The head of the headless horseman was returned and the puppet master was taken down into the pit of the tree of the dead. Katrina had finally felt safe for the first time in a day.
After this Ichabod had left with Young Masbath to New York, leaving Katrina behind. The reason he had left Katrina behind was that she said she needed to take care of family business. He said he would return for her as soon as he could.
Walked unto our world and made horrible sounds. I can still here them today. Strangely , they seem beautiful now though they out cast my love.
Ichabod said his good byes to Katrina and as he got into the carriage, she said, " I'll wait for you." They shared a kiss and then he was gone.
Still, each time I always meant every word, every one. Though in time they finally bent every word , every one. " I will wait for you," she said, " endlessly."
As ichabod and Young Masbath headed for New York, they discussed the events that took place in Sleepy Hollow and how they felt about it. Through the entire conversion , in Ichabod's mind ,the thought of Katrina's last words to him kept running through his head.
"I will wait for you." So spoke misery.
A week or two passed and Ichabod was able to present what happened in Sleepy Hollow. The only problem was that no one believed him. This discouraged him. He then decided to go back to Sleepy Hollow to retrieve Katrina.
I returned to you but found an empty home. The radio told me to stay. As it burned down I sang alone. You will outlast, my love. I have been waiting for you, biting as you taught me to. I have come to relieve you of life and love.
When ichabod and Young Masbath returned to Sleepy hollow they found Katrina dead.
