Season: This chapter has minor inconstancies on it. I took the Gyarados from Misty's episode in that one short-lived Pokemon series spinoff about minor characters. I haven't watched it in forever. The inconsistancy is that Gyarados was in Cerulean gym... I don't remember WHO it belongs to so let's just assume it belonged to one of the sisters. Violet is the one I mostly remember by name so.

... I never claimed this fic was canon anyways, so I don't see anything wrong with it just thought I'd give a warning just in case.

Ps Shooti Island is where Melody is from. Bianca is the girl from Latios/Latias movie. This was her name right? (someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

I just wanted the chapter to be out as soon as possible. I keep my promises!

The next day, May had an appointment to go to so Dawn had been the one to take Brianna to school. She got to work a little later than usual because of it and was getting ready to water the pots that were all over her office.

"I should be making Ash do all this." She was muttering to herself as she waved the watering can left and right. "There's too many!"

She had texted Ash on her way over explaining the situation and how he better bring coffee to make up for all the extra work she had to do now. Taking care of plants was not easy, especially ones that had not even sprouted yet.

With a sigh she went one by one and patiently talked to them in a quiet, loving voice. She was telling all the various seeds to grow into nice, big plants.

The office door opened. "Dawn I got your text this morning, so I stopped by the cafeteria and got us food!" Ash said as he walked inside. He took a look around and saw Dawn bent down next to a pot full of rose seeds. "Oh you're watering them?"

Dawn stood up and passed the watering can to Ash, taking the plastic bag he had on the other hand. "No, you are. I'm eating whatever it is that you brought."

"It's a breakfast bagel." Ash replied and went on to water the pots. "Please be careful there's coffee for you in there too."

"You're the one that has to be careful not to overwater the pots."

"I'll be careful don't worry."

Dawn nodded and sat down at her desk, took out one of the bagels and a cup of coffee. "Today is Brianna's Show & Tell at school." She said trying to keep the conversation moving.

"Yeah she told me about it, from what I could tell she sounded really excited. "

"She's going to show off her Poketch." Dawn said after quietly sipping her coffee. "She doesn't like to take it with her a lot because she was worried it could get damaged."

"It's a watch it's meant to be worn." Ash stated. "I can easily replace it for her if it does."

Dawn sighed and pointed to hers. "This isn't necessarily just a watch. Don't forget it's engraved."

Ash shrugged. "It's not like it's irreplaceable." He finished watering the seeds and sat down on one of the bean chairs, taking the other bagel and coffee.

"Ash, you really don't get it do you?"

"What am I not getting?" Ash replied with a tilt of his head. He bit into his bagel.

"It's an engraved Poketch and it was given to us as gifts." Dawn stated. "That makes it special."

"Is this a girl thing?" He replied after he chewed the piece he ate.

"No matter the cost, sentimental value cannot be replaced." Dawn said with a sigh.

Ash thought about it for a second. "I really don't get it."

Dawn shook her head. "Just finish eating and get out of here."

"He better!" Melody said from the intercom. "Your first appointment of the day is almost here."

"Stop prying Mels. I don't pay you to spy."

Ash laughed. "You three really don't have a dull moment here."

"He's right, Mels where's Misty?"

"She's arriving late because her sister's Gyarados went on a rampage last night and she had to go back home for a bit. She'll be back soon."

"When did Violet's Magikarp evolve?" Ash asked.

"A year ago." Melody stated. "But Misty was the one who took care of it while her sisters were traveling."

"A Gyarados huh..." Dawn contemplated it for a solid minute.

"Call Misty and tell her there's no rush for her to get back." Ash said.

"What?" Dawn asked confusedly.

"Her home is all the way in Cerulean City," Ash replied. "It's not that easy to get back as soon as Melody thinks."

"Then why is she in Pallet Town?" Dawn wondered.

"Gosh Dawn, you can't just ask people that." Melody jokingly stated.

"I'm curious."

"Want to know why I'm here too?" Melody couldn't help but question.

"She's from Shooti island." Ash replied to Dawn.

"Oh, I didn't know that." She said.

"It said so in my resume!" Melody replied.

"I might have skimmed through it." Dawn said with a laugh.

"And this is why I like you." Ash said as he stood up from the bean bag and went up to Dawn, kissing her cheek.

Dawn blushed.

"Ash stop giving sugar to the ants and get to work." Melody said as she clicked the intercom off but before she did she added, "It's okay Dawn. You're forgiven."

Ash went for another kiss, this time on Dawn's lips. "I'll see you at lunch."

"Yeah, lunch." Dawn replied back quite dazed.

Ash laughed. "Are you going to have that look every time we do this?"

"N-no!" Dawn said.

"Good." He said and flicked her forehead. "I'm leaving now."

"H-have a good day at work." Dawn said as she watched Ash walk to the door and opening it.

"You too." Ash replied, blowing Dawn a kiss. "Lunch date. One o'clock."

"Got it."

"And then, the teacher said that my Poketch was awesome!" Brianna was excited as she was telling the group how her Show & Tell at school went.

"Well, it is the latest Poketch." May said.

"A new one doesn't come out until next year." Gary said agreeing.

Dawn and May continued saying that they thought the Poketch was awesome. Gary was complaining that the only reason her Poketch was so 'awesome' happened to be because of the engravings in the back.

"Actually I didn't show the class the engravings." Brianna told them as she held her poketch close to her heart. "I feel as if this is a secret between Ash, my mom and myself."

Ash was practically glowing with pride.

"Food's ready." Tracey said from the kitchen. He had been listening to the conversation while cooking dinner for everyone.

Gary went into the kitchen to help him out. "I'll set the table."

"Let's go let's go! I'm hungry." Ash practically rushed to the kitchen.

"I'm amazed he hasn't broken anything in the house yet." May said laughing.

Dawn nodded. "I'm surprised too."

Brianna followed behind Ash but in shorter steps.

May wanted to roll her eyes. "It's like this with him all the time. He hasn't changed from when he was a kid."

Dawn laughed. "He's still like a kid at heart." She said as she got up from the couch and started to head towards the kitchen as well with May in tow.

The faint smell of rice and spices got stronger as they were getting closer to the kitchen.

"What was Tracey cooking again?" May asked.

"I think it was stir fried rice." Dawn said.

"Yep!" Ash said as he was grabbing a plate and passed it to Brianna. "He cooked stir fried rice and some side dishes."

"I want some rice and an egg roll." Brianna said as she took the plate.

"Coming right up." Ash said cheerfully as he began to pile up the food unto Brianna's plate.

May and Dawn stared in shock. Ash would usually always go and get food for himself in an instant. But here he was, thinking of Brianna first and giving her food as they both chatted about this or that.

"Isn't that cute?" May whispered to Dawn.

"Adorable." Dawn agreed as she went and grabbed a plate for herself. "Ash! Don't fill up Bri's plate with so much food. She won't be able to carry it all to the table."

"She needs to eat to grow tall." Ash said as he gave his usual grin and took the plate from Brianna after he had filled it up to the brim. He carried it to the table and took out the chair for the seven year old. Brianna walked over to the table and sat down.

"Thank you Ash." She said and happily began to dig into her food.

"No problem kiddo." Ash said as he walked back to the pots on the stove. "Now time to serve the most beautiful queen." Ash extended his hand out to Dawn ushering for her to give him the plate.

"I can grab my own food." Dawn said defensively.

"Oh let him." May said giggling as she went to get her food.

"O-okay." Dawn said, a blush evident in her face.

"Go sit down I'll take your food to you in a bit." Ash grinned and went to fill up Dawn's plate.

"Swi ere omhi." Brianna said as she patted the seat next to her on the table.

"Sit here mommy." May translated.

"Don't eat with your mouth full, parrot." Dawn said laughing as she walked over and sat where Brianna was telling her. Brianna was almost instantly shoving a spoonful of food at Dawn.

"Say ahhhh!"

Dawn opened her mouth. "Ahhhh."
She tasted the mixed flavor of rice and a piece of egg roll. "That's delicious."

Ash finally arrived with Dawn's food and set it down in front of her. "Is that all? Do you want anything to drink?"

Brianna smiled and raised her hand. "Water, sir Ash." She said.

"Of course dear princess Bri coming right up." Ash said bowing. "And for the lady?"

Dawn giggled. "Apple juice."

"Right away." And Ash went back to the kitchen just as May was arriving to the table herself.

May say down next to Brianna on her other side and began to dig into her food just as quickly as she sat down.

"You three are so cute I'm thinking of sparkling rainbows."

"Don't you mean puking rainbows?" Gary said as he approached them all. "Here, Tracey sent over some cheesy bread."

"Tracey went overboard with cooking." Dawn replied as Gary placed the tray down.

"He also made biscuits." Gary stated.

"We're going to be eating leftovers for days!" Dawn said.

"This means I get to take it with me to school for lunch right?" Brianna asked.

"Of course munchkin." Ash said as he came back with a tray. He passed Dawn and Brianna their glasses and sat down next to Dawn with his food. "Me and Dawn are set for lunch as well."

"Don't forget Misty and Melody." Dawn said.

"Yeah, how could I?" Ash mumbled.

"They're playing matchmakers." Dawn said to a confused May.

"Still!?" May said gasping. "I thought they gave up after, what was her name...?"

"Who?" Ash said.

"Bianca. The brown haired one not the blond one."

"They are both crazy." Ash mumbled. Then he glanced towards Dawn. "Ignore this idiot, you know I like you the most."

"Ashy boy leave your woman escapades for after dinner. You're going to spoil my appetite." Gary said.

"You're the one who had the cheerleading squad."

"Okay let's all behave now." Tracey finally came to the dinner table with the promised biscuits and his own food.

"Everyone eat!" Brianna chastised them all.
