Season: Oh hi, can you believe I've been working on this chapter for two whole months? I know! Totally unacceptable. And let's not get started on how I feel something is completely OFF with it... but I love it just the same and some parts have me laughing hysterically. Imagine Bayleef glaring at Dawn and internally thinking how much she wants to murder her but she can't... Ufff. Jealous pokemon are a whole other level. Enjoy this chapter, lemme know your thoughts and I'll just... get to writing the next chapter so you're not waiting another two months.

Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven
by: Season Of Magic
{~}
Seven in the morning had Dawn and Brianna both rushing to get ready.
This was the first time Brianna had slept through her alarm and she was screaming frantically.
"This never happens to me." The eight year old exclaimed as she brushed her hair, placing it into a ponytail. A red ribbon tied neatly. With a sigh of relief she made it downstairs, backpack at hand at seven thirty and was greeted to the sight of her mother who like her was pacing around the room wondering just why she couldn't wake up early for a change.
"Good morning Bri and I'm sorry but I don't even have breakfast ready yet." Dawn exclaimed.
"Morning mom." Brianna said as she placed her backpack down. "It's okay. I'll drink a glass of juice and a piece of toast. I'll buy something at school for lunch."
Dawn smiled. "We're a disorganized mess huh?"
"Blame it on dad for bringing us back so late last night."
"I still can't feel my feet." Dawn said laughing. She was totally wearing flat shoes to work today.
"If we hurry we can make it out by seven forty five but May's not here yet." Brianna said.
The front door unlocked. "Sorry! Sorry! Totally overslept. Parrot I brought you a couple granola bars we had you can eat those now and some pastries you can save for lunch. Dawn here, a coffee and a bagel." May said as she rushed in. She passed a bag to Brianna and a travel mug full of coffee to Dawn.
"You overslept, yet you had time to make coffee and a bagel?" Dawn said with raised eyebrows, clearly impressed. She took the mug and was instantly drinking it.
"Hey this isn't homemade it's my favorite drink from that coffee shop over a block near the office." Dawn said after tasting it.
"Yeah, Ash passed it over to me to give to you. I just put it into a travel mug was all. The pastries and bagel are from there too."
"How'd he manage this?" Dawn asked. She cut the bagel in half and passed one piece over to Brianna.
May shrugged. "Apparently Ash woke up just in time to go grab these and come back to give to me. He's on his way to work as we speak."
"And we have to hurry if we don't want to be late." Brianna said munching on her piece of bagel. She had gone to the kitchen to grab a glass of orange juice.
Dawn finished her coffee and went to brush her teeth, Brianna following her.
"Maybe we're not so disorganized." Brianna pointed out as they went back down to grab their things.
"This is the last time Ash takes us out on a work/school night." Dawn stated.
Brianna grinned. "You know he will do it again."
"Yeah," Dawn sighed as if giving in, "he really would."
Brianna patted her mom on the shoulder. "We got ourselves a keeper."
"We did." Dawn said agreeing.
"Stop being sentimental and let's head out." May couldn't help but interrupt. "You can do this after you come back home tonight."
Brianna placed her granola bar and pastries into her backpack and held it as she walked outside. "She's right. Onwards to a great day!"
Dawn got into the car and unlocked the doors so Brianna and May could get in as well. "Onwards!" She said when they got in and closed the door.
Dawn stifled a yawn as she was reading through a client's report. It was eleven in the morning and the coffee and bagel had already left her system. She was beginning to crash.
At that moment Ash walked in with a bag and a drink at hand. "Hey, I brought you a tea and some cookies." He said shaking the bag.
Dawn raised her hand and ushered him to come over and give her the drink. "Why are you so good to me?"
"Just being a good fiancée and apologizing for having you be so tired. May messaged me saying you guys nearly hit a pole this morning." Ash said as he passed her the goodies.
Dawn nodded as she rubbed her eyes and drank the tea. "Yeah, would have hit it but May kept yelling 'pole, Dawn, pole!' I swear she called me worst driver only second to Gary."
Ash laughed. "I can assure you Gary has hit way more than poles with that old car of his."
Dawn gasped. "Don't let him hear you call that 'sweet-baby'an old car."
"Oh, I've mentioned it alright." Ash said as he grabbed a watering can. "It's my turn to water these right?" He said as he pointed to all the flowers around them.
"It's my turn but be a dear and do it anyways." Dawn stated as she once again glanced over to the report. "I still have to sign this."
Ash smiled. "On it!" He walked over and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Hurry up so we can go out for lunch. I hear they are opening up a new sandwich shop downstairs."
"Oh yeah I saw the sign. The grand opening is this week right?"
"Today." Ash winked. "Already booked us a table."
Dawn giggled. "You don't book tables at a sandwich shop you goof."
"You can if you work in the building." Ash stated.
"Okay fine. Let me sign these and we'll be off."
"I have to water the plants first." Ash said.
"Maybe we should donate some of these to Gary. Give him something to do as well."
"I can see it now, 'I'm a scientist. I have better things to do than take care of plants.'" Ash mimicked Gary. "Let's do it."
Dawn laughed. "Message him and we'll bring them over to him on our lunch break."
Ash bowed. "My delivery van is at your service ma'am."
"Why thank you kind sir." Dawn said standing up. "Let's go deliver some plants."
Gary blinked. "So you're telling me, that you're here because you want me to babysit your plants."
"I mean when you put it that way..." Dawn said. "Yes."
"There's so many that we can't take care of them all in the office so we decided to bring some here. You and Tracey can watch over them for us."
"Ash, I don't know if you've noticed this but we aren't a flower shop." Gary stated.
"Really? Wouldn't have noticed." Ash said as he swirled around in Gary's chair. "Oh, what's this?" He almost pressed a button on the computer but Gary got to it in time.
"Stop that." Gary said as he pushed the chair out the way. "We're working on something important."
"But you have time to water some plants right?"
Gary sighed. "I'll put them in your area and Tracey can handle it."
Dawn blinked. "Ash has an area here?"
"We've told you a million times that he and I used to be Pokemon trainers right? His Pokemon are all still here. How many Tauros was it you caught in the safari zone again?"
Ash laughed. "Thirty." He stood up from his chair. "It has been a while since I've seen my friends. Come on Dawn, I'll introduce you."
"Here's one of them." Gary said as he took them to an aquarium tank he had near his office. In it was a Kingler swimming around. Ash placed his hands on the tank and grinned.
"Kingler! Hey buddy how 'ya doing? Is Gary treating you okay?"
Gary threw a couple pokemon food pellets into the tank. "It's fine Ash. It even has its own tank as you can see."
"Last time I was here it was still in a fish bowl." Ash said. "So I had to make sure."
"You don't seem like a water type trainer to me." Dawn said as she too placed a hand on the tank. "Hi!"
"He has a lot of different types. He's not known for common sense." Gary said.
"It's because I have common sense that I have a lot of different types. They all did their best and so did I. It was a combined effort."
Dawn smiled. "That's so sweet."
"Yeah, they all think so too. Whenever he's here it's like a field day for them." Gary said.
Dawn grinned and grabbed Ash's hand. "Let's go."
"If I were you I wouldn't do that in front of Bayleef." Gary warned as he lead them to the back where the garden was.
"Why?" Dawn asked.
Ash rubbed his head with his free head. "Bayleef's always been a bit... attached."
"A bit attached? Bayleef and all the Tauros are an absolute menace when Ash is around." Gary exclaimed with his arms raised.
"You're just jealous." Ash said.
"As if."
When they hit the back of the laboratory, which to Dawn was way bigger than what Gary had mentioned, they witnessed Tracey doing what he did best. Sketching away.
"Hey Trace!" Ash waved and yelled.
Tracey looked up and smiled. "Hey Ash. Nice to see you around these parts."
Ash grinned back. "Sorry, sorry. I'll try to stop by more often."
Tracey waved his pencil. "Doubt it but okay."
"You wound me." Ash said with a wince and making a fake stab to his heart.
Tracey smiles. "Maybe that will help you pay attention to your pokemon. Pikachu isn't the only one you have."
"Thirty Tauros and a Bayleef that keep arguing back and forth, Yeah Gary has mentioned it."
"Don't let the others hear that you forgot them, they'll feel bad." Tracey said.
"They are too many to list but that doesn't mean I have forgotten them."
"Of course you haven't."
"I have not!" Ash defended himself. "For example, last time I was around Bayleef and Bulbasaur were still fighting for grass domination. How has that turned out?"
"About as good as you can imagine." Gary said. "Bulbasaur is a good leader, the others listen. Bayleef just screams a lot."
"What about...—" Ash asked.
"— All of your Pokemon are fine Ash." Gary interrupted. "Come see for yourself." He lead them to where Bulbasaur was.
They couldn't get another word in because as soon as Bulbasaur saw Ash, things got wild. Quilava, Corphish, and all the others simply ran towards him.
"Hey guys!" Ash exclaimed happily. "Whoa, alright let's calm down." He added when he saw they were getting too excited.
"They really love you." Dawn stated.
"And I them, but ... Bulbasaur! I know what you're going to do with those vines and no. I'm not a little kid you can throw into the air anymore."
Bulbasaur stared with what Dawn could describe as a pouty look.
All of a sudden Ash was shielded away from her eyes, and all she could hear were happy screeches.
"Ah, that must be Bayleef." Dawn concluded. She had never seen one before.
"Yep that's Bayleef alright." Gary stated. "I'd stay away if I were you."
"Bayleef I'm happy to see you too but... I can't... breathe." Ash was gasping for air.
Bayleef let him go and Ash tried to regain his breath.
Dawn handed him a water bottle. "This should help."
"He'll be fine when he gets air into his lungs." Gary couldn't help but state. Then he coughed and stood in the middle of all the pokemon. He clapped his hands. "Alright, as you can see, your trainer is here. Hurray."
Dawn snickered. "What are you doing?"
Gary glared at her then continued on as if nothing happened. "Yes, we all can see Ash is here but we all must remember our manners. I'm talking to you Bayleef and Bulbasaur. I see you. Put those vine down and away." He nodded his head. "Great. Now if you all can form a circle that would be fantastic. Ash will come over to each of you individually later on but for now I think he has something to tell all of you together."
Ash finally had regained air. "I do." He said as he walked over to the circle that was forming. He took Dawn's hand in his and they both walked together.
"Bayleef, the vine." Gary said again.
"Everyone, I want you all to meet an important person in my life. This is Dawn. We're getting married."
The Pokemon all stared at each other, their trainer, the woman who was with him, Gary, back to their trainer again. Then all hell broke loose. Ash couldn't hear anything at this point and simply sighed.
Gary whistled. "I know this is a shock. Trust me, I'm shocked too. I thought I'd be married before him." He said laughing. "But, you're an important part of Ash's life and I'm sure that's the reason he came over, to share this part of his life with you."
"We came to deliver plants." Dawn couldn't help but say honestly. "But I'm happy to meet all of you." She said with a smile on her face. She un-clasped her hand from Ash and leaned down to meet the Pokemon at eye level. "I'm Dawn, Ash's fiancée and I love him very much. But I can see now that it's probably not as much as you all do." She laughed.
"There's all different types of love." Ash said. "And I have room in my heart for each of you."
Dawn stared fondly at him. "That is true. The love I have for Piplup and all my Pokemon is different from the one I have for you and Brianna but it's still love." Then she smiled. "Hey!
I have an idea... I'm meeting you guys, so why don't you also meet all of my friends while we're here?"
"That's a fantastic idea Dawn." Ash said. "They can all get introduced to each other and become buddies."
Dawn dug into her purse and took out her poke balls. "Come out guys!" She called as she tossed them in the air. Piplup, Togekiss, Mamoswine, Pachirisu, Buneary and Quilava came out.
Ash blinked. "You have a Quilava as well?"
"Yep! Have had this cutie since it hatched from an egg as an adorable cyndaquil." Dawn smiled, remembering with happiness.
"The egg you got in that one contest from a girl that's from Johto." Ash said with a nod. "Bri showed me."
"That same one."
Dawn's pokemon mingled with Ash's, and a couple minutes later they all seemed to be getting along. the Quilava couldn't keep staring off each other.
Ash couldn't help but think he was forgetting something, and wanted to facepalm himself when he recalled what it was. He took Pikachu out the pokeball. "Sorry buddy! Here you go, have fun with all your friends."
Dawn stared. "Pikachu, you were with Ash all this time?"
"Pikaaaaa!"
Dawn sighed. "You should call it out more."
"Pikachu gets plenty of exercise. Maybe our Pokémon can train together? You'll need it for competitions."
Dawn stared out into the field, where Pikachu was now getting acquainted with her Buneary. "Fresh air will do them good, but I don't know about training them. The exhibition match with May felt great really, but I'm not sure..."
Ash smiled. "Whatever you decide, we're in this together. Besides, Bri only has two years left until she begins her journey."
"Must she really?" Dawn said pouting. "I'm going to miss that munchkin."
"She's set in following your footsteps and being a coordinator just like you. We'll miss her but all we can do is watch over her these next two years to ensure she'll succeed and that she's ready for the world."
Dawn giggled. "More like the world isn't ready for her."
"With her way of thinking, she could conquer any region she chooses." Ash agreed. "You've taught her well."
"I do my best."
"You do great."
They kept staring at their pokemon.
"Do you ever wonder what it would have been like if we met when we were younger?" Ash asked.
"You weren't into contests and I wasn't into regular training. I doubt we would have crossed paths."
"Yeah but you were traveling around with Paul."
"We went our separate ways multiple times." Dawn admitted as she walked to one of the nearby fences and leaned on it. "His training method was really scary to me so I mostly trained by myself. To this day I still wonder what I ever saw in him."
Ash nodded in silence. "I hear bad boys are the popular ones. I wouldn't have stood a chance against him."
Dawn stared at Ash. "You're kidding right? Have you looked in a mirror? I see the hottest guy in front of me right now. I bet you were adorable as a teen."
Ash shook his head. "You've seen the sweaters I wear. My style hasn't changed much."
"Absolutely adorable."
"If I take your plants will you get off my property, along with all this mushiness?" Gary asked, sighing and pretending to gag.
"You can take our plants but you can't take our love." Ash said.
Gary stared at his watch. "Your lunch break is over. Go back."
"We decided we want to stay here." Ash said.
"You can't decide that." Gary stated.
"Freedom of speech."
"Trespassing." Gary retorted.
"This is a public lab!"
"Oak Lab. Are you an Oak?" Gary asked, Ash shook his head. "Then you're trespassing."
Dawn giggled. "You two are even more adorable."
"We're not adorable." Gary and Ash said together.
"You even finish each other sentences. That's goals."
"How is this finishing each other's sentences?" Gary couldn't help but wonder.
"Exactly." Ash said with a nod.
Dawn smiled. "Friendship goooaaaals."
"We are not friendship goals!" Gary and Ash replied.
"Exactly." Ash crossed his arms. "We're not even friends."
Dawn wanted to roll her eyes. "Of course you're not."
"Today was a good day." Ash said as they walked out the lab.
"Was it?" Dawn said with her eyebrows raised in pure confusion.
"Of course." Ash replied as Pikachu perched itself on his shoulder.
"Is Pikachu nesting?" Dawn couldn't help but ask.
"Oh, this?" Ash said as he pet Pikachu with his free arm. "It's something it used to do when we were younger."
"Chuuu!" Pikachu screeched happily.
"Huh..." Dawn could only say, then kept walking. "Piplup never did that sort of thing."
Ash shrugged. "We were 'odd' weren't we buddy?"
"Chu!" Pikachu said, as if agreeing.
"That's not odd that's adorable." Dawn said taking a picture.
"I'm manly not adorable."
"Of course you are dear." Dawn said giggling as she sent the picture to May.'Is this normal?'
May instantly replied back. 'Those two are attached to the hips. It's more like an Ash-and-Pikachu thing.' She sent back a couple pictures.
Dawn blinked at the sight. Ash and Pikachu eating at the dinner table. Pikachu sitting in a floatie in the bathtub. Ash scrubbing Pikachu with soap bubbles.
"And he says he's not adorable." Dawn murmured to herself.
"What was that?" Ash said, looking back to where Dawn had stopped.
"Ah, nothing just messaging May to see what she's cooking for Dinner." Dawn said as she replied back. 'Super adorable. If Ash asks, we are talking about food. What's for dinner?
'Spaghetti for the grown ups, the parrot wants those Piplup shaped Mac and cheese.'
'I want that too.'
'You're not a kid.' May inserted a eye-rolling emoji.
'I'll grab Ash's then.'
'He just thinks he's a kid.'
"Dawn? Hurry up."
Dawn merely replied with the laughing face emoji. 'Gotta go before he leaves me stranded at Gary's'
''Think you can lock Gary inside the lab before you leave?'
'He's not my problem.'
May sent devil, sad face emojis.
Dawn laughed at that and placed her wrist down and ran to catch up with Ash.
Ash grabbed her hand. "Be careful there could be holes on the ground."
"Thank you my hero."
Ash kissed her hand. "You're welcome my princess."
Dawn blushed and looked away.
Ash grinned at that.
