Adults. No matter what Yūji did, adults would always be displeased with her. When she was younger, when she didn't understand why her parents were so different than her grandparents, she strived to meet every adults expectations. It was a small incident that caused Yūji's hatred for adults to truly cement itself in her heart. Compared to everything she had been through, it was a small incident, and the incident didn't even bother her all that much.
It only happened... three years ago actually. Yūji was 12 years old and much more social with the other wealthy children of Japan. Though, out of them all, she only trusted one with her entire life. Atsushi, her best friend and platonic soulmate.
They were stuck together like glue. No one could separate them and no matter what kind of social event was happening, they attended them together. Wasuke even considered Atsushi a grandson, especially with the older boy practically living at their estate for most of the year.
It was an enormously pretentious, overly extravagant, and incredibly boring social party that the small incident had happened. Both Yūji and Atsushi were forced to attend, mostly for appearances. It was awful, but they could get away with sticking to each other and wandering around Atsushi's family penthouse instead of mingling with the guests. They were betrothed to each other, well at least from the rumors that they never denied or accepted as true.
They were wandering around after the required toast, both a little bit more than tipsy from all of the champagne they were pressured to drink. It was when they were in Atsushi's room did it hit them. Yūji could barely walk even with Atsushi's help with how much the world was spinning and managed to reach Atsushi's bed. Everything was spinning, yet moving in slow motion at the same time.
Yūji hears more than she sees Atsushi's door opening and closing. She hears Atsushi say something in a slurred tone of voice, then black. When she wakes up, Yūji was curled in Atsushi's arms, both naked, her legs sticky, and a tripod stand sitting in front of the bed.
An hour later, Wasuke was absolutely livid, Atsushi's parents were incredibly smug, Atsushi was angry, guilty, and sad, and Yūji was actually a bit shocked, incredibly upset for her best friend, and angry. His parents had a plan for this social party that could give them a better status in the world of wealth, and run Yūji's reputation and fame into the mud.
Atsushi's parents confronted Wasuke with a video on their phones when the old man came by to pick up Yūji. It showed an obviously drugged Yūji and a drugged Atsushi having sex the night before. Yūji was disgusted, to summarize, and she never truly felt disgust for anyone.
She wasn't disgusted by the fact that she had sex when she never consented, or that she had sex at all. It wasn't even the first time she had sex, so she wasn't disgusted or upset by that. She was disgusted by the fact that Atsushi's parents, parents that she knows are actually quite normal and loving compared to hers, decided that forcing children-one of which is their son-to have sex with each other and record as a sex tape and threaten to leak it to the public to gain a higher status, was the best way to go.
Yūji wasn't stupid. She knew this happened more often in society than many people would actually think. But for two relatively normal–even for a wealthy family–adults to have the idea of recording their son having sex and go through with it, for some fucking fame and status... It was the last straw.
Her grandparents, her servants, and a few extended family members were safe from her hatred. Yūji thought that these would be the only adults she would ever truly love and trust.
Then Gojo Satoru came around. When she realized he was more of a man-child than a true adult, the surprise went away. He was broken, but not shattered to pieces like she was. Ryōmen Sukuna didn't receive her hatred either, but Yūji thinks it's because he has a hatred for humans except for a select few. Yūji was suspicious of Yoshino Nagi at the beginning, but she reminded her too much of her grandmother and if Junpei still loved and trusted her even with his similar hatred to hers... well, she couldn't be that bad.
Nanami Kento was the one to truly surprise her, and continue to surprise her. He was everything a normal adult was, besides the fact that he was clinically crazy and a jujutsu sorcerer, and didn't even click with Yūji at all. He continues to underestimate Yūji since she is a child–to him–and doesn't seem to listen to the facts she tells him about herself.
Kento is an adult, something she hates. He underestimates children for being young, would rather die to protect a child than fight with a child by his side, stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that some children can't be recognized at children anymore, doesn't think that children understand how an adult is an adult... he's also kind in his own way, strong, understanding, impatient, wise, unbiased, handsome, calm, honest, caring.
He reminds Yūji of Atsushi and unfortunately, that reminder makes her think of the horrible death of her soulmate and best friend almost two and a half years ago.
Yūji growls at the mysterious giant sphere in front of her. Kento and Mahito were inside of it and it made her instincts go haywire. He was hers. No one harms what's hers. No one.
"Break it. I need to break it. Nanamin. He can't die. He can't die. He can't die," Yūji thinks frantically, placing her hand against the sphere. She growls again and backs up.
Minemineminemineminemine.
Yūji narrows her eyes and sprints towards the sphere. She pulls back her fist and releases a harsh breath. She slides to a stop right before the sphere and throws out her fist. It shatters through the sphere like paper.
"You can't harm him. You can't. I'm going to kill you. You can't harm him. He's mine." Yūji rips her fist out of the sphere and takes a step back. She breaks through the sphere and lands in a roll.
"He's mine." Yūji glares up at a wide-eyed Mahito. "You can't hurt him."
The scenery around them flickers back to Sukuna's domain. Sukuna sat on his throne, looking down at Mahito like he was a pest.
"For once in my life since before my time serving Ōhirume-no-Muchi, I feel pity for you, fool," Sukuna states with a smug smirk. He rests his chin on his palm, his eyes glowing crimson red.
Mahito feels his heart skip a beat as he looks past the throne. "How–she's–she's a curse! No. She's..."
Large freezing eyes of frostbitten gold glare down at him. A harsh breath of gold flames fans out, alighting the area around them. A majestic, beautiful Japanese dragon with glittering pink and a void of black scales sat above the shrine.
"...a God."
Sukuna chuckles and lifts two fingers. Blood suddenly spouts from Mahito's shoulder.
"You're not going to survive against my little vessel." Sukuna grins and chuckles again as reality flickers back.
Yūji stares with immense satisfaction as Mahito clutches his shoulder. The sphere around them crackles from the pressure before exploding into millions of shards. She stares at the kneeling Mahito with a narrowed gaze before she starts sprinting towards him.
"Y-Yūji?" The pink haired teenager looks up at the nervous call of her name. She sees Junpei standing at the door leading into the school. Yūji glances back at Mahito and sees him missing.
"You!" Yūji snarls, snapping her head towards a sewer grate. Kento was already racing towards it with a scowl.
Mahito waves a flimsy hand with a grin. "Bye-bye! This was fun!"
Yūji sprints forward with a growl. Kento slams his hand onto the grate, right as Mahito falls through. He tsks in annoyance when he sees the curse missing and stands up with his phone to his ear.
"Ino-kun, the core has escaped into the–Yūji-kun, wait!" Yūji leaps over Kento and grabs the edge of the sewer.
"Watch over Junpei! I'll be back," Yūji orders with a certain iciness to her tone that makes Kento pause. She releases her hold and falls down after the curse.
Mahito pants heavily as he slowly drags himself across the sewer pathway. His arm collapses right when he reaches a manhole, light shining in. A giggle leave this month as he slowly turns onto his back. He pushes himself up and sits up against the dirty wall.
"So that was the King of Curses, Ryōmen Sukuna. He's stronger than me right now, but... that presence..." Mahito bursts into a fit of insane giggles, staring down at his hand. "His soul's on a whole different level than even Jogo. I'm certain of it. Even if we're all wiped out, so long as Sukuna is resurrected, the age of curses will come."
A flash of terror runs through his spine and a snarl takes over his smile. "Itadori Yūji... She's a human pretending to be a God. Heh, and I thought it was that Gojo who had the God complex!"
"Right now, I want nothing more than to kill you, Itadori Yūji!" Mahito snarls with an insane grin, clenching his hand into a fist.
"You'll never be able to kill me, curse." Mahito snaps his head up at the echoing statement. He holds his breath, wondering–hoping–it was just in his head. Footsteps echo loudly throughout the sewer, each making the dread well up in the curse's stomach.
"Run. I have to run," Mahito thinks on complete instinct, trying to scramble up. He collapses to the ground with a pained wheeze and holds himself up by his arms. His breath stalls when he feels a gentle hand caressing his cheek.
"Did you not listen to what I said? I'm going to kill you after I make you suffer, curse," Yūji says softly, crouching down in front of Mahito. Her eyes were cold and her expression was blank as her hand starts to tighten around Mahito's jaw.
"Unfortunately, immortal beings don't have the same tolerance to suffering as mortals do, so your suffering is almost over." Yūji tilts her head, a sweet smile growing on her face. "But, I'd like to tell you something about your cursed technique. It's weak."
"It's–not–wea–" Mahito winces in pain as the grip on his jaw gets even tighter. Yūji continues smiling sweetly and leans closer.
"What you do to souls, it's an amateur skill at best. To most beings, souls are a diet. You'll never be able to truly master your technique, not only because you'll be dead, but also because I'll make sure your soul is never reincarnated. Fascinating, no?" Yūji says, glancing down at Mahito's chest. Her smile widens and she places her hand on Mahito's chest, over his heart.
"It's not a skill I use often. I don't have a need for it, mostly. Before the modern curses came into being, there was an ancient race of curses. Stronger, faster, smarter, deadlier. They were everything you can only hope to achieve."
Mahito coughs wetly and glances down with wide eyes when blood falls out of his mouth. "They're all gone now, killed off by the God Slayers, so we only have inferior curses like you to deal with. Which is unfortunate. Most of the Slaying Clans died off because they needed the malisons to survive. Or at least their souls."
Yūji lets her talons grow, piercing Mahito's chest. She rips out the skin easily, tearing through the ribs. Mahito tries to transform his body to heal it, but his lack of cursed energy stops him. Yūji hums softly as she shreds his heart.
"God Slayers were created by the blood of Gods, you know. We're made up of divine energy, yet we're still mortals. It's contradictory, but anything involving the Gods always is. Which is why we're one of the beings that needs to eat souls to survive," Yūji continues as if she wasn't causing unimaginable pain to the curse in front of her. She giggles as she forces her hand down towards Mahito's stomach.
"Most mortal souls won't do. Us God Slayers never really documented our thoughts on other types of society, so I don't know if a sorcerer's soul can satisfy my need. I never really knew curses–sorry. Modern curses–existed, so I'll have to experiment, with you. Other beings can work, but many will have to be massacred just to keep me alive for a month at most."
"Stop... Please." Mahito coughs up more blood and lifts up a hand. He weakly tries to push away the human–no, the monster–away from him, but his hand just slips and falls limp.
Yūji gasps in delight when she grabs something in between Mahito's stomach and pancreas. Mahito feels the familiar tug of his soul transforming and screams out in pain when Yūji tugs it out of its resting place.
"I've been holding off on that though. Glad I did too. This is the only way to stop the reincarnation of someone's soul." The pink haired teenager tugs up her hand again, making Mahito convulse from the pain. She tilts her head in curiosity and tightens her grip around the fragile thing. Mahito screeches out, almost making Yūji's ears ring from how piercing it was.
"Interesting. Curses can feel pain. A thing like you has feelings?" Yūji asks in slight awe before she completely rips her hand out of Mahito's chest. Mahito can't even scream when the unimaginable, impossible amount of searing pain courses through his body as his soul leaves it.
"Oh. Don't worry about dying just yet. You'll still be alive until I absorb your soul! It's quite painful, from what Ojīchan told me." Yūji releases the curse's jaw to hold the soul in both of her hands. Mahito collapses to the ground and convulses with his eyes rolled back into his head and his hands clawing at where his soul once sat. Yūji watches in amusement as he starts to dig into his own stomach.
Yūji holds up the soul to her mouth and hums in delight. Her stomach growls, making her smile a bit wider, looking more like a curse than a human.
"Thank you for the meal!" Yūji rips into the soul, making Mahito scream as he feels his insides get torn to shreds.
Hmph. The curses today really are weak.
"Gojo-sensei!" Yūji shouts brightly before she tackles her teacher into a giant hug. She smiles brightly when Satoru immediately hugs her back.
"Yūji-chan! What's with all the excitement? Did you miss me that much?" Satoru asks with a smile, making Yūji giggle as she looks up at him.
"Of course I did! But that's not the only reason!" Yūji breaks the hug and rushes back to the atrium of her estate. She grabs Junpei's hand and practically drags him into the hallway.
"I got you a new student! He's really strong!" Yūji exclaims with an excited gleam in her eyes, pulling a nervous Junpei up and in front of her.
"...hello... Y-Yoshino Junpei, sir," Junpei greets the white haired man shyly and keeps his gaze to his shoes.
"Oh?" Satoru tilts his head, genuinely surprised. "A new student? Did the higher-ups agree?"
"Probably not! Didn't ask them! Junpei got manipulated by a special grade curse and almost killed his school, but I managed to save Junpei and those assholes at that school. He only just started seeing curses about a week ago, but he's already so strong! He has a thing like Megumi-kun has and she's so cute! And poisonous," Yūji rambles on, jumping from one foot to the other. Kento slowly walks into the hall, looking around with only a raised eyebrow.
"It's venomous, not poisonous," Kento corrects without a glance towards Yūji, "but that doesn't mean you should go try and eat Orizuki."
Satoru stares at Junpei through his blindfold before grinning brightly. "Well, now I have four students to corrupt and influence! Welcome to the team, Junpei-kun!"
Junpei perks up with a bright gaze of disbelief. He looks at Yūji who just cheers loudly.
"R-really? I can–I can become a jujutsu sorcerer?" The brunette asks hopefully. Satoru grins and gives a thumbs up.
"Why not?" Satoru focuses on Yūji. "We'll deal with the details later. You needed to show me something, Yūji-chan?"
Yūji blinks once before her grin becomes even brighter. She reaches over and grabs Satoru's hand before racing out of her estate.
"Asai-san! I'm taking one of the older cars! Nanamin and Junpei are guests! Bye-bye!" Yūji shouts over her shoulder before slamming the door closed. She pulls the white haired man with her, still grinning.
"Let's go get some sweets as a celebratory dinner! I'll show you on the way! Is it okay if I drive?" Yūji states, looking up at her teacher.
"What's got you so hyper? Did you have caffeine?" Satoru asks instead of answering. Yūji takes his question as a yes and leads him into the garage.
"Nope! Ate a soul! I need to eat them to survive." Yūji turns on the lights, revealing rows and rows of all types of cars. "Don't worry. Most mortal–sorry, human–souls don't do anything for me. Just found out that a cursed spirit's soul does satisfy my need!"
"You ate a soul?" Satoru asks, surprisingly serious. Yūji gives him a look before nodding her head with a shrug.
"Mmhmm. It doesn't change anything about me. It'll probably be around a year or so before I'll need to eat another. There's a lot more complicated details about it, but that isn't what I want to show you." Yūji stops by a 1967 Chevrolet Impala and turns around. She lifts up her hands and lets her nails grow to their new original length.
"I didn't realize it until you gave me the second finger to eat after Ojīchan's cremation," Yūji turns her hands over and shortens her nails to a normal length, "but I had one of Sukuna's fingers in my vault here. I ate it when I came home to pack up some things."
Satoru stares down at the hands before gently grabbing them with his. He inspects the fingernails and hums in interest.
"There haven't been many cases of curse vessels. Documented at least. And the higher-ups refuse to believe that most vessels will start to change into the image of the curse they host," Satoru states normally, poking at one of the ends of the fingernails. He quickly pulls back his finger when it gets pierced by the fingernail.
Yūji nods her head again with a smile. "Sukuna told me about it. He said that that once he gets incarnated into another body, most of the changes should disappear. He wasn't sure about the stomach mouth though." Or if I'll grow a dick or not.
"You won't. More than likely," Sukuna says with an eye roll. Yūji pouts and gives him an internal glare.
"That doesn't make me feel better." Yūji focuses back on her teacher, looking up at him.
"Once he gets incarnated?" Satoru repeats with a wide smile. Yūji smiles back and shrugs.
"Do you honestly expect my execution to be able to kill Sukuna forever?" Yūji asks rhetorically, making Satoru bark out a laugh. He grabs Yūji's head with his hands and leans forward.
"We'll talk about that later. Was that all you needed to show me?" Satoru asks, staring straight into Yūji's eyes through his blindfold. Yūji giggles and raises her hands, grabbing his face. She tilts her head as a wistful smile grows on her face. She gently rubs her thumbs over Satoru's cheekbones with a soft sigh.
"Mmhmm. Let's go get some sweets! You can ask whatever questions you want, I didn't explain much." Yūji pulls back and turns towards the recreated car. Satoru stares at her for a moment before grinning brightly.
"Really? What's your size?" Satoru asks, making Yūji give him a small look.
"Gojo-sensei! You can't ask a woman that question casually!" She playfully scolds as she gets in the driver's seat. Satoru just smiles innocently and walks over to the passenger's side.
"What? I'm curious!" Satoru defends himself, making Yūji roll her eyes.
"17 or 19," Yūji answers, turning on the car. Satoru grins at the answer and closes the door after he gets in.
"Also, isn't this Impala from Supernatural?"
Yūji grins confidently before looking out of the rearview mirror. "Yep! Atsu-chan gave it to me for my 11th birthday. Hold on tight!"
"What do you mean by tha~aaat!" Satoru immediately grips the car door when Yūji speeds out of the garage.
Yūji laughs loudly at the joke Satoru just made, snorting at how hard she was laughing. She keeps her eyes on the road, glancing around the dark scenery outside. She suddenly feels Satoru wrap an arm around her waist before time goes in slow motion.
Everything she feels suddenly disappears as she watches her car explode around her. Her eyes widen and she snaps her head up at her teacher. He had a confident smirk on his face, but his shoulders were tense and the grip on her waist was tight.
"Gojo-sensei...?" Yūji asks worriedly before glancing around. They were surrounding by cooling lava, completely untouched.
"That was easier than I expected." Yūji narrows her eyes at the arrogant statement from somewhere outside the lava barrier she was in.
"Who are you–" the lava starts to recede and disappear, Satoru holding up his hand with two fingers raised "–calling easy?"
"Brat," A curse that looks like Mt. Fuji speaks in annoyance, rotating something that had replaced his ear. Yūji gasps in surprise and turns towards her teacher while she points at the curse.
"It's Mt. Fuji!" Yūji exclaims brightly, making Satoru grin down at her with a laugh.
"He is, isn't he?"
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING MT. FUJI BRAT?!" The curse explodes in a rage, lava spewing out of the mini volcano on his head.
Yūji giggles and tilts her head. "Do you think I ruined its pride? I didn't know curses had pride."
"Special-grade curses do, mostly because they're more intelligent than normal curses. Special-grades are classified as such, because they're special. Having them pop up this frequently throws everything off," Satoru summarizes with a small pout. Yūji pats his arm in sympathy, ignoring how the curse starts unleashing attacks on them that never hit.
"It makes it entertaining for you, at least!" Yūji points out with a smile, making Satoru smile back.
"Your optimism disgusts me, slut," Sukuna states with a deadpan expression. Yūji ignores him.
"Hm. Watch and learn, Yūji-chan! Gojo-sensei's giving you an impromptu lesson!" Satoru states brightly before the curse suddenly appears before them. Yūji watches with wide eyes of excitement when the multiple flying insects pop out of the curse's head.
"A lesson? No sense of danger at all!" The curse exclaims arrogantly. Yūji tilts her head in wonder, crouching next to Satoru as he gets in a fighting stance.
"It chose a place without any people. It probably wanted to see if I would switch with you if the lava got too much," Yūji comments to Sukuna with a slightly impressed expression.
"Ember insects!" The insects race towards Satoru.
"He didn't want any of those second-rate sorcerers to back up shitty glasses. Like they could do anything on that weak little curse," Sukuna insults with a sneer. Yūji chuckles internally and shakes her head in amusement.
"Well, if you're coming after me, you're right... about having no sense of danger." Satoru raises two fingers again, stopping the insects right before him. Yūji makes a small noise as she watches the road behind Satoru get completely decimated by the shockwave. Her hair is ripped out of its braid and flies everywhere.
"What happens if this hits me?" Satoru asks in a slight mocking tone. Yūji giggles before quickly covering her mouth.
The insects suddenly sprout mouths and starts to chatter loudly. Yūji tilts her head in confusion. Sound?
The insects suddenly explode, creating a large column of fire and lava right after Satoru wraps his arm around her waist again and leaps away. Yūji gasps in delight as she watches the beautiful destruction that the lava creates.
"A two-stage attack of sound and explosions? That's clever, isn't it Yūji-chan?" Satoru smiles down at the pink haired teenager, making her giggle. Her hair continues to flies in her face and makes her brush it away as she grins up at her teacher.
"Mmhmm!" The curse suddenly appears before them, lighting a fire in its hand. It explodes Satoru's head into a column of fire, Yūji watching in wonder and awe. The white haired man pretends to fall backwards while the curse runs behind them.
"There's more!" The curse plants its hand on Satoru's back, a large purple beam of lava sprouting out.
"That's all it took? I took a look for myself, and it was just an overestimation by the weak. Even the vessel is dead. Those humans were just as fragile as the rest," Mt. Fuji rants to itself and starts to walk off. "They weren't living lifes of truth. It's all so nauseatingly repulsive. I'm going to go spread real strength, the truth, through death."
"Acting like a God in my presence? All of these curses are fools. Only I can spread the real strength they preach so much about," Sukuna growls in anger and annoyance.
"We just went over this a moment ago." Yūji coughs loudly at all of the smoke, trying to wave it away from her.
"What is the meaning of this?" Mt. Fuji asks with a shocked glare. Satoru coughs and waves away the smoke as well.
He smirks and shoves his hand into his pocket, protectively grabbing Yūji's waist with the other. "To put it simply, you didn't hit me."
"Impossible. That wasn't like before. I know I touched you and killed you," The curse denies, turning around to face the two. Yūji giggles, but doesn't taunt the curse when she feels her teacher tighten his hold on her waist.
"You touched the "Infinity" that exists between you and me." Satoru pinches his fingers together, keeping a small amount of space between. Yūji looks up with curiosity and tilts her head.
"Infinity?"
"I'll show you both." Satoru holds out his free hand towards the curse. "Put your hand out."
"Fucking idiot." Yūji covers her mouth to try and stop her laugh when Satoru waves his hand back and forth.
"Come on, come on!" The curse stares at the white haired man-child in disbelief.
"Come on, come on, come on!"
"It's another showing one's hand pact, isn't it?" Yūji points out in amusement, watching the curse slowly walk forward. It holds out its hand and tries to touch Satoru's. Yūji gasps in shock when something invisible, but still somehow visible, stops the curse's hand.
"See?" Satoru states, pointing at his hand. Yūji jumps up and down and points at it to while she looks up at her teacher.
"That's the thing that stopped my kick from hitting you last week! So it's called Infinity?" Yūji asks brightly, making Satoru smile.
"Correction, Yūji-chan! It doesn't exactly stop you, but the closer you get, the slower you go!" Satoru gently spreads the curse's fingers wide with his own. "You know, we could just shake hands like this."
Yūji feels a flare of something dark fester in her chest. She purposely ignores it, her smile growing tighter.
"I refuse," The curse snarls angrily, his arm shaking.
"Don't be shy now. You're making me embarrassed too." Yūji glares at the entwined hands, snarling silently.
"Damn you!" Yūji blinks in surprise when she suddenly sees the curse cough up blood, Satoru's hand disappearing from her waist.
"Wow... he's fast..." Yūji thinks in awe as her teacher continues to slam his hand into the curse's stomach.
"There's still more!" Satoru lands another barrage of hits on the curse before releasing its hand. He twirls around and lands a hard kick into the curse, making it fly over the cliff.
"Infinity exists everywhere. My jujutsu just brings it forward in reality. It's my innate technique, Yūji-chan!" Satoru explains as he holds up his index finger.
"Convergence, divergence... Yūji-chan, what do you think happens when someone touches this void?" Yūji gasps in delight as a spinning vortex of red energy surrounds a black hole right above Satoru's finger.
"Hmph. Show off..." Sukuna mutters, yet still pays close attention to the white haired man.
"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red."
Yūji watches with wide eyes as the black hole shoots outwards, creating mass destruction across the forest. She leans over the metal railing with a hand over her eyes.
"Oh wow! Gojo-sensei, you're so cool! Is it still alive?" Yūji suddenly feels herself being lifted by an arm around her waist and snaps her head up. "Eh? Gojo-sensei? What're you doi~iiing!"
She quickly wraps an arm around Satoru's neck as he flies forward, attacking the curse with one hand. Yūji laughs loudly at the unexpected ride, a wide grin growing on her face.
"Gojo-sensei's so strong! Wow... and he isn't even blessed!" Yūji thinks in awe. Sukuna snorts and leans back on his throne, or at least Yūji assumes he does.
"Of course he's blessed. He reeks of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto*, can't you tell?" Yūji blinks back into reality when she is gently placed on top of a water surface. They were in a small circular pond with the curse a few meters away, slowly standing up.
"He tends to keep to himself... what is Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto doing with blessing mortals?" She focuses on the curse with a small frown in thought.
"Ne, Gojo-sensei. Did your family ever tell you how your cursed technique came to be?" Yūji tugs at Satoru's jacket, glancing up at him. Satoru smiles brightly and tilts his head.
"Why do you want to know? The Gojo Clan, along with Kamo and Zen'in, are descendants of the Big Three Vengeful Spirits. It came from them," Satoru answers vaguely. Yūji narrows her eyes in thought.
She glances back at Mt. Fuji when it scoffs loudly. "Using Sukuna's vessel as a shield? You're not that strong then."
"You will call Sukuna by his title. You haven't earned the right to call him by his name," Yūji speaks up immediately, face going blank. A smile quickly flickers back on her face as she giggles.
"Well, I can't really scold you for your mistake! I mean, you're weak after all!" She taunts cheerfully. Mt. Fuji stares at her for a single, silent moment before lava explodes from its head.
"DON'T UNDERESTIMATE ME, YOU BRAT!" The curse screeches out, making Yūji wince. She tilts her head and pokes her pinky into her ear.
"Talk about a hot temper. You have an annoyingly loud bark, Mt. Fuji. And no bite. Are all modern curses this weak? I mean that Mahito couldn't keep up with me and did that weird domain thing..." Yūji blinks at the reminder and looks up at a highly amused Satoru. "Gojo-sensei, what's a domain?"
"I'm going to enjoy swallowing up that pretty face of yours, brat!" The curse creates a hand sign with both of its hands as the lava stops spewing from its head.
"Domain Expansion!"
A black void suddenly surrounds the curse, Yūji, and Satoru. Yūji blinks once before looking around. Obsidian suddenly sprouts from where the curse stood and lava spew from behind it. Lava starts exploding from the obsidian floor as it starts expanding out. Yūji takes a small step closer to Satoru, casually avoiding a spray of lava.
"Oh! It's like Sukuna's thing! So that's a domain?" Yūji states in realization.
Sukuna snorts with an eye roll. "No fucking shit, slut."
"Oh, shut up. You never explained it to me. How was I supposed to know?" Yūji internally pouts, making Sukuna chuckle even more.
"You're too cute, little vessel. It'll be fun to break you apart one day."
"Coffin of the Iron Mountain!"
"Talking with Sukuna? What's he saying?" Satoru asks with a certain curious excitement in his tone. Yūji giggles and presses a finger to her lips.
"Secret! But I'll tell you if you tell me what this is!" Yūji offers with a bright smile. Satoru smiles back and wraps his arm around Yūji's waist again.
"This is Domain Expansion. You use cursed energy to create an Innate Domain imbued with a cursed technique in your surroundings. Spreading out a Domain consumes a lot of energy, but its merits are welcome worth the cost. One such benefit is the boost to stats due to environmental factors," Satoru explains calmly.
"Oh! Like buffs in video games?" Yūji asks in realization. She doesn't pay any attention to the large piece of obsidian racing towards them.
Satoru lifts up his arm and lightly hits it against the obsidian, shattering it into millions of pieces. "Another is that the techniques imbued in the Domain are guaranteed to hit within that Domain."
Yūji blinks at the information before opening her mouth in realization. Oh... Oh!
"I never realized cursed energy evolved so much to create its own type of expansion!" Yūji states mostly to herself. She places her chin in her hand in thought, smiling brightly.
"To escape an Expansion... you can try your luck with escaping, hitting the techniques with an equally powerful technique of your own, or expanding your own Expansion! Do these rules still apply with a Domain?"
Satoru bursts out in laughter, highly amused. "Hm. I'll ask about that later. Right now... You don't mind if I show off a bit in front of my cute student, no?"
Yūji flushes at the compliment and giggles into her hand. She tucks some of her loose hair behind her ear and shakes her head.
"You're student doesn't mind, Gojo-sensei. She likes watching her pretty teacher show off." Yūji smiles up at Satoru, holding her hands behind her back.
"There won't even be ashes left of you, Gojo Satoru!" Mt. Fuji shouts loudly as a large fountain of lava rushes forward. Yūji tilts her head, still looking up at her teacher.
"So it was after Gojo-sensei. Curses don't pay attention to names of people. How did it know his name?"
Sukuna chuckles darkly. "Traitor, traitor~! The betrayal of an ally is a beautiful tragedy to watch."
Yūji almost answers the curse, but everything freezing around her makes her pause. A silent gasp escapes her mouth when she watches Satoru pull down his blindfold.
"Six Eyes..." Beautiful, endless crystal blue eyes surrounded by pure white eyelashes are revealed to the world. Yūji feels her jaw drop a little, her eyes growing wide.
"That's–"
"Domain Expansion–" Satoru holds up his hand and crosses two fingers "–Infinite Void."
"Not a blessing of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto... a blessing of Tokoyo-no-Omoikane*!"
Hey! Hope you all like the new chapter! Decided to combine a lot in this chapter, so it's extra long for you all!
Okay, so... It is a genuine question that I ask of you all... Is it considered cannibalism if you eat a soul?
Also, holy shit. I did NOT expect myself to write this, but I did, so–here we are I guess. Also, Mahito gets what he FUCKING DESERVES.
*Extra information*
*(1): Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is another Shinto deity god. It's documented that he is the God of the Moon. There isn't a lot of information about him.
*(2): Tokoyo-no-Omoikane is the Shinto god of wisdom and intelligence.
Okay... So I have a plan for a scene in the next chapter... I haven't fully decided if I will go through with the plan, skip the scene all you like, it literally has no important part in the plot. Just some self-indulgence... If you know what I mean...
I hope you all are enjoying the story so far! I hope this chapter wasn't too rushed in certain parts for you! Bye.
