Season 1 Episode 6:

(A man visits Eureka, and Conrad doesn't want to talk to him, you guessed it, his dad. And more trouble goes around when every woman is hooked on him.)

Conrad was at some kind of lecture about preventing sexual harassment. He wasn't really paying attention to what Doctor Young was saying, he was never a fan to talk about men harassing women, or the other way around. But most of the stuff he knows. Especially if you were a very paranoid child once upon a time. Once her lecture was complete, she called Conrad and Jo up to do an act.

Without complaining, he got up and a vertical version of the Sherriff's Office appeared. He was told to sit on the desk. While Jo was reading a file. "It's hot today." Conrad started. Jo only said: "Uh-huh.". Conrad looks at her. "Very hot.". Jo looks at him. "Excuse me?". Conrad did his best to hide his blush. But he couldn't help himself. "Do I have to do this!?".

Doc Young then ended the simulation. "Well, now that we have a perspective on a sexual harassment act, shall we thank Deputies Baird and Lupo for their participation." She said clapping lightly. After the lecture, Allison had a job for Jack and Conrad.

"Doctor Stone has been reported missing when he didn't attend the weekly suege system update yesterday, and it started problems. Fargo claims the toilet exploded when he was using it.".

That made both Conrad and Jack laugh. Allison continued. "The suege system is based on the human digestive system, that's why we have a Biologist on the checking.".

Conrad and Jack sorted it out. Jack will help Henry in the tunnels, while Conrad asks Doctor Stone's wife of his disappearance. He was having tea with the wife. "Does your husband disappear often?" Asked Conrad.

Misses Stone nods at him. "Sometimes, some men play golf, others collect coins, my man loves his tunnels. He sometimes can be down there for days.". Conrad had to admit, it sounded strange, but this is Eureka, nothing is normal here. "Must be tough on the marriage." He suggested. Misses Stone only said: "Bob said that marriage is beautiful and complicated. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." she said.

Conrad then said: "He sounds like a romantic.". But deep down, he knew something was off. Oh well, too early to start pointing fingers. He asked the wife how does Doctor Stone's routine went. So his first stop was Café Diem.

Vincent, his usual friendly self walked up to him and said: "Morning Deputy, regular coffee, cream with two sugars?". Conrad nods. "You read my mind.". As Vincent was working on it, Conrad started working on his leads. "Hey uhmm, did Doctor Stone come by recently?". Vincent had to think for a second. "No, not yet. Strange though, he comes by everyday.".

Conrad nods. "Anything else acting stra-" he never ended his sentence for in the corner of the Café was a man. "Vincent, give me a minute.". Conrad walked up to the man. "You could've called you know?" he said. The man looks up at Conrad. "Would you answer?".

Conrad shook his head. "No.". He then sat down. "What are you doing here dad?".

DAD?! You heard me correctly. The man looks at him. "It's been a while." he said. Conrad scoffed. "Last time I saw you, you said you were disappointed in me.". Conrad's father sighs. "I was only shocked you followed the same road as your uncle.".

Conrad scowled at him. "Uncle Ernest was more of a father to me then you would ever be." He spitted out the words. At that moment, Conrad's PDA rang. "Deputy Baird. On it.". In a few minutes, he met up with Henry and Jack in the tunnels.

"Welcome to the bowels of Eureka." Henry proclaimed as a joke. Conrad only laughed at it. "So, anything?" he asked. Jack shook his head. "From what I understand, we are missing some data.". Henry nods. "Yes, but most of the data we are missing are service, my men are drilling holes to release the gas. It could buy us some time, but we need to see if Doctor Stone is about or we are in trouble.". Conrad nods. "Left, right and then left?" he asked. Henry nods and Conrad went back to the surface.

He walked up to Café Diem to check his list. When he entered, he saw his father at the counter. "Thought you would've been gone by now." He said. Conrad's father spoke up. "Not until I talk to you.". Conrad groaned out loud. "I am on a missing person's case at the moment.".

But as he was about to interview everyone, Zoe walked up to him. "Hello Deputy Baird. What brings you back here?" she asked. Conrad looks at her quite sceptical. "Uhmm, I am trying to find Doctor Stone, any idea where I can find him?" he asked. Zoe snorted lightly. "Hardly, I am more interested in you. Feel free to stop by, Conrad.". But the way she purred his name out freaked him even more out.

"What was that about?" he asked as he sat down. Vincent stood there and answered all the questions he could think of. Conrad's dad was watching him, he was quite surprised to see how good Conrad was at the job.

At that same moment Vincent went back to work, Jo walked in. "Hey Vincent, the usual please.". As Vincent got to work on it. Jo looks over to Conrad who had a small-scale map in his hand. She sat next to him and rested her head on her hand. "I haven't seen you in a while." she said.

Conrad now looks at her quite confused. "What are you talking about?" he asked her. Jo then took his hand. "Me, you, and our… … friendship.". Now Conrad's dad was interested. "There is a rule against this right?" he asked. Conrad shrugged. "I don't know, I never saw her acting like this.".

When Conrad looks back to her, she was trailing her fingers across his bicep. "What are you doing?" he asked a little uncomfortable. But Jo kept her action continued. "I love the way your biceps don't need to flex to show you strength. It's really mesmerizing.".

Conrad shifted his arm. "Uhmm, okay." Was all he said. But then his PDA rang. "Deputy Baird.". Jack was yelling from the tunnels into his PDA. "CONRAD! Get everyone out of Café Diem now! There is an inertial wave heading for the Café building up in the PIZZA OVEN!".

Conrad got up. "On it.". He did as he was told. "Listen up, I need everyone to grab your things and clear out.". Jo was looking at him with a seductive smile. "Help the people to get out." He ordered. Jo then did so. Conrad's dad then helped where he could.

Vincent was a little confused on what to do. "What's happening?" he asked. Conrad then spoke. "There's an inertial wave or something heading for us.". Vincent made a run for the door. But before Conrad, Jo and Conrad's father could leave, the wave hits them and they got flung to the floor.

Conrad sat upward and shook his head lightly. "Ouch.". He looked to his left to see his father was okay so he checked on Jo. He knelt in front of her. "Are you okay?" he asked. But Jo looks at him with a smile. She cupped his cheeks and pulled him in for a kiss. She got it, but Conrad was shocked to the core.

When he got loose, Jo smiles at him. "I am good.". This was a shock to Conrad and to his father.

During the medical team were checking on their patients and others were sorting out the mess. Conrad's father wanted to know what was going on, but Conrad was avoiding his father. He went over to Jo who had an ice pack pressed against her head.

"You feeling, okay?" he asked. Jo sighs at him. "Look, what happened was-" but she got cut of by Conrad. "It's okay, you bumped your head pretty hard. It was in the moment thing.". Jo nods. "Okay. But… … are we still in the moment?" she asked. "Because I really want to try that again.".

Conrad didn't know what to say. "Uhmm, uh. Why don't you go to the Sherriff's Office and rest up a little, I will come check on you later, okay?" he suggested. Jo nodded at him and got up went to the office.

After that he went to talk to Henry and Jack.

Henry was being treated for leg injuries. "I tried but I couldn't stop it. Was anyone hurt?". Conrad shook his head. "Not fatal. But Jo might need to rest up for a bit, especially if my father is in town.". Jack jerked his head up. "You're dad?".

Conrad nods. "He said he wants to talk, but the last time we did, he called me a disappointment for enlisting instead of taking over his company, my sister drove it to the ground. Meaning my dad had to be pulled out of retirement to fix it.".

Jack thought it must be troublesome. "Ouch.".

Conrad snorted. "Yeah, haven't spoken to him sense graduating basic training.". Jack then asked. "When was that?". But all Conrad could do was sigh. "Ten years.". That made both Conrad and Henry wince. "Wow. Must be tough parenting.".

That made Conrad scowl. "He was never there for me, I had to fend for myself. After my dad returned from Vietnam, he just, left me and my mom. Found out a year later he got remarried and owned this Insurance Company. My step-sister was a pain in the ass. After my mom died, he didn't even bother to fight for custody. My uncle ended up adopting me. He was more of a father to me then me real father.".

But his story doesn't end. "Right after High School, he showed up and told me he wants me to take over his position as CEO and owner of his company. When I told him I enlisted in the army, he snapped. Called me a disappointment. I followed my uncle's footsteps. Even if though my dad served in 'Nam, I followed my uncle.".

Both Jack and Henry sighed. "I hope you figure this out. But Henry and I are going back into the tunnels to work.". Conrad nods. "I'll go with you.".

When they arrived, Conrad had to answer a call. It was from Jo. "Baird." He answered. Jo didn't waist a second. "Okay, first of all, I had no idea what the hell happened to me. And I never intended to jump you like that. You believe me, right?".

Conrad chuckles over the PDA. "Relax, you knocked your head pretty good.". Jo sighed in relieve. "So, we're good?" she asked. Conrad spoke back. "Yeah, just uh. Jo, get to GD, I found something.". Conrad ended the call and knelt over to find a skull. With a huge crack.

"The hell happened to you?".

Within the hour, Conrad and Jack were back at GD. "Bones?" asked Allison. Conrad nods. "Yeah, from what I can tell, they got in a fight. They were also covered in this." He held out a small vile filled with some kind of green-yellow particles. Allison took it and held it to a light. "What is that?" she asked. Jack shrugged. "Dunno, but the bones were covered in those things.".

Jo walked in and kept her distance from Conrad. At that same time, Doctor Young walked in too. "Doctor Blake, I need you to sign this please.". She then started staring at Conrad. Which started to become obvious. "You lost something over here?" he asked.

Doctor Young looks at him. "No. Not at all.". Jo then walked over to him and… … smelled him? Conrad looks at her and didn't understand. "What are you doing?" he asked. Jo looks at him. "Oh nothing, it's just that… … I love the way you smell.". Doctor Young then said: "Deputy Lupo, that is a very inappropriate comment.".

"And creepy." Conrad added. Jo kept smelling him. "Mmmmm, you really have a sweet sense.". Conrad then said: "You're in my personal space.". Doctor Young then bumped Jo out of the way. "You had your shot." She then Frenched Conrad. When Conrad broke loose, he was mortified. But Young seemed satisfied. "I have been waiting to do that all day.". Jo then pulled Young out of the way.

"Do that again and I will beat the sh-" but they started a cat fight. Conrad then leaped in to stop them and they started tickling him. "Woah hey stop! Ey! I gotta sit on that!".

A few minutes later, both Jo and Young were sitting down embarrassed. "You alright?" asked Allison. Jo nods. "Yeah, I can't explain it, I just lost control.". Jack asked the same question to Young. "It was horrible.".

"You done?" asked Conrad over his PDA. Jo got up and said: "I don't know what got over me. I thought after Café Diem it wouldn't happen again.". Jack looks at his deputy. "You flirted with him in the café?".

Conrad spoke up. "It's been going on all day. Zoe also flirted with me but I wasn't paying attention.". That made Jack very unhappy. "My daughter flirted with you and you didn't find it weird?". Conrad sighs. "Well, I was busy trying to solve a case, so yeah.".

Allison turned to Young. "Any thoughts?". Young nods. "Well, there are many possibilities, but I am gonna need some samples.". Conrad nods. "You can place me in Taggart's lab. He can run tests on the stuff we found.".

Fargo was in charge on getting Conrad to the lab, while making a huge fuss about it.

In the lab, Conrad sat on the chair and was Taggart was doing his tests. "Well, I know it is some kind of spore, but to know it's real purpose, I injected some into this male rat, and set the female free.". Conrad nods. "Well, I am not a big fan on experimenting on animals so, no comment.". Taggart shrugs. "Most of my experiments are safe with no harm to the animal subject.".

Conrad looks at the female rat. She was sniffing the male. "Jo did that.". Taggart looks at him with a quirked brow. "Smelled your rear?" he asked. Conrad then choked on his shock. "No, she smelled my neck. I was a little sweaty for I was afraid that Doctor Blake would jump me. But she didn't.".

Taggart understood the assumption. "Allison is married.". Conrad then said: "So is Doctor Stone. What if we were looking at this the wrong way?".

Jack went to see if Doctor Stone was in fact home. Fargo went with him. In the house, they walked upstairs and to the master bedroom. When Jack attempted to open it, he got a light shock. Fargo then said: "Low charge fence. I can disarm it; all I need is-" but Jack then only flipped a switch that disarmed it. Fargo then said: "Or just do that.".

When they walked in, they found a man tied up with tape over his mouth. He muffled something. Jack knelt down and took the tape off. It was Stone. "Thank goodness, I thought I was stuck like this forever.".

After freeing him, Jack spoke with Stone. "Can you explain to me what happened?". Stone nods. "So it started two nights ago, we were dating dinner, and Judy was looking across to me, I haven't seen that look in fifteen years. But after I realized I had to get to work, she trapped me. I had no idea what was going on?".

Jack then said: "Did you dome across any weird deposits of some kind?" asked Jack. Stone nods. "Yeah, one of my hobbies are studying fossilized bones. There was a section in the tunnels covered in it.". Jack nods. "Great.".

Stone then said there was sub metre on main street, there he can take readings.

Meanwhile in Taggart's lab, the female rat was getting a little rough, until she ATE the male. That was a shock to both Conrad and Taggart. "Now I am glad I am down here." Conrad said a little mortified. Taggart made the call. "Jack, you need to figure this out fast, it can get violent.".

Jack ends the call. "Fargo, head down to GD and tell Doctor Young to get a cure fast.". Fargo did so. Stone then said: "Oh yikes. This entire suege system is blocked up, if I don't fix it now, exploding toilets are the least of our worries. The whole town can explode.".

Meanwhile, in the lab. Doctor Young was giving the update. "So, your testosterones are producing atleast three-hundred parts per millilitre.". Conrad then said: "Woah what? Isn't that like a lot more then I am supposed to produce?" he asked. Young nods. "Yeah, levels like that can overload the female brain. And then reduce to violence.".

Conrad nods. "So, basically I am Prince Charming.".

Doctor Young then said: "I need some samples.". Conrad then rolled up his sleeve. "Make it quick.". Young then said: "I need something else.". Conrad's eyes widen. "You're kidding?".

Meanwhile, Stone and Henry were trying to fix the system. Which wasn't that hard. Stone did it within a jiffy. Meanwhile, Jack was walking into the lab where he found Conrad sitting on a chair. Jack sat next to him. "You alright?" he asked.

Conrad nods. "My dad just called; he has cancer. In his liver. Same as my grandma before she passed on.". Jack pats him on the back. "Now what?". Conrad shrugs. "My dad just left. Said that's all he had to say.".

Jack then said: "Well, I got you this. It's the antidote.". Conrad nods as a nurse comes in and injects it into him. But Conrad wanted to know: "How didn't you and Henry get infected?" he asked. Jack then pulled out a small spray bottle. "I can't stand the smell in there, so I used this. It's a mask. Blocks the particles. Saved me as well. Biologists are clearing the area of the spores and burning it.".

After Conrad got his shot. He got up and went to speak with Jo.

Jo was in the Office. "You clean?" she asked. Conrad nods. "Yeah. Hey uhmm, about earlier…" but Jo cuts him off. "Was temporarily insanity.". But Conrad didn't buy it. "I like you Jo, a lot. But, I thought all I want is for you to be a friend, but the whole incident with my dad made me realize something. I want to be more then just your friend. So, uhmm… … will you go out with me?" he asked.

Jo couldn't believe it, in her heart she felt the same, but could she? "Promise me one thing, we take it slow." She asked. Conrad nods. "Of course.". Jo shrugs. "What now?". Conrad smirks at her. "I am gonna do this." He cupped her face and kisses her.

Jo returned it. "Wow, fantasizing it was nice, but actually doing it is better.". Conrad nods at her. "Same.".
