Kagami had been feeling a lot better since her talk with Chat Noir and her match against Adrien, she'd lost sure but she wasn't really trying too hard to win it had just been a convenient way to blow of steam and it had worked, she'd told Chat Noir to talk to Ladybug but she had been avoiding a conversation with Adrien it wasn't quite the same thing sure but she had let it bug her for too long, she was just glad her mother hadn't found out about it she would've had a lecture about how She shouldn't let her emotions affect her, Tomoe Tsurugi Wasn't exactly a loving parent something she unfortunately had in common with Adrien.
On a more Positive Note today she had a scheduled Lunch with Marinette she had told her mother about it a week ago and made sure to double check it was still okay yesterday, She had to schedule everything like this she couldn't just decide to go out on the day everything had to be planned ahead of time her mother had to know where she was at all times, to an outsider it just looked like she cared about her but Kagami knew the truth it was about control.
So here she was anxiously waiting for Marinette outside of the Bakery, Marinette wasn't forgetful per se but she seemed distracted often, like she had something important to do, so things tended to slip her mind not a huge deal, worst case scenario she could go into the bakery.
She headed inside it was quiet so it wouldn't take too long to find her. "Hello, Mr. Dupain-Cheng, Is Marinette here? We arranged to meet up outside the bakery today and she is a little late." The Large man turned to face Kagami with his usual welcoming smile, his hands still covered in Flour "No need to be so formal Kagami you can call me Tom, Marinette is in her room feel free to head on through she probably just lost track of time knowing my girl" Kagami simply nodded stepping behind the counter "Thank you sir- I mean Tom" Tom simply laughed before going back to his work, Kagami said a quick Hello to Sabine before gently knocking on the trap door to Marinette's room.
"Marinette? Are you there? It's Kagami" she heard a few things fall over in Marinette's room and something close. "Yeah, I'm here just a second Kagami. I'm still in my pajamas" Came Marinette's muffled response through the door. "Marinette, the girl who went to a movie in her pajamas, doesn't want me to see her?" Kagami quietly mused to herself, she swore she heard a small voice laughing after what she said but the voice wasn't Marinette's.
"Is someone in there?" she asked curiously, still not trying to open the door. "Just a video i'm watching, I'm nearly ready" she heard Marinette's voice getting closer and she opened the trap door. Everything looked normal in her room. Maybe it was just a video Marinette on the other hand didn't look so normal. "Your shirt is inside out and those shoes don't match" Marinette looked down before shrieking to herself.
"Sorry about that give me ten minutes." She held up five fingers. "That's 5" Kagami deadpanned before marinette held up her other five fingers "This Many" Kagami laughed to herself before heading down stairs waiting for Marinette to be ready.

Marinette's ten minutes had turned into twenty but they still managed to get to the cafe, Kagami sipped her coffee as Marinette spun some exaggerated tale as to why she took so long getting ready, Kagami didn't mind that she was late, she was just glad that they got to spend time together "You're luck may be the worst i've ever heard of did you break a mirror or something?"
Marinette sighed softly resting her head on the table. "You don't know the half of it Kagami, How about you? You told me you were working on fixing your friendship with Adrien. How is that going? Unless you don't wanna talk about it of course" Marinette tried to cover, unable to read Kagami's face. Hopefully she wasn't over stepping.
"I never considered you a rival you know, I knew we both liked Adrien but I wasn't going to let that stop us from being friends." Kagami spoke calmly, putting her cup down. "I've been able to talk to him a little. We had a fencing match the other day. I was angry not thinking straight he actually won. I wouldn't say we're back to being friends but I'm not mad at him anymore either." She saw Marinette relax. She hoped that Marinette didn't find her too intimidating.
"Glad to hear you're making Progress Nino told me that Adrien thought you'd never speak to him again." That surprised Kagami somewhat. Adrien was dramatic. She knew that but did he really think she'd ignore him forever? "Well Adrien certainly has a habit of going to the worst case scenario, But it might have taken a while for me to talk to him if not for a certain Cat" Kagami said quietly but not quietly enough.
"A Cat? I thought your mom didn't allow pets?" Marinette questioned sipping her hot chocolate. "It was Chat Noir actually." Kagami stated plainly but the statement managed to make Marinette choke on her drink.
"Chat Noir as in The Chat Noir? Wears Leather? fights Akumas?" Marinette spluttered trying to clean her shirt with a napkin before it stained "Honestly I don't know why that's such a surprise to a girl who's gone on a movie date with him" Marinette flushed red shouting a little louder than she intended "that wasn't a date! we were just hanging out as friends" Kagami looked a little surprised for a second before returning to her usual calm demeanor.
"He was having problems with Ladybug, he felt like she didn't trust or need him as much as she says she does. he seemed really broken up about it, but he hadn't talked to Ladybug about it so I told him to do just that, He thought she'd take his miraculous but even I knew she wouldn't" that shook Marinette even if it was irrational the fact that she made her partner feel like she'd do that made her sick.
"I don't know if he has spoken to her yet but It helped me realise I should talk to Adrien, I told Chat to Talk to Ladybug but I was too weak to talk to Adrien it helped me put it into perspective" Kagami finished noticing how Pale Marinette had gone. "Marinette? Are you okay?"
Marinette Looked up, barely holding back tears. "Yeah it's just awful, Chat has to go through that." Marinette's voice broke a little Kagami hadn't realised Marinette cared this deeply for Chat Noir though she was a very caring individual perhaps hearing about someone else's suffering would be too much for her.
"Well Chat Noir might have been mad but I don't think he'd let that get in the way of saving the city he isn't that petty." She didn't know him that well, sure but someone who risked his life for people he didn't even know wouldn't stop because he was annoyed with Ladybug.
Almost on Cue a crash was heard outside the Cafe, Before Chat Noir came crashing through the window landing on The Table between the two girls "Well Hello Ladies you may wanna get outta here" He hit a Ball back at the Akumatised villain with his staff. "Would you look at that a home run" The Man caught the Ball Glaring at Chat Noir "You're not safe yet kid" Marinette and Kagami ducked out of the way as Chat pounced on the man.
When Kagami looked back Marinette had slipped away Marinette wasn't the type to sneak away when her friend was in trouble where had she gone? The Akuma fought with a hockey stick and a wide variety of other sporting equipment, he was unusually coordinated for his size Chat was struggling.
Adrien was blocking with his staff stopping the hockey stick where he could but this guy was fast still there was a moment where his swing was too wide and he just needed that opening he ducked under his swing and knocked the stick out of his hand. "There and now i've-" he went to speak but was cut off "You've what? You think you've won? You would've had me but you stopped to gloat, the game isn't over until Sportsmaster says it is" He swiftly threw a shot putt hitting Chat in the chest Knocking the wind out of him and sending him stumbling back. "That cocky attitude is about to get you in a lot of trouble" He struck Chat in the chest with a golf club and then across the back "Don't feel too bad kid in Cat Years you've had a pretty good run." He raised the golf club above his head when a wire wrapped around it pulling the club from his grip he turned to face Ladybug and in a second Chat had slipped away from him.
"Ladybug, I'm pretty sure his Akuma is in his Hockey Mask but this guy really knows how to fight he must be an athlete or something" Chat Noir spoke matter of factly he wasn't looking for a conversation he was just informing her. "Two on one Huh? you kids sure you don't wanna grab a few of your friends? The Turtle guy or the Fox maybe? Might help even the odds" The duo gripped their weapons as he took out a baseball bat looking over the two he was either overconfident or they should be worried.
"We don't need help from those two to deal with you" Ladybug and Chat Noir both lunged at him, Chat went to hit him with his staff only to be caught by Sportsmaster and thrown into ladybug just as she swung her yoyo at sports master causing it to hit Chat in the back of the head. "Ow what the heck Ladybug!?" he protested as he rubbed the back of his head.
"It's not like I meant to- Look out!" She pulled Chat out of the way of a javelin thrown by Sportsmaster before calling for her lucky charm. "A Sabre? It isn't normally a weapon" she looked around for a while but she couldn't come up with anything. "Actually I think that's meant for me just wait for my signal" Chat said, grabbing the hilt pointing it towards sportmaster "How about a fair fight? Pick a sport we're both good at" Sportsmaster knew this was a trap it had to be but His ego was too big to let this challenge slide.
Steel met steel as Chat and Sportsmaster crossed swords Chat was mostly on the defensive not trying too hard to attack after all he was just trying to Tire him out he used his small size to his advantage avoiding and Parrying every thrust, Sportsmaster was by no means a small man and that size meant he needed more oxygen with He just had to hope his energy ran out first when he noticed him start to slow down he seized his opportunity going on the offensive making sure Sportsmaster was focused on him.
"Now Ladybug!" Ladybug flipped over the pair pulling off the hockey mask and throwing it to chat noir who immediately cataclysmed the object. Ladybug quickly caught the Akuma before turning the Chat. "Pound it?" Chat looked to be considering it for a second he was still mad but he didn't want people to know he could see the articles already, "Are Ladybug and Chat Noir Fighting? Everything you need to know" eventually he just decided to return the gesture but his heart wasn't in it. Chat tried his best to smile before leaving.
He disappeared into a back alley, sighing to himself he had been hoping to get a little more time to think before talking to Ladybug again. He needed someone to talk to and not Plagg. Plagg cared sure but he wasn't great to talk to about emotional stuff "Hello? Earth To Adrien you okay kid?"
"Oh yeah I'm fine just thinking, say Plagg? you up for a late night stroll a little Later?" The Kwami finished his cheese before looking back to Adrien, regardless of his Answer Adrien would go so it was better to just go with his idea. "Sure kid but you owe me on" Plagg dipped into Adrien's pocket as Adrien headed home he needed to come up with an explanation as to why he wasn't at his photoshoot and quickly.
Well here's chapter 4 and good news I've already written most of chapter 5, if only I was this motivated back in college. Anyway as always reviews are appreciated Chapter 5 should be up tomorrow or the day after
