6. Chapter 6

Moon and sun return chapter 6 in the cradle of the moon

this chapter will cover episodes 1-2 of season 2. With a few of my own twists mixed in

I will also have a way for our heroes to know what is going on in other locations with other characters.

As well as add a few new skills our heroes have.

Callum pov

After the egg hatched, we rested at the moon nexus and then the old elf tried to give us food until the voice in my head said, "don't eat that, I am going to put recipe in your head now and a way to perverse it for later." I then mentally asked the voice "what is it?" she replied to me she is making you eat bugs and think it is better food." I then blinked as my brain was filled with information as the woman said, "how did you see through my magic?" I replied with "give me a pot and a way to boil water and I will make you got food. She then pointed me in the write directions, while I wrote down the recipe and ingredients.

It was on then Rayla came in and I handed her a list of ingredients and said please find these things and I will make us plenty of food for the road. She then saw the list and wonder what I was making but soon agreed to help. It was soon after the older woman took me to her kitchen as Rayla came to me with all the ingredients. I then cooked while asking a few questions about magic and after a few minutes the food was done, and I served a bowl for each person and then saved a few bowls worth of food with the special method. Each person was then amazed by how tasty it was and then Lujanne tried to show me some magic. At the same time, my longer brother was trying to get the baby dragon to fly and having very little luck in doing so.

Rayla pov

After eating the shockingly tasty dish that Callum called Millet ramen, I heard noises and began to check the woods. There I ended up finding an illusion spider and after that came the white furred dog boy that said "that dark mage girl and idiot knight boy are wondering around this forest. They would have caught me if not for my traps and counter magic." I then asked the boy "what's counter magic?" he soon replied "it is a trick that lets me negate any magic that is in the process of being cast. It disrupts magic in the process of forming. It annoyed the hell out of her as she wasted ingredients." I then asked, "can anyone do counter magic?" he replied "no, almost nobody can do it. dark magic has come close but dark mages mostly just prevent casting with silence spells. You would have to understand magic on a few levels. if you'll come to Anima city and have mastered magic enough maybe professor Senku can fully teach you how to do it." I then asked him "where is this city exactly and how do I find this professor Senku." He then replied, "I will be waiting around the border crossing for you and give your party a guided Tour." I will be following your party after they leave the nexus, see you then."

Callum pov

I soon tried to get Lujanne to teach me moon magic, but she soon told me without a primal stone is it is pretty much impossible for humans to do magic. But the voice in my head assured me that "you can do magic, but you need to find a way within yourself. But avoid dark magic. The true key will be speaking my name." I then asked her in my head "what is your name?" I then heard her say "my name is _." but I couldn't hear what she said as she spoke back "you haven't passed all the trials yet and until you do you won't be able to truly here my name. she then said, "after you leave this place you will run into the trials that will unlock many gifts within you."

Rayla pov

After I came out of the woods, I checked on the progress of Ezran and the newly hatched dragon prince to learn he hasn't fully taught him to fly. Then I saw a dejected Callum and he looked pensive and wondering what he had to do. He also looked like he was wondering what was happening in the far-off city of his home.

Callum pov

As Rayla was talking, I had a feeling the court mage was plotting to do something, but I didn't know what he could be doing. After that talked to the moon mage about my drive to learn magic. But she said, "humans can't learn magic due to not being connected to primal sources." She then explained to me primal sources and that beings connected to them just understand magic naturally. Then tried to explain moon magic by producing phantom images. After seeing her do it, I soon pointed out the true one and she looked surprised as the voice in my head said "I can help you see what there isn't and is there but until you grasp it yourself. You truly won't be able to understand the magic." The moon mage then looked at me and said, "you are closer than you think but not there yet." It was after that, I headed in for sleep and wonder when I would have to face these trials.

Rayla pov

It was while patrolling the area, I suddenly felt tired as I remembered the dog boy telling me there was a dark mage girl around and that I was likely affected by her spell and went for a rose and hoped it's thorn would wake me up. Then when I did pass out, I was lucky the rose thorn helped, and the armored boy had enough honor to not kill me on the spot. It was then the armored boy and I engaged in a sword fight as I felt something within me humming. I heard the letter 'z' but nothing else. But then the teamwork between the two nearly brought me down until at the last-minute Callum saved me. by breaking up our fight and then he forced us into a state of peace. But I still didn't fully trust his 'friends.' I also had a feeling that, Callum and the girl named Claudia had a level of attraction that made my heart hurt, in a way that seemed like a hurt I felt before but couldn't pick out when.

I kept wondering what this pain was and then the male voice within me said "it is the pain of a something you won't be able to fully remember yet. But you with how close you were to my name; I am not surprised you felt it." I then asked the voice internally as I came to a bed to sleep in "what do I have to do to fully learn your name and what happens when I speak it." the voice then said "you will gain a power that will be even more that the former dragon king. But to start to awaken the power you must reach the proper emotional state." Then the voice shut up and I let sleep take me.

Callum pov

The next morning, I tried to make my self look more presentable to Claudia as the voice in my head said "don't try to change yourself, being who you are will push you to further growth. I wondered what said voice meant as my brother talked to me. it was after that Claudia cooked us pancakes to try and get us to come back. Then Soren tried to get us to come back with something that sounded like a lie. It was after that Rayla tried to talk to me alone only for Claudia came in with something to reveal. The darker hair girl then tried to ask me how I felt about Rayla only for the voice to hum and not say anything else. While I waited for an answer. I then revealed to her that I brought the primal stone, and she accepted it readily.

While we talked, we met the moon mage elf as she tried to get me into dark magic. But as she did, the voice within me said "this is one of your tests, you have to make a choice." But even with the voice and her telling me not to judge, I turned away from dark magic. I kept wondering if Soren was going to teach our dragon friend to fly. After that we looked over the ruins.

Rayla pov

While watching Ezran and Zym, I could tell he was trying to capture the pair by hurting them. But the older boy was clearly not smart enough to figure it out. it was after that, I confronted Callum about the device Soren made to try to tell him the brother and sister were trying to trap them. But he wouldn't listen to me. then the voice within said "he will trust them until you prove otherwise." It was after that, I went to Lujanne to try and prove the dual had bad intentions. But I knew I had to reveal father / stepfather to the brothers was dead and do it before Claudia could.

Callum pov

It was that night; I took Claudia to the nexus and try to get that much closer to her. I then tried to go in for a kiss, but as I did the voice kept telling me no and before I could do so, Claudia pulled away to tell me my stepfather was dead.

Chapter end

For next chapter, I will have Callum deal with the fallout of learning out the man he knew as a father, while Rayla tries to get the group to their next destination and prove the brother and sister truly have bad intentions.

But first izuku will start to work as a hero while Emilia begins her internship as both prepare to-
