Farkas had been right to try and keep a hold of Terra. As soon as she managed she twisted out of the lustful embrace. She stood as far as she could. She put the fire between them and struggled to gain her breath back. He was good at persuading her body that she needed him between her legs. Right now though there were things that they needed to do and instead of allowing this mess to continue she was going to complete this mission and after that she would figure out what she was going to do with this man.
"You seem far too energetic to rest or honor your ancestors here," Terra took a hold of the bag holding the a cursed witch's head in it. She didn't even has to search, the stench of that thing made it easy for her to know exactly where it was. The previous battles had been easy, but something about Farkas made her worry. His beast form was dangerous and appeared larger than the rest of the group, this might affect the battle with this creature. She grabbed her small satchel from her travel bag and walked out of the room. She would not give him any chances to talk her into something she would regret later even if she desired it now.
"Terra!" Farkas shouted at her, but when he realized that she was not going to return to him or answer his call he took to catching up to her. She was across the halls when he finally caught up.
"I wonder if we should take the long way and make you atone for your sins or just slip through the secret passage?" Terra said as she looked over her shoulder at Farkas. "Part of me wants to torture you with the chance of spiders and all wicked creepy crawlers… but it is up to you."
Farkas shivered visibly at the mention of the spiders, "I will follow you."
"Of course," Terra regarded his answer as very weighed. He was truly afraid of spiders and to leave it up to her is him giving in. This was a strategy that she didn't want to expect from him, but he was trying to prove that it didn't matter where she was going he would follow. She sighed as she took him through the secret passage.
"This doesn't seem terrible," Farkas's voice was low, "Thank you…"
Terra was weak to her need of taking care of others. She didn't feel that torturing him for no reason would be prudent so this passage would save them from her wanting to be meanlessly cruel. It was chilly, but not freezing and she had no worries of creatures ambushing them because she cleaned this place out every so often when passing through out of respect. She also noticed that she had less to do since Vilkas was cured. She figured he would come here every so often.
The silence between the two of them was deafening, but she actually prefered that for the moment. His kiss, his argument, and his desire all weighed down on her. She wanted to desperately be with him if only for a moment, but the guilt of making him wait for her was dreadful. Yes, there was an option for him to go with her, but then she would be signing his death warrant and that led her into a different kind of guilt. There was no option that sounded like she would be able to live with herself. Talking to him about these worries would just make him say the same thing again, it didn't matter...it never mattered as long as she was with him, but what about everything he sacrificed. Farkas needed to value himself more and be more selfish.
"What can you offer me, Farkas?" Terra asked as they got near the lowest chambers where the ritual would take place. She knew lots of things and if they didn't clear the air about them and he went in with a clouded mind then he would surely lose the battle with himself. She wanted to secure his victory for himself.
"Everything," Farkas's single answer spoke volumes.
"That might be adequate for others, but I am not like them," Terra didn't slow her stride as she lead him down the path. He has on some level been selfish by asking her to come there and do this for him, but in honesty she wasn't sure he was doing this for himself or for her. One who was beast often had trouble being able to control the beast later on in life and the urges could cause one to lose control even when one didn't want. She had read enough of the books to understand the curse, not only because she had submitted herself to it, but reading the diaries of the others spelt more out for her. He might have seen Kodlak curing himself as the push he needed to follow his old master, but then to see the woman he was intent on marrying cure herself with no issues might have sealed the deal for him. Though he was not like his brother in many ways, Terra figured even as these twins talked of being so different, there were things that these two were alike on, and for this to be one of them, she wouldn't have been surprised. There was a bond these two had that was far stronger than anything she could understand.
"I can only offer you what I have," Farkas sighed gently. He had been a powerful figure in the Companions and he could handle anything that dealt with fighting, but matching her in word play or ideas were not his strong suit. He wasn't positive what she wanted. She was a mystery to everyone around her. She kept herself shielded and only has few weaknesses. To drag this out as long as she did meant she took his words and feeling either seriously or she was toying with him. For Farkas, either answer didn't matter as long as he was with her. "I don't know what I can do to prove in all the worlds that I am serious about my intention and in the end I know that you are capable of obtaining anything you want and that I am completely useless in the grand scheme of your destiny," he was honest and that hurt. He felt on some level he was admitting defeat and that surely she would leave him after this battle.
The only thing that left Terra's lips was a sound of approval. She had finally got him to admit he didn't know for sure anything that he had been promising her, at least that is how she took it and that was enough for her right now.
"I will not help you unless you request it, this a battle to purge yourself of a beast you have been with for a long time," Terra stated simply, there was nothing more that needed to be said at the moment.
"I understand," Farkas was stoic.
