Farkas followed behind Terra and while there was nothing sexy about her dragging his disgusting bedding, there was something about her taking charge without hesitation. This wasn't a new observation, but it got him hard every time. He had to take a breather for a moment as just taking the snow and buckets had worn him out more than he thought it would. With this pathetic stamina there wouldn't be any way he could perform in any satisfactory manner. She was voracious on a good day, she would knock him unconscious if he attempted to please her in any manner that she would enjoy. He let out a frustrated huff as he noticed she beat him outside even with dragging the bedding.

He thought back to when he had dealt with Vilkas, his brother hadn't been as drained as he was right now. Shouldn't twins share more abilities? Even though he wasn't as intelligent as his dear brother, he was far stronger in other areas. He chuffed at himself, he was jealous of a man that wasn't even here and hadn't even had a chance with the woman that was infatuating his body and soul. He had to keep reminding himself that he had been one with Terra even if it had just been a moment in time, he had been able to be with her in a vulnerable fashion.

When he finally reached the light from the tomb, he could feel himself beginning to feel more energetic. Even in this cold he felt warm and happy and it was thanks to the woman before him. Suddenly panic took over as he realized that she had actually set the bedding on fire.

"Terra!? Terra?! What have you done?!" he had dropped the buckets and rushed over to where there was now a large fire where his bedding had been laid out. "What am I going to sleep on? We didn't bring extra bedding or sleeping bags!"

Terra raised an eyebrow at him and scoffed at him for a moment, "When has any of that bothered you before. You can use my bed. I need to travel to a nearby town to get us some items anyway. You can bath in private and take your time with everything. I left plenty of food and there is clean water to drink. You should be fine."

"Terra, there isn't...can't I...we can just leave," Farkas was shaken by her calm response about her leaving again.

"Ha," she was staring at the flames, "You need more rest. You were so tied to your beast that you haven't regained yourself fully yet. What do you think would happen if we ran into a dragon?"

Farkas felt guilty. He had never felt truly useless before, but what she said hurt in a way he wasn't familiar with. He sucked air through his teeth because he honestly didn't have a good argument against what she said.

Terra watched him from the corner of her eyes. She had said something not nice, but true. "Look Farkas, this isn't a game, I am not gambling with your life. I couldn't be happy with myself if you were killed because of my…" She bit her lip for a moment and then said it, "I couldn't take the fact that I got you killed. You are one thing that ties me down to reality. I need you."

Farkas stared at her before turning away. He could feel his cheeks burning. Why was she saying all this now? He flexed his fists slowly trying to think and understand.

"I will be going to the Blades soon," Terra turned to him, even if he couldn't face her, she could still show that she was giving him all her attention.

Farkas sucked in air so fast he was coughing from the cold burning his lungs.

"They are the last obstacle for me to meet my fate," she laughed weakly. "That's not fair to say, but really it is a burden."

He felt his eyes watering as she was saying things. He was trying to focus on her, but it was like she was trying to say goodbye again and this time he wouldn't be strong enough to stop or follow her. He tried not to cry but something inside of him felt like he was going to burst and nothing else made sense then to cry.

Terra walked over to him and began to slowly wipe away the stream that had been going down his cheeks. She said nothing as she wiped them away. "It's not good bye."

"What else is it then?" he whispered as he slowly looked down at her trying to force himself to meet her eyes. He was afraid, he amonished himself internally. Here was the woman he loved and he was afraid of her.

"I will go check them out, make sure there is nothing fishy going on, while rumors say they are good at their job, that doesn't mean they are honorable…" she hadn't walked away or pulled her hand away. She had to explain it. She had to be clear with him. He deserved to be told everything and she was trying her best.

"What?" he wasn't understanding her at all.

"I can't have you losing your honor because you followed me," Terra tried to smile, but it was lost in her face of seriousness. "I know that even though I got rid of your beast you can still hunt me down like a little lost puppy, so …" she took a breath as this was a large step, "you will join me on this adventure, but you can't yet so when you are strong enough I will…"

"Marry me," Farkas didn't let her finish her sentence, thought, or anything else. He got down on his knee and took her hands from his face. "I can't think any time better. You have everything and nothing to lose. Give me the one thing that I want, Terra. I want nothing else. You could leave me in the dark, but as long as I have your heart I can go on blind to everything else…."

"No," Terra growled out the answer. "No, that is not what this can be. I don't need someone who sits at home waiting for me, hoping that I survive. I want….need …," she paused as she found her fear and took hold of it, it wasn't going to control her anymore, "I must have someone who is my partner in my misery."

Farkas gasped slowly as he stared at her. She hadn't said no to marry me, but to the idea he had tried to force onto her. He hadn't thought of it as a partnership, just a manner of someone that would be waiting. He had said it before that he would follow her, but that wasn't what she wanted.

"Terra I can….I will," Farkas tried to respond but was so tongue tight he couldn't get the words out.

"Shut up," Terra let go and moved back to the fire and coughed as the winds had changed and blew the smoke into their faces. "I haven't answered you."

Farkas sighed, "But it wasn't no." He was trying not to get excited.

"What if I told you I wanted both of you?" she looked like she was focused on something far away. "If I wanted the twins? You both seem to have proven that I wouldn't have a cold bed. Or if I went to the jester?"

Farkas had been walking toward her. What was she trying to say? Had she slept with them? No, his wolf would have sense that. She had been kissed by Vilkas at least he thought he saw them kiss, but that jester… he could feel the hair rise on the back of his neck, he had been in her room. Who was to say she hadn't been with them? "No, I couldn't handle anyone touching you ever," he answered honestly. "While I think there are fantasies about three people together, I will not give you to anyone."

"And if I have slept with others?" Terra's voice was flat.

"I have, you haven't held it against me, why would I do the same to you? As long as we were just with each other after marriage, I have no issues," Farkas felt selfish for responding this way, but it was true and he felt that was the correct way to respond.
