"Our terms are simple" Kagami began explaining calmly "You back off and stop trying to control every aspect of our lives, let us go out with our friends without having to let you know days in advance and actually spend time with us like normal parents" The fact they had to threaten them into acting like parents wasn't ideal but unfortunately this was the situation they'd found themselves in.
"Another thing father, I'm not working for you anymore, I'll still do photo shoots every now and then but I'm not going to make a career out of it." Adrien could tell from Gabriel's expression he wasn't happy to hear that, but his father stayed quiet at least for now, the only reason Adrien said he'd do it every now and then was to try to soften the blow somewhat.
"Same goes for my fencing," Kagami added, quickly addressing her mother directly. "I enjoy it as a hobby but it's not what I want to do for a living, and another thing, I shouldn't need to be perfect at absolutely everything I do, I get you just want me to succeed but it's too much pressure" Kagami concluded the pair made sure to remain calm while explaining so Gabriel and Tomoe couldn't accuse them acting childish.
"Well, you haven't given us much choice really, we either Agree or" Tomoe Began calmly before she was interrupted by Gabriel.
"Or you'll run away, was that it? And how long do you think you'll actually run before we track you down?" Gabriel questioned in his typical cold condescending tone, earning a slight glare from Nathalie, his tone would usually get Adrien to back down or at least keep him quiet, but as of recently it seemed to be working less and less.
"As long as it takes. We'll run and keep running only stopping to sleep, if that's what we need to do to stop you from finding us" It was a bluff of course Kagami knew it, but Adrien's tone made it clear he'd do it. "But if it comes to that I will never speak to you again father" Adrien finished, his tone dripping with venom.
Gabriel was quiet for just a moment, the look on his face was unreadable, for a second he looked to be considering it but then his expression hardened. "Then go. You'll come back before long" Gabriel answered dismissively, earning a glare from Nathalie who for a moment looked as if she would say something but one cold look from Gabriel seemed to make her lose her voice.
"So that's it then." Kagami said quietly before taking Adrien's hand and going to leave, Adrien was somewhat hesitant but after a second he followed suit.
"Kagami come back here!" Tomoe yelled as they left though her cries fell on deaf ears, in contrast Gabriel just turned away confident he was right, Adrien and Kagami would come crawling back, he gave them a week.
Gabriel went back to his office almost as soon as they arrived back at the mansion and after about 15 minutes Nathalie walked in and placed a form down on his desk. "What is this?" Gabriel momentarily looked up from his screen to see her glaring daggers at him.
"It's a request for time off sir" Nathalie replied matter-of-factly.
"At a time like this?" Gabriel sighed as he looked over the form before picking up his pen.
"Is that a, no?"
Gabriel sighed and shook his head as he signed the form. "No, it's fine, I'll see you in a few weeks."
"Thank you, sir." Nathalie walked out, closing the door behind her leaving Gabriel alone with his work.

It really wasn't supposed to go like this, the train tickets were just a bluff they never expected to be using them, they had no luggage, no plan and no idea what to do next but they did have each other and the food they'd managed to get from a store in the station. The station was mostly empty besides the two of them, it was for the best people recognising them would just cause problems.
"Nothing but snack food, I wish we could have gotten something more substantial" Adrien sighed mostly to himself, Plagg certainly wouldn't be very happy about this.
"It'll be fine for now; we should be able to buy something a little better for us when we get to Versailles." Kagami reassured as she took a sip from her bottle of water trying to avoid thinking about what they would do when they got there.
"What about your mother? My father said no but we left before she answered properly. She might have agreed."
"Whatever, she cares more about what the public thinks then she does about me, even if she agreed it would just have been to protect her public image, what about your father? Do you think he'll come around? Eloping is pretty drastic." Adrien seemed to tense when she mentioned Gabriel perhaps unsurprisingly.
"Yeah, it is pretty drastic, I honestly don't know if he'll change his mind, he very rarely does. But we can hope." a voice over the speaker let the pair know the train would be delayed for at least half an hour. The pair heard approaching footsteps and turned to see Nathalie; Kagami looked as if she was going to run but Adrien hesitated.
"I'm not going back," Adrien snapped, causing Nathalie to stop in place after a moment, she nodded.
"I know and I'm not going to try and make you, but how are you going to find a place to stay" Adrien knew he didn't have an answer for that but after a brief pause Nathalie provided one. "Let me come with you, at least for now, it will be much easier finding somewhere to stay if I'm with you."
Before Adrien had a chance to say anything Kagami spoke up. "So long as you don't say a word to our parents then fine." Kagami didn't really know Nathalie that well, but she knew Adrien trusted her and that was enough for her.
"Of course, is that okay with you Adrien?" Adrien simply nodded in response before sitting back down as Nathalie went to buy a ticket.
"You really think you can trust her not to blab to your old man kid?" Plagg asked as he flew out of Adrien's pocket as soon as Nathalie was out of earshot.
"I don't know but I think she at least deserves the benefit of the doubt" He owed Nathalie that much she'd been there for him in the year since his mother had vanished.

Nathalie managed to secure a small apartment for the two of them. It wasn't anything fancy, but it was better than being homeless and with a working fridge Plagg could finally get his camembert fix.
It had been about a week and a half since they'd left now and Hawkmoth had been uncharacteristically quiet, he hadn't needed to go to Paris once, he'd just told Ladybug he was ill he didn't like lying to her but news of him and Kagami running away together was pretty widespread and he didn't need her figuring out his identity
His father hadn't tried to contact them once since they'd left, Tomoe had called a couple times, but Kagami had made it clear that neither of them would be coming back until both Gabriel and Tomoe agreed to what they had discussed.
"Ah who needs them? You're better off here" Plagg spoke through a mouthful of cheese, a habit Adrien really did detest but not one he had the energy to argue about.
"It's nice not to have my father breathing down my neck, but I still miss Nino, Marinette and Alya." He still hadn't even spoken to Marinette since he'd rejected her, he just hoped they were still friends. Plagg simply shrugged in response before ducking out of view as Nathalie walked in.
"Here you go, it's not as nice as your old one but you need a phone. I assume you can get most of your friends' numbers from Kagami if you don't have them memorised by now." Nathalie handed the phone to Adrien who immediately began to add his friends' numbers, rather reluctantly he sent his father a text telling him he could call when he was ready to agree. No reply. For the next two weeks, no reply. Radio silence until rather unexpectedly Adrien's phone rang.
So... uh been a while sorry about that some stuff happened that I'm really not comfortable getting into, but I'm back now at least for the time being
