Terra had given him simple directions. Go to the burial site and wait for her to get there. It had been simple. She couldn't help, but glare toward the sound, she would soon see him reveal himself from the depths of the woods, and she would struggle not to nock the arrow and take aim at the stupid man.
Her only saving grace was that Cicero was still knocked out and hidden in the brush. She had used a strong draught on him, but who could know how long a poison would last on him so she would need to finish this faster than she originally anticipated.
The dragon landing with a large boom. The earth quaking under her feet barely registered in her mind. If she continued to allow all these distractions she would end up six feet under or in this case deep into a dragon's belly. She slid the bow into the cover on her back. She would do this with magic, this would be the fastest option.
The dragon before her had arrows stick out of its hide, not only for her attempts, but surely from other hunters who thought they were mighty enough. She could feel its hatred and anger coming from its aura. It was staring at her and appeared that it was waiting for her to make her move.
"You are far too smart for your own good," Terra shouted at the dragon before. "Pity the stench of death can be smelt, even from here I know you shouldn't exist." She summed flames and lightning into her hands. She could feel the surge of power consume the mana that was stored in her body. "The problem is this isn't your world anymore and I will make sure that this time you stayed buried." She quickly released the lighting and flames in session of each other. The barrage of magic in that order caused the creature to lurch and struggle, but thanks to the lightning's abilities there was no escape this time. She let loose. All the pent up anger and angst that she had been silently holding inside was let loose.
The trouble that consumed Terra at this moment was she didn't flinch once. Even as the beast screeched she stared into the flames that now consumed it before her. Dead flesh was flammable though this didn't seem to do anything for the stench. The smell would have normally sent her running, but at this moment it didn't stop her. The smell was almost as welcoming as a lover appearing with flowers. She could feel her sanity crack a little as she stared into the eyes of the now dead creature.
"I wouldn't have thought there was anything left to break in you, my dear," the voice whispered in her ear as she felt the cold metal slip across her throat. "This makes for an interesting situation, you faithful hound is almost finish with that cursed demon and will soon be here to take control of this situation or at least he thinks that."
"There is a lot of things you don't know, Cicero," Terra growled. "I would have figured you would have known that at least. Mother is one of the few who knows it all and it isn't as if you can hear her." She knew this would strike a chord in him. Suddenly the feeling of her flesh being cut slowly made her bit her lip.
The cackle that exploded into the air and all around her. Cicero had almost deafen her from the sound he created at that moment, "A deep blow, to say the least, I can say you are truly deadly. Here I am holding a poisoned dagger to your throat and you still are able to strike a harsh blow to my heart." The dagger was soon pulled away and Terra was pushed to the ground.
In response Terra turned toward Cicero not even daring to put her hand to the gash that was bleeding.
"I could do it, a single strike and yet I hesitate," Cicero was glaring at her and suddenly he licked the bloody dagger. "You taste sweeter than any drink the gods could provide. You understand? Even as the listener who was embraced by Mother, you a master assassin, are too precious. Disgusting, how has someone like you done this?!"
Terra stood up staring Cicero in the eyes, "It isn't a matter of who I am or how, but the fact that I have."
