-Birthdays-

There was nothing that Boris hated more than Birthday shopping. Well, yes, he hated plenty of things more than Birthday Shopping, but at that moment, he could not think of one to name.

In a few days, his captain and best friend was going to finally become legal.

And Boris had no idea what to get him.

At first he thought of buying roses, a bottle of vodka, and confessing to Yuriy that he loved him, but the idea was overly sweet and way too romantic for his taste.

Besides, Yuriy would never let him live it down.

Boris was certain that he was going to tell Yuriy, how much the red head secretly meant to him, but that was not enough. He wanted to get something materialistic that could commemorate the night, which would hopefully include them getting together. Yet, nothing he stopped to look was befitting of what was to come.

Sergei had already decided that he was getting Yuriy a painting that they had seen in a local gallery. The artwork was expensive, but it depicted an alpha male wolf, leading his pack through the harsh winters. It was a tribute to all their hardships over the last few years.

Ivan didn't want to get his captain anything over sentimental, and so instead, he got Yuriy bits of his favorite things: his favorite cd, dvd, cologne, chocolates and a bottle of vodka for the four of them to down, in a few nights.

And Boris was still clueless and frustrated.

When the big day arrived, all three friends woke Yuriy up with breakfast in bed. There was a combination of eggs, bacon, ham, pancakes, hash browns, and French toast. They took him out, all over Moscow that day, stopping to do fun things along the way. They went to the arcades, the movies and their last stop was a bar to celebrate. By suppertime, they headed to a fancy restaurant, a little drunk mind you, before stumbling back to their apartment.

Yuriy smiled genuinely as his friends offered him their gifts and more drinks at the same time. Blue eyes turned to Boris expectantly, and the curve in his lips soon became a playful smirk.

''So what did you get me, Borya?''

''Close your eyes...''

And Yuriy did so, as his curiosity got the better of him. Boris slid over, closer to his friend and despite Sergei and Ivan, watching him, he pressed his lips to Yuriy's and kissed him with all the passion he had been hiding over the years.

''Happy Birthday, Yuriy.'' He murmured quietly against the redhead's mouth and pulled away to see Yuriy blush in embarrassment.

He went to speak, but the doorbell cut him off.

This time, Boris smirked.

''Go answer it, Yuriy. Your real gift is waiting for you...that was just a teaser.''

Yuriy had no idea that Kai was standing on the other side of the door, holding a Siberian husky puppy, in his arms.

It took Boris a while, but he finally figured that a pet would be a great way to get Yuriy in bed.

And to, you know... show him how much he means to him.
