The walk back to room in the tomb was quiet. The only sounds that could be heard was that of the creaks and steps of darker things that inhabited the tomb and of course, their own footsteps. Terra didn't even bother with keeping her guard up as they had for the most part cleared their path of danger back and forth between the room. This didn't mean they were absolutely safe, but since she had been the one not fighting she had enough adrenaline left to take care of anything that came their way.
Farkas's movements were slow and jittery as he pushed himself forward toward a single goal. He looks like he was one of the draugr that roamed the halls of old tombs. His eyes sunken and his body language was that of someone who had seen too much and simply wished to pass in peace. His mind was preoccupied with something and he made no attempt to communicate anything so those things remained secret.
Terra had thought he might have been talkative and demanding to live life renewed just as Vilkas had been, but just because they were twins it didn't mean that their reactions would have been the same. She knew this, but maybe she had hoped he would come back to himself quickly, instead of this husk like creature that was shuffling before her. Had the negativity of the creature's head affected him differently? While his brother had come to grips with his lustful feelings, what had Farkas come to grips with? He never attempted anything. She felt a ping of sadness and anger for herself. She had worked hard to make herself the least important thing in his life and right now, she was upset that it had worked. She chuffed at herself and her stupidity.
Once in the room, she decided to guide Farkas to his bed. She removed his weapons and everything that wasn't necessary for sleeping. He felt feverish and so she left to gather items to help cool his body down after she had made him comfortable. She wouldn't have to go far because of the snow all around the tomb. She could soak clothes and bring them in for him. So that is what she did. She attempting to make him as comfortable as possible considering he made no attempt of any kind to communicate pleasure or pain. He would sigh whenever she changed out the clothes for colder ones, but other then that he did nothing. He appeared to be in a fitful sleep that was not productive, but she was unsure how to help so she simply left to get more clothes.
The struggle Terra always returned to was her own weakness. She was afraid, she was always afraid. Fear ruled everything that she did and what she completed. Fear drove her existence and even now she was afraid. It didn't matter how much she did for others, there was nothing that could calm her fear and that is what she was disappointed with. She could cure lycanthropy, assassinated emperors, defeat dragons, take on the world, but she feared the defeat and vulnerability of love.
"THIS IS STUPID!" Terra shouted to the sky. She had come back out into the snow to cool all the clothes she had gathered and she was shivering so bad she was struggling to gather the cold clothes, but it wasn't from the cold. She was doing all of this, but couldn't bring herself to settle on a decision about him. She had strain to get him to do the dirty work of staying away, but he refuses and that makes it so difficult. She didn't want to be the enemy in her own head and yet there she was dripping with hatred for herself. "I've been fighting against everything that could destroy everyone and the world and yet… I'm the poison that has been killing myself slowly. I have no hesitation to save other because they truly don't know what is out there, but I'm out there and even with the justification of saving everyone, I have never included myself as part of the saved. I'm just a casualty in the grand scheme...but am I okay with that? The abuse I endure is for all others and yet I am the worst abuser to myself." This enlightened moment simply muddled her thoughts worse instead of bring her comfort. It was easy to change a mission, an outcome, a foretold fate, but it was impossible for her to grasp the concept to change herself.
She returned with the cold clothes and slowly wiped Farkas down. She was doing her best to make him relax. He was truly having trouble with the lost of his beast self. She hadn't thought it was going to torment him so much to lose something like that. This thing if not embraced could cause a poison, so when he asked to be cured she didn't question it, but now. She was struggling to understand if he was so reliant on such a thing why not just embrace it as it was apparently part of himself, deeper than anyone could have realized.
"Terra…" Farkas whispered softly. "Stay… I…"
Delusional fever dreams, Terra frowned. She could easy the pain with some healing spells, but she has a feeling that this is something he has to do for himself and did not want to hinder the healing process. Instead, she slowly interlaced their fingers together and she laid next to him in hopes that would easy his plight. It appeared that once he felt her warmth he eased into a deeper, healing sleep. If one was not paying attention one would have thought he was in a coma. His breathing slowed, his limbs stopped shifting and moving, and his face eased into one of a serene bliss.
Terra snorted at his reaction to her being near. This man who had chased her, saved her, fought for her, and supposedly worshipped her simply accepted the poison that was her and never questioned it when she gave that to him to drink. He had taken everything she appeared to be before him and embraced it. She could feel herself getting sick, this thought churned her stomach so bad. She never deceived him and had she really been determined to rid of him once and for all why not sleep with others, why not take Cicero's offer? They would have been a deadly force and would have the underground world quaking with fear, even taking in account of his madness, he was devote. She shivered at the thought of that cursed man's lust and desire, while it would have been fulfilling in one way, it would have been lacking in others. And this continued as she went through all others that had been presented to her as possible partners, they always lacked something and she couldn't figure out what it was.
