Season 2 Episode 2:
(A skilled hacker is brought back to Eureka, with a small history with Jo.).
New York city, home to over one million people. A man sat on a chair with a computer hacking a bank. Within seconds a huge deposit was placed into an Orphanage fund. But as he was about to leave he heard: "FBI! Don't move!". The man made a run for it. Jumping over cars driving through the street. Only to be caught by a lucky cop.
The man was now in an interrogation room where he sat. He saw a vent and decided to make a run for it. But before he could get up, the door opened and Allison walked in. "Mister Donovan.".
Zane Donovan.
He frowned and asked: "Sending me back to Eureka?". Allison nods. "Yes we are.". Zane shrugs as he got up. "Better then being thrown in jail.".
Jo walked in at the Sherriff's Office to find both Jack and Conrad gone. She finds a note on her desk in Conrad's handwriting. It said: One of Taggart's flocks went nuts, thought you wanted to know. Jo giggled. This guy she is dating, knows her too well.
As she was sitting down, Allison walked in with a cuffed Zane. Zane winks at her. "Hey Jo-Jo.". Jo does not look amused. "Why is he back?". Allison sighed deeply. "I know you don't like him that much sense the break-up, but we need him with the recent computer glitch.". Jo then said: "Please don't let me have to babysit him, I already have enough on my plate.".
Zane then said: "Maybe skimp on the veggies and start with the main course?" he asked in a seductive tone, which didn't make Jo laugh. Instead, she kicked him into the jail cell. Zane landed on his rear end and then got up. "That's not very kind of you.".
A few hours later, Jo was bored out of her mind, Zane was sitting there and making pop sounds. That's until the door flung open and a pissed of Conrad covered in geese-shit walked in. "Geese! Why does it have to be geese!?". Jo couldn't help but laugh. "Got a little poop over yourself.". Conrad then said: "A little? It's everywhere!". He then turned to the jail cell and saw a guy in there. "Who's that?". Jo then stood up: "Zane Donovan, and he's trouble.".
Conrad snorted. "I can tell by the boot mark on his trousers.". Zane then dusted it off with his hand. "So, you're new I guess? Another one of them robo-cops?". Conrad then said: "Nope, I am real. Very much real.". Jo then took a napkin and wiped some of the geese-shit off of his face. "Get cleaned up, I want to kiss that mouth of yours later.". Conrad nods as he left for the lavatory.
Zane then said: "Kiss? Is he your new boyfriend?" he asked. Jo then nods at the obviously jealous man. "Yeah. He is. Got a problem with it?". Zane shook his head. "No, just, unexpected.". Twenty minutes later, Conrad walked out in a fresh uniform, he smelled a lot better too. He still had a sent of gunpowder and engine grease. But she liked it. Or he guesses so.
When he was sat at his desk, he looked over to see Jo sitting on top of her desk instead of in the chair. He then paid attention on how this Zane guy was eyeing her. He let his eyes narrow down to slits. He had a gut feeling saying that this guy is trouble.
His thought pattern was interrupted when Jo spoke up. "Hey Conrad, how about we head off and see what Carter's up to, I haven't heard from him for a while.". Conrad then swapped his evil glare to a kind smile. "Okay, what about this guy here?".
Jo turned to watch Zane. "As long as we don't give him anything, he won't cause any trouble.". Leaving, Zane tried to get their attention. "Guys? I can't just sit here! Guys?".
As the two were walking, Jo held his hand. It was obvious to the town, everyone already knew of their relationship. "So, do you have plans for tonight? I was thinking we could have a movie night.". Conrad thought on it, having an excuse to have Jo laying in his arms all comfortable was too much to pass. "What movie?".
Jack was in the infirmary, Fargo fell down the stairs and has a fractured shin. He kept flinching every time Allison tried to treat the wound. So she asked Jack to hold his leg in place. "Wonder what Conrad and Jo is up to.".
To answer that question, they were currently sitting on the grass, in front of a pond. Jo's head resting on his shoulder. "Man I needed this break, Zane has been driving me crazy.". Conrad chuckled. "Yeah, ex-boyfriends can do that.".
Jo now looked him in the eye. "How did you know?". Conrad smiles. "I learn pretty quick. And there is no need to be ashamed, everyone has a bunch of ex's. Trust, me during my time as a Warehouse Agent, I got dumped. But, I guess I knew that relationship wasn't going to last long, because I always knew my heart belonged with someone else.".
Jo didn't know how to respond, did Conrad just say that he loves her? "Are you saying that…" but Conrad smiled. "I am.". Jo then pounced him and made him lay on his back on the soft grass. She kissed him and he returned it. "I am getting more then I bargained for.".
Zane was bored out of his mind. That's until Carter walked in. "Where the hell are my deputies?" asked the semi-angry Sherriff. Zane shrugged. "Dunno. And before you ask, I didn't do anything.". Carter scoffed. "Well! I got a massive computer glitch at GD! Fargo can't fix it! And I need my two deputies! Where are they!?".
Carter drove to the pond, where he saw his two deputies making out on the grass, Jo's jacket was zipped open while Conrad's shirt was unbuttoned. Carter honked on the horn, making his two deputies jump. He waved them over.
Arriving at GD, Carter made sure they didn't try to escape. "Where are you guys when I need you!?". Conrad then stepped forward. "Look, it was my idea, I wanted to get away from Zane, she just tagged along.". Carter groaned. "Later, right now, we got to stop a computer glitch from setting of any weird stuff.".
Running to the computer mainframe, Conrad went inside but the doors shuts and he can't get through. He then said: "Oh lugnuts.". He then felt his lungs burning. Dropping on the ground he opened his pocket and pulled out a small bottle with a pipe, he placed it over his mouth and took a breath. Jo then ran over to the panel and tried to open the door. It didn't work. "Conrad! We're gonna get you out!". Conrad sat down, his eyelids were getting numb, the lack of oxygen was tiring his brain. Until he knocked out. Jo then turned to a security guard: "Get Zane Donovan, NOW!".
Zane came in. "What's the problem?". He then looked over the panel. "The entire system is backed up. I can't fix it from here, I need to be in there.". Jack then turned to Henry. "Are there any vents that lead into the mainframe?". Henry nods. "Encase of the computers over heating. This vent here, leads into the mainframe.". Zane then grabbed the vent and popped it open. He hopped in and crawled through.
He was halfway when he stopped. "Man, my legs are killing me.". He kept crawling and got in mainframe. He hopped over to the control computer and typed variously. "Come on.". He looked over in the decontamination room, Conrad's vitals weren't looking good. "Uh oh.". He then tried to hack in. "Almost.".
Conrad's vital flat lined. But Zane kept typing. "Not on my watch.". He then pressed enter. The door opened and Jo ran in. Conrad's wasn't breathing. So she paid him flat on his back. Allison ran over. "Okay, I need you to give mouth to mouth to him, I have to give CPR.". As she pressed hard on his chest, Jo blew air in his mouth. By the fifteenth try. Conrad shots up and gasped deeply. "Am I dead?". Jo hugged him. "I thought I lost you.". Conrad hooked his arm tight around her. "I was there for a second.".
Zane just finished fixing the glitch. Allison was standing behind. "You saved a man's life.". Zane shrugged. "He would've done the same for me.". Allison rolled her eyes. "I think you are ready to come back here, what do you say?".
Zane thought on it. "Do I get my old lab back?". Allison nods with a smile. "Sure.".
Meanwhile, Conrad and Jo were at his place watching The Terminator. Jo was latched onto him. Conrad could care less. "Thanks for saving my life.". Jo then said: "I couldn't have done it without Zane.". Conrad smiled. "I guess I have to thank him too then.".
And they sat there.
