Chapter 29: Cordelia's Rage & Nazuna's Guilt! Revisiting Parmanie Town! Lucy & Sting vs. Miru & Shizue! The Electric & Royal Infiltration From Sabertooth!
Risa's POV
After waking up and recently taking a hot shower to just be wearing my light pink towel, I slowly got off of my bed while starting to not feel tired anymore. I let out a soft yawn while looking through the window for a moment, noticing that Sting and Lector ran by my house to probably go get some breakfast for themselves, and my cherry red eyes glanced down at the photos that were situated on the window's ledge. The photo of Master Sara and I smiling together wasn't turned towards the window, which made me start to look puzzled from how I thought I always kept that picture in its proper position, but I must've been too tired from yesterday's tough fight explaining my trauma to even do that.
I sighed softly while walking towards the picture to reposition the picture frame towards the window, and picking it up for a moment made me start to look at Master Sara's smiling face. This was the day where my friends would hope to avenge her while also helping me fully get past my trauma, as they would probably attack Kyoko with their full strength when they saw her in Parmanie Town, and I would also fight hard to make my hometown become a place where mages of Psychic Magic would no longer fear or act hostile and uncaring towards the mages who used Master Sara's magic.
The fact that Miru and Shizue attacked Rogue and I yesterday to start off that fight had caused me to look worried, however, so I had to wonder if I could even accomplish that dream of making Parmanie Town be a great place in Fiore without getting harmed or captured for the bounty that was reinstated on me. I started to look down at the photo of Master Sara in a frustrated manner, wondering why Kyoko would even claim that I died years ago if she still had the audacity to label me as a criminal after finding out that I was still alive, and I began to clench my fists at one possible reason. Kyoko probably wanted my supposedly dead body to be an example of why Parmanie's citizens shouldn't use the magenta shade of Psychic Magic, and she wanted to keep them in their place while the townspeople wouldn't think to resist someone who wielded one of the powerful rings.
Kyoko's pink ring was the fourth one that Lucy needed in her quest to get her body back from that criminal named Kotomi Takeuchi, but even Lucy's desire to help me avenge someone as kind as Sara made me start to walk out of my room for a moment. I stared at her bedroom door for about ten seconds while looking very protective, not wanting my friend to possibly get harmed with a fatal attack to the stomach like how Master Sara ended up dying, and I did start to think about how Lucy probably had to make her lightning be even stronger for it to possibly damage Kyoko. After all, that evil princess probably became much stronger during those years where I stayed away from Parmanie Town. I couldn't stand the thought of losing another important person in a fight against Parmanie Town's vicious wizards, as well as not wanting my friends to be severely injured again, and an idea began to form in my mind.
"If I go to Parmanie Town by myself, then I could probably weaken those psychic mages enough to where they wouldn't hurt my friends again." I spoke aloud to myself in a calm manner, frowning a bit at how this was possibly the best decision.
I added with a nice smile on my face, thinking more about yesterday, "Plus, having Rogue's magic mixed with mine to activate the magenta shade of Psychic Magic makes this be an easy task. After all, I've worked hard to make my spells possibly be stronger than Master's Sara's attacks."
That prompted me to smile while building up Psychic Magic in the palm of my right hand, only to instantly look shocked to see it be in a normal shade of pink without the magenta color appearing at all. Why was this happening? Did using up most of my magical power in that fight cause me to use up Rogue's strong magic, too? I sighed in a worried manner while thinking that I couldn't just ask him for more of his magic without telling him that I'd be going to Parmanie Town by myself, as Rogue would probably perceive me to be an idiot, and leaving without telling him anything would probably make him dislike me for doing that.
I didn't want Rogue or any of my other friends to hate me, but I especially didn't want Rogue to be mad at me for trying to keep my friends from being harmed. He was always so kind to me while his quietness seemed to compliment my usually upbeat and snarky attitude, and I wouldn't have even been in Sabertooth if I didn't meet Rogue on that day where I also met Sting and Yukino. I just felt like I needed to protect them and Lucy as much as I possibly could, even if I had to take down Kyoko and her army of mages by myself, and I anticipated how that would be a hard task. I walked back into my room, gently closing the door behind me, and I had to at least get ready for this upcoming mission.
I let my pink towel fall to the floor, before going over to my pink bureau that had some clothes in it, and I opened up the bureau to pull out a pink bra. I retrieved some pink panties from the bureau, too, and I put on those clothing. Afterwards, I went over to my closet to pick out a fuchsia pink striped halter top that reached down to my bellybutton while I also chose to wear a light pink skirt that was long. I also decided to wear a hot pink belt that matched my bubblegum pink high-heeled wedges, and going back towards the window prompted me to get my sunglasses that had cherry red frames while also getting my front door's key. After putting them on my head, I opened the door to my room, and I gently closed it again to not wake up Lucy. As I quietly went to the front door to unlock it, I turned around to softly smile at my living room while feeling like I was making the right choice of going to Parmanie by myself. Upon running outside, though, I surprisingly encountered two of my friends.
"Good morning, Risa." Rogue told me in a calm tone with a nice smile on his face, as he watched me lock the door with the pink key that I put in one of my skirt's pocket.
I replied to him and Frosch with a kind smile on my face, as the green Exceed happily stood next to him, "Good morning, Rogue. Good morning, Frosch."
Frosch asked me while smiling happily, "Risa, are you really going back to Parmanie Town again to defeat those mages?"
I explained to Frosch in a calm manner, leaning forward, "Yes, Frosch, and I'll be going by myself now to prevent you or anyone else from getting very injured."
That prompted Rogue to ask me with a stern look on his face, before strictly lecturing me with his eyes narrowed, "What?! Risa, that is a bad idea! I understand that you want to protect us, but taking on Parmanie's mages by yourself isn't the way to help anyone! Even if you do somehow succeed on your own, there's no guarantee that they'd just let you walk out of Parmanie after taking the ring or killing Kyoko. Don't forget that she has a bounty on your head, so killing her and possibly tiring yourself out would make it easy for Miru and Shizue to kill you afterwards. In situations like this one, you'd be better off going by yourself with a team following you from behind."
Upon hearing that last sentence, I looked up to tell Rogue in a calm manner while a smile of realization started to be on my face, "Thanks, Rogue. You just gave me an interesting idea. I'm sorry for thinking I needed to go alone, since you and others probably have a plan in mind."
As I looked into my teammate's red eyes, I could see that he was definitely thinking about a plan for us to get the ring and take down that evil princess. It would be great for us to somehow get into the tower where she resided, since I didn't recall seeing the castle when we were there yesterday, but how could we do that? It wasn't as easy as walking up to Kyoko's tower and claiming that she had visitors, as the place probably had many guards who wielded Psychic Magic, and they probably wouldn't let us in after what had happened yesterday. There had to be some way for me to get into Kyoko's tower without being detected, but what could I do?
My mind started to think back to the evening in Kuchiba Town where I snuck into the amusement park to see what was going on during its hours of being closed, and I started to smile softly at how I could just stealthily enter the tower. I'd have to sneak in there without creating any noise, though, so I would have to wait for whoever was guarding the tower to be distracted. That would probably give me a great opening for getting into the tower, and I would happy to give Kyoko the shocking surprise of how I wasn't dead while my friends would be by my side.
I continued to look at Rogue, who started to slightly smile from how I nodded to show that I understood his words, and that made me start to wonder about how I could help Rogue get inside Kyoko's tower with the others. They would probably be executed by Kyoko for coming along with me, unless Rogue and the others were going to Parmanie Town with someone who was already a princess. Kyoko couldn't brutally kill mages who were associated with a princess, as that would be like asking for war between two towns, but did we even have a princess in a guild? My eyes were filled with curiosity from wondering about that, as this would be a good way for us all to get into the tower without any resistance from the psychic mages, and Rogue got to see me widen my eyes with realization as I remembered that one of my friends had a great celebration for them when they became the princess of Kuchiba Town. In fact, they even fulfilled a fashionable promise to me when we were there.
One hour later... (Narrator POV)
Lucy came out of the house with a happy smile on her face, yawning softly while she was still waking up, and the green-haired girl quickly watched Risa run past her to get back in the house. Risa shut the door for a moment like she had forgotten something, and Lucy simply smiled at her. Lucy felt glad to see that her friend was still in Kogane Town, since not hearing Risa in the house when she woke up was something that made Lucy concerned enough to think that Risa felt emotional enough to go into Parmanie Town by herself to avenge Sara's death, and seeing Risa look like she was waiting for Lucy really made the orange-eyed female quite happy.
She felt happier from seeing Sting, who ran up to the group with Yukino and Lector by his side after they finished eating breakfast and nearby restaurants, and Lucy watched Sting grin at her in a confident manner from how he seemed to be prepared for dealing with any mages who used Psychic Magic again. The light dragon slayer wasn't going to let any of those mages make his body get twisted again, especially when the group had two important goals that had to be accomplished today in Parmanie Town, and he kept on smiling with confidence also being in his eyes.
Lucy gazed into his eyes for a few seconds, liking how Sting was giving her a look of assurance that told her how the group would be able to get the fourth ring without anyone nearly getting killed, and Lucy started to have determination in her eyes from how she agreed with Sting. Both of them may have been feeling very confident, but they weren't going to be arrogant today. Lucy felt Risa cease with hugging her while she looked towards the path that led to the train station, thinking about taking the train to Parmanie Town would probably make her have a battle against Miru again, and Lucy wasn't going to lose against anyone in Parmanie Town.
Even though Risa wanted to fight against Kyoko for killing Sara, Lucy began to think about how she would be glad to fight against Miru Itsuki in a rematch. It wouldn't be a surprise to Lucy if Miru and Shizue were Kyoko's top bounty hunters in X792, since Lucy hadn't seen Nazuna in Parmanie Town on the previous day. Miru and Shizue could probably also sense the magical power of mages who wielded Psychic Magic, as well as other types of magic, so Lucy started to look curious about ideas that her friends came up with for getting to Kyoko's location with the least amount of trouble. Lucy looked at Risa, who suddenly came back out of the house with an orange kimono while she felt confident about stating her idea.
"Here's what we should do, everyone. Lucy was officially given the title of being a princess from when she and I made Shinichi flee from Kuchiba Town, so that probably gave her some notoriety. We should make Lucy wear my kimono from Kuchiba's fashion store and flaunt her title as Kuchiba Town's princess to get you all into Kyoko's tower, but I'll find my own way inside." Risa explained to the group with a determined look on her face, smiling about her idea.
Sting asked her with a serious look on his face, thinking that Risa's plan was risky, "Are you sure that they wouldn't have people keeping watch for us after what happened yesterday, Risa?"
Risa replied to the guild master while becoming somewhat calmer, "Master, they might have guards patrolling Parmanie Town. However, those wizards would probably let you into Kyoko's tower if you're associated with a princess who even dresses like one."
Lucy spoke up to tell Risa with a somewhat stunned facial expression, "Risa, that orange kimono doesn't even blend in with my casual clothes!"
She was referring to how her clothes consisted of a cherry red T-shirt with jeans that were in the candy apple shade of red, and Lucy also wore some flat shoes that were in a crimson shade of red. She didn't exactly look like a princess in that outfit, especially when the princess of Kuchiba Town would probably have to wear a nice dress, and the only other thing that made Lucy be associated with being Kuchiba Town's princess was the fact that she still wore the Sherbet Ring. Lucy managed to make an orange aura surround her hands for a moment, seeing the aura to look more powered up than before, but she was still doubting Risa's plan.
Lucy's dilemma only made Risa point to the ring finger of Lucy's right hand, seeing that the orange Sherbet Ring was still on her finger, and anyone who read the news about Kuchiba Town would've definitely heard about the girl who was the main part of the coronation for the princess. The people of Parmanie Town may have had their own newspaper, but events from other towns did make their way into Parmanie's news for people to talk about what was happening elsewhere in Fiore. In fact, news of Lucy's coronation had to prominent for people to recognize her like how Risa quickly got spotted by Parmanie Town's citizens. Risa started to narrow her eyes at how Miru and Shizue recognized her so easily yesterday, which made her think that the news of Sabertooth mages' achievements in Yamabuki Town did reach to the nearby town of Parmanie.
If that was true, then Risa saw no reason to doubt her plan of wanting Lucy to use her own status with royalty as a way of getting into the tower. After all, it would be very stupid for a town that had a princess to not be aware of other towns having coronations when certain events occurred. Even if there was no one who had seen the news of Lucy officially becoming Kuchiba's princess, the Sherbet Ring and other rings on her finger were probably legendary enough to where they would make Lucy be quite a prominent mage for having three of them. As Lucy and Sting both started to walk towards the train station with Lector by their side, Rogue stood next to Risa while clearing his throat.
"Sting, it would probably be good for all of us if we split up inside the tower. Since Risa thinks she can sneak in by herself, we need to at least keep attention off of anyone who may be inside the tower while that happens." Rogue explained to his friend with a calm facial expression, thinking about how this mission needed them to also distract their enemies.
That prompted Sting to turn around and respond with a nice smile on his face, as he started to think about that, "Well, Lucy and I could go look for the ring. We'd obviously have to deal with people fighting us while we try to find it, but it's better for you and Yukino to guard Risa. If both groups fight people, then that would cause Kyoko to divide her mages to where they can't fully focus on stopping one group."
"That's a good idea, Sting. We could probably be like decoys, if anyone wants to attack us for using magic inside the tower." Lucy told him with a kind smile on her face, as she understood his plan.
Lucy and Sting turned to Risa, who smiled softly at how that did seem to be a better idea than having them all follow her to Kyoko's room in the tower, and the plan was going to be put into action after they got on the train to Parmanie Town. Sting started to look a bit sick from recalling that the group would be taking the train there. Going there on a train would be much better than going through Yamabuki Town to reach the Parmanie Forest that probably had guards lurking around in those pink woods, though. Besides, Lucy smiled nicely while walking next to Sting and she would let him put his head on her lap.
Risa started to follow Lucy and her other friends, which caused Rogue to walk right next to her, and she would be happy to help the black-haired dragon slayer get through the motion sickness that he would experience from riding the train. Risa felt like she really owed Rogue for talking her out of even thinking about going back to her hometown by herself, since the pink-haired girl nearly sent herself off to her own death, and she would be glad to reward him in some way after this. Risa began to look at Rogue's usual attire, thinking that his grey shirt needed to be replaced with a black one, but she soon decided that they could work on Rogue's fashion later.
The fact that he was right next to her made Risa smile a bit, especially since he was so supportive of her idea while thinking it could actually be successful, and Risa started to lightly blush from how Rogue's hand nearly held hers. Their hands gently brushed against each other, causing Risa's cheeks to blush a bit more, and she started to think back to how Cordelia softly whispered the question of Rogue being her boyfriend. Risa placed her hands under her chin while blushing, but she quickly shook her head in a calm manner to make her mind focus on the mission. As Rogue started to curiously look at his friend, Risa wondered if Cordelia would still be making herself have some peace in Parmanie Town.
Meanwhile, in Parmanie Town... (Cordelia's POV)
I walked out to my mailbox in the town of Parmanie while wearing my favorite pink sundress, trying to be peaceful in a town where I always saw several of Kyoko's towers standing over the town to represent her strong authority over this place, and I really hated how she made herself be the reigning queen every single year by defeating weak mages in fights. She may have been caring enough to just make the wealthy and fashionable people thrive even more, but Kyoko cared more for herself like a selfish queen who probably made all the news be about her.
As I could hear several people's footsteps coming down this street, I opened my pink mailbox to see that it was nearly full. I tossed out the newspaper articles that talked about Kyoko's new rules on how certain clothes were at lower prices for residents or how tourists had to pay more for food, but I suddenly noticed that an interesting newspaper article from elsewhere in Fiore fell on the ground. I picked it up to read it, only to be quite stunned at how the news featured Risa Ryusei in a photo that was supposedly taken in Yamabuki Town, and the newspaper was informing me how Risa helped her friends put an end to Kanata's cult while her green-haired friend appeared to be wearing Kanata's yellow ring with two others that were rumored to be sacred treasures. Risa and her friends defeating someone as powerful as Kanata was the reason why none of those zealots had been coming here in the recent days? I wanted to smile at Risa's accomplishment, but reading a section about how Risa's group didn't save the client from dying made me wonder how that person's death impacted her.
That made me start to think back to the day where Risa was crying in the rain when Sara died, crying so loudly with tears streaming down on her face, and seeing another person die could've probably been horrible for her mental state. I tried putting the newspaper article down to read something else about Kuchiba Town's princess having a great coronation on a day that already passed, but seeing that photo of Risa made me tightly clench the paper with my fist. As I reached into my mailbox to just see the other things, pulling out a wanted poster with Risa's face on it only made me look quite angry. The bounty on her head was reinstated, due to the fact that she was alive, and Kyoko claimed on the poster how a fight against Miru and Shizue raised Risa's bounty to 800,000 jewels?
After everything that Risa had been through in the past and now, Kyoko still wanted to make her life miserable? I didn't want Risa or her friends to have to flee from their hometown or feel like Kyoko's psychic mages were hunting them down, especially since it was horrible that Risa already went through that once after seeing her motherly figure die right in front of her, and I loudly closed my mailbox in frustration. That loud sound was followed by someone's soft footsteps coming towards me, and I looked up from the wanted poster to see a certain pink-haired woman who wore some yellow goggles while a piece of paper was in her hands. She also wore a bubblegum pink blazer over the hot pink shirt that matched her light pink skirt, and I took notice of her fuchsia knee-high boots.
Upon seeing her long hair that was light pink with the ahoges on top of her head, I remembered who she was. This woman was walking with seven female psychic wizards behind her, and I noticed how they were so happy to see her like she was a prominent person that represented Parmanie Town. However, recalling Risa's cries in the rain and remembering who chased after Sara on that fateful day compelled me to approach this woman with the pink aura of Psychic Magic engulfing my hands. She soon noticed with me, before smiling like she wanted to say something to me, but my thoughts about Risa crying over Sara's dead body caused me to express my anger towards this woman.
"Nazuna... You... You've got some nerve showing your face around here again!" I sternly shouted to her, before roughly punching her in the face to where she got knocked down.
One of her psychic mages exclaimed while looking at her, as the others started charging up their magic to fight me, "Nazuna-san!"
Nazuna told them with authority in her face, motioning with one hand for them to not attack me, "Don't interfere! I may be an S-Class mage in a guild, as well as Parmanie Town's representative in the Magic Council, but don't attack this woman! I personally know her."
I explained to Nazuna as I looked quite angry, grabbing the woman by the collar of her blazer to start shaking her while I had an important question, "Nazuna. You may not remember or even care, but you ran after Kyoko when she wanted to kill Sara and Risa! I get that you were the one who let Risa escape, but Kyoko still has a bounty on her head! Just imagine if Sara had successfully escaped with Risa, and someone could've stopped Kyoko! You went into the Parmanie Forest with them, so what the hell were you doing when Sara died?!"
I asked Nazuna while breathing heavily, my anger changing into sadness as I thought about Risa must've been hurting from having that bond with Sara severed in such a horrible way, "Why did you just let Sara die, Nazuna?! You're a strong mage who uses Psychic Magic, as people say?! Why did you let a young child like Risa have to see Sara die to where she cried so hard over someone who was so precious to her?! Are you aware that she even had to deal with a bounty on her head to where she probably suffered so much like how she suffered recently in Yamabuki Town?!"
My hands aggressively grabbed Nazuna to make her eyes meet mine, before I began punching her in the face with magical power amplifying the force of my punches, and thinking about Risa suffering so much caused many tears to fall from my eyes. The moment that they hit Nazuna's face was when she widened her eyes in shock, almost like the tears were hurting her much more than my news about Risa was hurting her, but all that I could do was repeatedly punch Nazuna in the face. I breathed heavily while striking her in the face with my fists, wanting her to feel my pain.
Nazuna merely frowned in frustration while trying to look away at the ground, almost like she didn't want to face me, and I continued to hit her for how she could've prevented Risa from suffering so much. Nazuna was a powerful mage, since Kyoko chose her as one of her top assistants back then, so she could've easily saved Sara with a strong healing spell to keep her alive. However, Risa had told me back then that Nazuna left with Kyoko. Nazuna didn't even try to comfort a young child who had to see Sara die, and Risa was probably still mentally scarred by that.
I made Nazuna get on her feet, before harshly striking her in the stomach with more punches, and I felt angry enough to create the Esper Ball spell in my right hand. I felt like striking her in the chest with it, as that would ensure Nazuna couldn't work under Kyoko while dying from a painful blast that would harm her body, but I soon decided to cancel out my own spell. As the Esper Ball vanished, I noticed how Nazuna didn't even try to fight back. Her light pink eyes seemed full of guilt while she looked at the ground with a shocked and guilty facial expression, seeing how Risa's wanted poster fell from my hand, and Nazuna was probably letting me vent all my anger out on her.
"Nazuna, are you not going to say anything?! Did you choose your job over fully doing what was right?!" I asked her with tears streaming down her face, not wanting her to even think of hunting Risa down.
That prompted Nazuna to explain to me with a guilty look on her face, "I... I'm very sorry, Cordelia. I... should've done more back then, instead of caring only about not getting myself killed. You truly did a lot more for Risa, especially with your position as a retired commanding officer who temporarily served under the previous princess. I heard about yesterday's fight when Kyoko contacted the Magic Council, as well as seeing the article featuring Risa alongside that heroic green-haired mage in Yamabuki Town, but I didn't give Kyoko the order to reinstate Risa's bounty or raise it at all."
I asked Nazuna in a stern manner, shocked from hearing her words, "Kyoko reinstated a bounty on Risa without getting your permission? Isn't that a direct violation the rules for town leaders who also technically hold positions of being guild masters?"
Nazuna replied calmly, as she got back up on her feet, "Yeah, and that's why I'm glad that I spent those years from X784 to X791 working quite hard to be a member of the Magic Council who could reasonably give out justice against Parmanie Town's mages who choose to commit any crimes. Cordelia, you're feeling angry and I've had guilt for years about letting Risa be so alone. You know, it wouldn't be bad for you and me to confront Kyoko together. If we get hurt, the let's wait for someone to show up."
Upon hearing that Nazuna was a member of the Magic Council who wanted me to help her take down Kyoko, I could only extend my left hand to shake her right hand. Nazuna started to look at me in a somewhat calmer manner, before turning around to presumably take the fastest route to Kyoko's tower, and I began to follow her. I'd be glad to go help her take down the woman who killed someone as kind as Sara Hoshiakari, and I didn't care if my Psychic Magic wasn't at the highest level from how I didn't frequently use it.
My fists were clenched tightly while I felt tired of being worried about Kyoko's bounty hunters who punished anyone that chose not to follow her rules, and the princess definitely needed to be dethroned. Kyoko was not going to rule over Parmanie by creating a town where only wealthy and obedient people thrived, as she was no better than that evil priestess in Yamabuki, and my eyes were narrowed from thinking about how this town didn't have to be a place where people like Risa suffered after being orphaned. I would gladly make Parmanie Town be a better place, and even hitting Kyoko one time could at least slightly damage her before someone else showed up.
As I walked to Kyoko's tower with Nazuna's psychic mages behind us to back us up, looking around at all the towers and walkways that this town now had only made me think about how Parmanie Town was rebuilt after Kyoko set fire to it. She didn't have to set fire to people's houses or make her psychic mages attack anyone who was trying to escape, and the fact that she wanted to be thorough with making sure that no one else could use Sara's magic was even worse. Even the former princess wasn't horrible like her, and I'd never forget how that fateful day was where I had to personally carry on her will after burying Sara.
-Cordelia's Flashback- (Narrator POV)
The first few moments after she buried Sara were where Cordelia ran out of the princess' castle with a horrified facial expression at what she was witnessing. Pink flames of Psychic Magic were burning through several houses in Parmanie Town, the roofs being set ablaze to where the strong flames made houses start to collapse with parents or kids still trapped in those burning buildings, and Cordelia was shocked to also see people being dead on the pink streets from how they were trampled by others who wanted to leave Parmanie Town by train. In addition to that, there were dead individuals on the streets from being struck by Kyoko's powerful beams of Psychic Magic while other people were dying from how psychic wizards attacked them.
Cordelia even got to see how one of Kyoko's beams created a large crater that left children wounded on the ground, which made tears well up in her eyes at how she had to see them dying while Kyoko's attack left them heavily bruised, and the fact that those kids were heavily bleeding meant that Cordelia couldn't just focus on healing them one by one with her magic. In fact, seeing one of them raise their heads while weakly stretching out their arms to crawl in a pained manner was something that made Cordelia deeply feel pain in her heart.
She felt enough emotion to activate the spell known as Soul Entry Psi, which required Cordelia to create a ring with her index fingers and her thumbs. She aimed it at a young boy who was now running away from one of Kyoko's psychic wizards who had the Esper Ball spell in their hand, and making a fuchsia pink aura engulf her hands allowed Cordelia to fire that harmless aura of energy straight at the child. It gently hit the boy to feel like a very slight poke to the chest, and Cordelia soon saw his memories of people dying right in front of him.
As Cordelia quickly let the boy's two hours of memories be in her mind, her body shuddered in a saddened manner while her tears fell to the ground. Seeing that boy be quite frightened made Cordelia turn to look at other people who were trying to run for their lives or begging Kyoko's subordinates to not kill them, and there were even people who were viciously fighting back with their own Psychic Magic to levitate Kyoko's subordinates high into the air for them to be seriously injured when they harshly crashed into the ground. Upon seeing all these people die while some of them even cried over how Parmanie Town was burning to the ground, Cordelia tightly clenched her fists. She began to think about her own memories of Risa crying over Sara's dead body, disliking how one kind person was dead while a young child saw a death occur firsthand, and Cordelia couldn't handle seeing so many people being in emotional pain or physical pain. In fact, she narrowed her eyes while feeling like she had to make this evening of madness come to an end.
"THAT'S QUITE ENOUGH OF THIS NONSENSE!" Cordelia yelled in a stern manner, shouting loudly with so much power and authority in her voice to where everyone stopped moving and dispelled their own spells.
Nazuna asked with a curious facial expression on her face, as she was walking towards the street near the train station, "Who was that? Miss Cordelia?"
One of the psychics asked in a curious tone, as she stopped chasing a little girl to look towards the main street, "Miss Cordelia?"
Cordelia exclaimed to everyone with a stern look on her face, tears streaming down her face, "Stop all this fighting! If you hate users of that magenta-colored Psychic Magic, then just know that Sara Hoshiakari is dead! You've already accomplished Kyoko's goal, you mages! If we're all citizens of Parmanie Town, then there's no reason to keep fighting each other! There's no reason to keep burning Parmanie like this! Children are dying, and you wizards are even fighting people who don't want to be forced to fight back! In fact, we're making ourselves look like inhumane idiots by harming each other! I... I can't stand seeing this happen any longer!"
As Cordelia looked down at the ground and cried, some of the wizards who wielded Psychic Magic began to look very ashamed of their actions. Some of them even pulled back their fists that would've struck some people, and there were mages who even began to softly cry from looking at all the destruction that occurred in the town. One of the mages even stretched out her arms while crying to block her teammates from hurting people who cowered behind her, and the people of Parmanie Town were definitely not emotionless about the horrors that they created in their own town.
One of the wizards even started trying to a heal a young child who he attacked with his Psychic Magic, not wanting to have so much guilt over ending a kid's life, and other people simply looked around to start searching for their friends. Even though those mages were following Kyoko's orders, the town's burning buildings areas of rubble made them start to wonder if their friends were even okay. Cordelia watched people start to run through Parmanie Town in a concerned manner while others ceased with fighting, and her words definitely got through to most of the people like a princess who spoke wise words to her followers.
There were other people who seemed to not care, however, but those mages who were remembering how Cordelia formerly served under the previous princess began to feel feel like she gave them a direct order to not fight anyone anymore. Those mages simply sighed while falling to their knees, essentially surrendering to the children and other citizens who they had been trying to attack, and the people who no longer wished to fight were wondering about what to do next. Even though some of them watched Kyoko walk towards Cordelia with an extremely angry facial expression for defying her thorough way of punishing criminals, they shifted their eyes to Cordelia for more orders.
"If there are any of you who don't want to fight, then you are hereby dismissed from this carnage! There is no more reason to hurt the lives of your fellow citizens, your fellow mages, and don't forget that some of these people are even your friends! You are psychic mages, so find the wisdom and the will to do what's morally right for everyone instead of just doing what Kyoko wants!" Cordelia fiercely shouted to her fellow mages of Parmanie Town, ignoring how Kyoko walked towards her while being very enraged.
Kyoko furiously asked Cordelia with a disgusted facial expression, making a cerise pink aura heavily engulf her hands, "Who the hell do you think you are to be deciding what orders must be given?! Do I also have to kill an insignificant pest like you, since you dare to stand in my way of thoroughly making other criminals such as Sara be punished for their crimes?!"
Nazuna calmly told Kyoko while walking up to her with a serious look on her face, noticing Cordelia's tears, "Princess Kyoko, that won't be necessary. Wasting your strength by fighting Miss Cordelia would be pointless, since Sara is now dead, and Risa Ryusei somehow escaped from this town. Since neither one is here anymore to fight us, we're just eliminating innocent people at this point. Even the strongest mage of royalty must know when to stop things like this, princess."
Those words prompted Kyoko to simply tell Cordelia in a threatening tone, the aura around her hands starting to disappear, "Your life will be spared for now, Cordelia, but you'll be dead if you ever do anything that oversteps my boundaries on authority again."
Cordelia merely nodded in an understanding manner at Kyoko's words, before allowing the vicious princess to walk right past her without either person attacking the other, and the crying woman merely started to look at Nazuna with some shock in her eyes while she still cried. The news of Risa escaping from this town was quite a surprise, as Cordelia did instruct her to run home as fast as she could, and that made her start to wonder if Kyoko set fire to Sara's house on purpose. If so, then Risa must've been in tremendous emotional pain from now losing so much that pertained her mother and mentor.
Cordelia watched Nazuna's eyes start to be filled with a feeling that seemed like guilt, almost as if she had been very close to the place where Sara died, and Cordelia did recall seeing Sara run after Kyoko. She wanted to ask Nazuna if she failed to even slightly heal Sara's wounds, but the tears falling from Cordelia's face in her extremely emotional state made Nazuna start to frown with a guilty facial expression. She didn't even want to say a single word to Cordelia, unable to even look at her, and being so quiet after claiming that Sara was dead really told Cordelia how Nazuna didn't do everything in her power to not make this be such a tragic situation.
That only made Cordelia unable to even look at Nazuna or tell her to raise her head, as she was very distraught at Sara's death while she couldn't even imagine the amount of pain that Risa must be feeling right now, and she could only walk away from Nazuna. Cordelia couldn't handle the thought of hearing how Nazuna possibly showed loyalty to Kyoko by letting Sara die in front of Risa, and Cordelia would've definitely tried to help a young child like Risa by possibly saving Sara if she had replaced Nazuna in that situation. Both women felt the intense amount of tragedy and guilt in this situation, as Cordelia wished that she was stronger to help Sara with that intense fight against Kyoko in the forest, and Nazuna looked up to see Kyoko walking towards the castle while she couldn't shake off her guilt of letting Risa suffer. Cordelia wondered if she could ever do anything to help Risa later on in life, and the thought of not being able to help Risa meant that she'd have to wait and hope for someone to eventually come along to be the powerful hero who would save Parmanie Town from experiencing anymore tragedies.
-(Flashback ends.)-
Four hours later, in Parmanie Town...
It seemed like Cordelia wasn't wrong to have hope, as Lucy and her friends were now in Parmanie Town while they walked all the way to Sara's house. Lucy felt like it was appropriate to help Sting walk all the way over there, as she wait for him to recover from his motion sickness, and Risa also went over there with Rogue's arm draped over her shoulders. She was glad to help him go over to the pink rock, letting Rogue calmly sit on it, and Risa also smiled at Frosch in a manner that told him to not be worried. Risa even fired her thin pink healing beams from her hands to help Sting and Rogue recover at faster rates than normal, and she proceeded to run towards Kyoko's tower.
Yukino watched Risa run away to another part of the town while the Celestial Spirit Wizard had a somewhat worried look in her eyes, hoping that Risa wouldn't get into trouble, and she turned her attention to Lucy. Yukino watched Lucy put on the orange kimono over her other clothes, only exposing her shoes, and she got to see Lucy have determination in her orange eyes. Lucy looked quite serious at how she was going to help Risa take down Kyoko and her army of mages who had psychic power, and she would be sure to help her friends defeat every single one of those mages.
Lucy started to look at Sting, who had a pink aura engulfing his body while he was recovering enough energy to where he could stand up, and Lucy maintained her serious face. That only made Sting narrow his eyes while the aura around his body started to fade away, and he glanced over at Rogue to see the shadow dragon slayer quickly recovering his strength. Rogue got off of the rock to go stand on the right side of Lucy, who had Sting on her left side, and Yukino simply stood to the left of the light dragon slayer. As the Sabertooth mages stood together, Lucy and her friends turned to stare at the burnt down wreckage that used to be Sara's house.
As they looked at the remaining rubble that Kyoko kept in Parmanie Town to remind everyone of Sara's death, Lucy gently closed her eyes for a moment. She thought about how Risa spoke of Sara being an amazing mage who was so awesome to where she'd always protect those who mattered to her while she had been so proficient with her magenta shade of Psychic Magic, and Lucy simply went on to the property for a moment. She moved some rubble aside to place her hand in the area of the ground where Risa claimed that the living room and basement used to be, before making a yellow aura surround her left hand, and Lucy fiercely punched that area of the ground to just make a powerful crack appear. If the royals wanted to cover up the magenta magic and make people be left in the dark about it, then Lucy would be more than happy to make Sara's magic see the light of day again to defy the royals who hated it while also possibly hating Sara out of jealousy. With that little task now done, Lucy went back to stand in between Sting and Rogue with Yukino beside them. All that was left for the group now was for Lucy to give a simple command like a princess, and her eyes displayed a sense of unyielding determination with ambition mixed in.
"Let's go." Lucy calmly told the group while maintaining her serious facial expression, taking the first steps away from the house.
Yukino and the two dragon slayers responded at the same time with their eyes narrowed, all of them looking determined to win, "Yes, Princess Lucy!"
One of Parmanie Town's citizens calmly asked aloud, as people who heard Lucy's loud punch began to see the group walk to the tower in unison, "Who are they?"
Lucy and her friends simply said nothing while they walked down the street, but Lucy's green hair and her orange kimono made some people start to look amazed at how the princess of Kuchiba Town was now here with her followers. They simply watched Lucy go down the street with her teammates, only seeing Lucy give them a faint smile for a few seconds, and the people who had heard about yesterday's incident began to interpret that smile as Lucy simply finishing the fight from yesterday. Those who heard the news of her making Kuchiba be a great town again could only smile back, as Lucy's smile meant that she was going to take care of a problem that was wrongfully plaguing the poor individuals in Parmanie Town.
As the group quickly walked to go around a corner that took them down a different street, their seriousness and magical power could faintly be sensed by some nearby mages. Those wizards didn't even bother attacking them, as Lucy's fierceness and clenched fists with the yellow aura faintly engulfing them made those psychic citizens seem quite intimidated. Some of them were even frightened that Kuchiba's princess was here with an expression on her face that started to seem quite fierce, which made them wonder if Kyoko had done something awful to her for another princess to be in this town.
There were some wizards on this street who aspired to be part of Parmanie's royalty, however, and they were amazed to see Lucy here. The fact that the heroic princess walked down this street with mages by her side like a powerful woman with immense authority even made some of the wizards recall how they thought that Princess Lucy Heartfilia was someone who they could aspire to be like, as she had the courage to take down a seemingly elite guild master while they were too scared to ever confront Kyoko. Lucy would be glad to confront Kyoko or deal with her subordinates, as the group of Sabertooth did have to assist an important friend who was more than just a mage who wielded Psychic Magic.
"I'm an extremely powerful and prominent mage who will be glad to contact my four-thousand friends to fight you, since you think I'm actually a wizard in a guild!" Yukino silently recalled, as she thought about the first day where Risa was snarky and happy to become a Sabertooth mage.
"You should've identified yourself first, since this is my first time facing one of you unfashionable and overly religious freaks! You're going down right now, you evil zealot!" Rogue quietly remembered, as he thought about Risa's first intense mission where she was bold enough to want to fight one of Kanata's evil cult members.
"Master, I'm back! I've got the jacket that didn't even cost me a single jewel, and that woman firing the leaves told me how she believed it was totally for me after my attack beat down six wizards at once! When I went over to them and nicely just asked where the clothing store could be found, that hostile lady groaned and only gave me three minutes to be in the remaining parts of her store with everything free. Patience is definitely her worst quality." Sting recalled in his mind, thinking back to the day where Risa was happy to get new clothes after winning her very first battle where she managed to win with only using her very first attack.
"I'm Risa Ryusei, and my guild master's handling a job in the forest! If you see him, please tell him I'll be there soon!" Lucy remembered, letting her mind go back to that memory of when she first met Risa while thinking about how Risa now had to wait for her friends to be at Kyoko's tower soon.
The four mages continued to walk down the street to find Kyoko's tower, and they soon saw a distant tower that appeared to be in the cerise shade of pink while a bubblegum pink walkway above the street connected it to another tower that had walkways at different levels for other towers to be reached. As Lucy and her friends kept their eyes focused on the seven-story tower that appeared to be replacing the castle that was in front of an old-looking drawbridge, they took notice of how Risa was now quietly climbing up to a window after presumably using the Stellar Psi spell to levitate herself up to a high part of the tower. Upon seeing Risa easily open the circular and bubblegum pink window without making any noise, Lucy wondered why a group of people who were in front of the tower's door wouldn't even be focused on looking up at the tower right now.
Those people were gathered in front of the tower to see parts of the roof slightly breaking apart, the top of the tower being damaged as if a fight occurred earlier inside of that place, and the mages who stood right in front of the tower weren't allowed to go inside. They were denied entry because of Cordelia and Nazuna, who sat in front of the doors while they were heavily bruised with some of their wounds even bleeding. Lucy hoped that those two women would let her inside, especially since it seemed that even Nazuna couldn't kill Kyoko.
Nazuna merely smirked up at some psychics who wanted her to them go inside, since they wanted to get payback on Kyoko for harming a member of the Magic Council, but she felt that it had been the right choice to make them wait outside. After all, the psychic wizards who admired Nazuna were able to restrict citizens who stood behind them while wondering if Kyoko was harming one of their friends. When those citizens saw that Cordelia was bleeding and wounded while grinning with her eyes halfway open, they got past their feelings of shock to ask a simple question.
"Did Kyoko hurt you so badly, Cordelia? What were you thinking by trying to fight her without all of us there to help someone as nice as you?" A concerned woman with pink hair asked in a concerned manner.
Cordelia responded calmly, as she folded her arms, "Nazuna and I fought her, but I'd like to think the battle wasn't completely one-sided for us to deal with that loss. Sorry, but we're not letting you through these doors. In fact, our defeat means that we're now waiting for certain people to arrive."
"Certain people?" One of the psychic mages asked with a puzzled look on her face, before people's footsteps could be heard coming towards the group.
Nazuna sternly instructed the mages who wielded psychic power, as she calmly stared at the sight of the four mages coming, "Move aside, you subordinates who use Psychic Magic. Those people are now here, and you better try and foresee their victory. If they can't take down Kyoko, then there's no hope for anyone saving this town from an evil princess like Kyoko. If you truly care for this town and its history, then look at those mages and have their faces memorized in your minds."
She pointed straight at Lucy, causing the crowd to slowly turn around, and more people began to recognize Lucy. Some of them were simply more people who recognized her as Kuchiba Town's princess while others recalled seeing her, Sting, and Yukino as tourists who were having fun in Parmanie Town yesterday. The citizens watched Lucy gently display the back of her right palm to them, allowing the people of Parmanie to see her three legendary rings, and older people such as Cordelia smiled in a confident manner from hearing about those treasured rings.
Some of the psychic mages started to whisper with the townspeople about how Kanata from Yamabuki Town had a ring that looked exactly like Lucy's, which made them quickly feel shocked from their belief that Lucy was even strong enough to beat that priestess, and a princess with that level of strength would definitely give Kyoko a tough time during a fight. The psychic mages who were women continued to obey Nazuna's order of memorizing the mages' faces, almost like she wanted the images of their simultaneous walking and serious faces to be unforgettable images.
None of Parmanie Town's citizens would forget the Sabertooth mages, especially since they all looked so strong with nothing getting in the way of their determination to win, and Cordelia continued to smile while seeing Rogue be part of the group. The fact that he was here made Cordelia start to think that Risa sneaked in here earlier, and she looked up at the sky for a moment to possibly give silent thanks to Sara for raising Risa to be great enough to be friends with some prominent people. Upon seeing Lucy's group reach the bubblegum pink front doors, Cordelia and Nazuna moved aside. Everyone thought that Lucy would simply open the doors for her friends, but having more thoughts about good memories with Risa made Lucy have a much better.
After making Lightning Magic engulf her fists to obliterate the doors with a single punch that made them be destroyed from the average-sized blast, Lucy sternly asked some female mages who were standing in front of a door in the tower's foyer, "Which one of you psychic jerks is Kyoko Kamizuru? You know, the one who probably foresaw that she'll get her butt kicked today?"
That prompted the three users of Psychic Magic to be quite shocked, before the three women with their hair in different shades of pink simply pointed over to a staircase that spiraled upward, and Lucy's strength made those wizards waste no time with running out of the building. Upon noticing the hot pink foyer with a light pink staircase on the left that led upwards while having an elegant-looking spiraling stair rail in the normal shade of pink, Rogue and Yukino went up that staircase. Sting was about to follow them, but the sound of Lucy making her feet gently tap the steps of a spiraling fuchsia staircase that went downward with a bubblegum pink railing had caught his attention.
Sting went over to that staircase with Lucy, both of them starting to look curious about what was at the bottom of the stairs, and the light dragon slayer began to walk down the stairs while thinking that a lower floor was a great place for the fourth ring to be stashed away. After all, Sting and Lucy were now going down into an area that was below the first floor of Kyoko's tower. Therefore, there had to be something valuable down here for them to find. Lucy even began to smile a bit from how it seemed logical for treasure to buried down here, but getting to it wouldn't be easy.
Lucy and Sting still kept their guard up while slowly walking down the stairs, only noticing the yellow orbs of light that were hung on a wall that was to the left of Lucy. The light helped the two Sabertooth mages notice that there were shadows slowly coming up the walls from a lower part of the staircase, and those shadows created silhouettes that probably belonged to two people who had to guard this area of the tower. Since there were people coming up the stairs, Lucy built up magical power to where a yellow aura surrounded her body.
She was ready to fight them while Sting looked just as ready, and standing directly in their path of going back upstairs allowed the mages from Sabertooth to see someone familiar opponents. Miru Itsuki and Shizue Momoiro were quite shocked to see Lucy and Sting back in Parmanie Town so soon, especially in the tower where the princess who doubled as a queen resided, and Miru began to smirk in an arrogant manner with confidence in her rosewood pink eyes. She began to fold her arms while taking another step up the stairs while also remained by her side to grin in a vicious manner, and Miru felt a bit curious to start a somewhat rude conversation before fighting.
"Did you two pathetic pests come back to get killed by us, or are you seriously thinking that you can take Parmanie Town's treasures from its mages so easily when we're tasked with guarding them? Don't you know that I hate trashy losers such as you?" Miru asked Lucy and Sting in an overconfident manner, before using a finger to lower her left eyelid while sticking out her tongue.
Lucy replied in a stern tone, thinking about how Miru started this situation by bothering Risa yesterday, "We won't be the losers in this fight, Miru. We're going to win today, and get the pink ring from this tower."
Shizue told Lucy with a cocky smirk on her face, trying to resist the urge to laugh at Lucy's tone of voice, "You're so sure that you'll win, lightning mage, but you nearly died because of us in our previous fight. Besides, you seem to be wanting payback on us for a fight where you intervened and had to later be saved by Risa."
"That's right. We did intervene in that fight, but Risa won't need to save us this time. In fact, Shizue, I'm perfectly prepared to take you down." Sting explained to Shizue in a calm manner, before firing his White Dragon's Roar spell from his mouth.
Sting fired the beam of white light from his mouth, only for Shizue to quickly jump upward, and the white blast that occurred gave Sting the opportunity to enhance his own power with the White Drive spell. As a white aura surrounded Sting's body, he soon saw Shizue activate her second attack that was known as Psychic Zen Bursts. She shot out eight bullet-shaped blasts of psychic energy from her mouth, four of them landing behind Sting and Lucy to create fuchsia pink blasts, and the other four were directly aimed at Lucy.
She managed to evade the attacks by applying Lightning Magic to her feet, though, and the yellow aura around Lucy's feet allowed her to run quite fast with Sting by her side. Lucy activated the Lightning Voltage spell, which made her shoot out a yellow orb from her right hand, and she aimed the spell at Miru. The woman with short pink hair in a bob style with soft curls merely scoffed at the spell, before shooting out the Psychic Spatial Twist spell from her right hand, and she watched her hot pink orb collide with Lucy's spell. The yellow electric blast began to get twisted and bent in shocking ways, before Lucy hit Miru's electrified orb with the Lightning Voltage spell again to create a more powerful blast, and that second orb even restored the first blast to its original state.
Lucy watched her spells explode, even seeing Miru's attack be damaged enough to burst in a hot pink blast, and that prompted Lucy to activate her second spell known as Thunderbolt Arrow. Lucy stretched out her left hand to see a yellow bow with five arrows quickly appear in the palm of that hand, and the first moments of Miru being visible through the smoke prompted Lucy to fire four of her arrows down at the antagonist. She smiled in a confident manner, thinking that those sneaky attacks would work, but Miru simply giggled while appearing to take some steps back.
"You can try to strike me with your electric attacks, but my mind is much faster." Miru told Lucy with a taunting smirk on her face, as a bubblegum pink aura surrounded her body.
Lucy thought to herself with a worried facial expression, since she didn't see this particular spell, "What is she going to do?"
"Psychic Future Flare!" Miru viciously shouted, as she jumped quite high into the air while firing a bubblegum pink beam up towards the ceiling.
Miru's spiraling beam nearly touched the ceiling, but it quickly exploded to leave behind a high amount of flames that descended towards the ground. Miru narrowed her eyes while using her psychic abilities to manipulate some flames into going towards Lucy, making them even slide across the railings of the stairs to make them have pink fire crackling on them, and Miru watched Lucy try to get out of the way of several flames that exploded. Lucy even fired her last arrow at the flame for a yellow blast to occur in midair, and the force of the attack sent Lucy flying quite high into the air.
She groaned in frustration from how Miru used her psychic abilities to send ten flames up at her, and Lucy definitely had to think quickly. She activated the spell known as Electro Shield, which was Lucy's third spell of Lightning Magic, and yellow beams of electric energy began to be emanated from both of her hands. Raising both of her hands upward caused a tall and wide shield of yellow electricity to rise up high from the ground. Lucy's shield was bordered on both sides by two gold pillars while the center of the shield featured a gold emblem that was in the shape of a lightning bolt, and it rose quite high to even serve as a barrier that was under her like a platform.
When Miru's flames struck the shield, they quickly bounced off with a high level of electricity surrounding them. They went back towards Miru, who made the flames strike each other to create a fiery explosion in midair while the electricity in the air didn't bother her whatsoever. She watched Lucy fall down to the ground while her yellow ring began to absorb the electricity in the air, and the aura around her body started to grow in size. Upon seeing Lucy land on her feet to be standing at least twenty inches away from her, Miru placed her hands on her own head to make more Psychic Magic be in her mind. She started to foresee Lucy's thoughts of simply running towards her to throw electrified punches immediately after using the Sacred Discharge spell, and Miru smirked evilly from seeing that vision happen in reality. With Lightning Magic still surrounding her feet, Lucy ran straight towards Miru at high speeds. She watched her foe's eyes glow bubblegum pink, prompting Lucy to get herself ready to use the Sacred Discharge spell to possibly counter Miru's attacks in a close-range fight, but the moment she got quite close to Miru was when Lucy suddenly disappeared quickly at extremely high speeds. This definitely surprised, Miru, as her prediction was now wrong.
"Fourth spell of Lightning Magic, I call upon thee! Sacred Discharge!" Lucy shouted fiercely from behind Miru, as a thin yellow beam of lightning went up through the ceiling to pierce through a part of the tower while making the sky be visible.
Miru turned around to ask Lucy in a stunned manner, as Shizue looked just as surprised, "How the hell did you get past what I clearly foresaw?! You're... You're not using Psychic Magic in some secret way, are you?!"
Lucy responded with fierceness in her eyes, looking determined to beat Miru while a much larger beam of lightning came down on Lucy's body, "Miru, I don't have to be psychic to think about how to defeat you! In fact, I've already found the answer to that!"
"What?!" Miru asked in a surprised manner while firing her attack at Lucy, only to suddenly see her quickly disappear in a fast lightning flash once again.
Miru watched her hand carelessly fire the beam that was in different shades of pink while Miru's attack was very bright, and she closed her eyes for three seconds to avoid her spell possibly destroying the stairs. When she quickly opened her eyes, they alternated between being fuchsia pink and regular pink while the psychic power that Miru built up in her mind had been added to the spell to increase its strength. Miru's beam ended up hitting the wall, creating fuchsia pink and rosewood pink explosions that were quite large, and the spell's effect had the added effect of pushing psychic pressure against the wall. Miru aimed her hand at the wall to redirect the pressure at the stairs with her psychic abilities, but that proved to be a mistake.
The moment that Miru seemed distracted was the perfect chance for Lucy to hit her in the face six times with punches that were electrified, and the psychic mage soon felt electricity making her entire body get electrocuted. A yellow aura started to surround Miru's body while six yellow blasts of Lightning Magic occurred on the staircase, and each blast was average-sized. This spell had the aftereffect of electrifying anything that was near the target, which prompted the flaming railings to soon have the appearance of being covered in yellow fire with electricity rapidly flowing around them, and Lucy was about to pick up some of the flames.
Before she could do that, though, Shizue activated the spell called Mind's Malice. She fired a bubblegum pink beam from her mouth, startling Lucy and Sting from how Shizue made it be aimed towards the stairs, and the larger beam split into four smaller beams while Shizue moved her left hand upward to make the beams spring upward. They quickly came down to nearly strike Lucy, only to be thrown off-course when Sting hit Shizue quickly moved to hit in the face with punches that were infused with his white light, and moving her hand down and up repeatedly during those punches made the beams be confused. They eventually struck a part of the staircase, creating powerful pink blasts that were in a fuchsia color, and the force of the large blasts sent some flames down to burn the lower railings of the spiral staircase. Upon seeing the railings also crackle with electricity, Lucy started to have an idea with a scheming look forming on her face.
"Yeah... That might work." Lucy thought to herself with her lips forming a smile of cleverness, as she proceeded to run down the stairs.
Shizue shouted to Lucy while looking frustrated, foreseeing Lucy getting herself close to the ring, "I won't let you do whatever you want! Psi Gravity, crush that electric idiot down into the ground!"
Lucy turned around to exclaim in a stunned manner, "What?!"
Sting told Shizue with a fierce facial expression, as he tried to punch her in the face, "I won't let you do whatever you want, either!"
He attempted to punch Shizue in the face, only to see her aggressively grab his fist with her right hand, and Sting watched Shizue evilly smirk at him while creating a bubblegum pink aura of gravity in her right hand while Shizue made her fuchsia pink eyes glow light pink. She aimed that hand down at Lucy while pushing her hand forwrd, causing her Psychic Magic to quickly reach Lucy and slow down the fast-moving mage's movements, and Shizue put more power into her spell for the gravity around Lucy's body to become more intense. Lucy felt herself be heavily pushed down to the ground, unable to even lift a finger, and she screamed in pain from the high amount of pressure that Shizue forced down on to her.
Lucy could only groan in frustration from seeing Miru apply a hot pink aura of Psychic Magic to her feet, which made her move faster while electricity still crackled around her body, and seeing the hot pink aura grow larger meant that Miru was also going increase the power of any attacks involving kicks. Miru quickly reached Lucy to aggressively kick her left side, causing Lucy to cough up a bit of blood, and the force of Miru's kick sent Lucy flying high into the air. Sting tried running towards her in a concerned manner, but Shizue tightened her grip on his fist while having enough strength to throw the light dragon slayer towards Lucy with just one hand.
Sting and Lucy ended up colliding with each other, and Shizue proceeded to use the spell known as Psychotic Fuchsia Warp. She stretched out both of her arms to shoot out three light pink rings from both of her hands, before making the aura of Psychic Magic in her right hand go towards the six rings, and the fact that the rings grew larger made Shizue look more pleased at her attack. In fact, she teleported her rings underneath Lucy and Sting to make them detonate in six powerful light pink blasts that heavily damaged them. A seventh light pink blast occurred, causing Lucy to scream in excruciating pain, and it had twice as much power to send the Sabertooth mages falling down to a lower level of the staircase.
"You two sure seem to be in a lot of pain, but we're only going easy on you. Just kidding!" Miru calmly told her opponents while feigning a look of confusion on her face, before smiling happily and proceeding to lower one of her eyelids with her tongue simultaneously sticking out.
Shizue added with a sadistic grin on her face, thinking about that first fight, "After how you had the audacity to nearly defeat us on our turf yesterday, we're going to make you experience the true hells of Psychic Magic!"
Sting exclaimed while looking up at them with a determined facial expression, wanting to retaliate against their attacks, "Let's see if you even have the chance to do that! White Dragon's Light Bomb!"
The blond-haired male shot out a large orb of white light from in between his hands, and Sting aimed it straight up into the air. The orb of white light went high enough to even expand the earlier hole that Lucy made with the Sacred Discharge spell, and the large burst of white light exploded to become many thin beams of white light that exploded when they hit the ground or hit some enemies. Sting watched his attacks rain down upon his enemies, causing him to smile, but Miru merely sighed in an annoyed manner while her eyes became hot pink with a hot pink aura surrounding her hands.
She activated the spell known as Wondrous Psychic Screen, which had been quite a nuisance for Lucy and Sting in their previous fight against these girls, and seeing the glass-like rectangular screen in a hot pink color appear around the antagonists only made Sting groan in frustration. His attacks shrank in size, minimizing to where they were feeling like tiny bread crumbs landing on Miru and Shizue. Sting looked up to see them jump down from their level of the staircase, seeing them go all the way to the ground floor, and hearing footsteps go across the floor made Sting feel like he had to take a chance.
He shot out a large burst of white light from his mouth, glad that this spell was known as White Dragon's Holy Breath, and Sting hoped that its large explosion of light could break through the psychic screens to decimate his enemies. However, Sting could sense that a certain pink-haired woman was strengthening the magical power of her own spell. Miru put more power into the Wondrous Psychic Screen that made pink barriers be in front of her and Shizue, her hands being engulfed in a much larger hot pink aura, and Sting's attack ended up being a mere burst of light with hardly any power in it to damage his enemies.
"Is that the best you losers can do? It's crazy how you just came here for us to take out trash such as yourselves." Shizue asked Lucy and Sting with a taunting smirk on her face, before speaking arrogantly and looking like she was now resisting the urge to laugh hysterically.
Lucy asked aloud in an astounded manner, now seeing the full strength of her opponents' teamwork, "Miru weakened the spell that much, and yet Shizue can probably also enhance her power to a much higher level?"
Miru replied to Lucy in a provoking manner, briefly mimicking her surprised face before looking quite confident, "Wow, you're so surprised that we didn't let you see the full extent of our power in that last fight! We've seen your chain power, so any electric spell of is just useless against psychic wizards who can nullify it!"
"She's right. I'm not capable of hitting her or Shizue with short-range or long-range attacks right now, and trying to strike them with spells from above would be pointless. I'd have to break through Miru's shield as if I was a psychic who could hit something without physically touching it." Lucy thought to herself with an annoyed look on her face, before her eyes widened with realization.
Lucy surprised everyone by jumping all the way down to the fuchsia pink tiled floor of the tower, her hands reaching behind her to grab several yellow flames on the way down, and getting down to the lowest floor with only the flames now lighting the area made Lucy definitely feel like she had to be smart with her strategy. She slammed her hands together to combine the copious amount of flames that her fingers had touched, merging them all into a yellow fireball that had electric currents heavily flowing around it, and Lucy threw the fireball at Miru.
She watched all of the flames slam into Miru's shield to create several fiery explosions, before the hot pink screen of psychic energy severely weakened the fiery attacks, and only the electric currents remained on the barrier. Lucy looked closely at the shield to see that all those fiery attacks made Miru's shield be heated up to have a somewhat orange color while electricity flowed through it, and the shield was regaining its original color at a slow rate. That was most likely the drawback of Miru using more of her magical power to make the shield be quite durable, and her mind's psychic power didn't seem to focus on the shield's color. She didn't mind it at all, though, and Miru was glad that Lucy's attack seemed to leave behind useless electricity.
However, Lucy applied Lightning Magic to her feet and ran straight towards Miru. She got close enough to throw a punch at her, only to see the hot pink screen appear between them, and Lucy smiled confidently while placing her right palm against it. Lucy began to absorb all of the electricity into her hand, the yellow ring glowing brightly from how she was taking in a high amount of energy, and Lucy felt her hand become heavy with static electricity surrounding it. Miru watched Lucy use her other hand to pull her right hand off of the shield, ignoring how the hot pink aura weirdly changed to being yellow for a few seconds, and the moment that the aura entered her hand was when Lucy had a brief vision of a spell shattering Miru's shield.
"It's time for me to surprise you with my seventh spell, Miru! The fifth and sixth ones won't be needed right now! Seventh spell of Lightning Magic, I call upon thee! Raiu's Thunder!" Lucy exclaimed with a determined look on her face, ignoring how the yellow ring continued to glow brightly.
Miru asked aloud, looking somewhat puzzled, "That electric moron is jumping so far ahead?"
Shizue told Miru with a baffled look on her face, seeing a saffron yellow aura surround Lucy's body while the green-haired girl started to have a saffron yellow orb forming in her right hand, "That electricity clearly zapped her mind to where she has to use her most powerful spell to break our shields, and this idiot is seriously leaving herself defenseless against our remaining attacks!"
Sting shouted down to his teammate with a concerned facial expression, as he jumped down from a part of the railing that had no flames on it, "Be careful, Lucy!"
Lucy would definitely be careful with this spell, especially since the saffron yellow ball in her hand started to release sporadic jolts of saffron-colored electricity that created yellow explosions when they struck different parts of the room, and she raised her left hand upward while Lucy let her palm be aimed up at a cloud. The aura went straight up to the cloud, making it be in a saffron color, and it quickly sent down a massive spiraling beam of electricity towards Lucy! She kept her left hand raised up high to absorb all of the electricity, the yellow ring on her right hand continuing to glow, and Lucy jumped up high into the air at incredibly fast speeds!
Miru and Shizue didn't even see her jump into the air, and even Sting only saw a slight flash of Lucy's sphere hitting Miru's shield with at least five of its sporadic beams to make large saffron blasts occur after striking the shield. Lucy soon heard Miru's shield loudly crack like glass being harshly struck by a blunt object, and that prompted Lucy to aggressively grab all the shards before they hit the ground. She grabbed each piece of the shield, before oddly stuffing them all into her mouth, and Lucy simply let the spell rest in her mouth for her body to absorb its energy. The hot pink aura quickly became yellow, the conversion powering Lucy up even more, and she soon let all the shards fall from her mouth to vanish after they hit the ground.
Lucy ran towards Miru at insanely high speeds, before showing the spell's true effect by releasing an electrical discharge from her body to make a large burst of lightning strike Miru at close-range, and Miru screamed in agonizing pain. The chain power of the electricity from earlier only boosted the power of this spell to a very high degree, and six massive saffron yellow blasts occurred around Miru! They made electricity flow through the ground in a berserk manner, which made Shizue painfully get electrocuted while Sting jumped up high to avoid that aftereffect, but neither Lucy or Miru seemed to be finished with it.
"You're... You're not going to beat me in Parmanie Town, especially when this damn tower represents how us psychics are stronger than all the garbage mages that we've killed! The privileged mages such as Shizue and I shall make your meager lives end here!" Miru shouted with a fierce look on her face, refusing to back down.
Lucy decided to ask Miru in a serious manner, surprisingly asking a rhetorical question with a stern glare on her face, "Have you ever had your life be happy, only for some jerk to come along and steal your body?"
Miru asked Lucy with a confused facial expression, "What nonsense are you babbling about, you moron?"
Lucy asked her in a fierce manner, before speaking with determination in her voice, "No?! Then, you won't win against me and privileged wizards like you can't beat someone who's been through some hellish hardships!"
As Lucy released another electrical discharge from her body to harshly zap Miru with Lightning Magic at close-range, Sting blinked his eyes in a calm manner while looking impressed at Lucy's passion. Not only was she determined to get that fourth ring, but thinking about how Risa had been mistreated by Parmanie Town's privileged royals must've made Lucy think about how she went through several hardships to get the first three rings. Those certainly were difficult challenges, especially since Lucy dealt with people who ranged from being petty to being downright abusive and cruel. Therefore, she couldn't lose against two bounty hunters who wanted to capture Risa and add more money to their lives that were already cushy.
Lucy raised her left hand up at the thundercloud again for it to send down more lightning, which drastically increased her speed, and she was about to electrocute Miru again. However, the user of Psychic Magic fired a light pink sphere from her hand with two crescent-shaped blades swirling around it while she also used psychic power to send it high into the air. Lucy recognized this spell as Psychic Esper Pressure, seeing its pink beams come down from high altitudes to gain much more speed and power. Lucy attempted to dodge them, only to end up moving too quickly to where being near some pink blasts made her become immobile from the strong amount of psychic energy that made a pink aura surround her body, and she started to be pulled up towards the sphere.
Upon seeing Shizue run towards Miru and create six rings in the light shade of pink with small orbs orbiting them to possibly use a combination attack with her partner, Sting felt like he and Lucy could be an even better team. Sting went into a crouched stance while gathering a large amount of white light into his hands, and he created a circle with his hands to release a high amount of white beams that were fired up at Miru's sphere. Sting watched some of his beams collide with Miru's pink projectiles, creating light pink explosions that were bright enough to blind everyone's eyes for a moment, and Lucy used that chance to create the Lightning Voltage spell in her left hand. She ended up throwing that orb high up at the thundercloud, watching it surprisingly get absorbed, and Lucy watched some of Sting's light beams hit Miru's sphere to create powerful explosions. One of them even lightly grazed the saffron yellow sphere in Lucy's right hand, causing Sting's ray of light to get absorbed, but that didn't stop Lucy from getting struck by some of the pink beams.
"Lucy, you've got to hang on!" Sting shouted up to her, as he heard Lucy scream in pain from being caught in those pink explosions.
Shizue told Sting with a sadistic look on her face while throwing all of her rings up into the air, "It's no use! Miru's spell won't be going anywhere, until it detonates to decimate that foolish mage! Also, boy, you're quite the fool for not remembering this!"
Sting exclaimed while widening his blue eyes in shock, recalling the sight of those pink rings floating up into the air, "Oh, no!"
He watched Shizue's rings go up high towards Lucy while they absorbed Miru's pink beams that came into contact with them, and even beams that went through the centers of the rings were strengthening Shizue's projectiles with their Psychic Magic. The circular rings soon became jagged, before spinning at high speeds, and their jagged edges went up towards Lucy to harshly slice against her skin like they were sharp blades. Lucy screamed in pain from the feeling of those rings tearing into her body to create painful wounds, and she even aimed her saffron sphere down at them while feeling irritated.
Lucy's sporadic saffron beams managed to hit two of the rings, before the electricity surrounding them started to have a magnetic pull that made the rings stick together, and Lucy also aimed her right hand at the nearby rings to make electricity flow through them. She also aimed her right hand upward, sending more lightning into the thundercloud, and raising her left hand upward to make more electricity come down upon her was something that unfortunately happened at the same time as Lucy's body coming into contact with Miru's sphere.
Lucy was immediately caught in a light pink blast that felt quite painful, before falling all the way down to the ground for Sting to catch her, and she groaned in frustration while her body had taken some damage. Lucy watched Shizue's electrified rings gather in front of her body for the antagonist to place her right hand behind her left hand, and Shizue started to move her right hand in a counterclockwise manner with her other hand moving clockwise. The rings quickly became a massive light pink vortex that viciously spun with lightning surrounding it while the vortex's jagged edges looked quite intimidating, and Lucy felt like she needed to gamble with fate for an impressive victory to occur for herself and Sting.
"The fifth spell of Lightning Magic, I call upon thee! Thunderous Electric Static!" Lucy exclaimed with a confident facial expression, which made Sting feel very surprised.
Sting asked her with an astounded facial expression, "Lucy, doesn't that spell only stick an electrified opponent to metal?! Are you insane?!"
Shizue told him while grinning in a teasing manner, recalling that attack, "Since I'm not electrified, she must be insane to think it'll work on me again!"
Lucy fired a large yellow ball of lightning from her left hand with a small daffodil yellow sphere in its center, and she watched it swerve towards the metal railing of the staircase. That prompted Lucy to aim her saffron sphere at the stairs, precisely aiming it at the base of the railings to make blasts occur the metal railings, and seeing metal be sent flying high into the air made Lucy jump up quite high at fast speeds. She may have been wounded, but Lucy was still fast enough to get the portions of flaming metal that were in the air.
She threw them all down at Miru, who was smart enough to leap back, but Sting soon fired his White Dragon's Roar in front of her feet to blind her and Shizue. That was the perfect moment for Lucy to jump down with a piece of metal in her left hand, making it lightly touch Miru's body that had electricity surrounding it for the metal to stick to her like she was an electromagnet, and the Thunderous Electric Static spell went straight towards her. Lucy made more of her beams attack her own spell, increasing its power and speed. She watched her fast-moving spell strike the metal, which made Miru violently get electrocuted, and hearing Miru let out screams of excruciating pain from the increased level of power in this attack caused Lucy to have a grin of insanity on her face.
Lucy watched Shizue's vortex also go towards the sphere, laughing with madness in her voice from how it created a light pink blast with saffron electricity electrocuting both of her opponents, and this saffron shade of lightning was definitely representing a new level of Lightning Magic. Lucy heard both of her opponents scream in pain while her eyes showed no concern for them, and the fact that Lucy even waited for the electricity to fade away just for the opportune time to hit them both with a barrage of three Lightning Voltage spheres from her left hand even made Sting seemed freaked out.
"Lucy, isn't that a little excessive? Shouldn't you at least be feeling tired from using up so much magical power?" He asked her with a concerned facial expression, hoping that Lucy wouldn't recklessly release all her Lightning Magic in one shot.
His words prompted Lucy to reply with a satisfied smirk on her face, as a look of insanity was now in her eyes, "It's not excessive at all, Sting. After everything that these two bounty hunters did to us, they deserve to get beaten down. Besides, it's fair to finish the mess that they started against Risa and Rogue."
Miru responded while looking quite angry at Lucy's response, along with being angry at how the electricity tore through a bit of her hot pink strapless corset mini dress that was laced up in the back, "You really must be an idiot to think that you'll finish us off, you damn electric wizard! In fact, we'll show you how fearsome Psychic Magic can be!"
Shizue exclaimed with an irked look on her face, her fuchsia eyes glowing much brighter to activate a spell, "You two will regret ever wanting to face off against us in a fight, and we'll gladly end this battle! Let's see how you like dealing with Fuchsia Psychotic Aurora Crush, which is one of my strongest attacks!"
Shizue fired a fuchsia pink beam of energy high into the air, and it quickly came down upon her opponents at high speeds. Shizue made a fuchsia pink aura surround her hands while Miru ran towards that spell, and the fuchsia-eyed mage watched her partner jump high into the air. Miru activated her sixth spell, Psychotic Dazzling Aura, and she started to smirk in a confident manner from firing a pink sphere down at Sting and Lucy while her attack was also sparkly. Miru briefly glanced down at her attack, before using psychic power to push herself back towards Shizue, and she watched her friend's pink aura begin to coat the sphere while their combined psychic power caused both spells to descend towards the ground faster.
Lucy gently grabbed Sting's right hand with her left hand to quickly run away from the attacks with him, and they watched the aurora in different shades of pink begin to touch the ground for it to start bending in different directions that were quite bizarre. Sting sighed in a relieved manner from his body wouldn't get twisted again, but he soon saw Lucy run towards the blinding lights at high speeds. She simply stopped in front of the distorted ground, watching Miru's spell create a massive pink blast that was accompanied by the aurora's lights changing into a pink sphere that had smaller pink spheres within it. They didn't distort Miru's blast, only creating fuchsia blasts around her attack to try hitting multiple enemies at once, but more of the ground started to contort in odd ways.
Lucy quickly jumped upward while Sting also did that, but the intense gravity from the spell aggressively pulled them down to where they felt their bodies slam against the floor. Miru and Shizue moved their hands in a psychic manner while using psychic power to push their opponents into the blasts, Sting being pulled into a fuchsia one by Shizue while Lucy was sent flying into the pink one by Miru, and the two Sabertooth mages screamed in excruciating pain from the bright attacks. Sting groaned in pain from feeling his arms and legs be twisted in different ways, and Lucy felt an intense amount of pain from Miru's powerful spell while its brightness made her close her eyes. The light from Miru's and Shizue's blasts still shined brightly in front of Lucy's seventh spell, the sphere becoming brighter like it was lightning that got supercharged by light in this nearly dark room, and the clouds of smoke cleared up quickly for Sting to notice the brightness of Lucy's lightning before anyone else saw it.
"Is Lucy's spell being so bright because of that ring involving Lightning Magic? If that's the case, when in the world did her spells receive a supercharge?" Sting thought to himself with a curious facial expression, before struggling to move his arms and legs that were horribly bent out of shape.
Lucy exclaimed to Sting with a determined look on her face, not wanting to lose, "We can't die here, Sting! Let's see what else we can do to win against these bounty hunters! In fact, let's see if my trump card from before can make us defeat them!"
Miru told Lucy while looking fierce, covering some bloody wounds and bruises with her hands as she wasn't intending to lose, "If you think that you can kill us with that attack from last time, then go for it! We'll gladly eliminate you and your pathetic lightning!"
Lucy shouted while continuing to look determined, as she raised her left hand upward again to make the thundercloud send down more electricity to her body, "Sting and I absolutely won't lose! The sixth spell of Lightning Magic, I call upon thee! Electrical Luminous Thunder Burst!"
She put both of her hands together in a praying stance while the saffron sphere changed into being a large surge of electricity that surrounded Lucy's body in its saffron color, and Lucy aimed both of her hands at her foes. Lucy's hands were side by side, so she fired a massive yellow beam of Lightning Magic at her foes while the aura around her body alternated between being saffron yellow and pastel yellow. The large beam of lightning of lightning had high amounts of electricity surrounding it, as well as spiraling around it with saffron electric currents, and this fusion of lightning spells allowed Lucy's attack to be strengthened.
Lucy raised her left hand again to receive more power from the thundercloud, though, and she was instantly surrounded by a high amount of lightning to where another saffron-colored sphere formed in her hand. She watched Shizue try to counter this attack by using Psychic Pulse, which was a spell of Psychic Magic that involved Shizue firing a fuchsia pink sphere from her mouth, and Shizue quickly made her arms repeatedly cross over each other to make a fuchsia aura engulf her body. She watched the aura change into being two extremely large columns of Psychic Magic that twisted color, and Shizue started to smirk evilly at how Miru would help her out with their newest combination attack.
Miru used the Psychotic Dazzling Aura spell again, but she aimed it straight up at the sky for it to be directly underneath the thundercloud. Miru shockingly used the spell known as Psychic Meteor, which made her eyes glow bubblegum pink while her own spell was teleported only one inch closer to the thundercloud, and she stuck her tongue out at Lucy while her spell burst to make several pink beams rain down on the Psychic Pulse attack. Miru and Shizue watched their fusion spell switch between being fuchsia pink and bubblegum pink while it headed straight for Lucy's attack, and everyone got to see the two spells collide to create a massive blast!
"They're almost at equal levels of power!" Shizue exclaimed with a look of disbelief on her face, thinking about how their spell should've torn through Lucy's attack.
Miru responded to Shizue with a shocked facial expression, before widening her rosewood eyes at a very recent memory, "This girl's spells are supercharged, but they weren't like this last time! She must've taken in an electric charge when her hand was stuck to my Wondrous Psychic Screen!"
Shizue asked Miru while looking astounded at how Lucy would do that as a way to absorb electricity, "That lightning mage thought this far ahead with supercharging her spells, and she even did something that unorthodox?"
The blast's power sent Lucy flying high into the air while the pastel yellow blast changed colors to display the mix of fuchsia pink with bubblegum pink, and the high amount of psychic energy in the air even made Lucy feel like she could now briefly levitate. She aimed the Lightning Voltage spell up at the thundercloud again, firing two orbs instead of one, and hearing the loud sounds of the electrical explosions in the thundercloud made Lucy smile happily. As she quickly fell back down to land near Sting and wince in pain, Lucy started to narrow her orange eyes at how she'd definitely need the light dragon slayer to fuse a powerful spell of his own with hers to defeat Shizue and Miru.
They would have to use a great combination spell, especially since the smoke cleared up to reveal that Miru and Shizue were still standing, but being so close to the blast did make them be damaged by the electricity. Miru's rose pink skirt that had ruffles was now heavily torn, along with her light pink flat shoes being damaged from the blast, and her new pink headband snapped in half while she could barely stand. Blood dripped from her wounds, and she was badly bruised. Shizue was also heavily bruised with blood lightly dripping from some of the harsher wounds on her body, and her cerise pink fur coat was now heavily torn off while her bubblegum pink halter top had its lower part torn off in this fight. Shizue's bubblegum pink jean shorts were also heavily torn during this fight, and the rose pink high-heeled boots that reached up to her calves were now falling apart.
Shizue and Miru sternly glared at Lucy while they respectively had the bubblegum pink and fuchsia pink auras engulfing their bodies, but both women exhaled soft breaths to calm themselves down for what seemed like their last fusion attack. Miru stretched out both of her arms, before making her left hand move a few inches above her right hand, and Miru's left hand rapidly moved in the counterclockwise direction to create circles over that hand. She began to smirk viciously at how a bubblegum pink sphere appeared in the palm of her left hand, and Miru also felt an immense amount of power emanating from the bubblegum pink aura that started to build up within her left hand. She watched Shizue create a fuchsia pink ring in her right hand, the ring being quite large, and Miru smiled confidently from seeing Shizue place the ring on top of the sphere for it to split into eight rings that encircled the sphere while their palms briefly touched.
"Psychotic Psi Psywave Sphere in my left hand, unite with Fuchsia Psi Astral Rings from my right hand! Release all my power in this fusion spell, and let this psychic energy decimate the minds of my enemies!" Miru and Shizue shouted simultaneously with wicked smirks on their faces, before firing their last spell together.
Lucy exclaimed with a determined facial expression while getting up to raise her left hand, seeing electricity surround her large thundercloud, "It's time for us to combine spells, Sting! There's no way of knowing if this will be good or bad, but let's give it a shot! Eighth and final spell of Lightning Magic, I call upon thee! Lightning's Sparking Saffron Thunderclouds!"
Sting responded in a struggling manner, managing to get up and aim his attack up at the thundercloud, "White Dragon's... Holy Breath."
As Sting shot out a white burst of light that was quite large, yellow lightning came down upon Lucy for the last time. This lightning surprisingly healed her wounds, as well as restoring Sting's body to its original state when his left hand lightly touched Lucy's shoulder, and both of the mages felt themselves also receive more power. Lucy quickly looked up to see her saffron cloud releasing an electric charge in midair, the slightest bit of electricity striking other clouds to convert them into saffron-colored clouds that could send down high amounts of electricity, and each cloud in the chain link started merging together to create a much larger thundercloud. The cloud's electricity even sent down a large mass of electricity towards the saffron-colored sphere in her right hand, and absorbing Sting's light only made the electricity create several bright saffron-colored flashes of light.
The flashes quickly faded away to reveal that eight spheres were in front of Lucy to form a large circle, and an aura in multiple shades of yellow quickly surrounded the spheres one by one. Lucy threw the sphere in her right hand towards the center, causing the other spheres to latch on to it while a massive amount of saffron lightning rained down from the thundercloud to enhance the power of this attack, and Lucy punched it straight twards her enemies. She watched Shizue move her right hand in a psychic manner, making the rings briefly detach themselves from Miru's sphere while they appeared to grow in strength from absorbing this room's psychic energy with the side effect of looking distorted, and the rings soon reattached themselves to Miru's sphere as a way of strengthening it even more. The antagonists watched their attack head straight for Lucy, who tried to move out of the way with Sting, but Shizue was smart enough to aim her right hand at her foes to make them be pulled towards the fusion spell.
Lucy and Sting ended up being struck by the powerful attack, screaming in pain from the large fuchsia pink explosions that preceded a massive bubblegum pink blast, and Lucy watched her electricity start to get absorbed by the remnants of the rings before they made those explosions feel like painful energy waves. Miru's sphere created a blast that made Sting let out a scream of agonizing pain with Lucy also taking a serious amount of damage, and that blast felt like a tremendous amount of psychic energy hitting them from all directions at once with attacks that exploded. Shizue decided to sadistically laugh at their pain, feeling like she and Miru were the winners, but she soon heard Miru talk in a worried manner.
"Shizue, we just used up the last of our magical power on that fusion spell! Those sneaky and meager bugs probably hoped this would happen!" Miru told Shizue with a panicked look on her face, as she saw Lucy and Sting's spell getting close to them.
That prompted Shizue to reply with a comically stunned look on her face, her jaw dropping as her right eye twitched from the realization, "Miru, you... you just reminded me that we're both now out of magical power. Those pieces of garbage... Damn them!"
Miru and Shizue couldn't avoid Lucy and Sting's fierce attack, getting struck by the sphere that created a massive blast in a saffron color with the other blasts around it being in different shades such as plain yellow and pastel yellow. Lucy and Sting got to hear Miru and Shizue scream in pain from being hit by many electrical explosions at once, each burst electrocuting them with very high levels of lightning, and the villains even felt curving beams hitting their bodies while Miru opened her eyes to see those beams in different shades of yellow. The bursts and beams of electricity also created massive flashes of light, causing Miru to shut her eyes while she and Shizue were defenseless against this spell. As Miru and Shizue continued to get zapped by the electricity, they still seemed just as motivated as their opponents to win.
All of the smoke cleared up to reveal that Lucy and Sting were heavily wounded from the attack that Miru and Shizue threw in their direction, both of the Sabertooth mages having bloody wounds and bruises on their bodies while explosions from the distorted rings even twisted their limbs, but Lucy did her best to weakly stand up beside Sting. They watched the yellow smoke clear up to reveal that Miru and Shizue both struggled to stand, the women being badly wounded to where several of their bruises bled with electricity flowing around their bodies, and everyone began to breathe heavily with exhaustion from taking so much damage.
Lucy and Sting respectively looked at Miru and Shizue with facial expressions that showed unyielding determination, possibly planning to beat the girls by even crawling over to them, but Lucy made a stern glare towards Miru was quite intense. She wanted to get payback for Risa, who got confronted and riled up by these women who nearly killed her and Rogue, so Lucy wouldn't let them walk away freely. Miru began to glare back at Lucy, before starting to smile a bit with an impressed look in her eyes at how a user of Lightning Magic was quite fast and unorthodox to where attempting to foresee her attacks was useless, and taking so much damage from the electricity-wielding mage caused Miru to fall forward while her eyes became blank to show that she was losing consciousness. Shizue ended up falling forward, too, and she began to lose consciousness while smiling nicely as a way to show that she finally had some respect for her opponents.
As Sting also felt himself begin to collapse from exhaustion, he thought to himself while smiling a bit, "Rogue... Yukino... You have to... protect Risa."
Lucy thought to herself while falling backwards with a frown on her face, her body feeling wobbly with her vision starting to fade, "Risa, save... Parmanie Town. It's... all up to you."
How was Chapter 29? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on it. By the way, I'd like to explain something. The battle with Lucy and Sting going up against Miru and Shizue was initially supposed to be much shorter, but this showdown displayed the Saffron Gold Ring absorbing negative psychic energy to where Lucy went somewhat insane from it. Remember Kirie's note from the 19th chapter after the prologue? Yeah, that wasn't for nothing. Also, Miru and Shizue finally showed the true potential of their teamwork here while Lucy displayed all of her spells in this intense battle. Sting will gain more spells later on, since two-on-two battles will occur in future arcs. Anyway, this is the eighth part of the Fuchsia Psychic Arc! Risa's fateful fight against Kyoko shall finally happen next, along with something else that may be a surprise as this arc is now nearing its end. I'll update soon. :)
