Hammer Bowler

The sand rushing beneath Hammer Bowler's feet was soothing after his long tiring journey from Beacons Perch to Lions Arch. He was thinking of what would happen next in his life. Hammer

sniffed the cool, fresh air coming from the clear water as he wondered where he would end up next. Suddenly, Hammer heard footsteps approaching from behind him. He turned around and was face to face with his friend Derrin who seemed to have come a long way. "Hammer! I have news from the north! The enemy forces are drawing near-we must flee to The Amnoon Oasis and set camp there", Derrin said as he was trying to catch his breath from all the exhausting running he had done. Hammer agreed to travel to Amnoon Oasis. Now halfway through the trail to the D'Allesio Seaboard Hammer and Derrin were suddenly attacked from behind by three vicious fire imps. "Charge!", yelled Hammer as he ran to save he friend from the imps. All of a sudden he was caught on fire by the imps. Hammer struggled as his skin was slowly peeling away before his eyes. All his thoughts were on whether he was going to live or not. Then suddenly, his worries of failing were gone before his eyes, Derrin suddenly turned into a powerful, mighty, golden dragon and blew those imps afar from their location. Derrin winked at Hammer as he slowly turned back into human form. "Derrin how did you do that?", Hammer said with surprise in his eyes. Derrin merely smiled and continued walking along the path to their location. Hammer wasn't happy that Derrin wouldn't answer his question so he continued striding along and hoped he would get an answer later on. Derrin noticed Hammer's burnt, shriveled skin and began a healing process. After one hour had gone by Hammer was fully healed and was ready to continue their journey. After two days of tiring walking Hammer and Derrin had finally reached The D'Allesio Seaboard. They were happy to be back in some civilization after their short journey.

That evening Derrin and Hammer were invited to dinner by an old couple who were also generous enough to let them stay the night in their little home. During dinner Hammer had noticed that the old couple were very old compared to others he had seen. "How old are you two?", Hammer asked the older couple as they were eating their dinner. The old man stared at them in shock at the question. "Were both two thousand years old and were still very young if you can believe it" said the old man as he gulped down a piece of dry bread. "Would you two like something to drink?" asked the old woman as Hammer and Derrin finished their dinner. "I wouldn't mind some ale if you guys have any?", said Hammer as he was wiping food off his face with a piece of cloth. The old woman smiled and handed Hammer a glass of ale. Hammer drank the ale so fast that even Derrin was shocked at his friend. "Hammer, be careful you don't get yourself drunk!", said Derrin to Hammer with a stern, clear voice. Hammer choked on a drop of ale as he heard his friend speak to him in such a serious tone. He stared at the empty glass and in it, stared at his reflection in frustration. "Why don't we get you two into bed? It's late and you guys need your sleep after your long journey", said the old woman to Hammer and Derrin. As they were walking up a flight of stairs, Hammer noticed a golden, shiny longsword hanging from the wall to his right. "Excuse me, but where did you get that wonderful blade I saw down there?",asked Hammer with curiosity. "That is something to be spoken of another time", said the old man as they were walking up the stairs. Once in their room Derrin and Hammer jumped into bed as though they were kids who had just had a tiring day at school and fell asleep. The next morning Hammer and Derrin said their good byes to the old couple and continued on their long journey.
