Season 1 Episode 7:
(Jo's brothers visit her. But they aren't happy with the fact of her dating Conrad.).
It was around midnight; Jo was getting ready for bed when her phone bleeped. It was who left a message saying: Sleep well.
Jo smiled at the message as she replied: Don't let the bed bugs bite.
She fell sound asleep. The next day she had three messages from her brothers. They apparently were planning on visiting her. Eddie, Juan and Rico were also soldiers who returned from Afghanistan. Jo got up and immediately got dressed, they were driving from the airport on their way to town.
Jo was at the station where she was supposed to meet them. Jack was the first to arrive. He saw her and asked her: "You alright?". Jo nods. "Yeah uhmm, my brothers are coming to town, and you know how I am dating Conrad? I haven't told anyone.".
Jack nods as he sipped on his coffee. "Yeah, I know. I caught you two making out in here yesterday, remember?". Jo blushed at the memory.
Later that morning, Jo was doing her usual thing when three men walked in. "Hey sis." one said. Jo got up and jumped the three men. "Eddie! Juan! Rico! It's great to see you again.". So, her brothers were here, now it was a matter of others.
The siblings spoke for about an hour when Jo's PDA rang. She answered it. Conrad had trouble at main street. Jo and her brothers got there and saw that Conrad sunk into the road, waist up. As GD personnel were cutting him out of the road.
Conrad waited. Jo only giggled at the sight, crouching down she was at the pissed off Deputy's side. "What happened?" she asked. Conrad shrugged. "Some moron changed the road into a sinking field. Now they have to cut me out.".
The brothers look at the guy. "Who's this?". Conrad saluted lightly. "Deputy Baird.". When Conrad was freed, Jo offered him a helping hand. He got up and wiped some of the tarmac off of his clothes. Jo then decided to bring out the news. "Guys, this is Conrad, my boyfriend.".
Boyfriend? The brothers were hell confused. "Is this a usual thing for you? Getting stuck in the road?" asked Rico. Conrad shook his head. "Nope. Today was just my luck.". The brothers glared at him with venom. Conrad knew they didn't like him, but he just ignored that part.
Another call was made, apparently Taggart was trapped in one of his traps he placed up. Conrad and Jo arrived and found Taggart hanging upside-down. "Oh, hello. Care to cut me down?". Conrad then told Jo to stand back. He then climbed the tree until he was above the rope. Taking his pocket knife, he sawed through the rope. Taggart then fell on the ground on his back. Conrad then dropped himself and landed in a crouch position.
Taggart got up and thanked Conrad. Conrad shook the Australian's hand and walked up to Jo who was smiling. "Nice work.". Conrad smirks at her. "Thanks.". Jo then decided to kiss him in front of her brothers. The brothers still didn't like him.
At Café Diem, the brothers were watching both their sister and her boyfriend. When Jo had to use the facility's, Eddie was the first to speak. "Alright blondie, what is your interest in our sister?". Conrad seemed confused. "She's, my girlfriend. I care about her.". Juan then said: "You the Military guy who got discharged for disobeying orders?" he asked. Conrad nods. "Yeah.".
Juan then said: "We don't except disgraces in our family.". Conrad then said: "Disgrace?" he then nailed Juan's hand to the table. "Listen here buddy, I disobeyed orders to save the lives of seven children from being caught in a bomb attack on a day-care centre. I have over fifty kills on my first tour. Survived being blown up, shot by an RPG, landslide, you name it. Does that make me a disgrace?".
Rico then said: "We just want our sister to be with someone worthy.". Conrad quirked a brow. "You can say all you want, she chose me. And if she did so, there isn't much you can do about it.". Jo walked in and Conrad eyed the brothers one last time.
"So, how long have you two been sleeping with each other?" asked Rico. Both Conrad and Jo looked at him in shock. "Oh no. We never went that far." Jo said. Conrad nods. "The relationship is still new.". All three brothers then shook there heads.
If they were gonna get rid of Conrad, they would have to do better then this. Jo's PDA rang and she answered immediately. "Lupo. On it.".
This time, a huge problem occurred at the biological department in GD. And a giant ant was threatening the town. Jo grabbed the biggest gun she could find; Conrad went for a grabbling hook launcher. And his knife. Jack grabbed a dart gun. The brothers followed.
The ant was huge. Around a thousand times bigger then any other ant. The brothers were in shock. "What is that thing!?" Eddie screamed. Conrad cocked his head. "Trouble.". Jack shot it with a dart but only to see it bounce off. Jack lowered the weapon and nods. "Of course.".
Jo shot it a couple times, which pissed it off.
Conrad was planning his move. Seeing the dump truck and the ant's leg, he got an idea. "Jack, get in that dump truck. Hook this end of the grappling hook and drive on my mark. Jo, I need you to focus all fire on its eyes. I'll hook this guy up with this gun of mine.".
They all got to work. The one end was hooked to the truck and Conrad shot the other end through the ant's leg. As Jack drove the opposite direction, tugging on the leg. Jo fired at its eyes. Conrad took his knife and ran up the leg, over the body and to the head.
With a powerful blow, he cuts right through the monster's head. It dropped dead. Conrad crawled out of the ant's blood and slipped and landed on his ass. The brothers walked over to him. He expected them to harass him, but instead, they helped him back on his feet.
"We were wrong. You are made of stuff we never saw before." Said Juan to him. Conrad shook hands with the brothers and Jo then hugged him tight. The townsfolk gathered around and cheered to their heroes.
A huge party was held that night, but not everyone was at it. Conrad was standing outside and watching the moon. Jo walked up next to him and connected hands with him. "You don't want to go inside?" she asked. Conrad shook his head. "Nah not really.". Jo nods and rested her head against his arm.
