Terra worked in silence as she stacked all the firewood inside the tomb. She was feeling a lot lighter now. She had come to an arrangement in her mind. Farkas was truly wonderful person and he cared about her, this was just the fact of the matter. She was going to embrace this idea. He had a right to love who he wanted and she couldn't stop him from loving her no matter what she did, so instead of denying this she would accept him. She would work at appreciating him for what he is, a man in love with her. While she was self deprecating, Farkas would fight her over that view of herself. He didn't appreciate how she viewed herself and didn't hesitate to say so, instead of ignoring this about her, he would fight her head on and try to get her to love herself.
Now that she had taken care of keeping them warm, she could now focus on other matters. She didn't have to get close to her clothes to know that she stank. Coughing softly she decided that she would take snow and melt it down to wash clothes and take a cloth bath. Now, she smelled because of the work she had finished doing, but she had a feeling Farkas probably didn't smell like flowers either. Hopefully she had enough soap.
Farkas would shift and moan gently, but seemed to be doing better. He hadn't been running a fever so she put that to luck. He had allowed her to strip him to nothing with ease. While he was under a lot of furs that didn't mean he wasn't going to be cold so she was wash him up first.
She has scooped warm water into a pitcher and moved over to him so that it would be easy to wipe him down. While wiping someone didn't normally take much thought she was trying to be careful to keep him warm while cleaning him up, but this did allow her mind to try and strategies on what would be next. He would be starving once he woke up, but for now she had just been munching on dried fruits and veggies. She was saving the meat for when he woke up, he would need a lot of meat to fill up and recover better. After she wiped him down, before covering him back up she dried him quickly and dressed him in some light clothing.
She could hear the clothing boiling with some soap now so the room had a floral scent gliding through the room. The scent was better than the musty and dungy smell that assaults the senses. If she could clean the place up better then it could be rather pleasant in an odd fashion. Though she figured it would be bad form to up and move into the tombs of the ancients of the Companions.
When Terra finished making sure that Farkas was comfortable, she turned her energy to herself. She washed slowly, she was taking pleasure in the warm water being ran over her skin. There was nothing better than washing up after hard work. The soap felt nice gliding over her skin and the bubbles formed in places she concentrated on scrubbing. Once she rinsed herself, she moved closer to the fire to dry off. With a brush, she slowly worked through her hair, gently removing the tangles.
"If I didn't have such a hard on, I would have thought I died," Farkas voice came out softly.
Terra jumped slightly. She hadn't expected to hear him. "You startled me," she had a hand over her heart, feeling it beat quickly. "How are you feeling?"
Farkas struggled to move, but kept an eye on her, "I feel like I've been asleep for years."
Terra laughed softly, "It's only been a few days. Once I finish my hair, I'll get dressed, and start on making you something to eat."
"Oh, don't bother with the clothing," he chuckled gently and tried to shift his weight but wavered a bit before managing to sit upright. "I mean, I'm starving, but clothes just get in the way."
"If you think I am crazy enough to cook naked by an open fire, I should knock some sense into you," she said as she worked on braiding her hair.
"I haven't had much sense so I doubt you could knock any more into me," he smiled at her back as she finished up the braid.
When Terra turned toward him, Farkas sucked in air through his teeth. He was unsure of what had happened to her, but she seemed different, she was strikingly beautiful. She had always been attractive, but at that moment he couldn't take his eyes off of her. He watched her carefully as she worked on getting dressed. He felt like she felt lighter almost like she was floating as she walked. "Did something happen while I was out of it?" he was careful in wording his question, worried that he would ruin her mood.
She stopped and thought for a moment before shaking her head, "No, not much." She went back to gathering items together for making a meal, "Sorry, our clothes are being cleaned right now so I'll warm the meat by fire, but I'll make stew for dinner, but right now just a collection of meats, cheese, veggies is a good option for you." She would stop in her prepping to stir the clothing to make sure that it was still cleaning.
"You're boiling our clothes…" Farkas watched as she stirred.
"You smelt terrible, something of a mix of a dead bear and dragon, I think. So I bathed us and started boiling the clothes with soap. Bonus is that our room smells better than a tomb… which I mean it is, but better," she laughed softly as she gathered the items on a platter and brought it to Farkas.
He eyed her carefully as he took a piece of meat from the platter she had set before him. Slowly he chewed and enjoyed the flavors that entered his mouth. He was still tired, but knew he needed to eat for him to recover. "I am feeling lighter," he said after he swallowed.
"Good, now that the beast is gone, you can rest without the constant gnawing urge to go on the hunt," Terra popped a piece of cheese into her mouth. "Your mind becomes clear and understanding comes easier I think."
"Terra," Farkas was still unsure of her manner at the moment, "Just because I don't have the urge to hunt and I am not clouded with the desire to run wild, doesn't change anything else. I am clear headed and I know more than before that I am yours."
Terra made a strange sound as she sucked in air through her teeth, "Farkas, I promise, we can talk about our feelings once you are well. For now, eat, rest, and enjoy the quiet. We have lots to do, but right now nothing is bothering us." She moved back to the clothing and began removing them from the water. She used a spear to pull the clothing out slowly as the water was extremely hot.
"You still can't be honest with me?" Farkas voice came out weak as he pushed some cheese into his mouth.
"I can and will. Right now, your mind is finally clear so while before you often felt like you were wandering in a fog, now it is clear and your mind is trying to fill that clarity with things to keep busy. I am telling you to slow down," she wrange the clothes out, she was removing as much water as she could before hanging the items on a makeshift clothes hangers. She had taken rope and ran it across the room near the heat of the fire. She busied her hands with placing the clothing in optimal positions for drying.
"Terra, I will rest when you give me…" Farkas was impatient at the moment, he felt like he could sleep for a week and he knew if he didn't get an answer from Terra at that moment he wouldn't be able to rest.
"I love you," Terra shouted from behind the clothing, but continued to hanging the clothing. "Now finishing eating and go to sleep. I will not continue this conversation."
Farkas began coughing as he choked on his cheese.
Terra dropped the last of the clothes and rushed to slap him on the back to help him. "Stupid, you are suppose to chew before swallowing. Gods be damned, you are an idiot at times." The echoes of her slapping his back rang in their ears.
Farkas finally was able to take a clear breath and couldn't say anything. He watched as Terra hurried and grabbed a deer skin from their packs.
"Here, drink, and clear your throat," she shoved the deer skin into his hands and moved back to dusting and hanging the clothes that were left.
