The days seemingly went by fast; before Lincoln knew it, it was Friday after school. Today was the day he and his parents were heading to great lake city to meet with the Casagrandes. Over Lincoln and Ronnie Anne's powers and how to handle them. Keeping true to their promise of keeping the girls out of his business. Rita lied to the girls, saying she was going on an assignment to interview one of her column fans and asked Lynn to come with her. When Lori questioned why Lincoln was coming along too, she said she would let him hang out with Ronnie Anne while she worked. Rita then left the girls with money to buy pizza before leaving.
"Well, we're on our way." Lynn Sr. said.
"Dad, we don't need to drive; we could've traveled through the rock of eternity to Ronnie Anne's door.
"it's better this way, son; the girls won't suspect anything."
"Fair point, but we could've brought Lily."
"The girls were insistent, sweetie; they said they wanted it to be a sisters-only night." Explained Rita.
'Shocker.' Thought Lincoln.
Back at the loud house, the sisters were getting ready as they waited on both Luna's photo and the pizzas.
"where's Chunk, Luna? Asked Luan
"he'll be here, sis; he just wants to make sure he didn't miss anything."
"I'm more worried about that pizza." Said Lynn Jr.
"Relax, girls; once Luna's photo arrives and the pizza, we'll eat, then show them."
"Lilly, do you want to have some pizza too?" asked Leni
"Poo-poo!" huffed Lily before crawling away and up the stairs.
"what's with Lil' Lil?" Asked Luan.
"Our youngest sibling is still vastly devoted to our male sibling."
"In English, Lisa!?" said Lana
"Oh, for the love of… Lily is still on Lincoln's side!"
"*sigh, * I wish she'd see where not the bad guys here."
"she'll come around once we expose that backstabber." Boasted Lola.
Suddenly the doorbell rang, and Luna answered to her joy; it was Chunk holding an orange envelope.
"Hello, Luv."
"Hey, Chunk, is that it?"
"Sure is…" he replied, giving her the envelope before turning to leave.
"Yo Chunk, what's the hurry? We got pizza coming in a bit."
"Sorry, Luv, ma mates and I gotta gig in Boston." He replied
"Oh, okay, well, thanks again, you just solved all my problems." She said, closing the door as Chunk walked away, thinking.
'I'd say they're about to start,"
"Hey dudes, mine is here." Alerted Luna.
Now all the girls' photos were there; all they needed was the pizza on the way. As Lori took Luna's envelope and placed it with the others, Bobby's words started ringing in her head. She knew what they were about to do could end Lincoln's last remaining friendship, but she tried justifying it.
"you'll see boo-boo bear."
Bobby worked his shift at Great Lake City, the Casagrande's bodega, the Mercado. He wanted to close early because he wanted to be a part of the meeting with his family and the Louds. Helping him with the last few customers were Carl and CJ.
"Bobby, you think Lincoln and Ronnie Anne are in trouble?"
"Relax, bro. It's not like they're supervillains." Assured Carl.
"Yeah, the adults just want to set some ground rules; where's Ronnie Anne? I haven't seen her since she came home from school."
"Oh, she's with Carlota," informed CJ.
In Carlota's room, Ronnie Anne is in her Lady Shazam form, wearing a dress that her cousin is hemming.
"Uh, Carlota, is this gonna take any longer? I'm getting tired."
"Really, Prima,"
"Okay, fine, I'm getting bored; besides, Lincoln will be here soon."
"I know you want to get ready for your future hubby, but I just need to practice so I can do this for Alisa."
"Lincoln is just my friend."
"Well, in that case, can I date him?"
"HEY!" shouted Ronnie Anne
"Ha, made you jealous." Teased Carlota making Ronnie Anne blush.
Suddenly the girls heard a knock at the door from Frida, informing them that the Louds were downstairs. Hearing this, Carlota removed the dress, saying they could finish later. Ronnie Anne quickly put her costume back on before running at super speed to the roof.
Shazam!
In a flash, she was normal again and started walking back down the stairs to her apartment just as the Louds came upstairs.
"Oh, hey, Louds
"Hello, Ronnie Anne." Replied Rita.
Suddenly, Hector came out, inviting the Louds in, but when Lincoln and Ronnie Anne tried entering, Hector stopped them.
"Uh, why don't you kids give the adults a few minutes."
"But Abuelo, this meeting is about us; shouldn't we be there to talk." Argued Ronnie Anne.
"You will, sweetie, but we must settle a few things right now. Why don't you kids wait for us in the bodega."
Both kids agreed before Hector went inside to see everyone was waiting for him. Maria, Rosa, The Louds, Frida and Carlos, were among the group. Arturo was also present, having been updated by Maria. Still, he wasn't physically there and was video chatting from his laptop in Peru.
"Okay, I think it's time to start this meeting." Said Maria.
"Okay, I'll go first. I don't think Ronalda and Lincoln should be risking their lives."
"Mom."
"They are only children, babies; they shouldn't have to deal with saving the world; that should be the adult's responsibility."
"Well, they do turn into adults, so technically," said Hector before shutting up from Rosa's death glare.
"Mrs. Casagrande, I understand and feel the same as a mother. But I also realize that if it hadn't been for those two, many lives, including my family's and Bobby's, would have been lost that day. Explained Rita.
Rosa gave a sigh and a nod knowing that Rita had a point on the matter; seeing this, Arturo took his turn to speak.
"What confuses me most was why Ronnie Anne was chosen too?" He asked.
"I wonder that too; from what we were told, this Wizard chose Lincoln, and it was Lincoln who said the word, so why did it make Ronnie Anne a champion too."
"Well, she's a good kid like Lincoln." Said Frida.
"I just feel worried for my daughter. I mean, I don't want her in danger." Said Maria.
"I understand that you're concerned about your daughter putting herself in danger. We're the same with our son. But let's be real here, what can we do to actually stop them? From what I understand, they are much smarter, stronger, and faster than anyone here and have magic powers. If we were to put our foot down and forbid them from being heroes, what exactly could any of us do to enforce that?" said Lynn Sr. causing everyone to stop and think about that.
Back with Lincoln and Ronnie Anne, they were sitting in the Mercado with Bobby, now joined by Sid, Carlota, Carl, and CJ.
"Man, no fair. I wanted to be a part of the meeting. Frowned Bobby.
"Relax, primo; you'll get your chance," Carlota replied.
"Yeah, let's have our own meeting," said CJ.
"Well, does anyone know about this mask?" asked Lincoln
Bobby took the mask from Lincoln and started to examine it before he started to remember something.
"I think I remember something." Said Bobby. "Back when I was 11, this charity organization called the white dragons; helped children. They had offices all over the country and were going to set up in Royal Woods, too, but they disappeared."
"Do you remember anything else?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Well, I remember that they used to have a mascot that I think used to be a superhero called The White Dragon; he used to wear a mask like this." Bobby Informed. "you'll have to ask the rents; most kids my age probably don't remember much about them. I mean, mom and dad were gonna sign me up for their programs along with other kids, but they were gone; mom and dad were mad for some reason for a week.
"When Ronnie Anne told me about them, I had breakfast bot look into them, but he found nothing; it's like they never existed. Explain Sid.
"Weird, considering how big they were." Replied Bobby, "Maybe Lori knows more." He spoke.
"One problem, Lori doesn't know about my being Shazam, and I prefer to keep it that way."
Bobby felt a little bad seeing how Lincoln reacted to just hearing his oldest sister's name; this made him believe she was not taking his advice and making things right with him.
"No worries, I'll just ask as a random question." Said Bobby pulling out his phone.
Dialing Lori's number, he waited for a few seconds, which was odd considering Lori picked up fast; suddenly, Bobby heard her answer her phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey babe, I just wanted to ask, do you remember?"
"Uh, boo-boo bear, can I call you back." She said before hanging up the phone, shocking Bobby.
"She hung up, and it sounded like she was distracted with something."
Lincoln wondered what was going on for a moment but brushed it off, feeling that whatever Lori or his 8 other sisters were caught up in was not his problem.
Back at the Loud House, 9 of the loud girls were all in a state of shock. A while ago, after the 9 sisters had their pizza and spent time gossiping and bashing Lincoln, it was time to view the photos, much to Lily's anger. Moving to Lori and Leni's room, the girls decided they would take pictures, then send them to Bobby, who would tell Ronnie Anne. By the time Lincoln was home, he'd have no one in his corner, and they wouldn't have to worry about their reps.
"Okay, girls, time to get to work. Said Lori.
Removing the photos from the envelopes, all the girls began to look them over, expecting overwhelming proof of Lincoln's guilt. They all got a rude awakening as they all, minus Lily, turned pale as Lucy. The photos proved Lincoln's innocence; each image reveals that it was fake in its own way with writing on the back to explain their findings.
Lisa's photo shows several areas that were circled in red around Lincoln and Sam; upon reading the back, it showed that upon zooming in on those areas. The pixels were smudged due to removing something, indicating a photo editing tool like a spot healing brush was used.
Leni's photo showed a different proof; on the back was written how there were pixel inconsistencies as some did not belong to the couch but to Lincoln's image. Due to this, an outline was drawn of where Lincoln should be sitting away from Sam, not kissing her but kissing something else. Another finding was a poorly used blending option to cover something with Lincoln's moved image. Though a vague outline was drawn of what Lincoln should be kissing, to Lucy's shock, she recognized it was her Edwin bust.
Luna's photo is the most detailed; there were three photos, and two were similar to Lisa and Leni's. However, the last one was the most influential in proving it was a fake. Chunk had inverted the image; in doing so, he revealed a watermark in the image showing the name of the program used to make the image. It was called Photo-maker: trial version.
All girls looked in disbelief, except for Lily, who had a smug look; they continued passing it around, hoping this was a mistake, but no, the error was theirs.
"Stink…I mean, Lincoln was telling the truth." Said Lynn.
"How could I miscalculate this?" said Lisa.
"This is no joke," Luan said.
"*sigh* we are fools." Replied Lucy.
"There must be a mistake here. I can't be wrong." Protested Lola.
"Sis, the proof is right there." Replied Lana.
"It could be fake! This all could be edited!"
Lana frowned and was tempted to slap some sense into her twin. "Is being right *that* important to you? Lincoln didn't do anything wrong; we should be happy that he's innocent! But instead, you actually *want* him to be a jerk just so you can say you were right about him?"
"Well, it's not like you wanted to be wrong either!" yelled Lola.
"We literally treated him like garbage for nothing!" cried Lori
"How could we be so dumb?" Leni cried.
Luna said nothing as she read the letter from Chunk expressing his disappointment in Luna's action and how he was taking a copy of his findings to Sam. Finally, he told her how she needed to make things right with Lincoln. Luna couldn't hear her sisters freaking out over how wrong they were. Instead, she heard every hateful thing she said to Sam and Lincoln. Right down to Luna wishing her brother was a stillborn or a miscarriage. Playing over and over in her mind as if someone else was saying these words in her head using her voice, but no, it was her. Tears started welling up as her words kept getting louder; she curled up into a ball in her mind before finally she couldn't take hearing those words anymore and screamed. Surprising her sisters and proving why she is the loudest Loud.
"Luna?" asked Lori.
"How could I be so damn stupid!" She cried. "They were telling me the truth, but I wouldn't listen. I'm a fucking monster!" she screamed.
"Lori tried to comfort her sister, but Luna ran out of the room, crying, closing herself into her room. The girls wanted to go after her but were stopped by Lori.
"Guys, this isn't going to help; the only way to help her is to make things right with Lincoln."
"How do we do that." Asked Leni.
"We need to show him how sorry we are, then he'll forgive Luna and us by showing him that the photos are fake. And now we're not going to keep acting like he committed a crime." replied Lori."
The girls cheered and nodded, feeling better, certain that their brother would be glad to hear this except for Lily, who felt an instant dread coming from this plan.
Back with the parents after what seemed like a long time of silence was broken by Maria.
"So, what am I supposed to do? Just let my daughter go off and put herself in danger just because I don't have powers and can't stop her?"
"Your daughter did a great thing that day, and she can do more great things in the future. Do you want to tell her that what she did and can do aren't great things?"
Ooh, "The more you resist, the more they'll rebel. That's what kids do. Telling her that she can't do it will only make her want it more, and she'll be more prone to making reckless choices because she knows you'll disapprove no matter how safe she is, so why bother playing it safe? But if you support her and tell her that you're proud, she'll be more inclined to do the job without ignoring your feelings in the process." Informed Lynn Sr.
"I think my husband is right; I want Lincoln to be safe, and considering what he's been through, if he feels he has no support, it might cause him to be reckless. Rita said.
Everyone thought a moment before Rosa asked Hector to bring the kids in. Hector nodded before heading out the door. Moments later, he returned with everyone; In contrast, everyone else stood on the side, and Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were brought into the middle.
"I'm sure you know what we've been talking about. Said Rosa while Lincoln and Ronnie Anne nodded. "We all agreed that we don't want you risking your lives."
"But Abuela." Said Ronnie Anne.
"Sweetie, let us finish." Said Maria.
"But we realized that you two care so much that you'll continue to do this with or without our support, so despite how we feel, it's better to support you both. Explained Rosa.
"So, if you two are so determined to be heroes, you'll do it under these rules." Said Lynn Sr.
1. No transforming where others can see you or where the lightning would cause unwanted damage.
2. Tell no one else about your identities.
3. Keep us informed and be truthful with us.
4. Don't let your grades or attendance suffer.
5. Don't go looking for attention. Real heroes aren't in it for the fame.
6. Don't act like this entitles you to more at home. Being a hero doesn't mean you deserve to be spoiled.
7. be careful don't take unnecessary risks that will endanger your life or the lives of others.
Both Lincoln and Ronnie Anne agreed, happy to know their families supported their life as superheroes, but now they needed answers from them.
"Dad, we appreciate you guys supporting us, but now we need your help with something."
"What is it, son?"
"What do you know about this?" asked Lincoln showing the mask.
Lynn Sr, Rita, Maria, and Arturo's eyes went wide with horror upon seeing it, indicating they knew what it was.
"Son, where did you get this?"
"I found it after I put out that fire at the hotel. I figured it had something to do with it."
"I thought we were done with those monsters?" said Maria
"Monsters? I thought they were a charity." Asked Bobby.
"We thought so too until we found out the truth," Arturo explained.
"Okay, guys be straight with us; who are these guys." Said Ronnie Anne.
Lynn Sr took a deep breath; he knew this would take a while to explain, and in truth, he didn't want to relive that, but if he wanted Lincoln's trust, he needed to give him his trust. He then began to explain how the white dragon organization first appeared as a charity that helped children until the parents of royal woods discovered the awful truth that due to documents being leaked to the local media showing they've been using their donation to fund white supremacist groups such as the Kru Klux Klan and several Neo-Nazi branches since their founding even was the reason why many escaped retribution for their actions since they would hire high price lawyer on their behalf.
"The parents were enraged finding this out; we started sending this information to other news outlets worldwide; by the end of the week, everyone knew the truth.
"What happened next?" asked Lincoln
"Well, the owner and CEO was arrested and sentenced to life, after not only for fraud, discovering that he was a Klan man. He was involved in numerous high-profile hate crimes. Explained Rita.
"Strange, we tried looking them up, but nothing about them could be found. It was like they never existed." Explained Sid.
"Well, when the police raided their other bases, everything was gone; even data on the organization was erased," Maria said.
"We all figured that the ones who got away disbanded since there was no trace of them until now," said Arturo.
"Okay, Lincoln, what's the plan?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"For the time being, I'm going to go to the police chief as Shazam and inform him of the potential threat to royal wood. If these guys are responsible for setting the hotel on fire, that might be the beginning." Informed Lincoln. "Mom. Dad, do you think you two can somehow tell the parents just so they're aware."
"Our pleasure, son." Lynn Sr. informed.
With that, Rosa decided to change the subject to something more positive. She decided to cook a meal for everyone with Lynn Sr's help. Rita chose to call Lori and informed her they would be on their way home in an hour.
"Okay, girls, they should be back before midnight; we can put operation "recover brother" into action.
The girls agreed and began setting up whatever they were planning for except for two, Lily and Luna. Lilly had gone back to her room, not wanting to be part of their apology. Luna, however, sat on the stairs case watching her eyes bloodshot from her crying, still hearing her hateful words in her head. Luna wanted to stay in her room, but Luan convinced her that they had a plan to make things better with Lincoln.
"Dudes, are you sure this is gonna work?"
"Relax, sis. Once we show Lincoln we're sorry, he'll forgive us." Said Lynn.
"Yeah, Linky always forgives us." Assured Leni.
"Affirmative our sibling dynamic will be restored soon." Finish Lisa.
Despite her sisters' assurance, Luna felt it wasn't as simple as they said and decided to just watch. And wondered if they really could get Lincoln to forgive them.
End Of Ch. 8
Author's notes
I decided to split this chapter into 2 separate chapters. This part was more or less set up for what's coming later
Next chapter Lincoln will face two battles, one as himself and the other as Shazam.
As you can see, while the sisters realize they were wrong, none of them except Luna see how badly they've hurt Lincoln, believing he'll forgive them like always. Still, their rude awakening is coming next chapter.
I've been getting a lot of negative crap about my story, so I can take constructive criticism. But if you dislike my story to the point, you feel you have to tell me to rewrite it how you want it, keep that BS to yourself and write your own. Simple.
