These are just some dribbles I jotted down to a song I have stuck in my head. Okay, so maybe I won't put the lyrics here…tee, hee. The plot of these paragraphs, though inspired by the lyrics, is my own.
It was dusk. Yami was staring at the sky with eyes that matched its intensity. "I love you." It was a whisper. I winced. I meant for it to be louder, really, I did. Yami turned his gaze onto me.
"I love you too Yugi." He murmured. His hand tightened on mine and he smiled that little smile that showed his thoughts contained nothing of me.
I smile back in defeat. I've failed again.

"I know. I know." His tears ran down his face and dripped onto his silver hair.
"No you don't! You never have and never will." I watch him and I see the pain his feels. I see it, and I don't understand it. Didn't I just say I love you?
"You can't understand me, 'Kura. You're just like all the others. I can't be with you. I'm sorry."
And, just like that, I understand one thing perfectly clear.
I'm not good enough.

The door closed behind gently. He was waiting. Moonlight fell on his tanned skin and illuminated the tears falling. I dread this.
"I know I lied." He smiled, bitter and sweet.
"Again." It is a emotion I find hard to describe.
Not again. I'm sorry. These words always freeze on my tongue. "You always promise, my darkness." The moment just hangs. The silence is deafening.
I'm sorry. Just say it!
In case you couldn't tell, the first one was Yami and Yugi(duh), the second Bakura and Ryou, the third Marik and Malik(this is the first time I've ever used them as main characters). Thanks for reading!
