Season: I promised one more chapter before I leave on my 'vacation' cough surgery cough and I delivered. Originally I was going to post something else BUT I was listening to some music earlier today when I was on the bus and the opening lyrics reminded me of what I thought Dawn and Ash deserve. So I instantly got to writing this and BAM. Fluff.
If the breakfast in the room scene seems familiar in a later chapter it's because I borrowed it from that chapter that I already have partially written and well... haha.
Please enjoy this chapter in which the summary is: Ash and Dawn sleep the day away together (romantically and family friendly) and when they wake up, you will need a shot of something bitter to take away the sweetness even more so than the six cups of sugary coffee Dawn drank that induced said fluff.
You have been warned.
Chapter inspiration:
Four hugs and a cup of coffee and I barely just woke up. Looking at you, I got reminded, that I had found everything. Your hand in my hand, of everything we escaped. Together, see the sun set~ Calma (Pedro Capó ft Farruko)
See you in September! ^~^

Stupidity Does Not Earn You Heaven
by: Season Of Magic
{~}
The sun's rays was what woke up Dawn. As she rolled to the other side of the bed to escape the bright light, she realized she wasn't alone. Beside her lay a body and that was when she also realized that she felt rather warm for a early spring morning where she should be trying to huddle into her blankets for more warmth.
She tried to move her arm. Trying being the keyword. She peeked over and rather than finding a small body with blue hair like hers, her hand was resting freely and comfortably into the chest of a not-feminine body at all. Dark hair lazily rest all over the pillow, soft breaths, and a arm wrapped rather protectively around her waist.
That explained why she couldn't move so easily. Still did not explain why...
"Oh Arceus!" She uttered. The previous day's event hitting her like a cold bucket, and she could only glance mortified at herself and Ash.
She recalled her fiancé bringing her up for a nap, and the insistence that she wouldn't fall asleep if he didn't stay, pouting very much like a child until they get their wish.
Ash had simply complied, getting into bed with her and promising he wouldn't leave when she fell asleep. And it seemed to be that she didn't plan to let him go either way. At least, her legs wrapped around him was proof enough of that.
Cue higher mortification of the day! Or was it of two days by now?
"Hng..." Ash rolled over as well, or at least attempted to if his confused mutterings proved correct.
Dawn gently untangled her legs, pressing her face deeper into the pillow to hide her blush from him. All that happened though, was that she was pressing against his neck, as apparently she was using him as the pillow.
Ash softly laughed, pressing his face to hers and placing a kiss on her hair. "Morning sleeping beauty. Isn't this a wonderful way to wake up?"
Dawn could only nod her head, words failing her. Ash simply laughed some more as he brought up the blanket around them and then enveloped her even more into his arms.
They fell back to sleep, or attempted to, not really wanting to sleep more but not wanting to get up yet.
Dawn could get used to this indeed.
The next time either of them spoke was over half an hour later when Brianna opened the door to the room and instantly ran and jumped into bed with them.
Ash reluctantly let go of Dawn for a bit only if so to let Brianna wiggle in between them. Then his arm went around both his girls.
Dawn smiled as she poked Brianna's cheek. "Morning munchkin."
"Morning mommy. Morning dad." Brianna said happily and both Dawn and Ash leaned in to kiss her cheek.
"Morning." Ash said, leaning up to press a kiss to Dawn's lips. It was well-received as she happily kissed back. Letting go with a blush when she remembered they had company.
Brianna simply pretended to roll her eyes. "So you two slept the afternoon and night away while us normal people got pizza for dinner as stated. We left you some, don't worry." She recalled the previous day. "May and I came to check up on you. Mommy you wouldn't let go of dad. I honestly don't know how he slept that long either,
he wasn't the one with a sugar crash."
Ash pretended to stare at the pillow, when in reality he was staring at Dawn. "Best sleep I've had in years. Can't believe this domestic bliss that I was missing out on. It was a nice way to wake up, a beauty in my arms." He winked. "I fell in love again."
Brianna watched her mother hide her face under the covers and Ash pull them away. She sighed and wiggled back out the bed.
"Alright I'm going now. Glad to see you're alive and breathing. I'll go tell May."
They both glanced over. "Please don't."
Brianna couldn't help the grin that was on her face as she waved her poketch. "We both already have enough blackmail material to last us the rest of the year." She said giggling as she made her way to the door.
Ash and Dawn made the unanimous decision to just stay in bed longer.
"Can you at least lock the door?" Dawn mumbled.
"Sure." Brianna said as she opened it and pressed the lock behind her. "Like I said, May already has enough evidence of what happened that leaving you alone now won't really do anything other than giving you privacy to smooch." She blew a kiss as the door locked behind her, the laughing going down the hall until there was silence again.
Ash pulled Dawn into his arms, pressing another kiss to her hair, forehead, nose and then finally claiming her lips once more. Dawn melted onto the kiss.
"Shouldn't we go eat something?" She asked when they let go for air.
"In a bit." Ash promised. "Can't a guy just cuddle with his fiancé for a whole day?"
"That's apparently what you did."
Ash smiled brightly. "Just wished she would have invited me to her bed on her own accord rather than a sugar confession." He couldn't help but tease. "But who am I to deny the pretty lady?"
"Ash!" She poked his cheek like she had to Brianna earlier, then rested her hand on his chest. "I apparently didn't know what I was missing out on." She threw back his line to him.
Ash laughed, peppering her face with kisses. "Well, now that you do, what's the verdict? Other than the blush-blush adorable response?"
"Don't know." She said, playing with his hair then bringing her arms to cup his face, then resting them on his neck. "Might have to keep and marry you."
"Oh, is that so?"
"You seem like a very nice candidate."
"Are you sure? I thought you wanted Tracey." He teased.
She simply kissed him to shut him up. Ash's laughter died on her lips.
Domestic bliss indeed.
Dawn had just finished taking a shower, brushing her teeth and putting on fresh set of clothes and was walking back to her room when she noticed a tray on top of her night table.
She raised a eyebrow in confusion as she saw Ash sitting down on one of the two chairs he had apparently placed beside it. He instantly stood up, bringing out one hand in invitation as he pulled her close and with the other placing a flower on her hair.
"Did the missus order room service?" He asked as he brought her over and sat her down on the other chair. He placed a napkin on her leg and took a cup of coffee from the tray passing it over to her.
Dawn took it gratefully and smiled. "The missus did not order room service, but she thanks the mister either way."
He smiled and sat down, grabbing his own cup of coffee. They sipped in silence until Ash asked; "should I have skipped the caffeine?"
Dawn laughed. "As long as it's just one cup I'll be fine. There will be no embarrassing repeat."
"Again, I don't mind the clinging and possessive claiming, but I'd rather you say it when you're not sugared crazy."
"You know what they say..." Dawn replied placing the half drank cup to the tray table and picking up a sandwich instead. "The words said while drunk and a sugar high, come from the deepest truth in your soul."
Ash bit back a laugh and nodded. "I mean it was rather contagious. Couldn't help myself to cuddle when you were pouting so cutely telling me not to go."
Dawn blushed. "In my defense, I barely remember what happened."
Ash did laugh again. "Don't sorry I do enough for the both of us. I'll remind you again tonight. I mean..." he coughed and took his own sandwich.
"The missus gives a open invitation for bed snuggling."
"The mister thanks the missus."
They both smiled brightly, eating their sandwich.
"I mean, it took you LONG ENOUGH!" May said walk in, wagging a finger in the air. "We all know you wanted to sleep together." She coughed. "In a romantic before wedding approved fashion." She sighed. "Thank you for finally doing so. An entire day of it actually!"
Ash glanced over to May. "Shush."
May shook her head. "I will not." She raised her arms again. "If I had to listen to him complain ONE MORE NIGHT I was going to throw him out the house myself. The fact that it isn't my own house is irrelevant here."
Dawn giggled. That's cute."
"And you missy," she shook her head even more. "You had your chance at Christmas and you two spent it wrapping presents and cuddling under the tree. Which yes; adorable," she raised up three fingers. "Yet it's been three months."
Ash and Dawn stared at her as if she was crazy.
"Didn't know you were so invested in my happiness May." Ash said. "To the point that you don't count the amount of times I cuddle or kiss the missus without having the need to hop into bed with her to do so."
"Exactly." Dawn uttered, as she almost choked on the last bit of her sandwich. "Thank you for being so invested."
"You two are hopeless and perfect for each other." May pointed out, walking out.
Ash and Dawn glanced to each other, passing one another a glass of orange juice from the tray.
"Well, she's right about one thing. We are perfect for each other." Ash said as he took the offered glass. "You fit just right in my arms." He sipped his juice in utter happiness.
Dawn nodded and then sputtered mid-sip. "R-right."
Ash raised his glass. "A toast for more domestic bliss to come Mrs Ketchum?"
Dawn raised hers as well and clinked them together. "A toast to the Ketchum household."
Brianna walked in bringing her own cup of juice. "Don't forget about me."
Ash and Dawn brought their glasses to Brianna's. "Ketchums!"
Gary who was passing by shook his head. "That still sounds like ketchup to me and I laugh about it every time. Ketchup family."
Ash, Dawn and Brianna equally glared at him.
"And Oak is any better!?" Ash asked.
"Better than ketchup."
"This is why we aren't friends."
Gary gave a tiny smile and a thumbs up in return as he went to do whatever it was he was doing. He may give Ash a hard time, but he was happy to see that he was happy and getting what he always wanted. A family. For so long it had just been Ash and his mother and since in his case it was just him and his grandfather, he knew the feeling.
"Tracey can you make me the strongest blend of drinks Dawn has in the bar?" He asked Tracey as he began setting up the pool table.
"Sure. What's the occasion?"
Gary simply shrugged. "I feel like celebrating love."
Tracey nodded as he passed him a cup filled with lots of ice and liquor. "Ah. Finally admitting your crush on May?"
Gary almost dropped the cup. "WHAT!?"
Tracey shook his head. "So it wasn't that then?"
"I... no. WHAT!?"
Tracey sighed. This might take a while.
