Prologue

'Where am I?' thought a woman as she stood on a bridge that was suspended over a bottomless canyon.

Deep within the walls of an undisclosed location, breathing can be heard throughout as a voice calls out.

"Come! Follow the light."

Following the glow, the woman was led into a castle. The woman continued following the light, leading her deeper into the castle, past many objects and many artifacts. However, she couldn't stay to admire them as the voice continued to call for her to hurry.

"hurry, there is no time!" "before he finds you!"

She followed the light until she reached the end, stepping through into what appeared to be a large throne room. She noticed seven statues of demonic figures on her left; above them was a sign engraved into the rock wall, "The Seven Deadly sins." Each statue stood on a platform, their names carved into the base in the following order; envy, gluttony, greed, lust, pride, sloth, and wrath. Sitting under the lust statue, the woman noticed what appeared to be a glass eye encased in a cage where the glow that she followed originated from; she swore she could hear voices.

"come to us."

"what?"

"be our champion, not his!"

"who's champion?"

"the wizard is weak,"

"he can not stop us. Set us free!"

"we will grant you power,"

"power? What kind of Power?"

"Whatever your heart desires."

"including the Power to take revenge on a family,"

"yes."

This attracted her as she approached the statues & stared at the encased glass eye, reaching for it; the cage began opening up as she went for it, the eyes of the figures started glowing red.

"STOP!" came a booming voice causing her to pull back.

Looking over, she saw 11 thrones line up together in a semicircle surrounding a pool of liquid silver embedded into the floor; while 10 of the thrones were vacant, there was one with someone sitting in the center throne. This person appeared to be an aged man with a long gray beard and hair, but the top of his head was bald. He wears a full-length cyan-colored gown with wide sleeves and a black sash at the waist and a lightning bolt symbol on his chest.; in his hand was a golden staff with a lightning bolt on the top.

"you dare set foot in my lair…in my home, evil one."

"we summoned her; she will be our champion. Not yours." Mocked the voice,

"quickly grab the eye!"

The man disappeared from his throne as the woman attempted to grab the eye before reappearing in front of her. Preventing her from retrieving it, the man began surging with energy as he emitted lightning from his body, terrifying the woman.

"Who are you!?"

"Someone who will never let evil like you prevail, Now BEGONE!"

Raising his staff, the old man slammed it onto the ground sending a surge of lightning to the woman; in a flash, she was gone, banished from his presence. The old man breathed a sigh of relief, but it was plain to see that he was drained.

'they were able to bypass my binding spell to summon their own champion; I need to find my champion before it's too.'

The old man's thoughts were interrupted when he was blasted from behind, sending him flying. As he looked up, he saw that it was the eye that had attacked him, now floating in the air, much to his horror.

"No!"

"you may have prevented us from uniting with our champion now, but you are now too weak to bind us here any longer; if we cannot bring her here, then we will go to her."

The eye disappeared before the old man could do anything, leaving him alone in his chamber. Summoning his staff, the old man struggled to his feet before desperately making it back to his throne. As the old man sat on his throne, he started dreading the danger the world was about to face. As he leaned his head against his staff, he prayed.

"Please… Please… for the world to survive… FIND ME SOMEONE WHO IS WORTHY!"

With that, the old man slammed his staff onto the ground unleashing a surge of lightning. That flowed throughout the castle and beyond as it reached out, revealing the castle was housed inside of a rock formation floating in space.
