At breakfast the next morning Adrien was quiet, Plagg had tried his best to comfort Adrien after the rejection, even offering him some camembert, which was a big deal for him, Still Plagg had quickly sensed that he wanted to be left alone for a little while. Nathalie was explaining his schedule for the day but he was only half listening.
"Adrien Did you get all that?" Nathalie asked, snapping him out of it with a slight edge of concern to her tone.
"School followed by chinese lessons followed by piano lessons followed by a dinner with my dad that he won't show up to just like he didn't show up for breakfast. Same as every other Thursday I don't need you reminding me everytime." Adrien snapped before immediately regretting it. "Sorry Nathalie, I know you're just doing what you're told."
"That's quite alright Adrien, I can understand your frustrations. Try not to be too hard on your father; he does care about you. Let me know if you want to talk." He could believe that at least, Nathalie would certainly listen all though he didn't trust her not to repeat what he said to her to his Father.
"I'll keep that in mind, see you after school Nathalie" Adrien waved before he left, The Gorilla was already waiting for him and it didn't take long to get there.
"Hey dude, feels like forever since I last saw you" Nino put his arm around Adrien Catching him off guard somewhat. "How have you been, man?"
"Oh uh I'm okay I guess-" Adrien started before ducking out of sight when Kagami walked past earning a slightly concerned look from Nino all though she didn't seem to notice him, that or she was ignoring him again.
"Wow, that's not a good look my guy, I thought she was talking to you again?" Nino asked in a hushed tone once Kagami had passed the pair.
"She was but then I wanted to ask about maybe getting back together and now I just don't know how to talk to her." Adrien sighed worrying he'd ruined things.
"So what she rejected you? Really sorry about that man, but hey it's her loss if I was a girl, or into guys, I'd go out with you in a heart beat." Nino attempted to comfort him all though it came off as somewhat awkward.
"Well she didn't exactly reject me, She interrupted me before I could ask her and basically told me she wasn't interested in romantic relationships right now. But I'm pretty sure she knew what I was going to ask." Adrien was smart enough to read between the lines of what she had said. He felt Ninos hand on his shoulder who gave him a reassuring look.
"Anything I can do to help just let me know." Marinette by chance overheard the boy's conversation, and she felt conflicted. She was of course happy that Adrien wasn't dating Kagami but on the other hand she knew Kagami liked Adrien. She wouldn't have turned him down without a reason and she had a bad feeling she knew what that reason was.

School was tense Adrien might have been trying to act normal but Marinette could tell he was down, though she wasn't sure if it was really her place to say anything about it, if she was right that meant she was involved even if Adrien didn't know it, still she should probably talk to Kagami before she tried to say anything to Adrien.
When Class ended for Lunch Marinette went straight to Kagami. "Kagami, could I talk to you alone for a minute?" Kagami seemed hesitant but she agreed to follow Marinette, once they were alone Marinette turned to her with an unreadable expression. "I thought you still liked Adrien? Why did you turn him down?" She had been trying to think of a way to say it delicately but ultimately decided to get straight to the point.
"So you heard about that did you?" Kagami sighed, she didn't really wanna talk about this. "My personal feelings aside, We already dated, it didn't work. Trying the same thing multiple times and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity." Kagami lied as easily as she breathed, but still Marinette seemed to see through her.
"That sounds like something your mother would tell you to say" As much as Kagami wanted to argue, Marinette was right, not that she was going to tell her that. "We both know that's not the real reason."
"You're certainly perceptive today" Kagami mumbled under her breath. "Fine you're right. That isn't why I said no." Kagami sounded impatient, she found this conversation a little frustrating. "But that doesn't mean I have to tell you" She continued, raising her voice. "my reasons are my own leave it at tha-"
"Did you turn Adrien down for me!" Marinette interjected a little louder than she had meant to before covering her mouth, thankful Adrien hadn't been around to hear that.
"Wha- No! Of course not" Kagami'' sounded a little flustered. "Not everything is about you Marinette" In this case of course Marinette was right but Kagami wasn't going to let her know that.
"I didn't say it wa-" Marinette went to defend herself but Kagami stormed off. Marinette wanted to follow her but she decided against it not wanting to damage their friendship anymore than she already had
"How can she see through me like that…" Kagami said quietly to herself once she was out of Marinette's sight.

The rest of School had been even worse than the first half for Adrien before Kagami was ignoring him. Now she was actively avoiding him. If she saw him around school she'd turn around and walk away, if they were in the same class she'd sit as far away from him as possible.
Regardless of how he was feeling he still had to carry on as always his Father would expect nothing less. As usual his Chinese lessons had been a breeze. He really wasn't sure why he was still doing them, he was fluent by this point. Now he had Piano Lessons, the one activity he did that his dad usually showed up to even if it was usually to tell him he wasn't good enough.
As usual his father was listening to him play but he could tell he wasn't happy with the performance. Really Adrien couldn't blame him this time everything with Kagami had been getting him down and it was affecting how he was playing.
"You're usually better than this Adrien, Is something distracting you?" Gabriel's cold voice snapped him back into reality, Of course he wouldn't ask what's wrong Adrien thought to himself as he looked up from his sheet music.
"I suppose I am a little distracted, I asked Kagami if she wanted to get back together she didn't say no exactly, I didn't get a chance to ask, but she may as well have. She told me she doesn't want a relationship of any kind" He stopped playing for a moment. his Father offered the occasional piece of Advice and really he'd take all the help he could get.
Gabriel took a sip of his glass of water pausing to think. "Well then it's not specifically you, she's just not looking for a boyfriend" He placed his glass down on the table before getting up. "I seem to recall she really liked you, I'm not entirely sure what advice to give you but I wouldn't say it's hopeless just give her some time. I think we're done for the day. You aren't going to play at your best like this" Gabriel concluded before walking out, closing the door behind him. Adrien couldn't remember the last time his Father had let him finish early, really he didn't know what to do with the time.
"Well that's a first as far as i'm aware looks like you've got some free time kid" Plagg flew out of Adrien bag floating just beside him. "So what did you-" Plagg stopped when he noticed Adrien was already starting on his homework. "You really need to relax more, kid."
Plagg was right of course but Still anything to help him forget about everything. Even if it was just momentarily.
