amber's worry.
"Oh, no...! A Dark Ball!", Amber said in worry.
Play Pokémon US/UM Music: "Ghetsis"
"Kyurem, take them!", Ghetsis ordered as he tossed his Dark Ball out before it opened and then unfurled a black light with a light purple outline before it formed into none other than... Kyurem!
It then roared and launched a dark purple ice blast at Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne, missing them, although it created purple ice crystal spikes on the ground with a cold, misty air to them.
"Pika, Pika... Pikachu!", Pikachu urged before it, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne fled from Kyurem, who followed them in pursuit.
"Excuse us, Mr. Ghetsis, but they're OUR Pokémon you're poaching!", Jessie shouted.
"Right! And if anyone's going to steal them, it's going to be us!", James added.
"And nobody else, comprende?!", Meowth added before Ghetsis only glared at the trio with an icy glare.
"Get lost.", Ghetsis spoke coldly, surprising the trio.
"Sounds like that Pokémon isn't the only thing that's ice-cold...!", Jessie commented.
"And it's not just the atmosphere, either.", James added.
"It's like a blizzard with him.", Meowth added as Ghetsis walked to the direction Kyurem was going.
Speaking of which, Kyurem fired another Shadow Chill only for Pikachu to counter with its Thunderbolt for only a moment before it started freezing the Thunderbolt, prompting Pikachu to stop before the ice could spread further, allowing the tip of said ice to hit the ground, creating dark ice spikes as the four evaded said Shadow Chill, although not without getting knocked back forward by the force of the dark ice spikes growing. They managed to recover and keep fleeing, though, albeit with difficulty as Mew and Amber vanished to avoid direct hits with Shadow Chill and reappeared after dodging.
Stop Pokémon US/UM Music: "Ghetsis" (0:44)
Meanwhile, Ash and the others searched everywhere for Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne before suddenly getting a feeling col enough for them to shiver.
"Hey. When did it get so cold out here?", Ash asked.
"I don't know. It normally isn't supposed to at this time of year.", Dawn responded.
"Lup.", Piplup agreed.
"That's strange. How did the temperature change like that?", Misty puzzled before Bunnelby emerged from one of the holes.
"How did it go Bunnelby?", Clemont asked before Bunnelby only shook its head, saying, "No.".
"I guess you didn't find Pikachu and the others, did you?", Bonnie asked.
"I'm afraid Pikachu, Mew, and Amber might've got lost, wondering through all those tunnels.", Clemont worried.
"Clemont! We've just gotta find Pikachu and the others!", Bonnie urged.
"Fletchling, look for Pikachu and the others from the air.", Ash requested before Fletchling flew up to the air.
Resume Pokémon US/UM Music: "Ghetsis" (0:44)
Meanwhile, Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne were continuing to run from Kyurem.
"Everyone, up the wall!", Amber urged before she, Pikachu, Mew, and Dedenne went up the mountain just as Ghetsis caught up to Kyurem, who fired another Shadow Chill at them only to miss, abruptly causing Dedenne to fall down.
"Dedenne!", Amber shouted as it was about to fall toward Kyurem.
"Kyurem, use Shadow Chill and freeze that Pokémon solid!", Ghetsis ordered before Kyurem prepared to fire only for Pikachu to grab it by the tail before it, Mew, and Amber helped pull it back up in time, barely missing the Shadow Chill, making Ghetsis grunt in frustration.
"They dodged that attack!", Ghetsis exclaimed.
"That was close. Now, let's hurry.", Amber said.
"Mew!", Mew agreed before Pikachu, Mew, Dedenne, and Amber ran, but not before Dedenne began to smile and follow Pikachu, Mew, and Amber.
"Oh, no! If this keeps up, they'll get away! Or worse yet, that cold, self-centered Ghetsis could catch them before we do!", Jessie exclaimed.
"We can't let that happen! Okay, Inkay! Hey, hey!", James shouted as he threw his Poké Ball into the air and summoned Inkay.
"Now, tackle!", James shouted before Inkay launched itself toward Kyurem, catching it by surprise upon impact.
"What?", Ghetsis before Pikachu and the others noticed Team Rocket.
"Pika?!", Pikachu puzzled as Inkay floated toward Kyurem with Ghetsis glaring at it.
"All right, Inkay, Psybeam!", James ordered before Inkay fired Psybeam at Kyurem.
"Kyurem, use Glaciate!", Ghetsis ordered before Kyurem then used Glaciate on Inkay, knocking Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne into the river before Inkay, in the meantime, wound up frozen by Kyurem's Glaciate, but not before its Psybeam was neutralized by the freezing ice.
"Oh, no! Inkay!", James shouted.
"Talk about frozen squid!", Meowth commented.
"I give. Where's Pikachu?", Jessie asked before Meowth noticed Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne floating down the river.
"Down stream!", Meowth shouted.
"No!", Ghetsis exclaimed.
"They're getting away!", Jessie exclaimed.
"But I've got just the thing. Our rubber rocket raft.", James said before he threw out the device, which turned into a raft and landed in the water.
"That's some life saver!", Jessie said.
"Like me.", James smirked.
"Wobu, Wobuffet.", Wobuffet agreed before the trio went on the raft.
"Kyurem, after them!", Ghetsis ordered before Kyurem coated the mountain with ice step by step as it went up while Team Rocket went across the river.
"Keep your powder dry, Pikachu! You'll be ours in no time!", James smirked, cradling a frozen Inkay.
"I can hardly breath!", Jessie complained.
"So it's a little bit small. Deal with it.", James responded.
"Concentrate on finding Pikachu and beatin' Ghetsis to it!", Meowth urged before he and the two grunts looked around and then spotted Mew, Amber, Pikachu, and Dedenne getting up on dry land.
"Look! Pikachu alert!", Jessie shouted.
"Wobu...", Wobuffet added.
Unfortunately for them, the currents pushed Team Rocket away.
"Wait! Stop this bath tub! We floated right past!", Jessie urged as Mew spotted them.
"Mew?", Mew puzzled before it then noticed dark ice forming on the river.
"Mew-e!", Mew squealed before it then hurried over to Team Rocket.
"Strong current, eh, captain?", Meowth scolded.
"Aye-aye, Matey.", James added before Mew flew over to them.
"Mew! Mew, Mew, Mew! Mew, Mew, Mew, Mew! Mew, Mew, Mew!", Mew alerted.
"Wha?!", Meowth exclaimed.
"What's wrong?", Jessie puzzled.
"Mew says to look out behind us...!", Meowth spoke in fear before Inkay looked behind it first and alerted the trio upon seeing Kyurem, prompting the others to turn and see it roaring and unleashing a furl of dark ice spikes, covering the river in dark ice before a dark ice spike went up, poking the raft and causing it to pop and send them flying into the air.
Soon after, Kyurem stepped across the ice, looking for Pikachu, Mew, Dedenne, and Amber in the frozen river.
"Either we get those Pokémon as ordered or we freeze the entire Kalos region!", Ghetsis ordered as he moved alongside Kyurem, neither one knowing that Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne have made it to dry land.

Afterwards, Pikachu, Mew, and Amber helped carry an injured and exhausted Dedenne back to soft, grassy shore.
"Easy does it...", Amber panted.
However, Dedenne passed out on the ground soon after, shivering and leaving Pikachu and the others very worried.
"Oh, no. Dedenne!", Amber said in worry just before Ash's Fletchling arrived.
"We're over here, Fletchling! Go tell Ash and the others what happened!", Amber urged.
Sometime later, the heroes ran and finally found Pikachu and Serena.
"Pikachu! Mew! Amber!", Ash shouted before the three in question ran up to Ash.
"Ash, thank goodness you came!", Amber said in relief.
"I was so worried about you, guys.", Ash said .
"Me, too But there's someone in bigger trouble. Look!", Amber urged as she pointed to an injured and exhausted Dedenne, worrying the heroes greatly.
"Dedenne!", Bonnie shouted in worry.
Act II
"Dedenne. Dedenne.", Bonnie said in worry as Dedenne barely twitched its whiskers as Mew watched from the air curiously.
"Mew?", Mew puzzled.
"Now what are we gonna do? I'm scared.", Bonnie said in worry.
"What about the Pokémon Center?", Ash asked.
"I think we're too far away from it.", Dawn replied.
"That's why we should treat Dedenne right here. Let's give it some electricity.", Clemont advised.
"Electricity?", Bonnie puzzled.
"How do we do that?", Ash asked.
"Yeah. There's no energy battery for miles, let alone a storm cloud.", Brock added before Clemont chuckled.
"Just leave it to me. Remember, the future is now, thanks to science! Clemontic gear on! I've got the perfect machine for a situation like this, presenting my Electricity Generator!", Clemont introduced.
"Another boring name.", Bonnie groaned.
"So what do we do with it?", Serena asked.
"Well, observe. If you put a plastic clip under your arm and rub it like this...", Clemont began as he placed the red plastic clip on Bonnie's hair and made her hair stick up.
"The resulting friction causes the build up of electrons and creates static electricity. See?", Clemont asked.
"I get it. So that invention uses that same principle, which allows it to create a massive electrical charge.", Max realized.
"That's exactly right. And power on!", Clemont said before he pulled the lever, causing the machine to rub the plastic clip and the electricity to appear in the globe.
"Wow. Look at it go.", May spoke in surprise.
"Did you see the electricity?", Clemont asked.
"That's awesome! Science is so amazing!", Ash grinned.
"I wouldn't say 'amazing'. But it is working.", Dawn added.
"You sure this is gonna work?", Bonnie asked.
"Sure, I'm sure. Just watch.", Clemont assured before the electricity began to heal Dedenne.
Seconds later, Dedenne woke up.
"Hey, look. Dedenne's actually getting better.", Amber grinned.
"Great! I think you can turn it off now.", Ash grinned.
"One problem. I can't!", Clemont exclaimed, revealing that the switch was broken off, making Ash, Misty, May, Brock, Dawn, and Bonnie scream in horror.
"Dedenne! Get away quick!", Bonnie urged as the machine started to overload.
"You've got to stop that thing!", Ash exclaimed.
"I wish I knew how!", Clemont responded as Dedenne got away from the machine, which eventually exploded, creating an updraft of smoke.
Meanwhile, though, Ghetsis turned around to the sight of the sound and saw a smoke cloud coming from the ground.
"Someone is here.", Ghetsis stated.
Back at the forest, Mew moved in a bit closer and then giggled at the mishap.
"Oopsy. I guess it's back to the drawing board.", Clemont groaned.
"Yeah, look at my hair.", Bonnie groaned.
Then, the group saw Dedenne.
"All right! Dedenne's sure feeling a lot better.", Ash grinned.
"Thank goodness.", Misty sighed in relief.
"Wow. So, it both worked and failed at the same time. Who knew?", Max asked before Dedenne moved around in a circle excitedly.
"That's what counts. All's well that ends well.", Clemont grinned.
"Dedenne, I'm glad you're feeling all better now.", Bonnie grinned.
"Dedenne.", Dedenne grinned.
"I think it's saying thanks for the electricity.", Ash responded.
"Mm-hmm. And we don't even need Burst Hearts to know that.", Misty added.
"Oh, come on. You don't have to thank me.", Clemont responded.
"Clemont, Clemont! Catch it, catch it!", Bonnie urged.
"Hey, that's right. I totally forgot about doing that.", Clemont remembered.
"Hold it right there!", Ghetsis shouted.
"What?", Ash puzzled.
"Mew-e!", Mew squealed in worry.

"Those Pokémon belong to us!", Ghetsis shouted.
"Wait a minute! Ghetsis! This whole thing was your fault the whole time!", Ash realized.
"Ghetsis?", Misty, May, and Dawn puzzled.
"You know him?", Michael asked.
"Yeah. He was the leader of Team Plasma who tried to steal Pokémon away from their trainers and control Reshiram!", Ash responded.
"And you're the insipid brat whose Pikachu I could not control!", Ghetsis realized.
"It must've left a very bad taste in his mouth if he's that angry.", Brock guessed.
"Yeah. And the bad vibes I'm getting from him don't help either.", Ryoga added before Michael scanned Kyurem with the aura reader on his Snag Machine and gasped upon finding out that a dark aura was covering it.
"You turned it into a Shadow Pokémon, didn't you?!", Michael exclaimed.
"Another one?! Why are you guys always being so mean to Pokémon?!", Bonnie exclaimed.
"And why are you here?!", Dawn shouted.
"For one reason only: to liberate all Pokémon from their trainers! And having Kyurem as my Shadow Pokémon is the first step in doing just that.", Ghetsis smirked.
"Ambitious, are you?! Inkay, come on!", James shouted as he threw out his Poké Ball, summoning his Inkay.
"You three again...?!", Ghetsis growled.
"Team Rocket?", Ash puzzled.
Then, Dedenne stood up, ready to fight.
"Dedenne? You wanna battle don't you? So you can get back at them for what Ghetsis and Kyurem did!", Clemont realized before Dedenne agreed.
"Well, in that case, we'll go help it, too.", Misty smirked before May, Dawn, Max, Brock, Ryoga, and Ash nodded before they all activated their burst hearts and started transforming into Pokémon, much to Ghetsis' shock and Team Rocket's surprise.
"Oy vey, no way! They turned into Pokémon!", Meowth exclaimed.
"But how...? Wait a minute. Of course! It must be those gems that those twerps were holding.", Jessie exclaimed, remembering when Ryoga first transformed.
"And it looks like they got quite the boost.", James added.
Meanwhile, Ghetsis thought to himself regarding Ryoga.
"That power... How has he taken on the form of Zekrom itself...?!", Ghetsis thought as he growled angrily before shouting.
"Do you think this changes anything?! All you've done is made yourselves the targets of my liberation!", Ghetsis exclaimed.
"We beat you once, Ghetsis! We can beat you again!", Ashachu shouted in retortion.
"Count on it!", Mistyque added.
"Teddiursa, I choose you!", Michael shouted while releasing it from its Poké Ball.
"Ursa...?", Teddiursa said.
"Heh. A Teddiursa? This is too easy.", Ghetsis said.
"We'll see. Teddiursa, use Shadow Blitz!", Michael shouted, intriguing Mew with a squeal.
"What? Shadow Blitz?", Ghetsis puzzled.
"Uuuuurrrrsa!", Teddiursa shouted while using Shadow Blitz on Kyurem, knocking it back.
"Wow. Is that me, or did that hit Kyurem like a truck?", Ryoga asked in surprise.
"That was a lucky shot.", Ghetsis said before thinking to himself again.
"This...can't be! That Teddiursa was a Shadow Pokémon...? If so..., then that boy must be the one who snagged it...!", Ghetsis thought.
"Now's your chance, Clemont!", Michael shouted.
"Right. Dedenne, tackle from below!", Clemont responded before Dedenne ran toward Kyurem and jumped up.
"I don't think so. Kyurem, use Ice Beam!", Ghetsis shouted before Kyurem then fired an Ice Beam, hitting Dedenne and causing it to fall to the ground only for Mistyque to catch it.
"Are you all right, Dedenne?", Mistyque asked before it shook the excess frost off and spoke determinedly.
"As good as I'll ever be.", Dedenne responded.
"Now, Inkay! Psybeam, go!", James ordered before Inkay fired the Psybeam at Kyurem while it was distracted.
"What...?!", Ghetsis puzzled.
"Why are you helping us?", Ashachu puzzled.
"If anyone's going to steal your Pokémon, it's going to be us!", Jessie shouted.
"And only us!", James added.
"Yeah. We don't need Ghetsis steppin' on our toes!", Meowth added.
"Inkay, use Foul Play!", James urged before Inkay went toward Kyurem only for Ghetsis to shout his next command.
"Kyurem, use Outrage on that Inkay!", Ghetsis shouted before Kyurem then got mad and charged toward Inkay (who grew shocked).
"Ink...", Ikay spoke in surprise before Kyurem knocked it away toward the Balloon and hit it, causing it to explode, sending Team Rocket flying in the process.
"We're blasting off again!", Team Rocket shouted.
"Inkay...", Inkay groaned before a flash went off in the sky.
"Now, then... If there are no more interruptions... Finish this up with Blizzard!", Ghetsis shouted before Kyurem started using the move.
"Look out!", Bonnie urged before Dedenne dodged the Blizzard, leaving everything else frozen.
"Dedenne, tackle one more time!", Clemont urged before it went up and hit Kyurem, although it did less damage than Shadow Blitz did.
"Look at Dedenne go!", Dawn beamed.
"You're doing great! All right, now use Nuzzle!", Clemont shouted before Dedenne activated Nuzzle, zapped Kyurem, and paralyzed it in the process.
"Wow! That move's so cute, I like Dedenne even more!", Bonnie grinned.
"And better yet, Nuzzle paralyzes the other Pokémon!", Clemont added, making Ghetsis growl.
"No way!", Bonnie exclaimed in surprise.
"Smart thinking, Clemont.", Bronix grinned.
"Yeah, Dedenne! Way to go!", Ashachu shouted.
"It's not possible! I cannot lose! I won't accept defeat!", Ghetsis shouted as he raised and slammed down his sword-and-shield-like staff to the ground before Ashachu, Mistyque, Mayleaf, Bronix, Maxodile, Ryoga, Pikachu and Dedenne prepared to attack.
"'Kay, Pikachu! Let's finish it together!", Ash urged.
"Right, Ash!", Pikachu agreed.
"And Dedenne, use Thundershock!", Clemont added.
"All right, everyone! Together! NOW!", Ashachu shouted as he launched his thunderbolt while Pikachu and Dedenne launched both Thunderbolt and Thundershock.
"Flamethrower, go!", Mistyque shouted while spewing fire from her mouth.
"Razor Leaf, go!", Mayleaf shouted while launching several leaves.
"Rock throw!", Bronix shouted before he then grunted as he launched several rocks.
"Water gun!", Maxodile shouted before spraying water.
"All together, Mew!", Amber shouted as she and Mew started charging their Aura Sphere.
"Mew-e. MEW!", Mew shouted while launching Aura Sphere with Amber.
"Bolt Strike, go!", Ryoga shouted before enveloping himself in blue electricity.
Soon after, the combined assault quickly overpowered Kyurem, much to Ghetsis' shock as he gasped before Kyurem fainted, damaged from the attack, making him growl.
"Kyurem, return!", Ghetsis shouted as he got out his Dark Ball, causing Kyurem to turn into a black light with a light purple outline before it retreated back inside his Dark Ball, which sparked out purple lightning as Ghetsis growled.
"Fine. Have it your way. I'll retreat for now, but this isn't over. The liberation will come to pass!", Ghetsis swore before taking off.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going?!", Ryoga shouted before trying to go after him only for Miruto to stop him.
"It's okay. We'll get him next time.", Miruto assured.
"Pikachu, Dedenne, everyone! Awesome!", Ashachu grinned.
"Dedenne, you're the best!", Bonnie grinned.
"You did really great back there.", Mayleaf grinned.
"Mew.", Mew agreed.
"Thank you all!", Clemont added before Dedenne began to run around the heroes and then made electricity to communicate with Pikachu, who then used the same method again before they spoke to each other out loud.
"Dedenne really wants to come with us?", Ashachu asked in surprise.
"Not hard to see why.", Bronix responded.
"Yeah, really?! Yippee! We'll have so much fun! You'll see!", Bonnie exclaimed before Dedenne made sparkly eyes in awe.
"Pretty please?!", Bonnie pleaded.
"Yeah. Now it's time! Go, Poké Ball!", Clemont shouted before he threw his Poké Ball and caught Dedenne as it shook a few times before it clicked, confirming the capture.
"I did it!", Clemont began before he picked up his Poké Ball.
"Yes! Alright! I caught Dedenne and I'll be keeping it for Bonnie!", Clemont grinned.
"This is so cool, thank you! Hey, can you let Dedenne come out?! I want to take care of it!", Bonnie asked.
"Sure, I'll do it right now.", Clemont responded before he opened his Poké Ball, releasing Dedenne.
"Dedenne! Yay! Hi there, I'm Bonnie. And see, that's my brother Clemont. That's Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Ash. Oh, and those are his friends.", Bonnie introduced.
"Nice to meet ya!", Ashachu greeted before Dedenne spoke back in reply.
"Dedenne!", Dedenne greeted.
"Here.", Bonnie said before she laid down the ground.
"Let me get you cleaned up. You've got yourself all frosty from the battle.", Bonnie offered before she rubbed Dedenne's tail, which made it happy.
"Hey, look! Dedenne likes it when I pet its tail!", Bonnie grinned.
"You know, Pikachu likes being petted in the tail, too.", Mayleaf grinned.
"Really?", Bonnie asked.
"Wow, I've never would've guessed.", Clemont said in awe.
"You both looked the same thing. You two are just like twins!", Bonnie grinned as she petted both Pikachu and Dedenne's tails.
"Well, they are both Electric types, remember?", Serena responded.
"You're gonna have fun with Dedenne. Aren't you, Bonnie?", Ash asked.
"Yeah! Dedenne is so cute! Nuzzle, nuzzle, nuzzle!", Bonnie grinned before Dedenne then wound up zapping Bonnie with a heartfelt nuzzle, leaving Ash and Serena blushing with grins.
"Nuzzle is one of Dedenne's moves. I guess you've forgot.", Clemont guessed before the zapping stopped.
"Yep, and now I can feel it's like to be paralyzed!", Bonnie said before Dedenne yawned and went to sleep.
"It fell asleep.", Bonnie said.
"Of course, you see Dedenne tends to fall asleep a lot. That's just one of the things they do to concern their energy.", Clemont stated.
"Awesome! An energy saver!", Ash grinned.
"Okay, you can take a nap in here.", Bonnie offered before she put Dedenne in her bag and smiled just before Ashachu spoke.
"All right. Let's get going.", Ashachu whispered.
"Right, let's hit the road!", Clemont whispered.
"Yay!", Bonnie shouted before everyone else shushed her and giggled, as well as Bonnie and Mew before later walking away.
Narrator: And so after escaping Ghetsis's evil clutches, Pikachu, Mew, Amber, and Dedenne are safe, and Dedenne is back to perfect health. Following Clemont's catch, our heroes now have a new friend in Dedenne, as the Kalos Region journey continues.
Meanwhile, at night, a long, purple-haired girl was walking out by herself in the forest.
"Wow... So, this is the Kalos Region...? Who knew it has such great trees like Unova does?", the girl grinned before she jumped up, swung on a branch and hung upside down from it.
"I see you're enjoying yourself, Iris.", a voice spoke before she opened her eyes and saw a familiar, green, long-haired man with a necklace.
"N?!", Iris exclaimed before she slipped and fell on the ground.
"Ow...", Iris groaned before she stood up.
"Are you okay?", N asked.
"Yeah. I guess... So, do you know if there's a Pokémon Center around here?", Iris asked.
"Actually, it's just up ahead.", N responded.
"Heh. Well, that's lucky.", N grinned before she started swinging across the trees, leaping across them as well.
"Bet you can't beat me!", Iris shouted, surprising N before he grinned as he hurried along.
