The following morning May had been sitting down in the kitchen table drinking lemonade and listening to Dawn's rant. Brianna was in the couch, eating cereal and watching tv. May resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the young woman sitting across from her.
Seriously; how dense can one person be?
"Don't wreck your brain further. He has a crush on you." she stated taking a sip from her juice. Dawn blushed and May smirked pointing fingers at her. "You're totally crushing on him too aren't you?"
"I..." Dawn began stuttering and she heaved a sigh. "I don't really know." and she grabbed a piece of her hair in her hands, beginning to twirl it.
May gently told her to stop doing that and passed her a cup of juice laughing. "You so are!" She stated again pointing at her.
The doorbell rang and she stood up to open it.
Seeing who it was Dawn squeaked and hid behind the couch. Brianna could only stare in awe at her mother's antics.
"Ignore her Romeo." May said with a smirk. "She's just being childish."
Ash crooked his head to the side confused. "Romeo?"
May wanted to face palm herself but resisted the urge and simply waved her hands going up the stairs with Brianna, muttering something about getting ready for school.
"Dawn, are you okay?" Ash said walking to the couch. Dawn poked her head out from behind the couch, blush evident on her face.
"F-fine and you?"
Ash raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure you're okay?"
Dawn sighed and stood up. "Not really."
"What's the matter?"
"Don't want to talk about it."
"If this is because of yesterday afternoon I want you to know I'm sorry. I should not have done what I did."
Dawn could almost hear her heart break and she could not, did not and was not able to bear it. Did he not want to kiss her? Was she that repulsive?
Okay maybe her mind is getting ahead of itself. There's a logical explanation for everything right?
Unfortunately for her, one never came. Brianna and May were seen heading down the stairs and everyone then got ready to leave.

Midday afternoon Dawn was in her office not capable of thinking coherent thoughts. Every single one of them was followed right after the other by what ifs.
Ash had yet to show up. After the scene she caused today; who could blame him?
She stared at her laptop's screen. With what had been going on lately she was not able to get much work done on either her blog or her center. It was amazing both were still up.
{-}
Melody and Misty, whom were both in the front desk had no clue what to do. There were no appointments for today and Ash had yet to show up.
"Don't you find it odd that Ash isn't here yet?" Misty said staring at her orange Pokétch. Maybe it had malfunctioned and it was still pretty early in the morning. "He's usually annoying Dawn by this time."
Melody whom was flipping through a popular contest magazine shrugged. "He's probably busy. I wouldn't think so much into it if I were you."
Misty sighed. "You're probably right but still I find it pretty strange don't you?" She said as she swirled her chair around to her bag so she could grab a book on gym leaders she had brought with her. "Wait, aren't you the one who wants the role of matchmaker in the first place? Why are you so calm about this?"
Melody smirked as she tore her gaze away from the magazine. "I don't have to play matchmaker. Ash is going to do it on his own."
"What are you talking about?"
Smirk never leaving her face, Melody glanced up from her magazine and watched as Misty's face soon turned into confusion at the door opening and a delivery guy coming inside. "Will you be a dear and get that?" She said.
"Dawn's Beauty Center, can I help you?" Misty said in her professional voice.
"Delivery for Dawn. Is she here?"
"Yes but she is busy at the moment. I'm her secretary I'll receive it for her."
The guy nodded and left, soon coming back with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. "Sign here please." He said passing her a paper and pen. Misty did so passing him twenty poke coins as well. The guy said thanks, took it and left.
Misty and Melody looked at each other.
"Who do you think the flowers could be from?" Misty asked,
"Just look at the envelope and you'll see..." Melody said in a sing-song voice.
Misty did so, trying hard not to open the envelope. It was tempting her. She flipped it over looking for the name and showed it to Melody once she found it.
Melody smirked once again. "Told youuuu."
As Misty placed it back in the basket they both grinned and ran to Dawn's office. "Oh Dawn!"
{-}
To make sure she was not dreaming or seeing wrong, Dawn blinked not once, but three times in a row.
Yup it was still there.
In her office was the prettiest bouquet of flowers she had seen and received since she was a teenager.
A card had come with it. Elegant, yet simple. Short, but to the point. It made her heart flutter-all because of the person who sent it to her.
She saw Misty and Melody peeking through the office window and she stifled a laugh as she saw them wave to her meekly. She waved back and tried to send them off.
Maybe now with her mind at ease she could finally get some work done.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur for Dawn and once she was ready for bed, she realized she could not sleep. She stood up from bed and decided to go do something.
Grabbing her pokeball case with her Pokemon inside and a sweater, she carefully made her way downstairs.
After grabbing some puffins and a snack for herself, she went outside for some fresh air. She wasn't going to go far, so she sat on her front porch and called out her friends.
Her Pachirisu, Togekiss, Piplup and Buneary greeted her with happy, cheerful noises. Piplup did not hesitate to waddle on over to her side and give her a friendly peck on her leg.
"I've missed you all too!" Dawn said with a smile as she handed out the handmade puffins.
All her Pokemon chirped in gratitude and began eating.
"They look well trained." Ash's voice sounded from his side of the fence, which he was leaning on. "I was wondering what all the noise was." He quickly added.
"Sorry if I woke up you up..." Dawn replied back.
Ash blushed and quickly shook his head. "I couldn't sleep either way," he said. "I came outside for some fresh air."
"Ah, same here." Dawn said.
Ash hopped his fence and made his way over to her. "We should talk...?"
Dawn grabbed unto her pajama shorts and nodded. "I guess..." She said uncertain.
"I lied this morning." Ash quickly stated. "I'm actually not sorry for what I did."
Dawn held her breath. "Wha... What?"
"Kissing you." Ash said. "I'm not sorry that I kissed you, I've wanted to do it for a while now." He awkwardly laughed.
"You have?" Dawn's surprise was pretty evident.
"Yeah," Ash quickly replied. "I've had a crush on you ever since we met a couple months back."
Dawn just gaped like a Magikarp. "So the flowers...?"
"My declaration of 'seeking courting rights' you don't have to reply or say anything." He assured her. "I just thought you'd like to know."
"Thank you for the flowers they were lovely." Dawn gave Ash the most dazzling smile he had ever seen. A light blush tinted her cheeks. "As for courting me..."
Ash raised his hands quickly. "Like I said, you don't have to reply."
"...I -I might have a slight crush on you too." Dawn admitted. Ash's face light up as if he had won a year's supply of free food. "But I'm not sure what to do." She added.
Ash glanced her way, the bright smile never leaving his face. He took her hand in his. "Like I said, you don't have to worry about it. I know you have enough to deal with when it comes to Brianna and work." He placed a kiss on her hand. "I don't want to get on the way of that."
Dawn silently nodded. "Yeah, I don't know how Brianna will take it either but I know she practically worships the ground you walk on."
Ash laughed. "What can I say? I have a way with children."
"Only because you act like one." Dawn teased him.
"Hey!"
Dawn giggled. Whatever happened, she knew they would be just fine.
Piplup went over and pecked Ash, as if saying to stay away from his trainer.
"... I forgot they were there." Ash said as he was forced to drop Dawn's hand.
"I'm so sorry Ash!" Dawn said as she scolded her penguin Pokemon. "Are you okay?"
Ash nodded. "I'm fine, really."
"You're not. Come on I'll get you a band aid or something." Dawn replied as she grabbed her Pokeballs and called her Pokemon back. She then opened the door and ushered Ash inside.
Walking over to the kitchen she proceeded to place his hands on the sink and opened up the water. "Clean the wound with soap, I'll be right back."
"You don't have to go this far." Ash complained. "It's just a bite."
"You can never be too sure." She said back as she walked up the stairs to go get the first aid kit. Ash shook his head at her antics.
At least she's worried about me...
"Augh where is this thing!" Dawn uttered to herself as she looked through her medicine cabinet.
"Mommy?" Brianna poked her head out her bedroom door.
"Yeah, Bri?" Dawn replied back from the bathroom.
"What are you doing?" The seven year old asked.
"Looking for the first aid kit." Dawn replied back. "Have you seen it? I need it for Ash."
Brianna perked up and squealed. "Ash is here?"
"Yeah he's downstairs."
Brianna ran out of her bedroom and rushed to the stairs. "ASH!"
Dawn sighed. "At least help me find the kit first." Giving up on it, she followed her daughter downstairs. The sight she witnessed warmed up her heart.
Ash was giving Brianna a tight hug and ruffled her hair.
"Missed you too kiddo." He said. "But it's way past your bedtime."
Brianna yawned. "I don't care." She said rubbing her eyes.
"No, no, no you have school in a few hours." He ushered her back up the stairs.
Brianna tugged at his hand. "Are you staying over? Tell me a story!"
Dawn squeaked. "Bri! He has his own house you know."
Ash relented. "Okay, just one story." He glanced at Dawn. "Is that alright?"
Dawn sighed. "Fine, just one."
Brianna squealed and tugged at her mom's hand as well. "Let's go."
{-}
"And so the Teddiursa crawled into his bed and snuggled into the warm covers. The end."
Brianna's eyes were finally closing as she slowly dozed off. "Good night Ash, mommy."
"Good night kiddo, sweet dreams." Ash said as he made sure Brianna was tucked in and warm with her blankets. He pressed a kiss to her forehead then moved aside to let Dawn do the same.
Both of them walked out of the room and closed the door.
"Thank you again Ash." Dawn said as they walked down the stairs.
"Anytime." He replied.
"Sorry I couldn't find you a bandaid."
"I told you not to worry about it." He said laughing. "Besides, I managed to see both you and Brianna tonight so I say that's a plus."
"If you say so." Dawn replied as they stopped at the front door.
"I should probably go now huh?"
"We both have work tomorrow." Dawn stated as she opened the door.
"Well, I guess this is good night."
"Good night Ash."
"You too, Dawn." He waved and walked out.
"Wait!" Dawn said as she took hold of his hand.
Ash's breath stopped for a brief moment. "Yeah?"
"Uhh..." Dawn bit her lips. "I forgot to say thanks."
"You said it multiple times already?" He said confusedly.
Dawn shook her head and leaned in closer. She gave him a quick peck on his cheek then went for it and kissed him on the lips.
"Thanks!" She released his hand and rushed into the house blushing madly.
Ash stared at the closed door.
What just happened?
