Adrien was awoken by his alarm normally getting up this early was no big deal for him, he was used to it, his schedule was packed like always it was Saturday so that meant Photo Shoots, Chinese Lessons, More Photo Shoots and then Fencing Lessons but he was tired, visiting Kagami and fighting Anansi meant he didn't sleep until 4 and he had to get up at 6. He slipped out of bed and got ready only to be interrupted by Plagg.

"Tired?" The cat mocked hovering just in front of Adrien. "Save it Plagg I don't need a lecture about staying up late" Adrien pushed past him on his way to the door. "No Lecture kid Just one word Hypocrite" he stopped at the door turning to look at his kwami. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Just what I said Kagami told you she would talk to you when she was ready and then you go speak to her as Chat Noir but you tell Ladybug not to talk to you until you're ready that doesn't sound hypocritical to you? What happens if she finds out you and Chat Noir are the same person?" Plagg Reasoned feeling like he was wasting his breath.

"She isn't going to find out that's the entire point of a secret identity, besides it's not like Ladybug wants to talk to me anyway" He pushed past Plagg and went to get his breakfast not really listening to whatever else he was trying to say.

Adrien's day had been more or less uneventful; his dad barely spoke to him at breakfast and then he had his pretty standard schedule: He coasted his way through his photo shoots, repeated the same phrases over and over in his Chinese lessons and now he has fencing, one of the few things on his schedule he enjoyed. His dad had promised to show up this time but time would tell, he got into his fencing gear and headed onto the court. He had fully intended to avoid Kagami but rather unexpectedly she approached him.

"Adrien. I think we both know that nobody else in this class can challenge either of us. I'm… not ready to be friends again but i'm not going to let my fencing skills slip over something so small" She spoke in a matter of fact tone that Adrien had heard before, a tone she normally reserved for people she didn't know or she wasn't comfortable around and unfortunately he was now the Latter.

"Pick up your sword and defend yourself" Kagami snapped coldly Lunging at Adrien with her Rapier he narrowly avoided, backing up to try and get some breathing room, she kept her attack moving continuously changing her stance and guard making it difficult for Adrien to react to her. "Hey can't we just talk for a moment" Kagami didn't reply, lunging at him with a series of precise thrusts.

Adrien kept moving, not wanting to stay within Kagami's reach for too long there blades clashed granting him momentary respite he was breathing heavily after Kagami's relentless assault. "I know you're mad at me but it's not going to get any better if you refuse to talk!"

"I don't want to talk!" Kagami yelled in an uncharacteristically emotional outburst she lunged at him again but this time she was frustrated and as a result sloppy Adrien avoided her thrust before lunging at her landing a hit on her chest she looked down for a moment before pulling her Rapier away from Adrien walking away. Adreins eyes wandered to the stands for a moment his dad hadn't shown up after all, he never did really hoping he would was Adrien's Mistake.

In the locker room he decided to give his father a call and perhaps expectedly he didn't answer "This is Gabriel Agreste's Voicemail for any business messaged please call my secretary" Adrien had heard that more times than he could count. At this point his dad answering would be a shock "Hello Father it's just me. I know how busy you are but… I just really thought you'd keep your promise this time. By the way, I beat Kagami, that's a first." He attempted a joke but his heart wasn't in it he sounded defeated. "Well i'll talk to you later, love you. Bye." He hung up before leaning against his locker sighing softly, scary how leaving a voicemail for his father was exhausting to him.

"Saying you beat me is a little generous don't you think? I think a better word would be 'you survived' me" Kagami attempted to joke, she had a chance to cool down after their match. "You probably think I hate you don't you Adrien? Well I don't, maybe I should but I just can't. I don't know what it meant to you but our time together was the happiest I'd been for a while." for a moment her expression softened, but before Adrien could say anything she snapped out of it and looked away. "I'm sure whatever you kept from me is important but a relationship needs to be built on mutual trust, I still want to be friends just not now"

That was what Adrien had wanted right? He wanted to go back to being just friends with Kagami at least that's what he thought so why did hearing her say that sting so much? It was hard to describe Ladybug rejecting him? He could Laugh off but Kagami telling him he had lost his chance to be anything more than friends with her? That hit him hard. He didn't really have time to respond as when he looked up Kagami had left and the weight of his Loneliness was crushing.

The rest of the day Adrien had mostly been going through the motions putting in just enough effort to be passable but not bringing his A Game he was at at his desk trying to focus on meaningless busy work anything to keep his mind occupied. "I know that look kid thinking about what Ice queen said to you huh? Not as okay with the break up as you thought you were?"

"What? No Kagami is great but we're better off as friends" Adrien turned to plagg putting down his pencil Plagg didn't seem quite convinced. "Oh like Marinette is just a friend? Kid I know you're sheltered but it's like you don't even know what a normal friendship is" Adrien was quiet after that he might have a point his only friend for most of his life was Chloe and until recently she was constantly hanging onto him so perhaps he didn't have the greatest understanding of friendship.

"Anyway Kagami just wants to be friends even if I did like her that way it wouldn't matter I Don't have a shot" His spoke wistfully laying down on his bed looking up to the ceiling but his view was blocked by plagg hovering just above Adrien's Face "You don't have a shot but Chat Noir does" Plagg had given Adrien a lot of Bad Advice over the years but that had to be the worst not only was it manipulative it could very easily backfire. "Plagg that's horrible." He sat up giving Plagg a concerned look.

"Not any worse than sneaking into her room late at night" Plagg reasoned floating upside down smirking to himself "of course it'd sound bad if you word it like that, all we did was talk" Adrien spoke a little louder than he intended to but nobody seemed to hear him. "Sneaking into a girls room in the dead of night for a Heart to Heart? Sounds pretty romantic to me." Plagg snickered as he flew around Adrien's head before landing on his shoulder.

"Shut up Plagg" Adrien Lay down and just focused on sleeping. Plagg was wrong, he had to be, He visited Kagami because they were friends not because he liked her that way or not anymore? Did he ever like her that way? Even when they were dating he didn't love her and now that they had broken up? He seemed to like her more. What was that about? He pushed those thoughts aside as he gradually fell asleep.
