Family matters CHAPTER 30

Skye looked up ahead of her, her body was numb and the snow was freezing not to mention annoying. She focused on her surroundings on the vibrations, she had made good time considering the weather. Her bag seemed to be getting heavier though the longer she was out in this weather. She once again lowered her head as she pushed past her discomfort, she didn't have long. Her family gave her 2 hours and she had already spent an hour of that walking this far, but she thought she could feel something familiar close by so she kept moving. The further she got the worse the wind got, if not for her powers she feared she may have been blown off the mountain but air had its own vibrations so her powers managed to keep the worse of it away from her.

25 minutes later...

"I knew I would find you." Skye stated looking down at her sister who was sitting just up ahead of her. "How are you not cold?" Skye asked seeming she was still in that dress the Wakandans gave her.

'You should not be here.' Grace signed to her getting up before she could jump though Skye pushed her down with her powers before closing the distance. 'Don't touch me.' Grace signed accidently sending Skye back but she pushed herself forward with her own powers landing next to her.

"You seriously think we would just leave you?" Skye asked

'I have no control? You asked how I am not cold? I do not feel it. I am burning up Skye I want to scream.'

"You helped me get control, let me help you." Skye stated taking a step closer to her and to Skye's surprise the closer she got to Grace the warmer she felt.

'How did you get through the barrier?' Grace asked

"Air has its own vibrations." Skye retorted "Come home please."

'No, I hurt Ria. I am hurting you, why are you here?' Grace asked noting that she was indeed hurting Skye, Skye was constantly using her powers right now to keep Grace's powers from sending her flying but in doing so Skye's powers was starting to hurt herself.

"You are not hurting me." Skye stated

'I can feel you Skye, I can feel everything right now within this vicinity. You should just leave me, I do not think I can stop this.' Grace signed getting ready to jump into the air.

"You're wrong Grace, you are feeling what I want you to feel." Skye stated this did make Grace turn to look at her.

'What…' Her hands froze, she was stuck staring at her unable to move. Skye could see the red glow around her.

"You are coming home, Stark has set up a place to help you regain control, somewhere safe. Your family needs you home." Skye stated she gave a nod and watched as her sister collapsed moving forward to catch her Skye looked up at Wanda who assessed Grace before looking at Skye.

"It is cold, can we go home now?" Wanda asked she watched as Skye placed the bracelet on Grace's wrist before pulling her up. Wanda had placed a survival blanket over her as they made their way to a better vantage point so they could call in a pickup.

"Let's go home." Skye agreed she couldn't help but feel relief as she had found her. She had meant what she had said, she was going to help Grace but somewhere safer than a mountain range.

Grace woke up in an unfamiliar room, her skin was buzzing and her back was aching looking down at her wrist she saw the restrictors in place and sighed. She sat up looking around the room to find it empty but on the other side of the window she saw them, her family.

"Please never scare us like that again." Maria stated at this Grace gave her a sad smile, she could sense the air pressure in the room she knew why no one had entered.

'I am sorry.' Grace signed

"Grace." May began but Grace shook her head stopping her from speaking.

'You need to let me go. I am a danger to you all, even these can not stop me.' Grace signed indicating the bracelets on her wrists.

"We are family." May stated signing it at the same time to emphasize the importance.

'I do not want to hurt any of you.' Grace signed not helping to look at Maria and Skye both were wearing splints on their arms, she had done that. She looked down unable to hold any of their gazes.

"Grace we forgive you, please talk to us." Maria stated she really wanted to enter the room to hug her, but right now the pressure was too high, they needed to help Grace regain control.

'You should not forgive so easily.'

"You are family." Maria stated

'Which is why you should let me go, it is cruel having everyone I care about this close when I can hurt you all.' Grace signed looking up at them, they could see the mix of emotions in her eyes settling on guilt as she once again looked down at the splints on her sisters arms. 'You should have left me there, at least there I could not hurt anyone.'

"We would not have brought you here, if we thought you were a risk to us." Natasha stated grabbing Grace's attention, she was standing next to Clint who had tears in his eyes she was not sure why. Grace looked back at Natasha she knew the others were too close to her to see the danger she was, she was hoping to see the face of an ally, but Natasha was family ever since Clint brought her into the family as his partner she had taken on a sisterly role, there would be no help from her on this.

"What are you feeling Grace?" May asked gaining her daughters attention she could see the pain Grace was in and her heart clenched just a little tighter as Grace tried to bury her feelings.

'It is too much mum, I want it to stop, please make it stop.' Grace pleaded with her moving up to the window but stopping just short of it not wanting to get too close in fear of breaking it.

"Your family is here for you Grace, we are all here." May stated, it was true it was then that Grace saw everyone Phil, Nick, Yeye, Grandma Lian, Wanda, Pietro, Steve and Bucky even the other Avengers were there including Thor, he was standing next to Lady Sif and Stark both looking determined it was clear they had a plan. Maybe they could help her, but they would need to do so fast she could feel the buzzing feeling was getting more intense and she was feeling hotter.

'We will try it your way but if it looks as though I am going to hurt someone I need you to take me out.' Grace signed looking directly at Bucky.
