Gabriel's advice had been less than useful, 'Give her some Time' Adrien could have thought of that, Still it was nice to know his Father cared enough to try which was pretty good for Gabriel. Disregarding his less than stellar relationship with his father for the moment, Adrien arrived at school, He waved at Kagami who barely even acknowledged him, he was then approached by Chloe who evidently had seen that exchange.
"You could have any girl in Paris, or boy for that matter, yet here you are wasting your time pining for the girl who rejected you" Chloe mocked, since their friendship had fallen apart Chloe had been just as mean to him as everyone else, which stung a little as he was the only who believed she was capable of changing for the better.
"You really don't understand how other people feel, do you Chloe?" Adrien questioned in an impatient tone as he attempted to walk past his former friend.
"This coming from the guy who keeps trying to talk to a girl who clearly doesn't want anything to do with him? You don't have much room to talk Adrikins" Adrien never particularly liked that nickname but hearing her say it with such Malice made him a little uncomfortable.
"You don't know what you're talking about" Adrien spoke a little louder than he had meant to before collecting himself. "Look Chloe, This really isn't any of your business. If you wanna be friends again I'd be happy to but otherwise don't talk to me" He stated simply before walking away, he really didn't feel like arguing with her.
Chloe was saying something or other, Adrien had stopped paying attention. It didn't take long for him to meet up with Nino "Hey man feeling any better? You still seemed down when you left and if I know you, you've been thinking about it all night" Nino wasn't exactly wrong but Adrien still didn't like hearing it.
"I… don't know what to do anymore, it's all my fault I messed everything up with Kagami, Maybe I just shouldn't bother with relationships" Adrein sighed in a defeated tone, which was heard by one Marinette Dupain-Cheng she hated seeing him like this, especially when she knew Kagami was holding back for her sake she just needed to get Kagami to tell the truth. Even if it hurts like hell.
Marinette spent the rest of the school day planning out what she should do, First thing of course was to get Adrien and Kagami in the same room, Neither of them would go if they knew the other one was there so she had Alya ask Kagami to meet her in the classroom after school, She wasn't sure Kagami would go if Marinette asked her.
Once Kagami had agreed to meet Alya, Marinette asked Adrien who reluctantly agreed truth be told he wanted to get home as soon as possible but Marinette fed him some line about needing help with physics homework and even when he was feeling down, Adrien would do his best to help his friends.
Adrien Arrived just as the sun was setting, there were no lights on in the room, still the orange light filtering through the window was enough for him to see. "I hope you don't mind but Alya and Nino asked to come along so maybe we can compare notes?" Marinette lied but Adrien seemed to buy it.
A few lengthy minutes passed and Marinette began to fear Kagami would be a no show however just as she was about to give up she heard the door open all four of them turned to see Kagami whose gaze immediately went to Adrien who pretended he was still reading his Text book.
"Alya, what did you want to talk to me about?" Kagami asked in a cold tone trying to get this done and leave as soon as possible
"Oh uh… yeah what was it? Marinette, I told you right?" Alya deflected as she got up moving towards the door, she hadn't really thought that far ahead.
Kagami's attention turned to Marinette as Nino moved to the other door, neither Adrien or Kagami realized what was going on but Kagami wasn't getting out of here until she'd been honest.
"The Truth Kagami, Why did you turn Adrien down." Marinette demanded in a tone they hadn't heard from her before.
"Just as I said yesterday that doesn't matter." Kagami said matching Marinette's determined tone with one of cool indifference "Is that why you called me in here? Adrien, did you know about this?" She accused to the blonde boy's surprise.
"Wh-What No! I didn't know anything about this honest, Marinette I appreciate what you're trying to do but Kagami was right. I think we're better off as friends." Adrien scrambled to defend himself earning a glare from Marinette.
"Liar. How can you pretend you still don't like her?" Marinette sounded hurt and angry, angrier than he'd ever seen her.
"Listen if that's how he feels it's o-" Kagami began only to be interrupted by Marinette.
"Don't play dumb, you're way too smart or believe that, You know how Adrien Feels about you but you won't be honest with him! Why can't you just Admit it?" Kagami tried to maintain her cool demeanor but it was clear this was getting to her.
Kagami considered simply leaving, she looked to the doors only to find they were blocked by Alya and Nino.
"Go on dude, aren't you going to say anything?" Nino questioned a stunned Adrien who was still trying to process everything. Before Adrien got a chance, Marinette turned Kagami to face her.
"Listen Kagami I know you're trying to help but you don't need to do this for me!" Marinette pleaded though Kagami didn't want to hear it.
"I just wanted you to be happy…" Kagami replied in a voice barely above a whisper.
"Happy? You really think I'd be happy knowing one of my best friends gave up the one thing they wanted more than anything for my sake?" The tone of Marinette's voice left Kagami stunned for a moment. Yes she sounded Angry but more than that she could hear guilt in her voice.
Kagami didn't know what to say so she decided to run. She pushed past Marinette and ran towards the door "No point keeping you here much longer" Nino Conceded before moving out of the way letting Kagami through the door.
"What the Hell Nino!?" Marinette complained to a mostly unphased Nino, Alya and Adrien were surprised to see her like this but Nino? He'd known Marinette since they were kids; he'd seen her angry more times than he could count.
"If you're gonna go after her I'd suggest calming down first." He warned as he got out of Marinette's way.
"Alright well I'm going after Kagami I'm not done talking to her. Adrien, are you coming or not?"
Adrien barely heard the question he had too much to think about should I go? I could find out how she feels. But she definitely didn't want me to know is it right for me to go after her? His thoughts were interrupted by Marinette repeating the question. "Are you coming?"
For a moment everything was clear, there was only one answer he could give. "Yes"
