Season: I am so sorry to say that this chapter only went under revision for a draft and a half rather than my usual style of writing (which is put it off until the last minute then write whatever you can and post that only when you are satisfied. ... ok so maybe it is kind of like my regular writing...)

But this is because I may not be able to post for a while and I wanted you guys to suffer through Delia & Johanna are sweet but in a psycho kind of way with me.

On Friday I am going into the doctor's to get a plan and a date for a surgery I am undergoing either this or next month. I will be very stressed out, then recovering so I can't really post anything even if I wanted to, as it's going to be a eye surgery.

I will try my best to post the next chapter before summer ends or early fall. I already started writing the beginning of it, and the other bit is in my head, just gotta jot it down.

BUT! As thank you for bearing with me and being such a understanding fandom I can give you a little insert from the next chapter.

Dawn hugged her mother as Ash plugged in the coffee machine and was deciding what flavor to use. He took the basket and shook it.

"What's the poison going to be today ladies?" He asked.

"Vanilla cappuccino!" Brianna chirped.

"You don't even drink coffee." Ash said with a deadpan look.

Dawn was now pouring Bri a cup of orange juice and gave a sheepish expression. "Actually last week I let her try coffee with milk."

"Dunking the bread into it was the best part." Brianna piped in.

"Is this why she's been so energetic?" Ash asked.

"Probably." Was all Dawn replied.

END SCENE. This scene is actually a throwback to my childhood. Latino parents swear that you couldn't drink coffee for one silly reason or the other, (it stunts your growth, etc...) but then they would often give us coffee with milk and a slice or two of toast (can be buttered too.) for breakfast before school. I would just dunk mine in and see it sink to the bottom of my cup. Then would eat it soggy. Still delicious haha. I'd do the same with crackers and of course the alternative to coffee is hot chocolate. Yum.

Well thank you again for being so understanding!

See you soon-ish? I guess...?

SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE BY NARRATOR: Please spare the poor soul that is the writer and show your support in reviews. Every bit of love counts! And will make the writer write faster, (and maybe pay me... HINT HINT! The typo budget has to pay itself somehow.)

Narrator: A little too long in this dark, cold place you call your mind.

Season: And you will stay there.

Narrator: NEVER! AFTER A THOUSAND YEARS I AM FREE! its time to conquer earth!

Season: We are watching Merlin now. Not Power Rangers.

Narrator: Cabbage head.

Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven

by: Season Of Magic

{~}

Johanna's experience in Kanto had been pleasant thus far. She didn't think it was too different from Sinnoh but if you asked her, Kanto had much more nature and wild life. Pallet Town seemed a smal, quaint town. Not much to see but still something to be fond about in its own way.

The drive to Ash's childhood home was short and as she had noticed, with lots of greenery around:

The house seemed typical to a home like any other that was well kept and loved. It seemed as if Ash's mother enjoyed gardening, as the trees, grass and flowers were neatly trimmed and she couldn't find anything to complain about. Not that she would! The fence and house were freshly painted, white in color with a red coat in the rooftop and the top of the entrance. A mailbox right next to it, nothing odd about it.

The stones leading up to the entrance were nothing to talk about either and she noted the steps, so she wouldn't fall when ehe got off the van.

She smiled and opened the door, grabbing her bag and closing the door as she hopped off:

"Thank you for bringing me." She said to her future son-in-law.

Ash smiled in return as he turned off the van and also hoped off, taking the keys with him.

"You're welcome. Come on, I'll introduce you. I'm sure my mom will be shocked once she knows who you are and I can't miss that moment." He laughed a bit at saying that.

Johanna laughed as well, nodding as she followed Ash.

She once again noticed how everything was nice, nothing seeming out of place.

"Your mother must work quite hard in maintaining everything. It's so lovely." She can't help but say.

"You can thank Mimey for most of that." Ash said with a laugh. "But my mother does love gardening."

"Mimey?" Johanna asked, following Ash up the steps and waited for him to open the door.

"Mr. Mime, he seemed to enjoy helping my mother more than battling with me." He explained. "So I decided to let him stay here. Keeps my mother company and helped give me peace of mind knowing that my mother wasn't alone when I was out traveling so much." He added.

The door opened just as Johanna said, "ah, I see."

And she wasn't sure what she was expecting but whatever it was, this was it.

Everything looked meticulously clean. There were a lot of pictures in frames, trophies, badges still in their case; all in all the house was like a shrine.

"I can surmise you're an only child?" Johanna asked her future son-in-law with a bemused smile. "I was the same way with Dawn. Still am actually. Don't tell her but I still have various pictures of her all over the place." She winked and laughed.

"Yeah..." Ash sheepishly rubbed his hands on the back of his head. "I told her I was going to take the things to my new place, (they used to be in my old room,) but she threw a fit and well I couldn't do that to her. So here they stayed. Well they moved it down here..." cue awkward laugh as the pointed to his things.

Johanna nodded in understanding. It seemed like mothers thought alike.

"Ash is that you? I wasn't expecting you until tomorrow. Well, since you're here can you help me set up the guest room? I'm finishing up dinner for when she arrives and Mimey is finishing up dusting the top floor so he can't do it." A auburn haired woman peeked her head out the kitchen. "My hands are a bit— oh!" Startled, the woman couldn't help but wave. "Hello!"

Johanna waved back amusedly. "Hello."

The woman blinked, wiping her hands on her apron as she came out the kitchen. She smiled widely. "Welcome to Delia's Bed & Breakfast. You must be Johanna correct? I'm Delia." She bowed.

"Yes I'm Johanna. It's nice to meet you. I apologize that I'm late, also I'm quite full from eating a lot of junk food so I apologize for that as well."

Ash nodded. "Yeah, we just came from Dawn's place. The surprise party was a sucess but it seems that Johanna had booked a stay here when she planned the trip and so I decided to bring her over. Can't let mom get lost in Kanto on her first day right?" He said with a laugh. Then he added, "this is Dawn's mother if it wasn't obvious already. Funny coincidence huh?" Ash finished.

Delia was trying to catch up to everything her son said. "I do recall you mentioning you and Dawn's friends were planning something for her birthday. I didn't think it was bringing someone from all the way in Sinnoh. But I'm glad to hear that it went well." She smiled brightly. "I do see the resemblance on the hair and eyes. Nice to meet you. Once again I'm Delia. As the name of the place probably suggested." She added laughing.

Johanna smiled extending her hand out. "Again it's a pleasure to meet you."

Delia did the same, shaking her hand and then bringing her in for a hug. "It's nice to meet you as well." She glanced over to Ash. "Scrap the guest room, fix your old room instead while me and Johanna sit down for a cup of coffee."

Johanna hugged back and nodded. "I can go for a coffee."

"You'll be drinking more than that. There are cookies and sandwiches."

"I really am quite full."

Delia shook her head. "Nonsense." She then glanced to her son. "Ash, room."

"But mooooom...!"

"Ash Ketchum don't make me use my outdoor voice young man."

"Mother I am twenty eight years old."

"And I'm well over fifty but you don't hear me complaining."

"A Pokémon Master wouldn't have to make other people's bed."

"Well, that's too bad that you aren't a Pokémon Master then huh?"

"Mom!"

"Is this any way you treat your future mother-in-law when she's visiting for the first time?" Delia chastised.,

Ash mumbled something about being in his twenties and still having to listen to his mom as he stumbled up the stairs. "It's not her I don't like it's doing chores."

Delia shook her head and Johanna stifled a laugh.

"Your son really is quite a delight." Johanna said as she sipped the cup of coffee she was offered.

Delia sat down next to Johanna and sighed. "Honestly, he drives me crazy some days but he means well."

Johanna stopped sipping her coffee. "Don't they all though? Mom, I'm capable of waking up on my own just fine I don't need an alarm." She imitated her daughter then sipped her coffee again. "Was still late to pick up her Pokémon."

"Dawn too!?" Delia gasped.

"How there were any left for her to choose from is still a mystery to me."

"Ash's only option wasn't even a starter. There was only a Pikachu left."

Now that was news to Johanna. "They let children start with non-starters here?"

"Ash was the exception. I swear that child of mine is something else."

"It seems like he did quite good on in travels though." Johanna said as she glanced toward all the items around the house again. "Dawn only has coordinating ribbons."

"Ash tried a lot of things during his travels." Delia said proudly. "He failed in some, succeeded in others but no matter what he's still a winner to me."

"Of course." Johanna said as she bit into one of the sandwiches. "Oh, this is delicious."

"The secret is in the basil sauce." Delia winked.

Ash walked down the stairs almost frantically. "Mom I'm starving..."

"Did you finish what I asked you?" She asked calmly. She was already used to her son's appetite and over exaggerations of things.

"Yes. My room is ready for someone to sleep in it again after like a decade."

"It hasn't been that long." She promised Johanna. "He likes to exaggerate to prove some nonexistent point."

"There were literal dust bunnies underneath the bed. It's a bunk bed, by the way, you'll have to climb some stairs sorry."

"That's fine." Johanna assured him.

"And if you need to wake up early I'm sure my Voltorb alarm with the Pidgey inside still works."

"Dawn had a Starly one. You two are really alike haha."

"Did she throw it at the wall too?"

"More times than I can count."

Delia made room in the sofa so Ash could sit, right in the middle of both women. He took the seat and sighed as he grabbed one of the sandwiches in the table.

"I thought you said you weren't hungry." He said before he began stuffing his face.

Johanna simply sipped her coffee once more. "Your mother drives a hard bargain."

"It was either she join me for coffee and sandwiches or suffer through the meal I made."

"Which apparently we're having for breakfast tomorrow instead."

"Knowing Ash, there might not be any left tonight once he finds it." Delia retorted.

"I'm pweshy full." Ash replied, munching on bread.

"You're on the second sandwich as we speak sweetheart."

"Details." Ash said waving his hand.

"I find it utterly ridiculous that I am meeting you before Dawn." Delia shook her head with a sigh. "I truly apologize for my son."

Johanna placed a hand on top of Delia's. "Well then, I must apologize for my daughter. I can't believe she hasn't stopped by yet."

"I know that Dawn isn't here to defend herself but I am sitting right here. Am I allowed to sue for defamation for the both of us?"

"We didn't spend nine months carrying you so we can be disrespected this way." Both Delia and Johanna said together.

Oh Arceus help us all. There are two of them! Ash had messaged Dawn.

Eh?

Your mom and my mom are getting along a little TOO well.

"Stop flirting via text and come help us put away this food. Oh! I also have a cake for Dawn. You can take it to her tomorrow."

"Mom if Dawn sees anything else sweet she is going to puke."

"I think we all are." Johanna agreed. "But no one says no to cake."

"I see where Bri gets her sweet tooth from." Ash replied.

"Ash Ketchum you will bring this cake to my daughter and that's final."

Ash sighed.

I hope you aren't tired of sweet things yet.

What?

It's a surprise. See you tomorrow.

... Ash! You brought my MOM all the way from Sinnoh. Please stop trying to win my affection. You already won.

It's my mom's surprise.

Sweet stuff. Yay!

Alright, I see you both get that from your mom then.

GASP!

If Ash left her on read on purpose, Dawn doesn't need to know.

Another half hour passed and Ash was leaving his childhood home with a full stomach begging for him to not wear a belt until at least the day after tomorrow, at best along with a bag full of said uneaten food that his mom had cooked, cake and other treats for Dawn and Brianna, and at least a dozen of those mini sandwiches with that sinful sauce that was way too heavenly. He placed it into his van, seat belt so nothing would move, went back to kiss his mother on the cheek, Johanna on her hand and then waved from the van.

"I'll come get you bright and early tomorrow." He promised.

Johanna smiled. "You can take your time."

"Yeah! We have a lot to discuss and we don't have all day."

"No definitely not." Ash almost pressed the horn as he banged his head on the wheel. "It's not like you have all week." He mumbled.

"We heard that!" Delia and Johanna replied.

"You two should be hospitalized for research against mothers who shame their children."

"We are delightful!" They replied again.

"Sure you are." He muttered under his breath.

"Ash Ketchum don't make us ground you."

"I am twenty eight years old!"

"GROUNDED!" Delia and Johanna said as they high-fived each other.

Ash simply rolled up his window, locked the doors and started up his van. He bolted into the night faster than anyone could say; Mothers, gotta out run them all.

He didn't want to think what else his two mothers could get up to this week when he wasn't there. It was going to give him a headache.
