Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven

"Hello Indigo Plateau!" Kenny said as he walked into the stadium. "We're here to celebrate Kanto's very own Grand Festival, and I hope you're as excited as we are because boy is today going to be flipping exciting and amazing. We have a LOT of talented folks out here, and a few surprises in store so you definitely can't miss it. Now let me introduce our lovely judges; There is obviously me, your host..." he winked, "Andddd... my fellow Sinnoh rival and darling girlfriend Zoey!"
"Honestly, Kenny... After all this time I'm still your rival?"Zoey couldn't help but retort as she walked in. She took her seat.
"Yes, always dear." Kenny replied.
"Hi guys I'm Zoey, and there's obviously a third judge which my idiotic boyfriend forgot to mention, the lovely Nurse Joy!"
"Hello, it's great to be here as always. I'm looking forward to this year's grand festival." Nurse Joy said as she walked in and took her seat.
"I know I am!" Kenny said as he took his seat by Zoey.
"So, what's in store for us today Kenny?" Nurse Joy asked.
Kenny winked once again. "That's a surprise, and I don't want to ruin it. Let's go to commercials while our contestants finish getting ready."
Zoey gasped. "Aren't you going to introduce our exhibition coordinators?"
"I believe they're both still getting ready." Kenny said.
"You're not fun." Zoey said
Kenny glanced to Zoey. "The surprise will be fun I promise."
"Commercial time!"
This year's Grand Festival is sponsored by the Magnet Train. The fastest, safest way to get between Kanto and Johto. The Magnet Train, with its nonstop service between Goldenrod City and Saffron City. Pick safe, pick Magnet Train.

Dawn stared in disbelief at what she was hearing and seeing. She was currently in May's changing room in which she thought she was supposed to be helping her change into her competition dress. Instead, May had quickly taken not one but two dresses out her bag and had ushered Dawn to quickly change with her.
"You and I are having the exhibition match." May said with glee.
"You can't be serious." Dawn said.
"I am." May said as she began removing her clothes. "I'd hurry up if I were you."
"And you didn't tell me this ... why?"
"Because if I told you," May said as she placed her undershirt, "you would have said no and I'm not allowing that."
"And if I decide not to show up at the stage..." Dawn mumbled
"You'll be having a very disappointed seven year old and Ash. Also Gary, Tracey and I are never letting this down."
Dawn sighed as she took the dress from the rack. "You drive a bad bargain."
"Only the best for Sinnoh's meant-to-be princess."
Dawn raised an eyebrow. "Which is why this dress looks exactlylike Cinderella's?" She couldn't help but ask. "I should have expected this what with the dress I'm wearing right now almost looking like it."
"Ash picked that one all on his own." May said as she put on her dress. "Now be a dear and help me zip up so I can help you."
"Turn around." Dawn said. May did so and she grabbed the zipper and zipped it up.
"Thank you." May stated. "Now let's have you go to the ball, Princess."
"We're back at the Indigo Plateau for the Kanto Grand Festival. I'm your host Kenny and I'm soooo excited!"
"Yes, because we can't tell." Zoey replied pretending to roll her eyes.
"The exhibition match will soon begin." Kenny stated.
"I've yet to receive information on who the contestants are." Nurse Joy said.
Kenny grinned as he zipped his lips. "Me and Zoey know but we're keeping it hush-hush. It's THAT great."
"Do we have to go to another commercial before you spill the beans?" Zoey asked, concern in her voice.
"Nope I'm fine." Kenny said.
"Good because I believe they're ready." She replied as she stood up from her seat.
"Really!?" Kenny asked as he too got up. "Ahhhh!"
"I thought you were professional." Zoey stated.
"You got up first!"
"Anyways," Zoey said as she walked to the podium, "here at the grand festival we have a special treat for you. Joining us is one participant who is beloved in every region she goes to. Here for her Kanto return, and the exhibition match of the festival, Hoenn's Princess; May!"
Music played as May made her entrance. Waving to everyone she made her way to the podium in her attire. Her dress was reminisce to the Wallace Cup. A long orange and beige top and a matching skirt made the dress. She was wearing a veil to match. "Hi everyone I'm so excited to be here today."
The crowd went wild and was cheering.
"It seems like we're excited you're here too May." Kenny said. "We hear this will be your second participation in this festival, what are you most looking forward to?"
"Do you even have to ask Kenny?" May asked. "The trophy of course!" She said laughing. "No, but honestly I'm just here to have fun and make sure I don't get rusty."
"Feeling a bit rusty huh?" Kenny stated. "I'm sure that's what your contender is feeling right now."
"Or maybe it's just nerves Kenny." The person said as they walked out to the stage. Her blue dress shimmered and glided as she walked, and slowly, Dawn made her way to the podium. "What's this about me being rusty huh?"
The crowd was silent all but three seconds and soon everyone was screaming. "Is that Dawn?" "The coordinator from Sinnoh!" "It is her!"
"Ladies and gentlemen! My eyes aren't deceiving me are they? Is it really one of Sinnoh's top coordinators, Dawn?" Kenny screamed to the crowd.
"It is her Kenny!" The crowd seemed to agree with Kenny.
Zoey grinned as she went to hug Dawn. "Your eyes aren't deceiving you, you saw her two hours ago."
"Ah, right..." Kenny said laughing. "Well it's good to see you again."
Nurse Joy was surprised like the crowd but smiled from her judge's chair. "Welcome to Kanto's Grand Festival, Dawn."
"Likewise Kenny, I'm nervous to be here but excited." Dawn stated. "Thank you Nurse Joy."
"We're excited too!" The crowd said.
"I made this happen Kanto, you're welcome!" May said with a wink.
"Do you two have any words to say before your match?" Kenny asked.
"Yes." May said. "I'm glad that I'm the one who gets to compete against Dawn in her first return match."
"And I'm happy to be competing against such a great coordinator. This will be my first match in about eight years and I'm a bit nervous but if it's against anyone, I'm glad it's against May."
"That's so lovely." Kenny said amidst tears.
"Stop that." Zoey said, as she dragged Kenny away.
May and Dawn stepped down from the podium as well and watched as it transformed into a stadium.
"That never ceases to amaze me." Dawn said in awe.
"I know, me too." May replied.
"May, Dawn choose your side and let's get this exhibition match on the road." Kenny said.
"I'm not going easy on you just because you're rusty." May said with a grin as she took the right side. She tossed her trusty pokeball. "Come on out Glaceon!"
"Neither will I." Dawn said with a smile as she kissed her pokeball and called out, "Togekiss, help me please."
"I suppose it was expected they'd start this out quickly, they are veterans after all." Kenny said astonished. "May has chosen Glaceon and Dawn, Togekiss. Let's see how this plays out. Five minutes on the clock. START!"
"I'll show you rusty," Dawn said. "Togekiss Sky Attack!"
Togekiss soared into the sky, its wings sparkling in the air, as it readied to strike.
"Starting strong huh?" May replied, "Glaceon, move and use Secret Power!"
Glaceon moved around the stadium, and quickly used its attack. Sparkling orbs attempted to hit Togekiss. The attack helped navigate Togekiss towards Glaceon, and both attacks hit each Pokemon.
The meter went down for both just a little.
"Togekiss use Aura Sphere."
"Shadow Ball, Glaceon!"
"Neither contestant is letting go." Kenny stated. "They're neck and neck and it's barely started. Both attacks if hit have the same amount of power, which is astonishing."
As Kenny said, both attacks were the same so they both floated around and didn't hit as hard because they had both attempted to dodge.
"You can do this Togekiss; Air Slash."
"Hit it with everything you got, Ice Beam!"
The gust of air from Air Slash, was the momentum Togekiss needed, Dawn quickly noticed and said, "Aura Sphere!"
"Not so fast! Mirror Coat!" May said. "Bet you didn't see that one coming."
Dawn grinned. "Safeguard!"
"Sparks are flying everywhere, and so are the points. This is so intense!" Kenny stated to the audience.
"Secret Power Glaceon, then followed by Shadow Ball."
"Air Slash Togekiss, then Sky Attack."
All the attacks combined and suddenly, the timer run out.
"Whew! That all happened so fast I really couldn't keep up." Kenny said. "Is it safe to even go to the stadium?"
Both May and Dawn laughed. "It is." They said.
Kenny made his made to the stadium where Dawn, May and their pokemon were in the middle.
"This is only an exhibition match but I gotta say, Dawn wiped the floor with you May!"
Dawn gasped and glanced to the screen. "What?"
May shrugged. "It's true, that Sky Attack is brutal." She extended her hand out. "But well practiced and executed."
Dawn took it and shook her hand. "It's our best move yet, right Togekiss?" She winked. 'Toge!' "That Mirror Coat of yours is no joke either." She added.
"Glaceon and I tried our best." 'Glace!'
"What great camaraderie here folks." Kenny said. "As you all know today was just the exhibition match, and we also get to meet the contestants. The festival starts tomorrow bright and early."
"See you all tomorrow for the festival!" Zoey smiled and waved. "But before we go here they are now the contestants!"
There were about a hundred fifty or so contestants, by the thirties, Kenny said, "This wasn't just for an exhibition match, as we said earlier May is competing in the festival as well. Wouldn't expect less." As May walked into the stage. "Hoenn's Princess is back to compete for the title."
"Dawn isn't however, since it was just the exhibition match for her but we do have a new face here for you all. Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!" Zoey said as Ash walked in.
The other contestants filed in one after another and soon everyone was seen.
"This was all for day one of the festival. See you tomorrow where we'll have even more surprises for you!" Kenny waved. So did Zoey and Nurse Joy.
"Mommy that was great!" Brianna said when Dawn and May got back to the dressing room. She hugged Dawn tightly. "You were the best."
"She crushed me like a bug." May said with a sigh. "If everyone is like her, I have no hope for tomorrow. Oh no wait, it's just Ash."
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." Ash said as he made his way into the dressing room with a bouquet of flowers. "Congratulations on your match." He extended the flowers out to Dawn.
"For me?" Dawn took them and gave a quick sniff. "They're lovely thank you Ash."
Ash grinned and gave her a peck on the cheek. "I'll let you girls get dressed, come Bri let's try to find a vending machine I'm hungry."
"Okay! Wait can you take a picture of me and mommy first? I want to remember this moment forever!" Brianna said squealing as she went to hug her mom again.
"Of course kiddo, say Togekiss." Ash said as he readied his Poketch.
"Togekiss!" Brianna and Dawn said smiling.
When that was done May pushed Ash towards them. "I'll take a pic of you three." She said.
"Okay." Ash blushed and got in the back, holding Dawn by the waist. Dawn passed Brianna the bouquet of flowers.
"Oh this is sogoing to be my profile picture." May said as she snapped various pictures.
Brianna passed the flowers back to Dawn. "Let's go find that vending machine now." She said as she held unto Ash's hand. "Bye mommy, May, we'll see you back in the center."
"I admit I'm a bit jealous." May said as she locked the door. "I wish I had someone bringing meflowers."
Dawn blushed. "It's just a nice sentiment."
"Exactly," May said as she poked Dawn. "You deserve all of it."
"Oh hush and let's just get dressed. I want to put this nice dress away before something happens to it."
"Ash would just buy you another one." May said.
"I know." Dawn stated. "He's too much at times."
"Seriously, we do this because you and Bri deserve this and so much more. Don't make me repeat myself."
"Okay, okay. Sorry." Dawn sighed. "You're all the best I swear."
"We love you too."
