Season: I know the last time I posted was when I first went on vacation and it's been a couple months since then. You'll be glad to know though that this is a two-parter because I really wanted to make the deadline for Valentine's Day but I failed so hard because the second part to this chapter I have written isn't fully finished yet, so I decided to just split it and turn it into a two-parter. YAY! Less waiting time for you.
Family emergency happened so I couldn't update as frequently as I wanted. The update on my life is that there was a loss in my family and we are still dealing with the aftermath and trying to process/mourn properly. I didn't have time to write, mostly because I just couldn't. The words didn't come to me no matter how hard I tried. I'm starting to feel like myself and so I just knew I had to write again so I could keep my mind from wandering to dark places. I hope you all understand that I'm still not fully there, and so this chapter might not be the best I've written, but I like it well enough to post.
I have the ideas on my head so I'm going to try so hard to post updates regularly from now on even if they don't want to be written.
Ps; Love you all who still keep up with this story! Ya'll the best! Remember this is just part one. Part two is coming soon! ... Hopefully.
From the bottom of my heart, I beg you all to take care of yourselves and those you hold dear. You don't know when you could lose them and it's going to hurt when you can't say 'I love you' to them one last time.

Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven
by: Season Of Magic
[-]
A couple days before Valentine's. Call on the Xtransciever;
"Hi! It's Ash, how have you been?"
"Good. A bit stressed but that goes without saying. What about you?"
"I'm alright thank you for asking. I know this is sudden but listen I need a favor..."
"Of course, anything you need. I'm all ears."
"Well it's like this..."
Kanto Elementary was noisy, but in the good way. School had just let out for the day and most of the kids were excitedly talking to their friends while they lined up to wait for their parents or guardians to pick them up. Ash had arrived about ten minutes before the pick up time and was waiting by Bill's table. By the time his class lined up, the noise was less noticeable. Yet even if there was a lot of noise, Ash would be able to spot Brianna a mile away.
And spot her he did. Well... she spotted him first.
When she saw Ash, Brianna ran fast enough that the wind was blowing directly to her face making her hair a tangled mess.
"Dad?" Brianna asked as she tackled him. "What are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy to see you but shouldn't you be at work? Where's May?"
Ash tried to regain his breath and when he did he grinned and hugged her. He went on to sign his name next to Brianna's signature. "I have the afternoon off so I told May I'd pick you up. I have a surprise for you and Dawn."
Brianna blinked. She wasn't even sure she had heard correctly. "Can you repeat that?"
"I have a surprise for you." Ash said.
Bill and the rest of the class finally caught up to Brianna and he sat down on the desk. "Brianna, May isn't picking you up today?"
"Apparently not sir. Ash came to pick me up instead." Brianna stated as she pointed to Ash.
"Of course. Just one second..." Bill went through a list he had and nodded towards Ash. "Alright, your name is in the emergency list. You're clear Ash."
"Clear for what?"
"To take Brianna home. The last time you came, Dawn signed her off so I had to double check if you were on the list or not." Bill said.
"It's a safety protocol." Brianna stated.
Ash nodded in understanding. "I totally understand. Thanks Bill." He waved goodbye to Bill as he took Brianna's bookbag and led her to his van.
"So... What's the surprise?" Brianna asked as she waited for Ash to open the door.
"If I said what it was it wouldn't be a surprise now would it?" He said as he opened the passenger door for Brianna, closed the door and went to the driver's side. "But I think you and your mom will like it."
Brianna sighed. "Not telling me is no fun."
Ash smiled. "It'll be worth the wait." He then winked. "We're going to the office first. You've never been by to the office have you?" He said as he began to drive.
Brianna shook her head. "May usually just takes me directly home or we go grocery shopping after school that's about it."
"You're in for a treat today then."
"Don't tell me that's the surprise for me." Brianna couldn't help but state. "Because seeing mom working is not what I would consider a surprise."
Ash laughed. "No, I have other things planned today too so don't worry."
Ten minutes later they arrived at the building. Brianna got out the van and stared. Ash took Brianna's bookbag and two bags he had in the back seat and locked the van.
"This place looks pretty fancy." Was all she said as she followed Ash inside.
"It is a building used for office space after all." Ash said laughing as he showed his id to the security guard and signed Brianna in as a guest.
He placed the sticker given to them to her uniform blazer and walked over to the elevator. He called it to the lobby.
"I forgot you and mom work together."
"Well... not together since my office is in the fifth floor but I tend to spend way more time in the second floor if I'm being honest."
"You don't do much work do you?" Brianna stated with a shake of her head.
"I mean there's really not a lot to do." Ash said as the elevator opened up. "I have a small company and we haven't branched out that far into the rest of Kanto yet."
"Gary said you're lazy and I think he may have a point." Brianna said as she got into the elevator and pressed the second floor.
"Hey! I heard that." Ash said as he pretended to wince.
Brianna crossed her arms. "Prove him wrong then."
"We've been rivals since childhood. There is literallyno way to convince him I'm a successful person, even if it hit Gary in the face he wouldn't admit it."
"Deep down you two are best friends and you know it." Brianna said as the elevator opened up and she walked out.
"It's so deep that I couldn't admit it myself." Ash said. "But yes. He is."
Brianna smiled. "It's so cute!" She squealed.
"I suppose our friendship is... adorable."
"Not that." Brianna said waving her hand. She began taking pictures with her Poketch. "I mean this." She said pointing to the Dawn's Beauty Center sign.
"Oh, the sign. Yeah it's pretty great."
"Brianna!" Melody opened the door to the clinic and poked her head out. "What a pleasant surprise. Hi!"
"Melody, hello." Brianna said with a bow. She walked to the door and waited until Melody let her in. Melody did so instantaneously.
"Ash seriously, just move your office next door."
"Nice to see you too Melody."
"If I have to see your face another day I'm moving back to Shamouti Island." She said and she and Ash both laughed. "Yeah, you're right. That's not happening." She added.
"Is Dawn in?" Ash asked.
"Yep she has a free hour soon since one of her patients rescheduled but if Brianna is here I'm sure she'd rather just go home early since she'd be done after that anyways."
"Really? That's great this actually helps me out." Ash looked to Brianna and passed her a bag. "Here, this is for you. It's a change of clothes."
"I have to change out of my uniform?"
"Part of the surprise."
"Okay..." Brianna said as she took the bag. "I'll need to find a bathroom."
"Third door to your left." Melody said.
"Thank you." Brianna walked over to the door Melody said.
"While you do that I'll go get Dawn."
Ash said as he walked past Brianna. "It's two doors down."
"Got it. I'll be there when I'm done." Brianna waved.
Ash waved back.
Dawn had received a message from May earlier saying that Ash had picked up Brianna from school, that she was out doing groceries and to call him if she wanted to talk to Bri. She had found that a bit odd at first but Ash's schedule was more flexible than hers. She had meant to call him to ask about it but had gotten sidetracked checking her emails. That's when she got a knock on the door.
"Hi!" Ash said as he opened the door a couple seconds later.
"Ash, hi." Dawn said as she glanced up from her laptop. "I'd say it's a surprise to see you but..."
"I'm here every day?" Ash said as he walked inside.
"You're here every day." Dawn confirmed with a nod. She got up from her desk and met him halfway. "It's a good thing though because I have a free hour and I'm a tad bit bored out of my mind going through emails. I thought you could help me out with watering the flowers."
"Boredom relief Ash Ketchum at your service madam." Ash said with a fake accent as he bowed. "And I keep telling you that we can just tell Gary to take some of them to his lab."
"Yeah, I keep telling you that's not happening. And oh? Boredom relief service? More like bag stealer." Dawn said with a laugh as she pointed at what he had on his shoulders. "Isn't that Bri's?" She asked.
"What? This?" Ash said with a surprised look on his face. "No, I'm just... very interested in... fairy type Pokemon. Wanted to fit in with Bri you know?"
"Ahuh." Dawn said, a skeptical look on her face. "Fess up Ketchum, or you won't be getting a kiss."
Ash pouted. "Fine, this is Bri's bag."
"And you have it because?" Dawn said with a raised eyebrow. It was fun teasing him. "Also if you have her bag, where is Bri?"
"I have it because I picked her up from school today. She's okay don't worry should be here soon." Ash said and Dawn stared. He sighed and passed Dawn the other bag he was holding. "Change into this and all your questions will be answered."
Dawn took the bag from him. "I haven't had my afternoon coffee yet it's too early for riddles."
Ash pecked her on the lips. "Change, then we'll talk." He said as he walked out the office. "Bri and I will be waiting outside."
Dawn sighed. "There better be coffee after this."
"I'll get you as many as you want." Ash promised as he locked the door behind him.
Ash walked over to the bathroom and knocked on the door. "Bri, you ready yet?"
"Yeah..." She said as she opened the door. "Just one problem."
Ash blinked. "The dress was tailor made for you I'm a hundred percent sure it fits."
"It's not that..." Brianna said as she walked out. "Isn't this toofancy?"
"Not where we're going." Ash replied as he stared at Bri's outfit. Her dress was light beige, shimmering in the top and with a bow in the middle. She had a headband similar in color and black platform sandals. "See? Perfect." He said as he took out his Poketch to take pictures.
"Are you sure I should be wearing this?" Brianna asked as she adjusted the headband.
"Yep."
"Ash Ketchum you're dead!" They heard Dawn yell.
"... I'm assuming that means she opened the bag and found her dress." Ash said.
Brianna blinked. "You got one for mom too?"
"Of course I did." Ash replied instantaneously.
"We're not surviving the day." Brianna stated.
It took twenty minutes for Dawn to come out her office. The clacking noise of high heels made her presence known and Ash had his Poketch ready.
A swooshing noise of fine silk glided across the floor and Ash zoomed out to capture the elegance that Dawn portrayed. A cream dress, similar in style to Brianna's but lighter in color made it's appearance in the Poketch and Ash recorded all that he needed then closed the app.
"You look amazing." He said, giving two thumbs up.
"Yeah? Well I feel ridiculously overdressed." Dawn said as she gently hit Ash on the arm with the clutch she was currently holding. "This is too much."
Ash grinned. "It's really not you'll see." He passed her a cup with a straw. "Here, drink this while I go get changed."
Dawn gawked. "What?"
"Well, I'm obviously not going out with two beautiful ladies looking like this am I?" He said as he pointed to himself.
Dawn sighed as she and Brianna sat down on the lounge area couch. "We don't have a say on this do we?"
"Nope! Be right back." He walked out the office and went up the stairs.
"Seriously Bri, what is going on?"
Brianna shrugged as she took a bite out of a bagel. "No idea mom."
When Ash came back, Brianna and Dawn were playing a game on their Poketch.
"Mom, no you have to feed the Magikarp."
"That's what I'm doing." Dawn said as she stared at the screen with a frustrated expression.
"Well... if the game is more fun than us hanging out..." Ash said with a cough.
"Hanging out with you will always be more fun than a game dad." Brianna said as she brought her arm down. She gawked in disbelief. "Dad?"
"No, his twin, Cinder Ketchum." Ash said with a roll of his eyes. He snapped his blazer as if to prove a point.
"I like it." Dawn said she stood up from the couch and began to take pictures with her Poketch.
"He looks like Jack Dawson." Melody couldn't help but point out. She was trying hard to contain her laughter.
"And Jack was a handsome guy." Dawn said. Ash stared in disbelief. "You're cuter Ash."
Ash grinned.
"Can you explain to us why we're dressed like this?" Brianna couldn't help but ask.
Melody was also taking pictures of Ash to show to Misty who was out of town for the week. Something about her sisters needing help at the aquarium. Ash's outfit which was black shoes and dress pants, a white shirt and a dark blue blazer would be the highlight of the conversation for sure. His gelled back hair would probably make Misty lose it and make her laugh for hours on end as it surely has for Melody.
"It's a surprise." Ash said as he extended his arms out to Brianna and Dawn. "Now let's go ladies. Your magical ride awaits."
"I'm still very confused as to why we're dressed like this." Dawn said as they walked out the building. "... Is that a limo?"
There was indeed a limousine parked right by the building. The driver bowed to them and opened the back door.
"That's our ride and yes, it's a limo." Ash said as he ushered Dawn and Brianna inside. "Ladies first."
Dawn sighed as she let herself be helped inside. "This is seriously too much."
"Wow, this has a mini fridge!" Brianna said once she sat down.
Ash sat next to them and smiled brightly. "Nothing is too much when it comes to you two."
He closed the door and told the driver they were ready.
"Of course sir. We'll be on our way shortly."
And on their way they were.
