Chapter 30: The Psychotic Psychic Showdown! Beliefs of A Good Princess! Sara's Guiding Hands! The Shadows of The Magenta Magic! Risa vs. Kyoko!
Risa's POV
After sneaking into the tower through a window and tightly shutting it to prevent it from opening again, I ran up the spiraling staircase's light pink steps with Psychic Magic applied to my feet. Running up to the top of this tower would allow me to finally confront Kyoko, the woman who currently held the title of being Parmanie Town's princess, and she was also the person who killed Sara with that cerise pink shade of Psychic Magic several years ago. The fact that she killed Sara was something that made me clench my fists tightly, since I would have to avenge the woman who was such a caring mother to me while not being blood-related didn't matter, and I would fight hard to kill Kyoko.
It would be very easy for me to leave the task of killng Kyoko to be something that Lucy could handle, but hearing all of those loud blasts distantly underneath me was something that made my mind start to think about how Lucy would need to use her best skills with the Lightning Magic to win against psychic mages. Since I had been running up to the top of this tower for about an hour now without seeing two infamous people be standing in the way, I decided to just assume that Lucy ended up encountering Miru and Shizue while searching for the ring.
I hoped that Lucy would find the ring, as well as hoping that she would do her best to stay alive, and I frowned in a concerned manner. Even if Sting went downstairs with Lucy, would they be coming back up from the lower floor of the tower? If my friends ended up dying, then I would feel horrible about not carrying out my initial plan of coming to Parmanie Town by myself. I didn't want my friends to get hurt or end up getting themselves, but they wanted to help me take down Kyoko while they seemed to not care if it would mean sacrificing their lives to achieve that goal. My friends were so supportive, and I couldn't exactly stop them from walking into the tower.
As I stopped for a moment to calmly walk past a light pink door where psychic mages were probably training with their magic or doing other telekinetic activities, my ears suddenly heard the loud sounds of footsteps slowly walking up to this part of the tower. That prompted me to turn around while creating a pink Esper Ball in my right hand, since any psychic mages who were coming up the stairs would definitely perceive me as a suspicious intruder, and I simply looked at the shadows that slowly moved along the walls while the two people suddenly came into view. Upon seeing a certain shadow dragon slayer walking alongside a certain Celestial Spirit Wizard, I smiled in a relieved manner.
Rogue told me in a soft whisper while he smiled back at me for a moment, "Risa, you can't go up to Kyoko's room alone. It's nice to have backup, you know."
Yukino quietly commented with a calm facial expression, updating me on the situation, "Lucy-sama and Sting-sama went downstairs to handle the lower priority of getting that ring, but Rogue-sama just heard their fight against Miru and Shizue come to an end. Risa-sama, they might all be-"
That prompted me to softly interrupt Yukino with a quiet whisper while having a look of refusal about hearing the worst-case scenario, "Don't even say that, Yukino! We have to believe that our friends are okay! If anyone else comes up these stairs, we'll send them tumbling back down to the foyer with severe injuries."
Having faith in my friends was all that I could do right now, since I came way too far to just head back down to the foyer without doing anything significant, and we all quietly walked past the elegant-looking door that seemed to not alert psychics to the quiet whispers. Also, the fact that I activated a weak spell such as the Esper Ball attack would make them think that one of their rookie mages would be entering the room soon. That was a good way to at least give ourselves some time to walk up to the next levels of this spiraling staircase, and we all went past the door with quiet footsteps until being far enough away to run. In fact, I even made my spell fade away while running to not make its magic be sensed anymore.
With Psychic Magic applied to my feet, I ran quite fast while gently grabbing the arms of my friends to quickly go upstairs with them. That fast speed would confound any other mages, since they would only sense it for only a few seconds to think it was just magic typically being used in those rooms of psychics, and I started to have a determined look on my face from how every quick step up the staircase would lead me closer to Kyoko. She would definitely be punished for all of the horrible things that she did on that fateful day, but I started to narrow my cherry red eyes in a stern manner from what I had seen earlier.
The fact that Miss Cordelia and Miss Nazuna were heavily injured was something else that fueled my desire to take down Kyoko, and my legs ran even faster with the pink aura of psychic energy growing around them. I couldn't let Kyoko continue to keep hurting people, especially when a princess wasn't supposed to value vicious carnage over having some class or morals. Since I planned on being the Sabertooth mage who would take her down, I wasted no time with helping my friends continue to go up the stairs. After a few more minutes of running, we soon arrived at a large door that was cerise pink on one side while being hot pink on the other side. There were also two bubblegum pink orbs hanging in midair with fuchsia flames in them, the flames starting to go out like they were flames that had been lighting the lamp-like orbs for a long amount of them, and seeing the small white clouds sizzle outward with silence made me turn around to face my friends at how that weird occurrence seemed ominous to me.
"Rogue, are you and Yukino absolutely sure that you want to go in there with me? Once we walk through these doors, there may be no turning back for any of us." I softly asked my friends with a stern facial expression, before speaking in a serious tone with a mix of concern and seriousness on my face.
I got to hear Rogue respond emotionlessly, as he simply frowned at my words, "We're ready to stand by your side, Risa. You may be worried, but helping you face up to your trauma and your worst enemy is what friends are supposed to do."
Yukino added with a nice smile on her face, "We're not scared, Risa-sama. We're going to help you free Parmanie Town from Kyoko's evil and tyrannical authority. We believe in you, so believe in us and believe in yourself. Believe in our magic being able to help you, Risa-sama, and remember that we're not the only ones who believe in every shade of your Psychic Magic. Lucy-sama ordered Sting-sama and us to have that heroic walk in unity to this tower for us to help you, since she greatly believes in you."
Upon hearing Yukino's words, I could only turn around and calmly think to myself with a soft smile on my face while my hair was in front of my eyes to obscure the sight of the doors, "Lucy, I wonder what you would've said to me if I asked you right now if you were sure about fighting Kyoko."
My mind started thinking back to yesterday, recalling how Lucy said she would take down Kyoko to make sure that she never hurt me again, and Lucy wouldn't care about the consequences of barging in on someone who was so sadistic. Lucy would probably even kick the doors down to show how she opposed Kyoko, regardless of any other mages being in that room, and she would possibly have electric attacks ready to launch at Kyoko. Lucy was such an amazing friend, and she was also one of the best mentors who really set examples for how I should act.
If Master Sara's spirit had been resurrected for her to at least see how Lucy was such a great mentor who I wanted to emulate when it came to skills with magic, then Master Sara would probably be smiling happily from how I refused to back down from this problem. Neither her or Lucy would want to see me be even the slightest bit anxious, so I closed my eyes and built up my magical power while my desire to protect everyone was immensely increasing with my emotions starting to fuel the thoughts that were related to my desire to protect my friends.
As a pink aura surrounded my body, I watched Rogue approach me to touch my left hand with his right hand. He made some of his black Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic flow down from his hand to be in my hand, briefly making the magenta pink aura return to me, and I happily smiled at him for enhancing my magic. I proceeded to smile at Yukino, who stood to the right of me, and she held my right hand for a few seconds just to show her support. I gently placed my right hand on the door, before weirdly seeing the faint sight of someone's ghostly hand being right behind my hand, and the sight of that hand with magenta fingernails quickly disappeared. I disregarded its importance, before watching Rogue and Yukino respectively push on the left and right sides of the large door, and I pushed on the center of the doors with a high amount of force to make them loudly swing open.
In the throne room... (Narrator POV)
The doors opened to reveal that this was the throne room, a room that had an elegant cerise pink throne at the very end of it while the tiled floor was hot pink, and the light pink carpet that led from the entrance all the way to the other end of the room was quite elegant. The light pink carpeting had bubblegum pink orbs on the left and right ends of its design, even having smaller orbs within the larger orbs, but the carpeting wasn't the most surprising aspect of this room. Risa glanced up at the plain pink marble ceiling to see light pink chandeliers that appeared to be made from fancy glass that had their large bulbs shaped like orbs, and they eerily made this room be brightened in a regular way without the lighting making the room have a pink color.
Risa turned to the eight arched stained-glass windows that were in a fuchsia color, seeing them be on the left side of this room with a light pink pair of wooden doors in the center of the eight windows, and those doors that had fuchsia pink orbs on them in a square formation probably led out to the balcony. That side of the room seemed quite royal to Risa, and she glanced at the other side of the room to see royal-looking fuchsia pink chairs with rose pink gems on the light pink metal that covered the comfortable-looking chairs. The chairs were resting against the rose pink walls that had paintings of Kyoko smiling, frowning, doing various poses, and there were even paintings of her using Psychic Magic.
Risa didn't need to sternly glare at any of the paintings featuring Kyoko, not even the one where she was calmly smiling while pink flames were behind her in what seemed like a place that felt the wrath of her flames during the evening sunset, and that was because of how Risa could glare at the real Kyoko Kamizuru with an intense frown that displayed immense seriousness. Risa tightly clenched her fists, her eyes narrowed as she glared at the woman who simply sat down with her right leg crossed over her left leg, and Rogue could tell that Risa had many things she wanted to say to this woman after ten years of experiencing almost nothing other than pain.
He watched Risa glare at Kyoko, who merely smiled in an impressed manner from seeing how the girl who she almost killed ten years ago was still alive to now be standing before her, and both women had certainly aged. The past ten years caused Kyoko to look somewhat older, her long light pink hair still falling t her hips and now having a rose pink headband separating her hair to where the two bangs from her hair were framed below the headband. Kyoko wore a light pink choker that had dark pink lacing around it. Also, Kyoko wore a cerise pink qipao-like dress with bubblegum pink robes that had a hot pink elegant-looking sash around her waist, and the sash was bordered with a bubblegum pink fabric lining it. It oddly went well with her high-heeled boots that were in a cerise shade of pink, and they had rosewood-colored buckles on the fronts of them. As Kyoko let both of her legs touch the ground, she gently cleared her throat while starting to evilly smirk.
"Well, if it isn't Risa Ryusei. It's been quite a long time from when that disgusting name first came from my lips, and now here we are. Ten years later, you show up in Parmanie Town again. I truly thought you were dead somewhere, but that report from Miru and Shizue certainly made me spill a good cup of tea yesterday out of shock and distaste from hearing that you've somehow been surviving. It's quite nice that our reunion will be the event featuring your public execution, you disgusting mage." Kyoko explained to Risa in a manner that showed utter disapproval in her voice, rudeness and sadism being in her cherry pink eyes.
Rogue spoke for Risa, sternness in his red eyes from hearing how Kyoko spoke to her, "I suggest you not be so arrogant, Kyoko. We're wizards from Sabertooth, and your reign over this town will come to an end today. In fact, we'll make it end by getting that ring off of your finger and I don't care if I have to stomp on your arm and severely break it."
Kyoko asked him with a disgusted frown on her face, before smirking viciously at how cerise pink Psychic Magic started to engulf her hands, "You'll be the one to defeat the powers given to me by that ring, just because you support that trash wielding magenta magic? Why don't you just try to injure me, since I'll destroy you with an explosive blast to the stomach like-"
"Shut your damn mouth!" Risa yelled with a fierce look on her face, refusing to let the antagonist finish that sentence.
Risa's response merely made Kyoko frown at her, which prompted the pink-haired villain to start looking curious about if Risa truly perceived herself to be bold enough to speak that way to a royal princess, and Kyoko angrily got off of her throne to walk off the small square that the throne was on. She glared at Risa, who glared back with more intensity, and Kyoko watched the magenta aura start to surround Risa's body. That only made Kyoko glare at her with immense displeasure, and she decided to pull something out of the left pocket of her dress.
She pulled out a light pink orb, which was an orb that looked similar to the ones that created Lacrima Vision screens, and Kyoko aimed her right hand at the balcony's closed doors to make them swing open. She levitated the orb out to the balcony, and making it gently fall against the ground was enough for the orb to seem like someone tapped it to make its effect be activated. Thin pink beams of light started to shine outward from the orb, and the residents of Parmanie Town saw the bright glow that was shining from the tower's balcony.
In a few seconds, several rectangular Lacrima Vision screens appeared in the air while they were in a bubblegum pink color. The screens were displaying what was happening inside the throne room, displaying to the citizens how Kyoko and Risa were glaring at each other, and Kyoko definitely wanted this event to be as flashy as when Parmanie Town nearly became an absolute pile of ashes from Kyoko's flames setting houses and streets ablaze. The psychic wizards and the townspeople wondered what was happening, but the most curiosity came from the people who were in the throne room.
"Are you trying to display your thorough sense of justice by making this battle be an example of why Parmanie Town's residents should be afraid of you?" Yukino asked Kyoko in a stern tone, as she could see her own face on one of the screens.
Kyoko responded to her with an impressed facial expression, clapping her hands in a condescending manner, "You don't seem to be a psychic, so I'm very amazed that a lesser person such as you figured that out so easily."
Risa told Kyoko while looking annoyed at her taunts, not liking how she wanted to make this be a spectacle, "Quit being so flashy, and fight me like a true mage! I'll show you who the better psychic wizard is, you bitch!"
That only prompted Kyoko to speak to Risa in a rude manner, as she smugly smirked while putting one hand underneath her own chin, "Risa Ryusei, you truly don't recall how flashy it was for that criminal Sara to waste so much magical power before I counterattacked with better Psychic Magic. She had the ridiculous idea of thinking she could kill me, which is just as ridiculous as the idea of thinking that an impoverished and underprivileged brat like you could kill me. A trashy commoner becoming a princess... How amusing."
Risa exclaimed while clenching her fists much tighter, her body trembling as tears of anger were in her fierce eyes, "Don't mock me, and don't you dare say her name!"
She was no longer able to keep her emotions from influencing her judgment, and Risa ran towards Kyoko. She created an Esper Ball in her right hand, before throwing the pink sphere at Kyoko, but Risa watched her enemy evade the attack at high speeds! The pink blast that occurred only left a scorch mark on the floor, before Risa quickly turned around to see that the antagonist was right behind her, and Risa tried to create another Esper Ball in her hand. However, Kyoko aggressively punched Risa in the stomach to send her crashing into one of the walls.
The sight of Risa hitting the wall and coughing up some blood was enough for Rogue to build up a high amount of magical power, and he made shadows surround his hand. Rogue ran towards Kyoko, before attempting to strike her with his spell called Slash of the Shadow Dragon, and he covered his arm in shadows to hopefully strike her with a fierce punch to the face. However, Kyoko's eyes merely glowed fuchsia pink while aiming her left hand at him. She began to levitate Rogue high into the air, before aggressively slamming him down against the tiled floor.
Yukino was about to summon one of her Celestial Spirits, but she was surprised to see Risa already activate a magenta-colored spell of Psychic Magic. Risa decided to use the spell called Shadowy Psychic's Psychokinetic Magenta Scream, and she shot out a large burst of spiraling psychic energy in a magenta color from her mouth. Risa watched the attack hit Kyoko to create a massive blast of Psychic Magic while the antagonist screamed in pain, and she watched the magenta clouds of smoke start to fill up the room. Risa glared at the blast, noticing its power, and she could tell that this fight was far from finished.
Five minutes later...
The blast and the magenta smoke faded away to reveal that Kyoko was merely wiping some dust off of her dress, almost like the attack didn't even affect her, and Risa took notice of something that surprised her. Kyoko wasn't wearing the pink ring from before, which made Risa look quite shocked at how Kyoko would just take even the slightest bit of damage, but only getting slightly injured was a way for the evil princess to mock Risa. She merely wiped more dust off of her dress, and Kyoko wasn't bothered by its small amount of bruises.
It seemed like she had spent the last ten years training with her Psychic Magic to where it was probably more powerful now, and Kyoko unleashed the spell known as Psychic Wrath. She fired seven hot pink beams from her hands while aiming them all at Risa, and Kyoko watched her foe easily dodge them. The beams surprisingly created hot pink blasts that left behind rings of pink flames, their heat being intense, and Kyoko laughed evilly while planning to not make this be an easy fight for Risa. Kyoko moved her hands in a psychic manner to manipulate several of the flames, and she aimed them all at Risa from every direction.
That only prompted Risa to activate the Stellar Psi spell on herself, which caused her to be propelled quite high into the air to where her fingers lightly touched the ceiling, and she watched the flames collide to create fiery blasts that were in a hot pink color. The brightness of those blasts unfortunately distracted Risa from seeing a cerise pink sphere be fired from Kyoko's right hand, and getting hit directly by that attack caused Risa to scream in pain! She fell towards the fiery blasts, which made her skin be somewhat charred while burns were now on her body, and Risa felt more pain.
She leaped away from all of the flames to pant heavily, and Risa activated the spell known as Psychotic Magenta Psi. She created a two-layered magenta sphere of Psychic Magic in her right hand, and Risa even sent her magenta-colored magic down to her feet as a way to help her run quite fast. Risa hastily ran past some flames to reach Kyoko, who swerved to the right while giggling in an amused manner, and Risa wasted no time with making a sharp right turn with her right foot to slam her attack against Kyoko's chest. Risa's attack created a massive explosion that was in a magenta color, its flames consuming Kyoko's hot pink flames to grow even larger, and Risa was sent flying back towards Rogue.
"Did that attack do a high amount of damage?" Rogue asked Risa in a serious tone, before activating a spell called Shadow Drive to make a black aura of shadows engulf his body.
Kyoko responded to him in an amused manner, as she walked through the smoke with a cerise pink aura of Psychic Magic faintly surrounding her body, "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's easy to foresee that your attacks won't even make me be severely injured. You should be aware that ten years of you being gone allowed me to figure out how even the slightest aura of my cerise-colored Psychic Magic can be coating my body to reduce the strength of your worthless attacks."
"You're only weakening our attacks because of how a trashy princess like you couldn't even handle dealing with my mother's final attack when it hit you at full force. After all, Kyoko, you screamed like an inferior mage who can't even handle some flames. Keep on being a wimpy princess who can't take us seriously, you bitch." Risa replied to her in a snarky manner, as she frowned at Kyoko.
That prompted Kyoko to frown in a very offended manner, as Risa had the audacity to speak to her in such a rude way, and Kyoko decided to shoot out a cerise pink beam from her hand. It rose up high into the air, before bursting into several small projectiles that went towards the ground, and Kyoko moved her hands slowly to make the beams descend at a slower rate. That would give them time to build up their speed, as well as their power, and she even fired a cerise pink vortex of flames in that color from her right hand. The vortex was aimed at some of the beams that were in midair, strengthening itself and them from fusing together for an attack that quickly headed towards Risa, and Kyoko grinned evilly from combining the Cerise Burning Vortex spell with her other attack that was known as Psychic Mystical Fire Burst.
She watched Rogue grab Risa to descend down into a shadow with her, taking Risa down into darkness where the attacks couldn't hurt them, and Kyoko simply watched her powerful beams create cerise pink blasts that left behind flames in that color. Those flames may have been melting quickly like hot wax that could severely burn people, but they created many shadows. Rogue emerged from one of those shadows, before eating some nearby shadows to replenish his energy, and he pulled Risa out of the nearest shadowy void.
He watched her create two pink orbs in her hands, before the sphere in her right hand became a magenta color from how Risa was just down in the shadows to absorb that void's magic, and Risa slammed her hands together to make her right hand's sphere absorb the one in her other hand. The sphere in her right hand grew much larger, before thin magenta pink beams emanated from the sphere, and Risa aggressively slammed the sphere against Kyoko's stomach as her furious facial expression displayed how that was just her first strike of vengeance for how Kyoko killed Sara.
"Hopefully, this explosion sends you to hell!" Risa exclaimed to the antagonist while maintaining her enraged facial expression, before seeing her attack create a massive magenta-colored blast.
That only made Kyoko respond with a disgusted facial expression, as she struck Risa's body with her Psychic Distortion spell, "I won't be sent to hell for trying to get rid of that disgusting type of magic, and getting rid of you is also necessary!"
The hot pink ring that Kyoko fired at Risa was powerful enough to make the pink-haired girl scream in pain, as it split into seven rings immediately after detonating upon making contact with her body, and those seven rings began to twist Risa's body in horrific ways to where she could hear her arms and legs bending in a painful manner. Risa also felt her hands bend in multiple directions while her wrists even got twisted, and the immense amount of pain from this spell's cerise-colored variation really showed Risa that her enemy had significantly improved with this vicious magic.
Of course, the past ten years that involved psychic wizards getting better at their magic also meant that Risa had improved. She fell to the ground, before painfully raising her head to see the six silhouettes of her clones rising up from the black shadows, and the clone who stood at the front of the group merely turned around to look at Risa with a confident facial expression. She sternly nodded to one of Risa's other clones, who walked away to go place her hands on the real Risa's body, and a magenta aura surrounded her hands while using a healing spell to get Risa's body back to its original state.
As Risa slowly stood up to watch the smoke clear up with Rogue and her clones, she briefly turned around to give Yukino some silent hand gestures that pertained to when she'd need to summon her Celestial Spirits. Yukino simply nodded her head in an approving manner, before quickly pointing at the point with two fingers from her right hand for Risa to turn around, and putting a high amount of Psychic Magic into that spell made Risa believe that she heavily damaged Kyoko. However, seeing a few drops of blood start to appear from Kyoko's side of the blast only informed Risa that the real battle would now begin.
Three minutes later...
The smoke cleared up to reveal that Kyoko looked slightly startled at how Risa could use more than one spell of the magenta Psychic Magic, but the loud blast was soon followed by the soft sound of blood dripping in small drops like rain. Kyoko noticed that the blood came from her body, causing her to gently touch a painful bruise that was on the left side of her face, and the fact that Risa's spell made a deep cut be on her face was something that made Kyoko scream in horror. She couldn't believe that a lowly commoner such as Risa could harm her to where she now felt some pain, and seeing that Risa could use more spells of that forbidden magic made Kyoko frown with annoyance.
She wanted to display her strength to the townspeople by killing Risa with the least amount of effort, but seeing how Risa could now create clones while possibly having other forbidden spells made Kyoko start folding her arms in a stern manner from how she would have to deal with a troublesome issue. Kyoko decided to activate a new spell known as Psychotic Distortion Wave, and that spell caused a cerise pink aura to start engulfing her body. Kyoko mainly applied the aura to her feet, before spinning around in a counterclockwise manner, and making the motions of aggressively slashing at the air with her nails while spinning allowed Kyoko to create several cerise pink crescent-shaped waves in midair.
She soon faced the real Risa, before pushing her hands forward, and the energy waves headed towards Kyoko's target. Risa watched two of her clones to try to intercept the waves with the Gleaming Magenta Psi Aurora spell, which made magenta spheres of psychic energy surround their bodies right before they unleashed that energy in the form of magenta energy waves that could create massive blasts, but Risa widened her eyes in shock from seeing those attacks get absorbed by Kyoko's projectiles. The attacks became much larger, and they created powerful cerise pink blasts after striking the clones.
Magenta clouds of smoke filled the sky while Risa found herself having to dodge the other energy waves that landed near her, but Risa soon felt pain from how her feet landed in some of the cerise pink hot wax. She winced in pain, before screaming from its immense amount of heat while the wax seemed to be bubbling like lava, and Risa watched some of Kyoko's energy waves strike her body. Kyoko followed that up by unleashing a spell that was simply called Psycho Rondo Pink Flames, and she aggressively slammed her hands together. After a few seconds, a bubblegum pink whip soon appeared in Kyoko's hands. The whip was made from bubblegum pink orbs that had fuchsia flames surrounding them, and Kyoko stretched out the long whip while using psychic power to make it tightly wrap around Risa's left wrist. The whip soon created a bubblegum pink explosion, before Risa could feel Kyoko beating her with it from multiple directions, and each explosion from the whip sent Risa flying across the throne room while she let out screams of agonizing pain. Her body soon landed in more of the hot wax, and Risa weakly got on her hands and knees while feeling intense pain from the hot wax that burned her skin. The smoke quickly cleared up to reveal that Kyoko's whip was vanishing, and she clapped her hands in a slow manner while giving Risa an amused smirk at how the last explosion took out the clone who had healed her body.
"Well, it looks like that explosive whip burned away most of the garbage in this throne room. Of course, there's still the vilest piece of trash that has to be killed for wielding that disgusting magenta-colored magic. In fact, Risa Ryusei, I'm quite amused at how this is the best you can do with your skills." Kyoko told Risa with a taunting smile on her face, before frowning in disgust at how Risa wasn't being a challenging opponent.
Rogue exclaimed to Risa while turning around and seeing her cherry red eyes be narrowed in frustration, not wanting her to unleash an attack with too much magical power, "Risa, I know you have every right to be angry at Kyoko! However, don't fall for her taunting! She's just riling you up to probably exhaust you, which is similar to how she made Sara burn up so much magical power before attacking her."
"My, my. How very observant for you to notice that, especially since you're not a psychic wizard. It's a shame that you fail to realize that I've also trained hard with Psychic Magic to make myself have power that's equal to or far more than what the ring gave me, so I could just kill you all right now with no resistance. Risa Ryusei, you and I both foresee that there's nothing you can do." Kyoko told Rogue in a condescending manner while smirking, before turning her attention to Risa while psychologically attacking her confidence with that statement of hopelessness.
Risa thought to herself with a frustrated look on her face, as she was trying to stand up in a state where she was now badly bruised and bloodied with harsh burns on her body, "My spells are barely even damaging Kyoko, and she's probably the strongest person I've ever had to fight. That cerise-colored Psychic Magic truly could kill me, and I may not be able to protect my friends. I can't let my hopes fade, even if it seems like I'll die here."
"That's exactly right! Never abandon hope!" Risa heard Sara's voice sternly exclaim from within her thoughts, causing her to softly gasp in shock.
Upon remembering how Sara was so motivational, Risa started to look down at the ground with a serious look on her face. She couldn't afford to let down her friends or lose against Kyoko, and there had to be some way for Risa to win. She noticed that the magenta aura around her body was fading, due to using up so much magic in that previous spell, and a sudden thought about how Lucy taught her to improvise made Risa exhale a soft breath of air. She surprised everyone in the throne room by creating the two-layered sphere known as Cosmic Psi, before shockingly slamming that hand down in the cerise pink goop, and Risa used her psychic abilities to make the goop be coating her spell.
Risa threw it at Kyoko, before Rogue fired his Shadow Dragon's Roar attack at the sphere to make black shadows surround it, and Risa watched the attack harshly slam into Kyoko. It created an average-sized black blast, before creating a larger cerise pink blast that was instantly followed by a large pink blast, and Kyoko screamed in pain from this fusion attack exploding around her. The psychic and shadowy power soon formed a magenta color for a few seconds, and the shadows that spread outward made Risa's clones come back to emerge from them.
Rogue blinked his eyes for a moment to see how the clones suddenly came back, almost as if they needed shadows to return, and he turned around to see the real Risa's eyes become light pink while one of the clones went by her side to heal her again. Risa was now fully healed, and she narrowed her eyes at the situation while thinking that improvised spells such as Cosmic Cerise Psi wouldn't be enough to help her win this fight. Risa closed her eyes while thinking back to the days when she read up on magenta magic in Sara's basement, and she would gladly let all of that knowledge come back into her mind.
"Sacred spell of the magenta Psychic Magic, I call upon you! Magenta Psychic Shadowy Rings!" Risa exclaimed with a fierce facial expression, as she felt quite determined to beat Kyoko.
One of her clones told Rogue in a soft whisper while running past him, smiling a bit, "When the rings go past you, hit them with Shadow Dragon's Raven Arrows to make them have a great effect."
Rogue told Risa's clone with a small smile on his face, perceiving her to be foreseeing something awesome, "All right, Risa. Whatever spell you're seeing is probably going to help us succeed."
The spell known as Magenta Psychic Shadowy Rings required Risa to close her eyes, and she slowly moved her hands in a psychic manner to create four magenta-colored rings from the magenta aura that returned to engulf her body. The magenta rings simply floated in midair while looking like eerie silhouettes of solid rings, and pushing her right hand forward caused the shadowy figures to glide across the ground. They gathered up some of the magenta flames that were still on the ground, making themselves look like flaming rings, and Risa threw some cerise pink clumps of goop at them for the rings to be coated in a fusion of those colors. The rings glided along streams of magenta flames, before Rogue activated the spell called Shadow Dragon's Raven Arrows, and Risa was glad to see eight black bullets with spearheads rise up from the shadows to be manipulated by movements from Rogue's hands. The shadow dragon slayer made his projectiles strike the rings, their black blasts getting absorbed, and that enhancement only made the rings grow larger.
Kyoko ran out of the smoke to try and avoid the rings, only to be hit by Risa throwing a ball of cerise pink goop at her face to make her psychic abilities lose focus for a moment, and she coulsn't react fast enough to being struck by the immensely powerful rings! Kyoko screamed in agonizing pain from being caught in a massive black explosion, before the cerise pink and magenta pink explosions followed it, and every shadow within the explosions detonated around her with heated Psychic Magic adding to that explosive power.
The explosions soon faded away to reveal that Kyoko was badly wounded with blood dripping from bruises that could be seen through the torn parts of her dress, but Risa wouldn't show any mercy in this fight. She chose to gather up cerise pink goop from nearby puddles, before molding them into cerise pink spheres that were solid, and Risa started stuffing them into her mouth. She quickly swallowed them, before feeling a massive surge of magical power in her body, and applying that magic to her feet allowed her to run quite fast to be in the shadows of the throne's altar. Risa slowly picked up some shadows to eat them, and she took a few quiet steps forward to confuse her opponent. Risa soon got behind Kyoko, who gasped in shock from seeing Risa move at incredibly high speeds, and Risa unleashed a spell called Magenta Psychic's Roaring Mystical Inferno. Risa unleashed a cerise pink stream of fire from her mouth, before the flames became magenta pink, and they soon grew larger while becoming a darker shade of magenta. The fiery vortex of flames sent Kyoko flying across the throne room, before a dark magenta explosion occurred to leave behind flames in the same color, and Kyoko let out a pained scream from the high level of this attack.
Twenty minutes later...
She was sent rolling across the floor, before briefly sliding towards Yukino, and Kyoko slowly stood up to reveal that she was heavily bruised from that attack. The pink-haired antagonist glanced down at some of her wounds, and she looked out at the balcony while hearing some loud cheers come from the townspeople who were probably starting to cheer for Risa. That only made Kyoko frown in annoyance, as she wondered why the fashion and proud residents who had some wealth would cheer for a commoner who had also been a criminal.
Risa would prove that she was the better person to cheer for, though, and she applied Psychic Magic to her feet. Risa ran towards Kyoko at high speeds, and she struck the princess in the stomach with the magenta-colored magic engulfing her right fist. Risa got to hear Kyoko groan in pain while some of her bones possibly got broken from getting hit so hard, and the force of the punch sent Kyoko flying towards the front doors of this room. Her back hit the doors, before she slid down, and Kyoko opened her eyes to see Risa charging up her magenta shade of Psychic Magic for another powerful attack.
That only made Kyoko become quite enraged, as she thought back to when Risa was that weak and scared little girl who cried over Sara Hoshiakari's death, and Kyoko started to tightly clench her fists at how she wasn't going to lose against someone who used to be terrified of her power. In addition to that, getting hit by that color of Psychic Magic made Kyoko angry to where she created a large cerise pink sphere in her hands. She threw it at Risa, before slyly using her psychic powers to wrap the attack to where it would be directly behind Risa, and the large blast that occurred in a cerise shade of pink sent Risa flying towards Kyoko.
Kyoko used that a chance to get payback for how Risa dealt so much damage to her body, and Kyoko created another cerise pink sphere in her right hand. She made the cerise pink aura surround her left hand, and Kyoko slammed it against the ground for a geyser-like beam of cerise pink Psychic Magic to emerge in front of Risa. She crashed into it, resulting in another blast occurring, but Kyoko wasn't finished. She jumped up into the air to slam her sphere down on Risa's stomach, smirking evilly at how it was going to explode after making contact with Risa's body, but the sudden sight of Rogue disappearing into the shadows and emerging to kick Kyoko in the face made the antagonist gasp in shock at how her attack struck the ground to create a large cerise-colored explosion with its flames create much more goop than before. As Kyoko turned to see Rogue help Risa stand up, their tenacity made Kyoko start to fold her arms while frowning with the slight feeling of curiosity in her light pink eyes.
"Tell me something. Even if you're here to kill me out of sheer revenge, then what makes you think that a disgusting criminal and commoner such as yourself deserves recognition from killing Parmanie's princess and queen? Are you desiring to become a royal with the illegal magenta magic that must be eradicated? What do you hope to change in Parmanie with that ugly and forbidden magic that's going against my beautiful and acceptable color of Psychic Magic? Risa Ryusei, do you seriously fail to see how your disgusting heresy goes against the fine beliefs of a princess who believes in thoroughly getting rid of filth that goes against the royals?" Kyoko spoke to Risa in a stern tone, before asking her some questions in a displeased tone while frowning in a somewhat confused manner.
Risa explained to Kyoko with passion in her voice, looking quite stern as she stated her beliefs with her face appearing in the Lacrima Vision screens to the townspeople, "Kyoko, I'm not here to get praise for defeating you! There's nothing wrong with my type of Psychic Magic, but you're like the other royals who feared it! Taking you down would help me prove that all types of Psychic Magic deserve to be viewed equally, regardless of their wealth or power. Kyoko, my beliefs can rightfully counter your classist opinions when you've proven to be a princess who will hurt anyone that even slightly defies your absolute sense of justice! People deserve peace, not poverty or pain!"
Risa continued speaking to Kyoko, as she took small steps towards the balcony, "Even if I were to die here after defeating you, I'd be acting like a princess who truly cared about protecting her people instead of being a self-interested bitch who puts bounties on children for sadistic pleasure! Your desires victimize people and create terror, even to kind people such as Sara, and that's not how a princess must act. In fact, the shades of my Psychic Magic will prove to you that the type of psychic power that a mage uses is irrelevant. The actions you carry out with Psychic Magic from your will and mind shall determine who you are in life, regardless if you're poor or privileged, and even the kindest person can wield this magenta magic! I'll be the person to make that be something people can foresee from someone who's not royalty, so stop hating my magic!"
Rogue merely thought to himself with a surprised look on his face, before smiling a bit at hearing his teammate be so passionate, "Risa... You may not know it, but you truly are a protective and powerful princess of Parmanie."
Kyoko's right eye merely twitched with anger from hearing Risa's words, almost like she wanted to immediately strangle her for having the disgusting audacity to go against the policies of her royalty while also being someone who wielded forbidden Psychic Magic, but Risa and Kyoko soon heard the sounds of an applause occurring from within Parmanie Town. The townspeople were moved by Risa's speech to where they even cheered the magenta color of her magic, seeing how she was fighting so hard with that magic while having many thoughts on her mind, and some mages even used spells of Psychic Magic to see Risa's thoughts of following Sara's encouragement that she could be a princess. The female psychic mages even began to see her deep thoughts of protecting Rogue, causing them to smile, and they could only start to cheer Risa's name.
That prompted Kyoko to groan in a frustrated manner, before creating a cerise pink sphere appear in her left hand while making a bubblegum pink orb appear in her right hand. She ran towards Risa with a displeased look on her face, only to see Rogue stop her by unleashing a spell that was simply known as Shadow Wave. Rogue aimed his right hand at Kyoko with his palm facing downward, before moving that hand to the left in the shape of a semicircle, and he quickly created a black wave of shadows that were in the shape of a jagged crescent moon.
Kyoko merely blocked that attack with her cerise pink sphere, before sending more magical power into it, but she was soon stopped by the sight of Rogue unleashing a new attack called Shadow Dragon's Waxwing Psychotic Magenta Flash. This spell even surprised Risa, since Rogue made a black aura strongly engulf his body right before he turned into shadows. This spell made his hands gather up shadows from the cerise pink goop while the shadows themselves pulled the goop up towards him, and the aura around Rogue's body soon became a fuchsia color. He soon became a large aura of intangible shadows, which allowed the black-haired male to viciously constrict Kyoko with several feather-shaped fuchsia shadows, and Rogue quickly sent her flying towards the door by striking her with a large vortex of fuchsia shadows that emerged from his hands when he returned to his normal form in Shadow Drive. Rogue's improvised attacked impressed Risa to where the fuchsia and black blasts made her cheer happily, but neither mage could celebrate because of how Kyoko aggressively ran out of the fuchsia smoke with more bloody wounds on her body while looking enraged.
"You filthy dragon slayer... You have the audacity to not only mock me with a spell involving Psychic Magic, but a mage who isn't even a psychic thinks he can damage me and get away with it! You'll regret ever desecrating my throne room with your presence! Let's see how you handle Psychic Future's Psi Burst!" Kyoko angrily exclaimed with a facial expression showing immense rage, before sending a high amount of power into the bubblegum pink sphere to where it was brightly shining.
Rogue responded fiercely, as he moved in front of Risa to make this fusion attack not be directed at her, "Shadow's Dragon's Roar, and Shadow Dragon's Slash!"
Risa shouted to him with a concerned facial expression, as she widened her eyes from foreseeing something ominous, "Rogue, no!"
However, Risa's concerning vision came too late. Rogue fired the shadowy black vortex from his mouth while also using Shadow Dragon's Slash in a creative manner that made him shoot out several thin shadows from both of his hands, but Kyoko's eyes suddenly glowed in a fuchsia pink color. She applied a high amount of Psychic Magic to her feet, before striking Rogue in his left side with the bubblegum pink sphere, and Kyoko watched Rogue become engulfed in an enormous bubblegum pink blast that also injured Risa! Kyoko leaped back to watch the mages suddenly get struck by bursts of Psychic Magic that occurred within the blast, their power being quite fearsome from the amount of psychic energy that Risa and Kyoko created in this throne room. Kyoko watched Rogue and Risa become caught in a high amount of bubblegum pink explosions, hearing them both scream in excruciating pain, and they soon fell to the ground. The bubblegum pink smoke cleared up quickly to reveal that Rogue and Risa were badly bruised, but Rogue couldn't maintain the power from his Shadow Drive spell. He slowly stood up with Risa, but Kyoko was not done.
She made a cerise pink aura engulf her right hand, feeling its power while also liking how the aura felt quite dense, and Kyoko jumped up into the air. She made a cerise pink aura engulf her body while it glowed brightly, and Kyoko unleashed a spell known as Psychotic Warp Psi Trick. Kyoko's aura spread out to not only engulf and strengthen her cerise pink spheres, but it soon took the form of being many cerise pink beams that went down towards Risa and Rogue while Kyoko controlled them all by thrusting her hands forward. She watched Risa activate an advanced spell of the magenta Psychic Magic that was known as Psychic Magenta Cosmic Shields, and that spell created two large heart-shaped shields in midair.
They floated in front of Risa while the shields had light pink bordering, and they had large fuchsia hearts in the center with bubblegum pink orbs forming squares around the hearts. Risa moved her hands forward to make the shields be pushed outwards to block some of the beams, only to wince in pain from feeling the impact of the explosive beams on her own hands, and Risa tried her best to concentrate on maintaining the shields. She felt more pain in her hands from the beams pushing against her defenses, and flipping her hands downward to reflect the explosive beams back at Kyoko was Risa's only way of attacking her opponent right now. However, Kyoko smirked deviously while moving her hands forward two times to make them suddenly warp away at high speeds! Most of them soon appeared behind Rogue to strike him, creating many cerise pink blasts that viciously harmed him and Risa. Both mages screamed in pain from this painful attack, and the explosive beams were even quite hot to where Rogue and Risa were badly burned with their skin being charred brown.
"We're not... done... yet." Risa stated aloud, as she panted heavily.
Rogue added while also heavily panting, not wanting to lose, "Kyoko, we'll... take you... down."
The cerise pink smoke cleared up to reveal that Rogue and Risa could still stand while looking wounded and determined to win, but Rogue took notice of the magenta aura around Risa's body starting to fade while all the damage that she and the shields took from those beams resulted in her shaky hands bleeding from the strain of maintaining the spell. Kyoko even fired five beams at both shields to just make explosions occur, further injuring Risa's hands, and Risa's body started to shake with panicked feelings while her hands began to move in different directions for the shields to look like they couldn't stay motionless in midair. Risa sent more of her magical power into shields, which only increased their durability by a slight amount while Risa could tell that slightly moving the shields would make a beam go past them to strike her or Rogue, and the spell's strain on her hands made them bleed more.
Risa's legs were now shaking, the trembling refusing to stop, but she tried to even slightly keep the shields against the beams for them to not target Rogue. As Risa started to look more worried and greatly tried to keep her shaky hands from lowering, the pink-haired girl suddenly saw the faint image of a certain woman's hands gently being on top of hers to gently help her raise the shields. Risa noticed how Sara's sudden grip on her hands made them cease with shaking, and she briefly turned her head to see Sara's spirit simply giving her a confident smile. That gave Risa the necessary amount of confidence to infuse more magical power into her shields, and she stretched her arms out to push her hands forward. Risa soon got to see that strong push from her shields be capable of deflecting the beams, but lowering her hands for a single moment caused the shields to loudly shatter while cerise pink blasts occurred in front of her. That wasn't the end of it, though. The blasts were only a distraction for Kyoko to aggressively charge towards her while building up more magical power, and she soon slammed her hands together to combine the two spheres into one larger cerise pink sphere that had many thin beams brightly emanating from it.
In contrast to Kyoko, Risa didn't have any magenta magic left to keep her clones from vanishing in puffs of smoke. She could only widen her eyes in a somewhat frightened manner from seeing Kyoko look quite angry, and Risa started to have a somewhat panicked look in her eyes. Risa ran towards the magenta flames that were still burning in this room with other pink flames, only to see Kyoko lunge at her with the sphere getting close to Risa's body, but the sudden sight of Rogue getting in front of the attack to get hit in the chest by Kyoko's bright spell surprised both women. He turned around to give Risa a kind smile, before pushing her sunglasses inward to keep them from falling off, and Rogue simply punched Kyoko's attack with some shadows lightly engulfing his right hand. Kyoko's sphere soon exploded, causing Risa to get sent flying back towards the flames, and she roughly rolled across the carpet to where her right hand was engulfed in magenta flames. She cared less about that now while Kyoko stomped on Rogue's arms and legs seven times, prompting Risa to run to his side with a worried look on her face. Risa knelt down by his side, tears forming in her eyes from seeing how Rogue was heavily wounded to where he would probably die.
Perceiving this to be an emotional moment for the two wounded mages while her eyes glanced at the orb that showed everything to the townspeople, Kyoko simply walked back to her throne without punching Risa or saying anything to her. Risa attempted to fire a thin beam of magic from her right hand, seeing the magenta beam heal Rogue's body with only its weakest amount of power to where his wounds wouldn't stop bleeding, and tears fell from Risa's eyes to lightly hit Rogue's body. She soon saw his left hand weakly rise up from the ground to touch her left hand, and Rogue weakly opened his eyes to just smile at her.
"Rogue... Rogue, why did you do that? You... You didn't have to do that! Not you, of all people!" Risa sternly asked him while crying, before her expression quickly changed to one that showed sadness.
The shadow dragon slayer explained to her, as he was breathing heavily, "Risa, you're... truly like... Parmanie's princess.. now. You've fought... hard to protect... everyone, so I... needed to protect you. You're an... amazing teammate, and I'm glad... to have worked.. with you. Take care... of Frosch... for me, Risa."
"Don't say that, Rogue! Don't die right in front of me like Sara and Kirie did! I can't let you leave me, Rogue! I don't want to lose you, too! That... That's only going to make my trauma be even worse than it already is! I'm already in pain from Sara's death, so just don't die!" Risa exclaimed with some tears falling down on to Rogue's face, as her grip on his hand became tighter.
"Risa, you can... defeat Kyoko... and end... your trauma. I'll always... believe in you. It's all... up to.. you. Lucy may... not be able... to do... anything if she... gets here, so... show everyone... how.. cool... you... are. Sara's spirit... is still... with you, and I'll.. also be with you... in spirit. Risa, goodbye. I... care... for.. you.. so.. much." Rogue looked up to explain to Risa, smiling a bit with tears in his eyes from seeing happy memories of Risa and Frosch occurring in his mind while his vision quickly began to fade with his eyes getting to see Risa crying without a repeat of the immensely traumatic experience where a dying person placed the sunglasses back on her head.
Upon seeing him shut his eyes while his hand gently fell to the ground, Risa could only exclaim in a shocked manner while looking distraught, "Rogue! Rogue, open your eyes! Seriously, don't die on me! Rogue... ROGUE!"
Risa didn't receive a response from him, not even hearing a slow heartbeat when she put her head near his chest, and seeing her friend dead on the ground only made Risa let out loud cries of immense sorrow. She started to have flashbacks of when Sara died in the forest to let her keep on living, before thinking back to when Kirie died in the church to protect her, and Rogue died to protect her like a great friend. However, Rogue wasn't just a friend to Risa. She thought about all of the times they interacted, especially times where he cared so much for her, and Risa recalled the day where she healed him when he was badly injured.
Rogue cared for Risa so much to where he wouldn't even let her go to Parmanie Town alone, and he even kept her from getting too riled up by Kyoko's insults. Risa watched his hand gently hit the floor, and she turned to Yukino to also see the Celestial Spirit Wizard crying. Yukino was probably too distraught to even help her right now, and Lucy was probably too injured to get here with Sting. Risa simply absorbed the lone magenta flame into her hand while feeling very alone, and she looked down at Rogue while thinking about his words of showing everyone how cool she could be by taking down Kyoko.
Risa felt quite emotional to where she aimed her right hand at several magenta flames, absorbing them into her palm while her left hand started to make pink flames be pulled towards it for them to be absorbed, and Rogue's last wish made Risa cry more. Thinking about her magenta magic allowed Risa to stand up and levitate some shadows up from the ground, before seeing the sudden image in her mind of Sara eating them. Risa started to eat many of the shadows, which was a touching tribute to Rogue and his magic while she could hear some mages crying in town at the immense emotion Risa was displaying in the throne room, and the aura around her body was dark magenta while she ate some clumps of cerise pink goop with tears falling from her eyes. She swallowed all of the magic and stood with her back turned to Kyoko, Risa's hair covering her eyes, and she got to hear Kyoko clap her hands in a slow manner while giggling like the sight of Rogue being dead.
"This is merely how it ends for mages who don't believe in thorough justice, and eliminating that pathetic dragon slayer has made you cry like a weak little wimp again. I'd say you're not even worth killing today, Risa Ryusei, but maybe your public execution can be tomorrow after you're thrown in Parmanie's prison." Kyoko told Risa in a pleased manner, smiling at Rogue no longer being conscious while ignoring how the dark magenta aura engulfing Risa caused her hair to become that color.
Risa softly replied to Kyoko with anger in her voice, clenching her fists tightly as other people could faintly see multiple shades of pink appearing in the aura around her body, "Just shut your mouth, and give him back to me..."
Kyoko asked Risa in a rude manner, creating a cerise pink sphere in one hand while putting her other hand near her right ear, "What did you just say? Would you like your execution to be in the same spot where that disgusting criminal Sara died, too? Should I slam you in the stomach with the cerise-colored sphere, or would you like it to be in a plain shade of pink for just as much beauty?"
"SHUT THE HELL UP, KYOKO, AND GIVE ROGUE BACK TO ME! I'M NOT LETTING YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS!" Risa angrily yelled while turning around to let Kyoko see her dark magenta hair and plain magenta eyes that looked as intimidating as her teeth now becoming fanged while her fingernails grew much sharper.
Upon seeing Risa's transformation and the dark magenta aura swirling around her body to nearly look like a spiraling beam of psychic flames, Kyoko took a step back while looking quite startled. Risa's body began to have white steam sizzling from multiple parts of it, her wounds quickly healing, and her strong feelings increased her magical power to where every shade of pink Psychic Magic that she could access began to briefly replace the dark magenta aura. The darker shade of magenta soon came back, though, but that wasn't the only thing surprising Kyoko.
She made her cerise pink sphere now healing properties, letting it gently touch her chest to make her wounds heal, and Kyoko felt like she had to heal from seeing a black shadow start to engulf the left half of Risa's body. She started to tremble from seeing Risa create a black sphere in her left hand, seeing it become dark magenta with thin beams of that dark light emanating from it, and Kyoko could sense that this power was at a very intense level. Risa almost felt like a completely different opponent, and looking at her eyes that were now magenta while having the slits of a dragon slayer in them made Kyoko feel that she was no longer fighting a child or even fighting Risa as an adult.
Yukino wiped away some tears while she watched the aura around Risa's body be so bright, and the faint sight of the aura having a regular shade of magenta within it allowed the Celestial Spirit Wizard to see the spirit of Sara Hoshiakari standing in the same spot where Risa was currently standing. Sara was probably sending down her own magical power to aid Risa, but the darker shade of magenta must've came from Risa mixing shadows with the magenta magic and the lesser types to immensely strengthen it. Yukino wanted to smile at the sight of Risa being so strong to where her psychic power even created intense winds, but any Psychic Magic that worked so well would obviously come with drawbacks. Yukino started to look curious about what those drawbacks would be, and she placed one hand in her skirt's pocket to summon a Celestial Spirit from a gold key if Risa couldn't win this fight.
Fifteen minutes later...
Risa surprised Yukino by running towards Kyoko at insanely at high speeds, before slashing the air in front of Kyoko with her left hand to create a crescent-shaped energy wave of Psychic Magic that was in a dark shade of magenta, and that spell was called Psychic Slicing Cosmic Wave. It struck Kyoko to immediately create a dark magenta blast, its power being immense to where it created many shadows while they stretched outward, and Kyoko screamed in intense pain from what seemed like Risa's weakest spell.
That wouldn't be powerful enough to kill Kyoko, however, and she applied Psychic Magic to her feet while being heavily bruised. She created a cerise pink sphere in her right hand while deciding that the best idea would be to target Yukino, who could only summon Celestial Spirits while also having some abilities in hand-to-hand combat, and Kyoko ran towards her. However, the antagonist soon halted from seeing Risa appear in front of her with an enraged facial expression. Risa slammed the sphere in her right hand against Kyoko's chest, causing the evil princess to wince in pain right before a dark magenta explosion occurred, and that spell was known as Magenta's Soul Eradication Bomb.
The intensity of the spell pushed Kyoko several feet backwards while she noticed that the cerise pink in her hand had its energy entirely blown out of her hand, and she got to faintly see the cerise pink aura entering Risa's body. That prompted Kyoko to jump up high into the air while making the cerise pink aura surround her body, the aura's glow being very bright, and it spread outward. Kyoko thrusted her hands forward to make several cerise beams go down towards the clouds of smoke that were now fading away. Kyoko watched all of her attacks strike Risa, only to see her disappear in a puff of black smoke after disturbingly becoming a dark magenta silhouette like she was an actual shadow, and Kyoko soon saw several dark magenta hands with long feminine nails rise up from the shadows to fire dark magenta beams from their hands while a magenta aura engulfed them. That spell known as Magenta's Psychic Shadowy Reflect, and it appropriately allowed Risa to reflect her opponent's spell after converting it to her own magic.
The beams struck Kyoko to create several dark magenta explosions, each one being worse than the last, and she soon felt several long fingernails scratching at her body. Kyoko briefly opened her eyes to see that the dark magenta hands were slashing at her in succession at high speeds, making her wonder if Risa was controlling them from the shadows, and one of those hands aggressively slapped Kyoko towards the ground. That made a large crater be on the tiled ground, and Kyoko felt immense pain while standing up to see Risa emerge from a nearby shadow on all fours with five of her clones coming from other shadows with enraged looks on their faces while they also snarled like berserk mages who were fully feeling Risa's immense rage right now. Upon seeing Risa's enraged glare and her magenta eyes, Kyoko quickly used Psychic Magic to warp herself away to her throne. That didn't keep Risa from instantly turning around to face her, though, and Kyoko could sense how Risa's eyes showed how her new power was terrifying.
"The bloodlust in those magenta eyes... That dark magenta aura... This is no longer a child!" Kyoko stated aloud, as she looked quite fearful from seeing the rage in the magenta eyes of the woman who ran towards her at high speeds.
Kyoko added to her thoughts, as she began to narrow her eyes and create two large bubblegum pink spheres in her hands, "Risa's magical power is growing stronger with every passing second, so I have to strike right now!"
"YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DO THAT!" Risa angrily shouted to Kyoko, as she used her psychic powers to command two of her clones to rush towards Kyoko at incredibly high speeds.
Kyoko watched two of Risa's clones strike her with powerful slashes to her arms, making Kyoko feel enough pain to where the spheres in her hands faded away from how she didn't focus on maintaining them, and she was soon struck by a large ring of glittery dark magenta flames that the real Risa fired from her mouth at close-range! The fiery explosions were quite massive, large enough to where their inferno started to make Kyoko's throne be ablaze with dark magenta flames creating a conflagration that quickly made the throne break down into being mere ashes, and Kyoko screamed in pain from how even the shadows of the flames created dark magenta flames that exploded around her body with enough destructive power to send her flying quite high into the air. She was amazed at the power of that spell, which was known as Magenta's Glittering Psychic Dark Flares, and she looked quite angry at how a commoner's flames made severe burns be on her skin that was now charred brown.
Kyoko sensed Risa appearing behind her in midair, and she couldn't even turn her head to avoid an insanely fast punch that came from Risa's left fist! She hit Kyoko in the face, and the force of her punch sent Kyoko down to the ground while that powerful punch also created a crater with magenta smoke coming from it. Kyoko slowly stood up, however, and her burnt skin made anger be in her eyes while she decided to unleash a spell called Psychic Cerise Volcanic Stream. Kyoko shot out a stream of cerise pink goop from her mouth while her eyes glowed in that same color, and she used her psychic abilities to even make cerise pink flames emerge from the attack that headed up towards Risa. That only made Risa quickly inhale air, before angrily letting out a fierce scream that was followed by a giant vortex of psychic energy being unleashed from her mouth. One half of the spinning vortex was in a magenta color, and the other half was dark magenta. It not only sent Kyoko's back towards her, but Risa's attack absorbed some of the cerise pink spell to strengthen itself. It soon struck Kyoko, creating a three-layered blast. The cerise pink blast occurred, followed by the larger magenta blast, and the much larger dark magenta blast occurred with the shadows creating smaller vortexes that tore into Kyoko's skin for her to scream in even more pain.
As smoke filled the room, Kyoko made a cerise pink aura surround her body in another attempt to fully heal herself. However, she could only make her wounds be somewhat healed while struggling to run out of the smoke. When the smoke quickly faded away, Kyoko's eyes widened in shock from seeing Risa's clones sink down into the shadows while the real Risa was suddenly gone. Kyoko's eyes looked around in a stern manner, not initially seeing Risa, but looking over at some dark magenta fire made Kyoko suddenly gasp in shock at the sight of Risa jumping up from a nearby shadow with her hands grabbing some flames. Kyoko ran towards Risa while making cerise pink and plain pink auras of Psychic Magic engulf her body, attempting to simply strike her with fierce punches, but Kyoko soon looked horrified at how Risa slowly vanished to look like a dark magenta silhouette that looked similar to a shadow. When Risa appeared around her again and again, Kyoko started to tremble with fear from how her punches couldn't even affect the half of Risa's body that wasn't covered in shadows. Kyoko groaned in annoyance from this, but she soon smirked with arrogance at how the psychic mage who seemingly went berserk was now evading her attacks.
"Do you think I'm a fool, Risa Ryusei?! You seriously think I can't tell that these shadows of yours are all part of an illusory spell?! Isn't it a bit insulting to think that another user of Psychic Magic can't see that you activated an illusion spell immediately after eating all that magic, you imbecile?!" Kyoko asked Risa while maintaining her arrogant smirk of denying this was all truly happening, even though her wounds felt real.
Risa furiously asked her with rage in her eyes, as she struck Kyoko's body with one of her fists that was coated in dark magenta fire, "IS THIS AN ILLUSION?!"
The impact of that punch made Kyoko cough up some blood, before the flames left dark magenta burns on her body, and she watched Risa vanish in front of her again. Kyoko looked around with a startled facial expression, before feeling Risa quickly strike her in the face multiple times with scorching hot punches that had immense amounts of psychic power in them. and Kyoko even felt herself heavily get pushed in different directions from Risa hitting her with this fusion of fiery punches that mixed with psychic energy. The pain was at quite a high level, as Kyoko coughed up some more blood, and all the pain Kyoko felt from the Psychic's Dark Magenta Burning Rei spell definitely wasn't an illusion.
The evil princess felt startled by Risa's power to where all that she could do was use Psychic Magic to quickly levitate herself to her decimated throne, only to see Risa quickly emerge from the shadows of the throne's ashes while still looking enraged, and the dark magenta aura surrounding her body seemed like it grew larger. Kyoko felt like she had no other option left, and she used the Psychic Wrath spell at full power to create a massive cerise pink beam of psychic energy. It quickly split into eight smaller beams that were still large enough to do deadly amounts of damage when they hit their target, and Kyoko ran towards Risa while seeing her create a dark magenta sphere in her right hand while it alternated between that color and the regular shade of magenta. The sphere was even eerily casting shadows that slowly moved outward, and the bright beams that came towards Risa were immediately repelled when the sphere became its regular magenta color. This spell was simply known as Psychic Magenta's Shadowy Judgement of Heaven and Hell, due to the alternating colors associating with the lesser and more dangerous effects. Upon seeing the sphere changing to its darker shade of magenta, Risa loudly snarled in her emotionally berserk state while making slashing motions with her left hand. She slashed at the air in front of Kyoko, her Psychic Magic being strong enough to immobilize with her with its strength while she also slashed the space around the beams to make them be in a dark magenta color, and Kyoko soon felt a large slash be dealt to the part of her face where she had previously screamed about a bleeding bruise.
The pain from that slash only made five lines of blood slowly trickle down her face, but that was nothing compared to being struck by all of her repelled beams that disturbingly moved towards Kyoko's slow-moving shadow. They all ended up striking her to create massive cerise pink blasts, before making Kyoko's skin be more charred, and the harsh burns made her scream in immense pain. Kyoko could only slightly open her eyes during the bright blasts, and she quickly saw Risa appear in front of her to strike her with a powerful uppercut to her chin. Kyoko was sent flying high into the air, before Risa aggressively jumped up into the air to grab Kyoko by her legs, and Risa swung Kyoko over her head right before aggressively throwing her down to where Kyoko slammed into a part of the wall that was between two portraits of her looking quite arrogant. That was an ironic contrast from Kyoko now weakly stood up with her hands stretched out in front of her body in a defensive manner, blood dripping from her wounds while the burns on her body were so painful to where she didn't want Risa burning her down into a pile of ashes.
"That's... that's enough. Risa Ryusei, we don't need to fight anymore. I'm... I'm not able to fully heal myself, so I order you to stop!" Kyoko told Risa in a fearful tone, seeming to be saying whatever she could to hopefully save her own life.
Risa exclaimed with immense anger in her voice, rage and tears in her eyes from how her emotions kept intertwining with her thoughts, "YOU KILLED SARA IN FRONT OF ME, STOMPED ON HER LIKE SHE WAS TRASH, PUT ME THROUGH YEARS OF HELL, AND NOW YOU KILLED ROGUE! KYOKO, YOU'LL DIE HERE!"
"Whatever spell she plans on using, it's scary how Risa Ryusei has known exactly how these new spells work. She's not just being guided by Sara's magenta magic, but it's like the shadows have given her this dark power." Kyoko thought to herself while looking extremely afraid, stepping back as the dark magenta aura around Risa's body grew much larger.
Yukino thought to herself with a concerned look on her face, as her hazel eyes noticed more than just Risa's eyes having a magenta color, "Risa-sama can access her magenta magic's psychic ability of knowing how the spell's wrong, but something's wrong. I've never seen shadows cover half of a mage's body, and I've never seen Risa-sama be so vicious."
Risa shouted with the feeling of vengeance in her voice, running towards Kyoko at high speeds to quickly be in front of her, "EIGHTH SPELL OF MY SHADOWY PSYCHIC MAGIC, HELP ME TAKE DOWN THIS EVIL PRINCESS!"
Kyoko thought to herself with a frown of experiencing failure on her face, bloody and bruised with severe burns on her body as she used the last of her Psychic Magic to run towards the balcony in a weakened state right before turning around to see Risa charge at her with a sphere in many shades of pink in her right hand, "Sara Hoshiakari.. I am no match for this girl... She's much stronger than me, and... probably even surpassed a notorious mage such as you."
Risa was definitely proving to be Sara's disciple who truly outshined her with the magenta-colored spells of Psychic Magic, and she activated her final spell that was known as Light Magenta's Psychic Radiance From The Pink Shadows. Risa watched the dark magenta aura create an orb in her right hand, the orb being in the dark magenta color, and Risa angrily snarled at Kyoko while the orb became light magenta with thin beams of that color shining from it, and it soon became a normal shade of magenta. Then, the orb became a plain shade of pink right before it changed to be in a bubblegum shade of pink that was followed by the fuchsia and cerise shades of pink. The orb even became hot pink, and it ended the surprising shades of pink with the rosewood hue of pink. Afterwards, it kept cycling through that sequence of pink variants while the thin beams of light emanating from the sphere also quickly changed to match the sphere's changing shades of pink.
Even the aura around Risa's body began to change into being all the different shades of pink, and she felt quite powerful from simply making this spell appear. The attack's light shined quite brightly to where it almost obscured what the townspeople could see on the Lacrima Vision screen, and the high amount of brightness made a plentiful amount of black shadows quickly infuse themselves into the sphere. The moment that the last shadow went into the sphere for the pink light to shine brighter in multiple shades was when Risa ran forward to get close to Kyoko, and Risa aggressively grabbed Kyoko's right wrist with her left hand while making her long fingernails slash at Kyoko's skin to wound her.
Kyoko screamed in pain, unable to even think of using a healing spell in these few seconds, and Risa slammed the sphere against Kyoko's chest to see its light rotating like a pinwheel while its radiance was immensely bright. The force of this attack created nine massive blasts that were in all nine shades of pink that Risa had in her mind, and the powerful Psychic Magic even made the glass of seven windows instantly shatter. Risa watched the fourth window have four cracks in it while hearing the glass start to break, almost as if the Psychic Magic giving its glass some durability couldn't endure this level of power, and Risa pushed her exploding orb forward to where her hand became a fist that brutally punched Kyoko through the cracking glass of that fourth window. Everyone was shocked to see Kyoko be sent flying up into the air with the psychic spell's aftereffect making her levitate for about thirty seconds, and she came down to harshly crash into the balcony with some shards of glass making deep cuts on her body while the evil princess coughed up some blood.
"Risa-sama... You have that much power." Yukino stated aloud with amazed facial expression, as she looked at Risa to see her feral and somewhat blank stare as the rest of that window's glass loudly broke.
Kyoko weakly stated aloud, as she had several severe bloody wounds and harsh bruises on her body with her burns being in various shades of pink, "I... I can't... move."
Cordelia told everyone in a stern manner, as Kyoko's wounded face appeared in the Lacrima Vision screens with her eyes slowly closing and her vision getting hazy, "Attention, all psychic wizards! Nazuna and I will just go inspect the damage, but you all must stay out here after healing us!"
As the psychic wizards obediently nodded and approached the two women with healing spells, the townspeople gasped in shock from how Risa's pink aura that changed shades soon created an energy wave that spread outward in multiple shades of pink. It affected the bodies of Risa and Rogue, seeming to be healing them, but hearing one final snarl from Risa as she was still in a berserk state made Yukino quickly get Libra's gold key out of her skirt. Risa's emotions made her still be consumed by rage over Rogue dying to where she dashed towards Kyoko's body, but she suddenly screamed in pain after feeling a certain black-haired spirit immobilize her with gravity. Risa turned to Yukino, who simply pointed at her for Libra to make gravity weigh down on her. As Yukino kept Risa immobilized, she watched Sting and Lucy suddenly come through the front doors with astounded looks on their faces while they had regained consciousness and recovered enough energy to finally get here. Upon seeing Rogue's unconscious body in the heavily damaged throne room, Sting ran over to his friend's side while Lucy quickly ran over to see Risa acting quite berserk from the dark shade of magenta's Psychic Magic showing one of its dangerous side effects pertaining to intense amounts of emotion.
Risa tried moving towards Kyoko's dying body, uttering some angry words about how that wasn't enough damage for the stomach wound from those blasts to be exactly as large as Sara's fatal wound, and just thinking of Sara's smiling face made Risa start to run faster through the gravity's pressure being forced down on her. That only made Yukino increase the gravity, causing Risa to now be laying flat on her stomach with a heavy amount of weight on her body, and it seemed like Yukino was restraining Risa from going past revenge to the madness of Kyoko's thorough belief of justice. Yukino watched Lucy start to frown at her in a stern manner, before giving her a thumbs-up at how she'd now be the one to quell Risa's immense rage towards Kyoko.
Lucy shared Yukino's feelings of not wanting Risa to thoroughly wound her opponent any further, as creating a similar or even more painful stomach wound to avenge Sara would only make Risa have excessive blood literally be on her hands. Hitting Kyoko in the chest with that massive spell and punching her quite harshly earlier in the fight, as well as slashing at her skin with nails or burning-hot flames were all fair actions from Yukino's perspective while only getting to see the evil princess finally dying made Lucy view this fight to truly be over. However, Risa taking this conflict any further while blinded by rage meant that Yukino and Lucy had to stop her. Lucy soon ran towards the pink-haired girl, before Yukino sternly told Libra to release her gravity, and the moment that gravity was lifted off Risa was when Lucy tackled her down to end this situation. Lucy soon had Risa in a tight and friendly hug, before wincing in pain at how her berserk teammate viciously bit into her skin with her fanged teeth while screaming words of rage, and Lucy had to calm her down. She could see the feeling of pain in Risa's magenta's eyes, which seemed like worse pain than the wound Risa just dealt to Lucy's left shoulder.
"Risa, you won the fight! It's over! It ended! Risa, stop this! It's over now!" Lucy sternly told her with a fierce facial expression while holding Risa tightly, not caring about her bleeding shoulder right now.
Risa responded in an enraged tone, angrily seeing Kyoko's eyes still open while her lips weakly moved, "KYOKO KILLED SARA! SHE KILLED SOMEONE WHO WAS SO KIND TO ME! SHE KILLED ROGUE, TOO! THAT EVIL PRINCESS IS MY HORRIBLE ENEMY! SHE SHOULD DIE WITH A WOUND TO THE STOMACH LIKE HOW SARA DIED IN FRONT OF ME!"
Lucy loudly shouted with small tears in her eyes, as she put her knees on Risa's legs to restrain her, "RISA, SHE CAN'T HURT YOU ANYMORE! RISA, STOP!"
Yelling that command like a princess with so much authority in her voice not only surprised Lucy, but it made Risa's eyes change back to being cherry red while her hair became its normal shade of pink again. Her teeth and fingernails returned the normal, the aura around her body beginning to fade away, and Risa weakly coughed up some blood while the sight of Lucy starting to kindly smile changed to Risa seeing the flashback of Sara nicely smiling at her on the first day they met many years ago. That thought only lasted for a few seconds, but the brief image of Lucy supposedly being her kind and awesome teacher was enough to free Risa from those feelings of vengeance and rage.
Risa soon broke away from Lucy's hug with an anxious look on her face, and she watched Lucy smile at her in a comforting manner. Lucy looked around to see all the flames and craters left behind from this fight, as well as noticing how all the broken windows and hearing sounds of portraits falling off the walls. She smiled a bit at how Risa must've fought Kyoko with so much intensity in her emotions, as Lucy was more curious and impressed instead of being frightened from all the dark magenta and other pink flames in this room.
Lucy got her knees off of Risa's legs to help her stand up, but the sight of the lightning-wielding mage simply smiling in a victorious manner made Risa turn her head away from Lucy while frowning with a scared facial expression. Risa seemed to be shuddering in fear from that magic, as well as her thoughts of Rogue being dead on the ground, and tears fell from Risa's eyes as she felt like this fight wasn't a victory if even a berserk form of Psychic Magic didn't help her save Rogue's life. Risa especially kept herself turned away from his body, ignoring how his left hand lightly twitched with white clouds of steam sizzling up from his wounds that were probably healing as one of her final spell's aftereffects that pertained to one of the pink shades of magic.
"Risa, I'm sorry that we weren't here in time to help you save Rogue. He would've probably loved to see how Kyoko's dying with such fatal wounds, which is her karma for wrongly killing Sara." Lucy told Risa with an apologetic frown on her face, gently patting her back as she watched Risa cry more tears of grief.
That only made Risa reply in a regretful tone, "My healing magic should've been stronger for me to save him. Lucy, even the magenta color of Psychic Magic wasn't-"
"Ugh... Sting? When did you... get here? Did I... just pass out instead... of dying? What happened... to Risa?" A certain shadow dragon slayer surprisingly asked in a very groggy tone, as he slowly opened his eyes to see his friend squatting down by his side with a calm smile on his face.
Those questions coming from his voice made Risa tearfully put her hands over her mouth, and she turned around slowly to see that her friend was alive. Risa chose to not speak, as she didn't want to say anything while he spoke to truly confirm that wasn't an illusory effect created by her last spell, and seeing Sting turn around to smile at her in a joyful manner from Rogue being alive simply made Risa run towards the shadow dragon slayer with her remaining small amount of magical power applied to her feet. Risa ran over to Rogue's side with tears of sadness now changing to tears of happiness that fell from her eyes, and Risa knelt down by his side to just hug him tightly while letting out her emotional cries at this situation.
One hour later...
Risa's emotional crying finally ceased while she ended the hug with Rogue, as he probably wanted to breathe easier without her tight hug suffocating him, and the psychic wizard slowly stood up. She watched Rogue also stand up, seeing him start to kindly smile at her, and Risa got to see Rogue's smile slowly shift into being a much prouder grin. He wasn't just happy that Risa healed his wounds earlier with her magic, but seeing Kyoko's eyes be shut after she was heavily wounded enough to die simply meant that Risa finally avenged Sara.
Rogue was very happy that Risa managed to find the strength to push through her trauma, which made him be quite glad that Yukino informed him of how Risa's last spell made her fist have a powerful punch that pushed Kyoko through a glass window after her orb created so many enormous blasts, and Risa had truly conquered the problems from her past to be a much stronger person now. He gently hugged Risa while Rogue also got to hear Lucy and Sting let out celebratory cheers, but that hug soon made everyone hear much louder cheering.
Risa walked towards the balcony with Rogue to see that all of Parmanie Town's citizens were happily cheering for them, many of the people even giving Risa a nice title for her to be known as Princess Risa, and the pink orb was still shining for it to record Risa walking out to the balcony while Kyoko's body was laying on the pink tiled ground behind her. Risa waved down to all of the people who perceived her as their new princess, and she even giggled happily from some of the male mages loudly claiming that she made that showdown of Psychic Magic be excellent.
Risa continued to just satisfy the citizens by accepting their praises, but the loud sounds of the throne room's doors shutting soon got everyone's attention. Risa left the balcony with Rogue to see Cordelia enter the room with Nazuna by her side, which made Risa start looking a bit anxious from recalling Nazuna's warning about how she'd be captured if she caused any trouble, and she started to make her eyes only focus on Cordelia. The older psychic mage smiled nicely at her, before Nazuna simply gave Risa a respectful smile from seeing her fight so well with Psychic Magic, and Risa shared Rogue's feelings about how she truly pushed through her trauma to make Parmanie seem like a better town where everyone could be happy.
"As the new princess, my first official law is going to involve changing the classist rules that Kyoko and the other royals put in place to make the poor and the privileged people have conflicts towards each other about caring more for social status instead of wanting to truly help each other in different ways." Risa optimistically stated with a happy smile on her face, before giggling at that plan.
Nazuna stated to Risa with a calm frown on her face, as she folded her arms, "It's a nice law, but you can't make anything official. Risa Ryusei, that battle against Kyoko was an unofficial fight with no resident of Parmanie acting as a referee. Secondly, there was also no prize involved for it to be official."
Lucy asked Nazuna while looking curious, recalling something that Risa told her when she was discussing her past, "Excuse me, but can't Risa be a princess or queen by just fighting someone and making Kyoko's legendary ring from the past be the easy prize for her to keep or freely give to someone?"
"You're halfway correct. Risa Ryusei can challenge anyone to an official fight, and winning would give her the title of being a princess. If she wins, she must keep the ring that boosts Psychic Magic while choosing whether or not to wear it. If she loses, her opponent gets the title of prince or princess and keeps the ring. Of course, other rules still stand. Since Risa killed the current queen, she can now decide to fight anyone in Fiore. We can even contact someone from a faraway guild, if that's necessary for her sole decision." Nazuna explained to the group in a calm manner, some sternness in her eyes at the fairest rules needing to be upheld.
The thought of Risa fighting someone from a far-off guild made Sting wonder if his friend would want to fight Kagura Mikazuchi, the woman who was presumably the strongest mage in the Mermaid Heel guild, and a strong woman using an incredibly powerful sheathed sword as a weapon against psychic power could probably make this royal battle be very entertaining. Sting wanted to suggest that to his friend who had heard about last year's Grand Magic Games, but this was entirely Risa's decision to make. Risa slowly closed her eyes while thinking about how Sara would've been happy to physically be here for this moment if she were still alive, but there was nothing she could do about that.
Still, Risa smiled nicely while she could feel that Sara would be pleased with her decision. Not only did Risa manage to make amends for how Sara couldn't teach her to physically use the magenta spells of Psychic Magic at a later time like how she promised to do many years ago, but Risa also ran into a great person who had unknowingly been giving her small bits of confidence that she really needed for her to bravely fight against Kyoko. Risa couldn't thank them enough for that, as that person was truly as determined as Sara when it came to fighting hard to accomplish their goals.
Risa smiled softly while thinking more about how this person also fought with strategy in mind, as that was such a cool and creative way to win fights when powerful magic on its own wouldn't suffice, and Sara would've probably given Risa the important lesson of how she could only grow more powerful by going up against the strongest mages. Also, fighting against a powerful opponent would most likely give Risa a good bit of preparation for anyone who wanted to assassinate her as a way of taking away her title. Risa had to be a powerful psychic princess to help and lead her people, but she opened her eyes while smiling more at how she needed to first prove to Nazuna and Cordelia that she could even make a crucial decision that might make them deem her worthy of being the next princess. In fact, Risa imagined Sara also smiling in approval at her decision like a third judge who was proud of her choice.
"Master Sara taught me many wonderful things before she died, and she was a strong mage who I looked up to while I was a rookie with Psychic Magic. I'm now the rookie in the Sabertooth guild, regardless if someone joined after me. Master Sara would be proud of seeing me take my first major steps today to walk on the path to becoming Parmanie's princess, and she would be even prouder to see that my opponent will be the person who's also wanting to fulfill a great goal right now." Risa explained to everyone with a happy smile on her face, as her eyes slowly shifted to look at a certain person while placing her hands near her heart.
Nazuna asked Risa with a curious look on her face, eager to hear her decision, "Oh? Who will you fight in the ceremonial battle for your title and the ring, Risa Ryusei?"
Risa replied nicely to Nazuna, before looking away from her and speaking to a certain protagonist, "The person who I will fight tomorrow in the ceremonial battle for the crown, the title, and the ring is someone who's proven to be quite strong when fighting powerful pop idols or greedy guild masters who were as vicious as a certain priestess while this certain person also made my life be exciting. Just like on that first day where Master Sara and I met, Miss Nazuna, the first day where I met this person was also very great for me. That's why I firmly believe it's fitting for us to have a joyous battle. I challenge you for my town's title of princess and the ring, Lucy Heartfilia!"
That prompted Lucy to simply reply with a confident smile on her face, glad that Risa wanted to make the ceremonial battle be a joyous one for reasons pertaining to her good motives and thoughts of Sara, "I gladly accept your challenge, Risa! Show me how strong you truly are! Having to defeat my best friend to get the ring will be interesting, but I'll be glad to take you on and win!"
Sting and Rogue both asked Risa simultaneously, looking astounded, "What?!"
Sting turned to Lucy while wondering if she was serious about this, but he stopped looking concerned from seeing the confidence in Lucy's smile. She wasn't being arrogant or underestimating Risa, but Lucy probably wanted to fight a strong mage as a way of preparing herself for her eventual fated battle against Kotomi Takeuchi. Lucy would definitely be that smart to think so far ahead, as she did need to get much stronger for her own situation involving payback, and the recent tie against Shizue and Miru proved that Lucy would have to learn some wisdom from her battles against Psychic Magic before wielding it.
Sting looked at Risa, who seemed to use more power than wisdom in her attacks when she didn't apply Psychic Magic to her eyes as a way to foresee spells, and he hoped that his rookie mage wouldn't let herself get defeated easily or end up doing anything to humiliate herself in a crucial battle such as this one. Sting watched Risa walk towards Lucy with a smile on her face that showed just as much confidence, and he definitely respected Risa's decision. This was also a battle where killing could be allowed, but two Sabertooth mages fighting would make the use of fatal force be prohibited when Sting was around.
That would be fine with Lucy and Risa, who were both looking eager to fight against each other, and neither woman planned to back down. Lucy started thinking about how winning against Risa would allow her to obtain the fourth ring that was necessary for reversing the curse of Kotomi's ancient spell, and Risa strongly began to think about how winning this battle would allow her to become the princess who could make Parmanie Town be a prosperous place to match its beautiful color. Despite having these different goals, Lucy and Risa both stretched out their hands for a friendly handshake while their eyes showed a bit of fierceness at how this was going to be a serious battle.
"Tomorrow, show me how cool you are!" Lucy and Risa stated simultaneously to each other in a confident manner, looking forward to their fight as they shook hands with each other to make the crowd cheer even more.
How was Chapter 30? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on it. Risa has finally reached the top of the tower, and she definitely had quite a psychotic fight against Kyoko. The death of Kyoko can help Risa finally be at peace, but there is still the dilemma of Parmanie Town needing a new princess who would choose whether or not to wield that ring. Also, let me explain something about the magenta-colored Psychic Magic. It can only fuse with certain types of magic, and Risa can't easily access that magic unless her emotions are intense enough. Secondly, Lucy and Sting recovered from their fight around the first moment where Risa went berserk. Anyway, this is the ninth part of the Fuchsia Psychic Arc! It will be interesting to see what happens in the final chapter of this story, especially since a certain emotional plot point with Risa will have a nice conclusion. I'll update soon. :)
REVIEWS!
FireBlitz: Thanks!
OrangeDetermination: Thank you! To answer your question, I do think Miru or Shizue would be able to fight Kanata for a long period of time. Taking the other cultists into consideration is a factor, though. However, Miru and Shizue working together would give them a victory against Kanata from foreseeing her lightning attacks and how they work.
