Season: I know you all must think I'm the most horrible person ever but I promise my long absence can be explained. First of all, I had started writing this chapter as soon as I posted the previous one but I didn't like where it was going (shocker) so it just lay forgotten. Then I went on vacation and when I came back, less than three weeks later my country was in total shut down due to covid. I'm very risk and an introvert so I was happy to stay inside. But then two months and a half into not going outside, I had to be rushed to the hospital where I stayed for five days, then a month later I was rushed again and stayed there for a couple weeks. They didn't know what was wrong with me but eventually they did figure it out, I had a couple procedures done and I should be recovering and getting some relief but eventually I will have to have a surgery. My grandfather recently passed away too so my life is currently just stress all over the place for me. but anyways that's not what you came to hear. I hope I won't take so long to update again (fingers crossed!)

Please stay safe. i lovd you all.

Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven

by: Season Of Magic

{~}

It was certainly unusual for Dawn to be the first one up. Yet here she was, making her way downstairs. Yawning and walking into the living room, she rubbed her eyes as she stepped into the kitchen, where the rays of the sun illuminated through the window. She yawned again as she pressed the espresso machine to see if it was plugged in, and once she was certain it was on, she placed a couple spoonfuls of her favorite blend. Store bought instant cappuccino, what of it? She made sure there was enough water in the other side and pressed the button. Another yawn escaped her lips and she thought that perhaps she hadn't gotten enough sleep.

She sauntered over to the fridge and took out bread, cheese, eggs, ketchup and some bacon slices. Closing the door and bringing the items to the counter she then scouted the pantry for seasonings, then procured a couple frying pans and bowls along with spoons and forks from the cabinet. She cracked open the eggs in a bowl as she put some slices of bread, and others with cheese in the toaster and pressed down. Seasonings added into the eggs, she put oil into two of the frying pans and waited for them to heat up.

Whoever said you couldn't be a multitasker hasn't met Dawn.

Humming a song she heard on the radio a couple days ago that hadn't left her ears yet, she went to check on her coffee as she glanced to the pan from the corner of the eye and she made her way over to grab a mug. She was making excellent time, or so the glowing of the stove top said, with It's beeping 6:45 in bright blue.

She carefully tossed the whisked eggs into one pan, bacon into the other, and she twirled around to grab a glove as she poured in the finished coffee into a mug and stirred in at least four spoonfuls of sugar. If it was a bit much, she'd reduce the amount tomorrow, for today was her...

Her Poketch rang, flashing the name 'bestie' and She pressed the answer button.

"I'm surprised you can even get up so early." Dawn was quick to reply, not giving Zoe a chance to speak.

Har, har, Dawn. Zoe stuck out her tongue. I had to set an alarm... and I snoozed through two of them BUT... she paused for effect. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Dawn smiled. "Thank you Zoe, I'm glad someone remembered."

Zoe laughed. As if Bri would forget such a day. She remembers even the tiniest of details. Remembering her mother's birthday is like remembering to breathe for her.

Dawn smiled. "That's my little genius."

Zoe grinned. "You mean our little genius."

"Yeah, yeah." Dawn took a sip of her coffee then went to check on the eggs and bacon. They were done so she placed the mug down, turned off the stove and put half of the meal away for Brianna when she woke up. She put the pieces of bread that were ready in one place and put the grilled cheese sandwich on Brianna's plate.

"Seriously, you're the first one to wish me a happy birthday"

She put a slice of bread on a plate and added the scrambled eggs and bacon to it, squeezing some ketchup on top and squishing it all down with the other slice. Boom. Easy breakfast.

Why wouldn't I be the first one... I'm your bestie aren't I?

"Don't let Ash hear you."

Pppsssh! Ash has to face my wrath if he wishes to contend my bestieness. As will Kenny.

Dawn laughed and took a bit of her sandwich.

"I will let him know that he has a friendship fight arranged."

You do that.

Dawn heard rustling and the fromt door opening, then the sound of tiny feet approaching. "Hang on Zoe. It looks like a munchkin just awoke from its slumber and opened doors."

"Mommy! There you are! I was looking for you." Brianna ran over to Dawn and hugged her tightly.

"Sorry sweetheart... I woke up early today. Did you have a dream you want to talk about?"

"No. I was going to make you breakfast but you're up!" Brianna responded.

"Oh? Any particular reason?"

"I make you breakfast every morning mommy." She stated matter-of-factly.

"Yes but I thought today would be different?"

"Hmmm..." Brianna pondered this for what felt like a minute. "... not really?"

"Huh." Dawn responded flatly. "Did you open the door?" She asked her daughter curiously.

"I saw dad when I was coming down the stairs."

Zoe laughed. Well, it looks like the family is together. I'll let you go so you can eat breakfast with Bri. Have a nice day Dawn.

"Thank you Zoe."

"ZOE!"

Hi munchkin. Bye munchkin. Dawn closed her Poketch All of a sudden the light smell of fire came into the kitchen. She didn't leave anything on did she? As she looked to the stove Ash came in carrying a small cake with a single lit candle on top.

"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to my dear fiancée Dawn! Happy birthday to you!" Ash happily sang as he entered the kitchen. He pointed to the candle and he walked close to her. "Make a wish!"

Dawn was both in shock but clapping her hands happily. She blew out the candle.

"Yaaaaaay!" Brianna squealed. "What did you wish for?"

"If I say it, it doesn't come true." Dawn reminded her daughter. "But if it helps you, I have everything I could ever ask for right here. I don't need anything else."

Brianna hugged Dawn. "Awww, mommy!"

Ash put the cake down and went to the living room then came back bag in hand. He handed over a bag. "Happy birthday gorgeous." He said as he kissed her on the lips.

"For me?" Dawn took the bag, kissing him back and couldn't resist opening it to see what was inside. "Ash..."

"You have to open it but before you say anything, I've been saving up for a while for this, it didn't even dent my savings I promise."

Dawn glared, but then softened up. "Alright if you say so. Since it's my birthday I'll forgive you."

"Only for today?" Ash pouted,

"Only for today." Dawn nodded her head.

"Better than nothing." Brianna snickered softly.

"Don't make me tickle you munchkin." Ash said with a smile. He didn't really mean it.

"Sorry! Well... what is it mommy?" She asked questioningly.

"It's..." Dawn took the present out the bag. She opened the small box. Inside the box was a beautiful necklace with a blue diamond in the shape of a ribbon.

"It's to match your ring." Ash stated.

"Ash..."

"Uh-uh." Ash wagged a finger. "You told me you wouldn't get mad."

"It's too much Ash!"

"It's custom made. No returns." Ash said. "Besides, I think it will look better on you." He shrugged.

"Oh alright." Dawn sighed and was turning over so he could place it on. "But this is the last one!"

"If you're mad now just wait until Christmas." Ash mumbled as he placed the necklace on her.

"What was that?" Dawn asked.

"NOTHING!"

"That's what I thought."
