Rio: Short Stories Chapter 2: Bluebirds First Kiss, a rio fanfic

Here is a new one-shot I've thought of, it is an alternative scene from Rio when Blu and Jewel are dancing in the club but this time they manage to kiss.

Yes, I know that other authors have done stories or their own one-shots on this but this will include the marmoset's attack.

Alternative First Kiss

Blu and Jewel followed Nico, Pedro and Rafael through the fruit market stalls, walking close together to make sure they didn't trip over the chain around their ankles, "Wait, where are you guys taking us?" Blu asked cocking his head to one side curiously while Jewel did the same, "We're taking you to one of the best places in Rio," Nico replied with a wink as they continued to move through the gaps in the boxes.

Eventually, they arrive at a stack of boxes covered by a large tarpaulin, Nico and Pedro made their way through a small gap in the bottom with Blu, Jewel and Rafael following them, soon they were hit by a wave of sound, Blu looked around in awe at all the birds dancing and laughing to the funky music playing round while some birds were up on a big stage banging old metal pots like drums.

"Well Bluebirds, welcome to Club Paradiso del Rio," Nico said as the two macaws gazed in awe at the place, "What do you think lovebirds?" Rafael said teasingly only for Jewel to give him an annoyed look while Blu looked around in amazement, "this certainly is a cool place despite there being a few healthcare violations," he's said which made Rafael turn around and give him an odd look, "That doesn't make any sense to me at all, but I like you for that," he said with a small chuckle.

Before Jewel said anything a beam of light shone onto her and Blu which temporarily blinded them making them blink their eyes to restore their vision to see everyone in the club looking at them while Nico and Pedro addressed them. "Listen up everybody, Rafael has brought some new friends from out of town and we need to show them some love because I don't think they get along,"

As soon as he finished a drum started playing by one of the performers as Pedro stared to encourage the crowd. "Come on everybody, put your wings together and clap them as loud as you can, we're gonna show these how to party," he yelled in excitement

Blu felt his foot tapping to the music as he looked up as he felt the music flood his ears while Jewel just looked around in

Fly so high where I need to come down for oxygen

In Rio

In Rio, I realize

Blu looked behind him to see his tail wiggling from side to side which then triggered a flashback to when he was a little chick dancing in his hollow to the jungle sounds, he smiled and just started to dance while Jewel just looked in amusement, "What are you doing?" She asked while he continued to make random moves with his wigs and chest, "I don't know, it's not me I swear," he said in worry as his body continued to move while she looked on in amusement.

Rafael soon spotted Blu's funny moves and simply smiled while Jewel soon joined in, dancing a lot better than Blu was which he noticed.

You dance fast,

But I dance faster, faster, faster

Faster, faster

Blu watched Jewel's movements in amazement before he felt himself being pushed from behind and bumped into Jewel who looked at him in surprise, Blu looked nervously at her thinking she was going to claw him but instead, she smiled and nudged him on the side, and carried on dancing.

Blu slowly started to mirror her movements until he and Jewel were dancing in sync to the music, they smiled at each other as Jewel spun in front of Blu before he gently pulled her back with his wing as she giggled playfully while Rafael watched them, smiling with his wings crossed on his chest

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

Blu and Jewel danced wing in wing to the upbeat music as the crowd grew louder, soon Blu spun Jewel round and then threw her up into the air where she sang the melody of the music with her eyes closed.

Blu watched in awe as Jewel continued to sing while flapping her wings before the chain gently snagged on her talon as she slowly descended to the ground.

Jewel landed in front of Blu who looked at her in awe while she gazed at him with a warm glow on her face as the two macaws slowly moved towards each other, both of them gazing into each other's eyes.

Blu and Jewel's bodies met as their faces kept moving towards each other with their beaks open until eventually their beaks connected into a passionate kiss, Both birds wrapped their wings around each other as they closed their eyes while the surrounding birds clapped and cheered for them.

Soon they broke the kiss and opened their eyes with them both blushing, "Wow that was amazing Blu," Jewel said a small smile appearing on her beak while he just looked at her dreamily, "It certainly was Jewel and just to let you know that-" but he never got to finish his sentence as the tarpaulin was ripped off which blinded everyone before they saw a group of marmosets hopping over the boxes and making their way towards the group of birds.

Blu and Jewel looked at the group of marmosets confused until the group parted way and a large marmoset wearing random jewellery on his arms and a wristwatch wrapped around his waist walked up to them and smirked. "You two birds are coming with me," he said which made Blu and Jewel look angry at him, "In your little monkey dreams," Jewel said before spitting near his foot.

"Yeah, you heard her, go away!" Blu said angrily toward the marmoset who just sniggered before Rafael jumped up to his side, "Come on pal, can't we all just get along?" he said before the marmoset pushed him away slightly. "Why don't you keep your big nose out of this, moron," he said with a smirk only for the spoonbill to grab his arm and stare straight into his eyes fiercely."

Listen, mister, you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us," he said gesturing his wing to the number of birds gathered behind Blu and Jewel. "Yeah you want these two you're going to through us, little King Kong," Pedro said while he and Nico curled their wings into small fists. Both groups continued to stare fiercely at each other until Pedro finally shouted:

BIRDS VS MONKEYS!

Both groups charged at each as a chaotic battle ensued as the large two groups attacked with Blu and Jewel caught in the mix, dodging every marmoset that tried to grab them before the larger one eventually tackled Blu to the ground, "Got you now blue boy, hahaha," he cackled but Jewel quickly pulled the chain on her leg which whacked him in crotch making him fall over and groan in pain.

"Let's get outta here," Jewel said as she and Blu made their way away from the battlefield only for several marmosets to surround them, cutting off any means of escape. Suddenly a large spoonbill grabbed their legs and hoisted them up into the air, "Don't worry guys, I'll get you out of here," he said as he carried them away from the scene.

He then dropped them onto a moving tram to the relief of the macaws, "Thank you," Blu shouted to the spoonbill who waved his wing and flew off as Nico, Pedro & Rafael landed next to them. "Now that's was awesome, you two had some cool moves out there," Pedro said while Blu smiled and shared a high five with the three birds. "Yeah, we gave those pests what for right Jewel?" Blu cheered as he looked at her but his smile dropped when he noticed the curious look on her face.

He slowly made his way over to her, "What's the wrong Jewel?" He said a slight twinge of nervousness, "Blu, what was it you were going to tell me before all that?" She said beseechingly. Blu gulped and turned his head back to the others who were watching with anticipation which added more pressure on his shoulders before he faced Jewel. "Well, Jewel I wanted to tell you that I-I-I…I love you, Jewel," Blu finally managed to say.

Jewel just stood there in shock as she tried to process what he had just said but soon she felt her true feeling take over and soon she smiled before she walked over to Blu and pulled him into another passionate kiss, catching him by surprise but soon he closed his eyes and returned the kiss, while Rafael nudged Nico, "That's my boy," he whispered to the canary who smiled as they continued to watch the two birds continue to make out.

A couple of minutes later they broke the kiss to breathe as they opened their eyes, both of them continuing to hold each other close. "I love you too Blu," Jewel said as she gazed into his brown eyes while his beak curved into a wide smile.

They both turned their heads to see their friends clapping and cheering while Nico wiped a tear from his eyes, "Congratulations you two, now let's get going to Luiz," Rafael declared as Blu and Jewel held each other close in a loving embrace

Well, that is my second one-shot for this collection, now I will be returning with a new one-shot story in the future but for now, I will be returning to writing for my Amazon Fanfic.
