Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven
by: Season Of Magic

Sunday was Dawn's lazy day. She could sleep in as much as she wants without having to worry about alarms, work, traffic, schedules or anything of the sort. What she seems to forget is that she has a child who is awake right at the break of dawn. Which is a pun in itself considering who her mother was.
So at precisely eleven in the morning Dawn was woken up by her seven year old, who apparently got tired of eating cold sandwiches and cereal.
The weekends were usually May's days off, so it was a miracle that Brianna had waited so long to wake her mother up. Dawn yawned and almost dozed off again, until the light knocks at her door got more loud.
"I'm up, I'm up!" Dawn exclaimed.
Brianna took that as a good sign and laughed as she walked away before Dawn could ruffle her hair and call her Brianna The Menace.
Dawn rolled out of bed and washed up, thinking about the previous day.
The date she had last night with Ash was fresh in her mind and it was hard to contain her squeals. She almost got toothpaste in her favorite pajama because of it.
After freshening up she walked downstairs where Brianna was busy watching some re-cap of a Pokemon battle and eating some chips.
"Hand them over." Dawn said stretching her hand out.
Brianna pouted and managed to take some off the bag, then handed the bag over to Dawn as she ate them.
She knew she wasn't allowed to eat chips so early in the morning. Yet she had thought that with her mom's date going so good, she could have gotten off the hook for once.
Dawn walked to the kitchen with the bag and put it away. Then she poured two cups of orange juice, putting strawberries into a bowl and walked back to the living room. She handed the bowl and one of the cups to Brianna.
Brianna sighed and began to eat the strawberries. Her rebellious streak had been fun while it lasted.
"For the last time May, the date went well," Dawn said to her Poketch. She was in a call with May. "I'm not telling you anything else."
"I babysit your daughter while you work. Don't hold out on me."
Dawn laughed. "Don't use my daughter as an excuse to get information out of me."
May sighed and shook her head. "Fine."
A knock at the door caused Dawn to say goodbye to May. Brianna was downstairs alone and she knew better than to open doors to strangers but one could never be too careful.
"I'll call you later promise. We're still meeting up today for our night in right?" Dawn asked.
"Of course! We're watching Princess Diaries 2 so I wouldn't miss it." May stated.
Dawn laughed as she stood up. "Great, see you later." She hung up as she walked down the stairs.
"Mom it's Ash," Brianna said from the window she was staring out of. "I can open the door right?"
"Thanks for informing me who it is, parrot." Dawn said as she opened the door instead.
Ash, who was grinning widely, pushed forward a bouquet of flowers toward Dawn. "For the cutest girlfriend ever." He said winking.
Dawn grabbed the flowers. "Thank you, handsomest boyfriend ever."
"Ash!" Brianna rushed over to his side and gave him a hug.
"And good afternoon to the cutest lil munchkin ever." Ash said happily.
"She's not a munchkin she's a parrot." Dawn said leading him inside as Ash closed the door she went to the kitchen to put the flowers in a vase.
"Well munchkin or parrot I also brought her something." Ash stated.
"What is it! What is it!" Brianna chirped.
Ash laughed and handed her a bag. Brianna instantly took it and opened it as fast as she could. She squealed as she saw the blue flamed Ponyta.
"So you won't go crying about how I didn't get you the Ponyta playset." He teased.
Brianna hugged him. "Thank you sooooo much!" She said. "I don't have this one yet."
Ash smiled. "You're welcome munchkin."
"Mom look! This Ponyta has our hair."
Dawn came back into the living room with the vase and glanced towards her daughter. "Ash, you're going to make her think every time you come here you have a gift for her."
Ash placed his hands in his neck sheepishly. "Sorry."
"I just don't want her to grow up a spoiled brat." Dawn said with a sigh.
"She is already spoiled by all of us." Ash pointed out. "You both are."
Dawn raised an eyebrow.
Brianna stared confusedly at both of them. "Mom, he doesn't always bring a present."
"The Poketch, Children's Day— " Dawn started counting. "That's because I want to." Ash interrupted her.
Brianna pouted. "You can have it back Ash." She said handing the Ponyta over. "I have at least three others."
"Bri, munchkin, it's yours." Ash said. "Besides, I kind of threw away the receipt."
"Ash!" Dawn said.
"Why are we being forced to watch this atrocious movie?" Gary couldn't help but utter as he walked inside Dawn's house.
"Hello to you too Gar." Dawn said with a hint of sarcasm.
"Don't mind him," Ash yelled from the kitchen. "He's really not into any kind of princess movies."
"Girl's movies just aren't my thing. The only thing missing will be to glitterfy me." Gary stated.
"I have a can of it." Brianna chirped.
"Of course you do you munchkin." Gary wanted to roll his eyes.
"Hey! Only I can call her munchkin!" Ash yelled.
"Whatever loser," Gary said as he sat down in the sofa. "Let's just get this over with."
"Tracey will be here with the food." Dawn reminded him. "And May said she would bring the drinks."
"It's not my fault I live close by." Gary retorted.
"You chose to stay in the lab." Ash couldn't help but reply.
"Shut up Ketchum!"
"I'd rather not, Oak."
Brianna sighed. "Mom can I put the one of the new Barbie movies while we wait?"
"Of course sweetie."
"I'll go get my dvds!"
"I hate my life." Gary stated after the torturous time spent watching not one Barbie film, but two before Tracey decided to make his presence. Brianna was singing nonstop songs from Barbie: Secret Door. Gary had no idea what 'what's going to happen, I can't wait to see' even meant. He had dozed off because he did not want to find out.
The torture had not ended there. After that one they saw Princess & Rockstar. Which apparently was not meant to be confused with Princess & The Popstar that they had seen about a month ago. That one had sent him straight into a sour mood.
The only good thing was that Brianna had not gone into singing and dancing mode.
And then the most wonderful magical thing happened. Tracey arrived with the pizzas. May followed tow behind him with two bags full of drinks.
"We're going to get caffeine wasted." Brianna clapped her hands.
Everyone stared at Brianna, except May and she glanced at them all.
"Like the Grown Ups movie? But instead of chocolate it's all the caffeine the soda has?" She tried to explain.
"You're no longer allowed to watch movies with May while she babysits you." Dawn said.
"Moooooom." Brianna replied.
"Okay peeps," May said trying to divert the conversation. "Let's eat pizza!"
Gary once again had things to complain about. Princess Diaries 2 to him was pretty stupid.
"So she ends up being the queen without getting married and in the end she's still in love with the traitor? " He questioned in disbelief.
"He's not a traitor!" May and Dawn said defensively.
Gary wanted to roll his eyes but just cheered that the movie ended.
Dawn stood up and went to the kitchen to make snacks. Ash silently followed her. With her back turned to him, Ash tiptoed to her and pressed his lips to her cheek.
Dawn squeaked loudly. "GAH!"
Ash laughed.
"Are you two okay in there?" May questioned.
"We're fine, May." Ash replied. "Dawn just saw a mouse pass by."
Ash kept pressing kisses to her cheeks, leaning an inch closer to her lips every passing second.
"It's really a persistent mouse." Dawn stated.
"Whatever," May yelled. "Just bring me back a mason jar filled with soda."
"O-of course."
Ash finally kissed her lips, leaving his mouth on hers for what seemed like an eternity.
"And that," he said as he bit her lips softly, "my dear girlfriend... Is payback for yesterday." He pulled back then went to the fridge as if nothing had happened.
