Chapter 39: The Fierce Clash of Dangerous Winds & Psychic Power! Dark Magenta Magic's Fusion Spells Bend Space In The Winds of Conflict! Risa vs. Yaeko!
Risa maintained her fierce facial expression while building up a high amount of magical power for a magenta pink aura to surround her body, and she simply glared at Yaeko. The antagonist had three auras in different shades of green engulfing her body, which meant that she was definitely giving herself a massive boost in power, and Risa watched her start to run at insanely high speeds! She appeared to be gaining speed from running through the winds the blew around her, inhaling the air, and Yaeko ended up jumping much higher than any of the previous times where she jumped on the air.
Yaeko was now having a good aerial view of the people who were below her, primarily focusing her eyes on Risa, and she fired a moss green sphere from her mouth. That spell was called Botanical Moss Cannon Shot, and the sphere had moss green sparkles floating around it in midair to resemble a pinwheel. That beautiful spell was followed up with an attack called Zephyr Slash, and the spell simply made the air around Yaeko become forest green. That forest green color of air coated her hands and feet, giving her sharp claws and talons like a harpy, but Yaeko aimed downward to slash at her own spell. Forest green crescent waves of air surrounded her spell while one final slash cut the sphere in half, and that caused the moss green sphere to explode! Its waves of air went down towards Risa in the form of a forest green cyclone that spun at rapid speeds while the air currents from the explosion made the scythe blades fall towards Risa in the form of spiraling beams, and this fusion spell was called Mossy Botanical Breezy Blade.
Risa activated Stellar Psi to make herself swerve to the left in midair, only to see Yaeko's fusion spell curve to strike her from the right side at fast speeds while a moss green explosion occurred in midair, and Risa screamed in pain. She was propelled upwards while the beams were controlled by Yaeko's hand movements to flawlessly follow her commands of targeting Risa, and the beams absorbed the moss green energy to become more powerful. The beams curved to go past Risa, before striking her in a bombardment of windy attacks from multiple directions in a rapid and successive formation for her to let out more pained screams, and the moss green blasts that occurred in midair gave off a tremendous amount of green light.
That light blinded Risa to where she ended up falling down on to the Sky Garden Cloud that Haruna was on, but even being badly bruised wouldn't keep her from winning. Risa activated the Gleaming Magenta Psi Aurora spell, causing her to be surrounded by a magenta pink sphere of psychic energy, and Risa also activated a new spell called Radiant Magenta Psychic Luxe. The spell made a magenta pink beam be fired from within the sphere while it had cerise pink sparkles spiraling around it, and going through Risa's sphere only boosted both colors of the beam to where they prominently shined. Risa smiled at the sight of the spell that had come from her right hand, and she moved her right hand downward before hastily making it curve upward to gain a springing amount of speed.
That also gave it more power while Risa waited for the beam to be at a much higher altitude, and she activated the effect of the Gleaming Magenta Psi Aurora spell to make all its magenta pink waves go outward. As they specifically went upward, the waves propelled Risa's other spell up towards Yaeko at high speeds. The antagonist watched Risa's spell explode to create a bright burst of magenta light and cerise pink light while it only made the air strangely be in those colors of pink, and that distracted Yaeko from the waves of psychic energy suddenly gaining more power to where they could strike her with immense amounts of Psychic Magic. She ended up being engulfed in several magenta pink explosions that occurred around her, before they became cerise pink with the strange aftereffect of generating a high amount of heat from the explosions. As Yaeko screamed in pain from feeling Risa's psychic waves bombard her like a form of payback, Haruna watched Risa pant heavily after using the fusion spell known as Radiant Gleaming Magenta Psychotic Aurora Luxe. She seemed exhausted, even with a magenta aura engulfing her hands.
"You don't have to push yourself so hard to protect me, Risa. Even if your emotions philosophy of caring more others means that I shouldn't be selfish, depending on you will be futile if you exhaust yourself." Haruna explained to Risa with a concerned manner, thinking about their individual lives.
Risa replied to her with a confident facial expression while panting, glad that she recalled the side effect of Radiant Magenta Psychic Luxe, "My emotions fuel my Psychic Magic, Haruna. If I feel more emotional, then I can unleash stronger spells. That applies to fusion spells, and keeping you from dying requires me to unleash some strong attacks."
"Well, just make sure that you don't overdo it with all of those advanced attacks for your fusion spells. As a psychic wizard, try to at least have some wisdom with thinking about your moves." Haruna told Risa with a somewhat worried look on her face, hoping that Risa wouldn't do anything crazy.
Risa told Haruna with a snarky facial expression, sounding quite sarcastic as the pink currents of air came towards them, "Yeah, I'm totally not thinking ahead."
Risa proceeded to inhale the pink streams of air, absorbing their power right before she activated a spell called Magenta Psychic Glamorous Flames, and Risa quickly shot out a magenta pink stream of flames from her mouth. The flames came from a small magenta sphere that formed in Risa's mouth while the pink air was still in it, almost like her explosive spell reacted to the hot air, and Risa created a whirlpool-like stream with the flames that were only magenta pink on the lower half of the stream. The higher half had flames that were cerise pink because of the cerise air currents and cerise sparkles, but Risa's next fusion spell involved the magenta pink aura around her hands. She aimed them both at the spiraling attack that went up towards Yaeko, who was moving in different directions to avoid falling out of the sky, and Risa activated a spell called Magenta Teleportation Trick. She fired a magenta pink orb at her flaming attack, watching the orb hit a flame for the spell to follow Risa's thought of warping it right in front of Yaeko while the flames heightened their roaring fire, and the fusion spell known as Magenta Cerise Psychic Warping Inferno detonated when they managed to slightly burn Yaeko! They instantly dispersed in a warping manner, before striking her from above and below while some explosions made the fire of other blasts have flames that continued to grow.
Yaeko looked quite pained from dealing with Risa's unexpected attack, as she had been trying to see how the pink air would affect her spells, and she let out several screams from feeling the flames burn her skin. The fact that they were warping at such high speeds to strike her in the air made Yaeko ignore her bruises and bloody wounds, though, and she aimed her moss green Wind Magic down at the second half of the town's forest that had some moss green leaves in that section. Her winds blew several leaves off of the trees, as well as the mossy green rocks, and Yaeko purposely used her Wind Magic to blow clusters of leaves on to five clouds. Once the leaves landed on the Sky Garden Clouds and changed them to be in a moss green color from being infused with a high amount of magic, Yaeko unleashed a small forest green vortex from her left hand. The vortex soon became mint green from how Yaeko made it go up towards natural winds, but she soon aimed it down at the four clouds that formed a square near the cloud where Risa was standing with Haruna.
The sight of that spell prompted Risa to inhale more of the pink air currents, allowing the magenta pink and cerise auras to surround her body while she made a light pink aura also be around her, and she quickly activated Stellar Psi to propel herself away from that area with several kicks of psychic energy that made her bounce in a zigzag path through the air. That wouldn't stop Yaeko's small vortex, which quickly landed in the center of those four clouds to lightly bounce upward right before it repeatedly bounced on the moss green clouds to absorb power from them. After absorbing their power and becoming moss green, the vortex grew four times its size to almost be as big as Kaze's Aerial Twister. However, its size didn't make its speed be any less deadly. The fast-moving spell sprang up from touching the fourth cloud for the final time, and it soon jumped on the air currents that weren't pink. It gained power in Wind Magic from those air currents while Risa's psychic-infused paths of air created barriers of psychic energy that only a stronger fusion spell could tear through to eliminate them, but the advantages mattered more to Yaeko than the disadvantages right now.
She smirked evilly while moving her right hand to control the vortex, and constantly making the motion of something springing in midair caused her vortex to jump on the air several times! That propelled it in several directions while massively boosting its speed, and the fusion spell known as Mossy Cloud Springs of The Ascending Sky Tower struck Risa in the stomach right before creating a powerful explosion of Wind Magic! She coughed up blood, before screaming from the immense amount of pain that she was feeling, and the heavy winds slammed air pressure against her body multiple times. Risa continued to scream in pain, but even the blast fading away couldn't stop her from being caught in an air current that Yaeko fired from her left hand to pull Risa closer to her. As soon as Risa got in front of her, Yaeko made her Wind Magic bring up more clumps of moss green leaves from the forest. She crushed them in her hands that were still clawed, making the moss green aura around her claws grow much larger while the forest green aura could also prominently be seen, and Yaeko even absorbed wind into her hands for what seemed like a close-range fusion spell. However, she decided to rudely laugh at how Risa was battered and had blood dripping from multiple wounds in different areas of her body.
"No matter how tactical and emotional you want to be, the sky is my territory! A mage such as me, Yaeko Hanabuki, deserves the privilege of being in the air! Unlike me and my Wind Magic that comes from the air near the heavens, you psychic mages are inferior by only using your minds to make yourselves disgustingly not be on the ground where you belong!" Yaeko rudely told Risa with a heckling look on her face, before using her left hand to aggressively grab Risa by her long hair.
Risa replied to Yaeko in a sarcastic manner while frowning and breathing heavily, "If you're so much stronger than me... and call yourself a user of Wind Magic, then... how can it not puzzle me as to why I'm... dealing with someone who can wield energy from plants?"
"Well, it looks like I have to tell you this. Although, my little analysis from all my research won't be useful when you're dead. I can control Plant Magic and Wind Magic as a great reward for consuming the hybrid plants made from those types of magic. That also applies to drinking matcha green tea, which can have the aromas of regular mossy plants and hybrid mossy plants become stronger with Wind Magic and Plant Magic infused into them." Yaeko explained to Risa in an arrogant manner, before smirking.
Yaeko continued her heckling with an overconfident look in her face, thinking that emotions could never outweigh logic, "Against my constantly-shifting air currents and the plants fully being bent to my will to where you can't manipulate them, your magenta Psychic Magic is utterly useless against me! You'll soon die, and then Haruna will die before that little girl with the Sound Magic also dies to get their dirty hair color out of my sight."
Risa told Yaeko in a determined and somewhat dark tone of emotion in her voice, as she looked down to briefly see something other than how her hands faintly had the magenta aura remaining for one last use of Stellar Psi, "If you can make the wind shift, then.. I can make thoughts and emotions shift.. to a level of Psychic Magic that bends things just like how it bends.. to the will of how I'm angry enough to where I want to kill someone as discriminatory as you."
As Yaeko prepared to strike Risa with her next fusion spell, curiosity entered her eyes from seeing Risa's psychic power make the shadows of the auras engulfing Yaeko's right hand start to rise up from a Sky Garden Cloud that was starting to float underneath the spot where Yaeko stood on the air. The antagonist watched the shadows of the auras float up to get in front of Risa, who inhaled them while creating a small magenta sphere in her mouth, and Yaeko saw Risa inhale the shadows for them to mix with her magic. They certainly fused with her Psychic Magic's healing properties, as all of her wounds started to be fully healed with the added effect of the sphere in her mouth becoming dark magenta, and the left half of Risa's body started to become a black shadow.
That wasn't as surprising to Yaeko as the sight of Risa's hair becoming dark magenta, which was only recorded in Yaeko's research on how Risa's power became different when she was angered, and Risa's fingernails grew sharper. She soon slashed the air current away with her hands, before aggressively jumping on the air towards Yaeko as if she was giving Stellar Psi power from this shade of her Psychic Magic. Risa's feet made her be propelled upward while she left behind a powerful gust of Psychic Magic that repelled Yaeko away from her, and being propelled very high into the air made Risa get ready for activating her next fusion spell.
Her preparation was interrupted by Yaeko firing the Kaze's Aerial Twister spell down at some of her own air currents to make a forest green blast occur in midair, doing that as a way to push herself upward with more air for her to bounce off of at higher speeds, and Yaeko got past the shock of seeing Risa's magic to strike her in the face with her right hand that had been building up magic from her combo. She struck Risa with a point-blank punch that was thrown at insanely high speeds to where it tore through the air itself to hit Risa while a large rotating ring of leaves surrounded her fist, and the sunlight made the moss green leaves brightly shine in their color. The leaves were radiant right after the punch, and they increased the speed of Yaeko's movements to where her fist made a massive gust of wind smash into Risa in the form of a forest green blast right before the ring of leaves created a dark green explosion at point-blank range that had more explosions occur within it because of the sunlight in the sky. Yaeko had combined the spell known as Mossy Green Chlorophyll Punch with Windy Mach Strike to create Mossy Green Windstorm Punch, and she smiled with confidence about a possible victory now being an absolute fact while the clouds of smoke went away.
The forest green clouds and moss green clouds of Yaeko's magic faded away for her to see that Risa was gone, not even falling down to the ground right now, and that made Yaeko start to look quite shocked. She looked around to see if Risa had teleported to a different part of the sky at the last second, not wanting her fusion spell to be dodged and disrespected so easily by someone who wielded magic that didn't naturally allow her to fly. Yaeko didn't see Risa jumping on any air currents or going through the air by flying, and that made her start to sternly frown while feeling some anxiety.
Yaeko was anxious enough from the fight's tension to where she pulled a beaker out of her forest green lab coat's left pocket, and she glanced at the forest green chemical mixture of moss green plants fusing with other plants pertaining to her types of magic while taking off the mint green cork. The Wind Magic and Plant Magic were mixed in with matcha green plants, too, and the chemical solution that had matcha green tea bubbles coming up from the beaker's hole seemed to have a sweet cent. The sweet aroma appealed to a researcher like Yaeko, since she viewed aromas as scents related to flair, and she proceeded to drink the contents of the beaker. The beaker quickly lost most of its chemical mixture, as Yaeko guzzled most of it down like she was consuming an herbal tea filled with addictive alcohol. Guzzling down the chemical mixture made Yaeko sigh with relief from how it quickly alleviated her of the anxiety from the tension, but making herself feel complacent right now wasn't the best idea.
She couldn't feel comfortable from seeing Risa emerge up from the black shadow of a Sky Garden Cloud that was floating on an air current below her with some of those higher clouds casting shadows, and Risa jumped up to now be in front of Yaeko without any bruises on her body. She kicked the air several times in different directions to jump quite far while confounding Yaeko with her high speed that made winds heavily blow through the skies, and Yaeko couldn't even punch Risa when she got close to her because of how Risa's body vanished to look like a dark magenta silhouette resembling a shadow. Risa's shadowy strategy even made Yaeko move through the air multiple times to hopefully strike her, only to end up punching or aggressively kicking Risa's silhouette that was in a dark shade of magenta, and continuing to also confound Yaeko with high speed from the dark magenta aura surrounding her body was a smart tactic for Risa to quickly appear from a Sky Garden Cloud directly underneath Yaeko's position in the sky before another Sky Garden Cloud's shadow fully passed over the antagonist.
Risa jumped up high to be in front of Yaeko again, before building up more power for the dark magenta aura to even make the sphere in her mouth grow much larger, and the sphere began to have dark magenta beams of light shining from it. That prompted Risa to fire that attack at Yaeko, who quickly jumped backwards to dodge it while firmly putting the cork back on the beaker that she returned to her lab coat's pocket, and Risa followed up with the spell called Magenta's Glittering Psychic Dark Flares. That spell caused Risa to fire a large ring of glittery dark magenta flames from her mouth, and Yaeko noticed how Risa didn't even seem to aim at her. The flames ended up striking the dark magenta sphere, which was part of a spell called Dark Magenta Psi Ritual, and the collision created an inferno of dark magenta flames that glittered in midair.
The burst of dark magenta fire was soon split into four smaller conflagrations, and three of them contained flames that were converging to combine their energy in an effort to recreate of the dark magenta sphere. Those flames were successful at that task while the orbs psychically moved through the air to obey Risa's thoughts about forming a square around Yaeko. Yaeko watched Risa inhale some of the spare flames, before inhaling the cerise pink air currents that still lightly lingered, and Risa spat out four cerise pink flames for them to form a small diamond around Yaeko while they were also within the square formed by the flame-covered orbs. This fusion spell definitely made Yaeko feel like Risa was trying to make her magical power possibly get reduced from excessive heat, but Risa had a better idea for her fusion spell.
"Magenta's Shimmering Dark Ritual of Mystic Psychic Flames!" Risa aggressively shouted with a fierce facial expression while absorbing one of the flames into her right hand.
Yaeko thought to herself with a disgruntled look on her face, groaning as she currently didn't have enough magical power left for creating a shield of air before unleashing her last powerful attack, "I don't have enough energy left for more than one spell, and I got so caught up in fighting this girl to where I spent too much time being a showoff with the flair of my spells."
"You may care immensely about the beauty of your spells, but they're definitely hideous to think about when they're wielded by a disgusting person like you!" Risa stated fiercely while having the look of tremendous strength in her eyes, using her Psychic Magic to read Yaeko's thoughts right before she clapped her hands.
When Risa clapped her hands together with the dark magenta aura surrounding them, the cerise pink flames exploded in the formation of a diamond to create enormous cerise pink blasts that spread outward. Those blasts soon touched the dark magenta orbs that had flames in their color around them, and those orbs detonated to create massive explosions that went inward towards Yaeko in the formation of a square's corners converging together on the middle part of the ritual area. The dark magenta explosions that touched Yaeko ended up bursting more with a tremendous amount of heat from the dark magenta flames that were growing before creating their own explosions, and Yaeko let out screams of immense pain! Not only were the blasts and explosions very painful to create scorching-hot bruises that burnt her skin to where she wasn't very durable, but the power of Risa's attacks even made the pressure of psychic power slam against her body repeatedly from multiple directions! That immense amount of damage made Yaeko fall out of the sky, and she ended up loudly crashing down into the forest!
Yaeko harshly landed on the ground, creating a large crater while the impact of her fall made several clouds of dust briefly blow through the forest at rapid speeds, and Risa stayed in the sky to just look down at that area of the forest. The mossy green leaves could be seen falling down from some trees, since the high-speed winds tore the branches off of the trees during Yaeko's harsh descent from the sky, and Risa could see some birds in different shades of green flying up to be in the air. As the birds quickly flew into different parts of sky and went past Risa, Haruna could only continue to seem impressed by what she was witnessing in this battle.
Risa was still fighting so hard to the point of increasing her power to unleash this new shade of magenta Psychic Magic that showed her fusion spell's aftereffect of bending the remaining flames to distort a wide amount of space in midair, and the Sabertooth wizard was now even taking on Yaeko at what seemed to be her highest level of power. Haruna wondered if Risa had finally finished the fight, but she ended up quickly becoming just as shocked as Risa from suddenly sensing a high amount of power that came from a certain mage on the ground. Risa's psychic powers allowed her to see Yaeko pushing herself to get up with her fists clenched while she was badly wounded, which was a prediction that immediately came true, but even a psychic mage such as Risa couldn't expect her discriminatory opponent to be the type of researcher who became enraged at how she was being outclassed in this fight.
"THERE'S NO WAY...! NOT AGAINST YOU...! THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT I'LL LOSE TO A PINK-HAIRED PIECE OF PSYCHIC SCUM LIKE YOU!" Yaeko angrily yelled up at Risa while aiming both of her hands up at the sky, letting her three auras in different shades of green grow from how her hands were starting to absorb wind and any leaves that were blowing in the winds.
Risa exclaimed aloud with a stern facial expression, focusing the magical power to be around her body while she foresaw Yaeko's attack, "She still had this type of attack?! That sentient wind spell is definitely dangerous!"
Haruna thought to herself in a panicked manner, looking quite alarmed at how she could sense the power of that spell, "Yaeko's spell must be very destructive, and it probably eliminates someone as easily as Yaeko's chemicals in the deadly perfume!"
Yaeko shouted fiercely with an extremely angry look on her face, letting the spell be unleashed from her hands, "COME FORTH, KAZE'S AERIAL GODDESS OF HURRICANES!"
She ended up making a large and avian bird be sent into the sky, and the bird also had predominantly forest green plumage. Its small and triangular eyes were also in a forest green color while its long beak was in a moss green color, and its beak was quite thin. The thinness of the bird's beak contrasted with how its tail and wings consisted of a large amount of spiky forest green feathers, Matcha green feathers covered the back of the bird's wings, as well as its inner tail feathers. There was even a cloud-shaped crest of spiked matcha green feathers surrounding the bird's forehead, and its thighs were also in a matcha green color. The bird's thin legs were in a forest green color, however, and its feet had four toes facing forward while one toe faced backwards. Also, its feet had moss green talons that appeared to be quite sharp.
The bird's talons were sharp enough to surprisingly slice through the remaining cerise pink currents of air, as Risa witnessed firsthand from seeing the bird quickly fly into the sky. She saw the bird quickly turn on its right side while heading in her direction, prompting Risa to jump on the air currents as a way of propelling herself to be somewhat distant from the bird, and she was using these crucial seconds of time to build up her magical power for a strong fusion spell that could defeat Yaeko. However, defeating the antagonist would have to come after taking down her spell that viciously roared like an extremely aggressive bird.
The aggressiveness of the spell came from how it merely mimicked Yaeko's hatred of Risa, roaring like it wanted to instantly destroy her, and the spell wouldn't let her have absolute control over the flow of this battle. Risa attempted to strike the bird with the spell known as Magenta's Soul Eradication Bomb, which made a black sphere be in her left hand right before thin beams of dark magenta light emanated from it for the sphere to soon be in that color, and Risa threw her projectile at the bird! She heard it roar loudly in a pained manner while the bird was caught in the dark magenta explosion, but the bird soon emerged from the explosion with a forest green aura of winds surrounding its body. The aura gave the bird more strength to make its winds tear through the explosion, even making some flames burst in midair, but Risa quickly jumped up into the air as a way of avoiding a collision with the bird. She felt glad to not collide with it, especially when she turned around to see a glimpse of what was happening to Yaeko's projectile.
Risa asked aloud in a shocked manner, as she got to see the winds eliminating some portions of the Wind Magic's wings, "Yaeko's spell is... destroying itself?!"
Haruna told Risa with a concerned facial expression while remembering the logic of that particular type of spell, "Just because it's getting thinner in the wind, don't let your guard down! Be worried that a thinner bird made from magic can fly much faster than one with more weight!"
Risa exclaimed in a worried tone, as she had to build more magical power to make herself be better, "That's definitely not good!"
The situation certainly wasn't suitable for Risa, who found herself have to propel herself through the air at a speed that was nearly twice as fast as her movements when she was using spells in the color of dark magenta, and she could feel intense currents from the bird that was quickly starting to catch up with her. She purposely jumped down to a lower level of air to see that the winds eliminated most of its wings, along with most of its body for the bird to be quite thin, but seeing the bird curve down to attack her at immensely high speeds was quite terrifying. The fast-moving bird watched Risa try to dodge the collision, but it angrily roared while one of its wings grazed her right side. That caused Risa to be engulfed by a massive green blast of Wind Magic while the thin bird flew up high to inhale some more energy, and hearing Risa scream in immense pain from feeling the blast be like the winds of several tornadoes tearing her body to shreds caused the bird to smirk evilly like how Yaeko was smirking viciously.
Yaeko wasn't just smirking with sadism in her eyes from seeing Risa be in pain, though. She got to see her bird inhaling more air, increasing its power while Yaeko didn't mind how the wind wouldn't repair its thin body, and she pointed her right hand at the blast's forest green smoke for the bird to immediately go towards it. Yaeko's bird hastily flew towards the blast while Risa started to fall out of the sky with wounds on her body, preparing to tear through the smoke and air before it would inhale more wind to boost the power of its attacks even more, and the spell was becoming somewhat thinner to where it could fly even faster with matcha green streams of Wind Magic surrounding it to cover the forest green aura.
The streams of Wind Magic and the aura soon became distorted, however, and the bird screamed in excruciating pain. Yaeko and Haruna were both stunned to hear the bird roar in serious pain, but Yaeko widened her eyes in absolute shock at how her spell's body was now bending in bizarre directions like the space around it was being torn. That was the aftereffect of Risa's previous spell, which even made one of the bending flames psychically move towards the bird for the purpose of exploding, and seeing another thin layer of wind get torn away from the bird simply meant that it couldn't tear through magic that tore through things itself. Risa's magic restricted the bird's movement, but Risa herself was currently struggling to move. She weakly used Stellar Psi to levitate herself up just enough to climb on to a Sky Garden Cloud that had several pink flames from her fourth fusion spell still on it, and Risa proceeded to just eat the shadows of those flames to increase her magical power. After feeling her body have much more energy while the dark magenta aura expanded around her, Risa decided that she would end this fight with one last fusion spell.
"Magenta's Soul Eradication Bomb, appear in my left hand! In my right hand, Dark Magenta's Origin Ring of The Mind's Wisdom!" Risa shouted with a fierce and determined facial expression, before two spheres quickly formed in her hands.
Haruna asked aloud with a curious facial expression while seeing the dark magenta beams of light radiate with more of that eerie color's brightness from the sphere in Risa's right hand, "What type of combo did Risa create this time?"
Yaeko thought to herself with an extremely stunned facial expression, as she only heard rumors of the attacks related to second spell's name in her research on Psychic Magic, "Wait, spells of Psychic Magic that involve origins came from...! No way...! Risa Ryusei combined those attacks for them to be similar to...!"
Risa's second spell was positioned above the first spell by making her right hand's palm aim down at her left hand's spell, and the stronger spell of dark magenta magic was soon coated by the weaker spell to create the fusion spell known as Dark Magenta's Psychic Burst of The Mind's Four Wisdom Gates! Risa kept the fusion spell in her right hand while jumping high up to be above the bird, which was almost about to explode from its effect and the distorting space around it. Risa aimed her left hand at the bending dark magenta flames for some of them to come towards her, before calmly putting her fusion spell in front of them, and the fusion spell absorbed the power of the distorted flames to have Psychic Magic swirling around inside of it in a counterclockwise manner.
The enhanced fusion spell was slammed down against Yaeko's bird, the projectile roaring in pain from how it couldn't avoid the intense power of the spell, and the bird soon became engulfed in the color of dark magenta. Its Wind Magic had been nullified, causing the projectile to fall out of the sky, and Risa commanded the rest of the dark magenta fire to enter her spell. She threw it down at the bird, seeing it fall towards where Yaeko had created in this fight, and Risa's spell gained more power from how she sent her mind's energy into it for the spell to show its most powerful effect. Risa's sphere grew much larger while a dark magenta ring appeared around it with four dark magenta orbs slightly floating above the circle, and the orbs represented gates of a mind's wisdom from how they were in the four main positions of a compass. Those orbs glowed brightly in the dark magenta color while their light shined towards the orb, causing it to glow quite brightly in that same color, and Risa's silent thought of directing the spell at Yaeko made its psychic energy only create a dark magenta aura around the antagonist. Yaeko felt herself be lifted up to a high altitude in the sky, colliding with her bird that immediately ended up bursting in a circular ring of dark magenta glitter from having its explosive effects be neutralized, and she looked quite fearful from painfully feeling the psychic pressure that would probably crush her even more when the spell hit the ground.
Risa's spell ended up crashing into the ground to create a massive blast in the color of dark magenta, its immense force making trees be blown away or obliterated while the flames created several beams of fire that rose upward for a few seconds. During those moments of the spell hitting the ground and creating fire, Yaeko screamed in an excruciating amount of pain from taking a massive amount of damage in a very short amount of time. She couldn't even feel her skin being burned or feel herself being crushed by the psychic pressure for very long, since the explosion and the towers of mystical fire hit her a very intense amount of power. The immensely hot fire and the blast faded away quickly, leaving behind billowing clouds of dark magenta smoke, but Risa used the remainder of her magical power to foresee Yaeko's fate. Risa could only see a beaker that looked like it had fallen on a Sky Garden Cloud, but it was completely motionless while its contents were very scarce.
"She's dying. It seems like... I won." Risa stated aloud with a happy facial expression, before looking shocked and coughing up some blood while her body felt an immense amount of pain from the side effects of using the dark magenta spells for far too long.
Haruna shouted with a concerned look on her face while seeing Risa start to fall out of the sky, "Hold on, Risa!"
After quickly steering the Sky Garden Cloud towards Risa and having to deal with how Risa fell on to her, Haruna softly stated with a bit of pain in her voice, "That's not the best.. way to catch somebody, but at least I did something that wasn't self-interested,"
Haruna made the Sky Garden Cloud float towards another one that she could easily jump on to while holding Risa with one hand, and the woman with dark green hair simply looked down at the princess of Parmanie Town with a relieved smile. Even as Risa was groaning in pain and weakly trying to move, Haruna really respected how someone who fought quite hard for other people could be an amazingly strong person. Risa's willpower and Psychic Magic impressed Haruna to where she felt like the idea of making herself be the only important survivor in Ryokufū Town was a belief that had to be thought out more.
In fact, Haruna started to think of herself as someone who needed to restore Ryokufū Town to its former glory on her own while the people who had been suffering from the deadly perfume would need to entirely depend on her judgment. After all, she could care about them and they could fully trust her decisions while Haruna wouldn't be the type of town leader to discrimnate against anyone. She started thinking about how there was the upcoming plan of finding a possible cure or aromatic remedy for the sickness, and Haruna felt like all of the townspeople or tourists could find happiness by just listening to her choices.
That included Kūkiatsu and Kusabue, who had both floated up into the sky on a Sky Garden Cloud that appeared to come from a flowery area of the forest's west side of the town. Kūkiatsu had used his Wind Magic to extract pale pink nectar from some flowers covered in pink syrup for Kusabue to just drink the nectar from those flowers, since their pink nectar mixed with the Plant Magic to create a type of flower that had pink syrup growing out of it, and drinking that nectar got Kusabue out of feeling wooziness or feeling any other emotion that could interfere with their teamwork. Kūkiatsu and Kusabue respectively had the mint green and shamrock green auras around their bodies, as they appropriately absorbed the winds and absorbed the sound waves of everything they heard that pertained to the fight. Kūkiatsu steered the Sky Garden Cloud in the direction where Risa's presence could be sensed, only for him and Kusabue to both look very concerned at how Risa seemed to be badly wounded. Kūkiatsu was about to jump on Haruna's Sky Garden Cloud for a moment, but she used her left hand to motion for him to stay still.
"Risa is okay, young mage. She's still breathing, so she'll live. Risa can probably heal herself later, but Yaeko is dying. She won't hurt anyone anymore." Haruna explained to him with a nice smile on her face, assuring him that things were fine.
Kūkiatsu replied to her with a stern frown on his face, as he noticed that Haruna lacked something important, "She's dying, but she's not dead yet. That horrible researcher needs to die, and it seems like you forgot that we need something important from her for that perfume formula to be analyzed. After it's analyzed, we could probably counteract it. However, that chemist has a portion of the info that we need."
Kusabue asked Kūkiatsu while smiling a bit, as her eyes curiously noticed something on a Sky Garden Cloud that was at a lower altitude, "Kūkiatsu, does that count as a type of information?"
"What are you talking about, Kusabue?" Kūkiatsu calmly asked her with a somewhat interested look on his face, wondering what she saw.
She pointed down to the Sky Garden Cloud that started to make half of itself be obscured underneath the cloud that they were on, and Kūkiatsu saw the beaker that was filled with the contents of Yaeko's chemical mixture. Kūkiatsu slashed at the air with his Wind Magic to create a mint green tornado that appeared in midair, and he lowered his hand to make the tornado go downward. It quickly captured the beaker to spin it around in the winds, before propelling it up much higher for it to be in midair, and Kūkiatsu caught the bottle. He proceeded to give it to Haruna, who smiled while accepting the bottle, but glancing at the Sabertooth mage who wanted to help her friends caused him to think about the next part of his methodical plan.
Five minutes later...
Kūkiatsu surprised Haruna by lowering the Sky Garden Cloud all the way down to the forest, keeping it slightly floating above the grass, and he got off of the cloud with Kusabue. She started to mimic her older brother's stern frown at how there was a matter that they needed to handle right now, and that issue involved Yaeko. The fact the researcher's presence could be sensed in this forest made Kūkiatsu be wary, as he wondered about how much damage Risa's spell had done to that mage, and Risa's dark magenta magic seemed like it had been concentrated into being on one side of the forest.
That made Kūkiatsu come to the interpretation that Yaeko couldn't be too far away, and he watched the grassy ground start to be replaced with the large edges of a crater. He proceeded to walk into the crater while Kusabue decided to be in front of him, wanting her brother to be just as safe as their parents, and the siblings soon saw the sight of how Risa's spell had left Yaeko's skin charred in a dark brown color. Her skin had several severe-looking dark magenta burns on it while her body also appeared to be crushed from pressure to where she was heavily bruised with multiple wounds bleeding, even having wounds bleeding from her feet that had her matcha green wedges almost entirely burnt away but Kūkiatsu could still see the researcher's body weakly twitching in what appeared to be the last ten minutes of her life.
Yaeko's eyes were about to close, but she kept them open long enough for her to see Kūkiatsu arrive with Kusabue. She managed to scowl at Kusabue while wondering if the young girl wanted to laugh and heckle her for losing against a mage who had been defending people who Yaeko deemed to be inferior, but the sight of Yaeko glaring at her only made Kusabue glare right back at her with anger in her eyes. She walked past Kūkiatsu to get closer to Yaeko, who could barely move, and recalling the fact of how Yaeko was the one who created this particular conflict by not giving back the ring only made Kusabue feel like she needed to make the disgusting wizard deal with a type of treatment that some discriminatory people needed to receive.
Kusabue concentrated her Sound Magic into her left fist, before even blowing on it to make a whistling sound that was quite loud, and she waited for Kūkiatsu to help her out with their task of getting revenge. He proceeded to get revenge in one aspect by putting his left hand into Yaeko's fern green blouse that was torn, as he could see the badge lightly sticking out from what appeared to be the torn remnants of her forest green lacy bra, and he pulled out the badge. He glanced at it, before sternly glaring down at Yaeko like she had just gotten herself fired from the town's research institution. The research lab's uniform had also concealed her honeydew green khaki pants, which were mostly burnt off and torn to where the clothes that were somewhat durable couldn't fully hide a moss green envelope that had most of its contents burnt up. The only part of the envelope not burnt up was the portion containing a small fragment of a note written on forest green paper, and the contents of that paper talked about Yaeko being a chemist who fused Wind Magic with Plant Magic for seemingly honest results that she needed to share in a letter addressed to someone named Suzuna Hiyayakana.
"Yaeko Hanabuki, that person may be happy to later know about how your research on Wind Magic and Plant Magic as a chemist has been terminated." Kūkiatsu harshly told her in the moment where his right hand took out that piece of the note from Yaeko's clothes to put it in the left pocket of his pants, as he looked back at the somewhat charred badge that had her research information on it.
Kusabue added while frowning in a vengeful manner, increasing the shamrock green aura around her fist, "In fact, my brother and I have a mixture of our own that needed to be created after you hurt us."
"You're still.. acting like.. you.. can.. beat.. me.., but you're.. a girl.. with.. dark green.. hair.. and.. you're a.. lowly.. piece of.. garbage.. that.. can't be.. useful." Yaeko managed to utter as her last words, as she managed to make her lips form a very condescending smirk at Kusabue.
The antagonist's words only made Kūkiatsu create a small mint green tornado around his left foot, before raising his leg, and he sent the mint green aura around his body into the small tornado. Its power increased to where Kūkiatsu could feel the attack having much more power than when he hit the girl who he believed to be Kotomi Takeuchi, and he stomped his foot down on to Yaeko's chest! That happened at the same time as Kusabue slamming her fist down on Yaeko's chest, the sound waves being loud enough to break the earth right before they created a small explosion that was strengthened by the mint green explosion of Kūkiatsu's wind energy amplifying the sound, and Yaeko coughed up some blood while she had a facial expression of disbelief.
She couldn't believe that the weaker mages were the ones who made this conflict come to an end by damaging her body more to where she'd die much sooner, as Yaeko had thought she would be the one to end their lives, and Yaeko's eyes slowly began to close. The final image that she'd ever see was Kūkiatsu high-fiving Kusabue while they both sternly looked down at her, and the people who she looked down upon were now the ones who stood above her. Kūkiatsu proceeded to walk away from Yaeko, and looking around in the forest made him think about Harui's list of plants pertaining to the chemical mixture.
Even though there wasn't a plant that could nullify or overpower the effects of every plant that had been used in the making of that deadly perfume, there were ways to nullify every individual's plants effects. Kūkiatsu viewed that logic as a good step towards creating a new perfume that could be sprayed for the purpose of curing anyone who was still strong enough to be enduring the sickly symptoms of the perfume's scent, since it would be like providing a good cure for this disease, and his combined attack with Kusabue made him start to think that the hybrid plants needed to be nullified first. He recalled how there weren't any recorded hybrids that could nullify the plants around him that were matcha green mixed with forest green, nor were there any hybrid plants that could nullify the nearby area of moss green plants that were mixed with plants in the shades of forest green or mint green for those hybrid plants to exist. As Kūkiatsu looked around with his back turned to Kusabue, he got to hear her gasp in awe at something.
"Kūkiatsu, what flowers are these? Do these pretty flowers normally grow here?" Kusabue asked him with a happy smile on her face, as she was looking at a burning bush of roses that were in a dark magenta color.
Upon going over to Kusabue to see the flowers and giving them a very puzzled look, Kūkiatsu calmly told his sister before seeing other plants around the area start to be in a dark shade of magenta, "Even with my expertise on researching plants, I haven't seen these before. They look like the green roses that are made from Plant Magic, but it seems like they've been converted recently. Kusabue, I think that the Sabertooth wizard's magic was focused entirely on one point to harm Yaeko. Although, a spell must've been converted for the dark magenta fire around here to be converting the plants that it touches instead of disintegrating them."
"I'll just pick some of the flowers, since they're new! I'm now the first person to own these rare flowers, Kūkiatsu!" Kusabue told him with a joyful smile on her face, before giggling.
Kusabue suddenly heard Haruna tell her in a stern tone, after lowering her Sky Garden Cloud just enough to where they could hear her from a somewhat high altitude, "If you're going to spend valuable time picking flowers, then make sure that they're somehow beneficial to helping me right now!"
Haruna's somewhat rude attitude made Kusabue throw a dark magenta rose up into the air, before letting out a high-pitched whistling sound from her mouth to propel the rose much higher, and she watched Haruna carefully grab the rose by its petals. Haruna looked back down at Kusabue and Kūkiatsu, the latter of the two getting back on his Sky Garden Cloud for a moment, and Haruna saw him infuse magic into the cloud to make it rise up again. He soon got up to being near Haruna's cloud, and he simply glanced at her for a moment.
He noticed that she was hardly as wounded as Risa, who was bloodied and bruised while had her hair start to return to its regular shade of pink, and Kūkiatsu felt like Risa was the person who deserved to have Yaeko's somewhat damaged badge thrown at her. The badge landed in front of Risa's hands, almost like a sign that she needed to be the one who wielded the badge like an intern who would need to show that badge as proof that they were supposedly associated with the head member of a research sector, and Kūkiatsu purposely turned his head away from the women to look at the plants.
That was a sign for Haruna to silently inform her that he'd stay behind with Kusabue to gather the plants from different parts of the town's large forest, as there were several plants in the dense forest to where the act of creating the remedy for the perfume was possible with enough expertise on plants, and Kūkiatsu hoped that Haruna would help Risa with exposing the instances of improper research that were happening in the research lab. Kūkiatsu watched Haruna impatiently steer her Sky Garden Cloud towards the research lab while he made his own cloud descend back down for him to be near Kusabue, and the two situations involving Ryokufū Town's wizards who needed help with their own problems were finally starting to become one issue where cohesion was needed. Although, not every person would be part of the cohesive group.
30 minutes later, in the forest...
Haruna chose to walk ahead of Risa right after she made the Sky Garden Cloud land near the middle of the western half of the Verdure Forest, and she refused to work with Kūkiatsu or Kusabue. Haruna believed that those two siblings would only slow down the team, due to how they spent time focusing on their own goals of killing Yaeko and finding plants for a remedy to counteract the perfume instead of wanting to hear her personal judgment on the situation. Haruna thought that they should've analyzed the contents of the beaker before looking for the plants, and she personally viewed Kūkiatsu to be a foolish mage for thinking that he could make a good decision without a higher-ranked person in command.
Haruna viewed herself to be someone who would soon become a high-ranking individual, and she thought that Kūkiatsu should've taken the logical course of action that involved just listening to someone who had expertise on perfume fragrances. Since he didn't listen to her, Haruna viewed the young mage to just be carrying out actions that would waste everyone's time. Speaking of time being wasted, Haruna noticed that Risa was several feet behind her while they walked towards the research lab. The laboratory wasn't extremely far away, but Haruna felt like Risa needed to walk faster when they weren't in a situation where a fight was occurring right now.
They were merely walking down a grassy path in the forest where some mossy green rocks were near the trees that had mossy green leaves growing on them, and those trees were on this straight path that curved up to the right for the girls to possibly reach a new area of the forest. They soon reached a section of the forest where the leaves on the trees changed from being moss green to juniper green, which was a rich and deep shade of green while the grass also began to be in that same color. Upon looking down at the grass, Haruna felt like they were getting closer to the research lab.
She remembered that there was a mentioned underground path to the research lab, though, and Sky Garden Clouds weren't allowed to pass through the barrier of Wind Magic in front of the research lab's frontal entrance on this side of the forest. Even if Haruna was allowed to get through the barrier, she still felt like it would be necessary to give Risa the order of guarding her until they found a way to either expose the horrible actions of the researchers or eliminate all of them. If they exposed the researchers or killed them, then Haruna could inherit the town and work towards making people follow her plans for finding the proper remedy instead of experimenting on the basis of their own levels of knowledge. She believed that her choices would be better, especially since a leader's orders had to be followed without questions or wasting time on trivial matters, and Haruna turned around to simply throw the dark magenta rose into Risa's hands.
"From this point on, you just have to stick to the task of protecting me while I break into the research lab to check out its upper floors for all of the crucial information that can make the researchers be exposed as the creators of the deadly perfume. If they die while I still remain alive, then that's also good." Haruna explained to Risa with a calm look on her face, expecting Risa to just obey an order from the future leader of Ryokufū Town.
Risa responded to Haruna with a concerned look on her face, as her eyes showed uncertainty about Haruna's plan, "Stop yourself from talking for a moment, Haruna. When you came to Sabertooth with your request, our task was to help a perfume shop owner prove that her store's fragrances were wrongly blamed for the town's pandemic. If we had known you were a future princess who had to be guarded, then this would've been an S-Class mission on the basis of all the danger. This task is too dangerous for arrogant plans, and don't act like you're some leader of mages who chose to bravely enter this forest. You only came here because I felt like you needed to be kept safe when we were all wondering about the sounds that turned out to be Kusabue singing, Haruna, but you're a mage who could've easily left us to go back to being safe in your store instead of acting like we should suddenly follow your judgment. Your choice doesn't even involve caring about my friends, including those siblings, so I still have to wonder if Rogue and Yukino are just as okay as Kūkiatsu and Kusabue."
"If any of those mages encountered trouble in the forest, then it's their own fault. I just wanted this to be a task where people would help me make my perfume shop thrive again while my inheritance wouldn't matter, but you and your friends made the members of The Green Meadow's Five Groves fight you all individually because you chose to help out two mages who couldn't even defend themselves from getting attacked in the first place to where their desire for payback made emotions cloud your judgment. Relying on feelings and putting faith in those siblings to help you is just as disastrous as their need for your help, since my choice of viewing my job as more important is better than getting sidetracked with trivial nonsense." Haruna coldly responded to Risa with a frustrated look on her face, acting as if her group made this job be so difficult.
Upon hearing Haruna's words, Risa could only glare at her with an immense amount of distaste in her eyes. Haruna was acting as if her mission was the highest priority above everything else, almost as if other people who needed help with issues that made them emotional were only less irrelevant to her than people that could be perceived as sacrifices for her own survival, and Risa looked down at the dark magenta flower for a moment. She only got the chance to fight Yaeko and create that hybrid flower because of how Lucy and Sting believed that she was the best person to take down Yaeko, and Risa was only on the Sky Garden Cloud with her friends because of Rogue.
Rogue wanted Risa to protect Lucy and Sting on their way to the research lab, which was a definite order that Risa carried out with absolutely no hesitation, and Risa felt like she fully helped Rogue by believing in his strength as a mage to where she'd let him be the only one to fight Sosai while Risa's clone only assisted Rogue with healing him or confusing the enemy with a spell. The fact of how that particular enemy never appeared to be following them made Risa feel like Rogue's confidence in himself was part of a good strategy for that fight, and she also viewed Yukino's choice to confidently fight Harui to be a way of defending a good guild master like Sting. The light dragon slayer was a leader who mostly didn't mind if his friends were emotional enough to fight someone, In fact, he probably wouldn't have minded if Risa had been the first individual member of the team to get sidetracked with helping those siblings stay safe.
"If we had done things your way and those siblings got killed without any of us being around to save them, then you would've probably been killed by an attack or had your shop destroyed by the researchers in a battle between groups of mages. Since our emotions and desire to protect others prevented that scenario, you should be glad that we cared about two people who actually hate those researchers just as much as the rest of us do. You may not like getting involved with other people's problems or dealing with them having their own decisions, but a caring leader is better that someone who could make themselves become a horrible cult leader or a selfish tyrant!" Risa harshly explained to Haruna with an angry look on her face, chastising her for feeling so self-important.
Haruna responded to Risa while fiercely looking at her, arrogance in her eyes from feeling overconfident about her words of assuming, "As a princess of Parmanie Town and supposedly caring leader, you have no right to lecture me about the way I should act for solving my town's problems! You and everyone else in the happy town of Parmanie have no idea of what discrimination is like, Risa, and you've probably never lost someone who you cared about! You've never had to be all alone with no one who you can trust, and I'm happy that my good friend Kotomi is finally back for her to agree with me on-"
"You know absolutely nothing about me, and you know nothing about your friend! In fact, I don't remember you asking Kotomi even once about why she needs the legendary ring from your town! You're not going to be a good leader of Ryokufū, if you're bossy and arrogant to where you hastily assume things with so much impatience and prejudice!" Risa replied with a stern facial expression, continuing to speak with her eyes narrowed as she spoke words of wisdom to Haruna.
That reply made Haruna look over at the grass to avert Risa's gaze, seeming miffed as she could offer no counterargument to that speech from the pink-haired girl. Risa was certainly right about how Haruna hadn't even asked her alleged best friend about exactly why she needed to have the legendary ring, and that made Haruna start to look ashamed. She couldn't really call herself a good friend by not even being there for Kotomi, not even asking her about something that was on her mind, and a great friend would've asked the simple question about Kotomi's motive while any possible feeling of shock from the situation wouldn't matter.
Haruna thought more about Kotomi while she proceeded to start running on the forest's path towards the research lab again, feeling like she had been so selfish to care only about herself to where even her best friend left on a Sky Garden Cloud with Sting instead of continuing to escort her to the research lab, and that immense selfishness was just as bad as her self-importance to where she had even neglected to think about if Kotomi safely made it to the research lab with Sting. If they were getting harmed by their opponents right now, then Haruna felt like she'd entirely be at fault for her own decision of not pursuing any of them.
The thought of Kotomi possibly dying caused Haruna to run faster, before seeing Risa start to run beside her with a light pink aura of Psychic Magic lightly surrounding her feet, and she went down the path that continued to curve in certain directions. The final left and right upward curves of the paths led Haruna and Risa to soon find themselves in a dense part of the forest where the bushes were composed of mint green leaves, the trees having their leaves in the same color while the scent was very sweet, and Haruna wondered if she could find the underground path. She chose to look down behind a bush, only to see a grassy slope that curved downward to a seemingly abandoned building, but Risa quickly went down that slope with Haruna. The two girls soon arrived in front of the door, which creaked open from how a blue-haired female researcher around Haruna's age came from the underground path, and the area behind the door seemed to be quite dark.
That contrasted with the bright forest green lab coat of the researcher, who was a woman that curiously looked at Risa for presumably doing research in the wrong attire, but flashing Yaeko's badge in front of her face allowed the woman to assume that Yaeko was accepting rookies in her sector. Risa also let her see the dark magenta flower, which was a new hybrid that a head researcher would need to examine, and the woman with short blue hair in a bob style had an intrigued look in her periwinkle blue eyes at Risa's discovery. She allowed her to put the charred badge in the slot near the door, smiling at how Risa seemed amazed at the button above the slot turning the green, and that actually kept the third floor's alarm from being triggered by someone who didn't use a Master Key or their active employee badge to open the door or extend its very short duration for being unlocked.
"We're finally inside the research lab." Risa stated to Haruna with a nice smile on her face after the researcher quickly left, feeling glad that they weren't caught by any security guards.
Haruna responded to her in a stern manner, still a bit nervous, "Let's just make sure that there are no employees working in this underground path, and then we can feel relieved."
Haruna felt uncomfortable at how the underground path of this research lab was a hallway with a grey tiled floor matching black walls, seeming gloomy while only round white lights were on the ceiling to illuminate the area, and she made her footsteps be quite soft. Risa contrasted that sound by walking very quickly and loudly, making herself seem like a researcher who needed to get back to work, and she even made her Psychic Magic help her get into that role. Risa made a pink aura surround her body, as she sensed that one of her spells still had to be dispelled like she had left a clone of herself out in the forest, and dispelling that clone allowed her to get more energy back right before she purposely put her fingers near her temples as if she was building up psychic power. Getting that psychic energy back let Risa also see a brief vision of Rogue wanting the clone to let Risa know that Rogue was going to see if Yukino was okay, and now knowing that Rogue was quietly searching for Yukino or possibly quietly walking around a different area of the lab caused Risa to smile a bit more while she'd stealthily pretend to be a mage who doubled as an employee using Psychic Magic for interesting purposes.
Risa chose to act like a psychic researcher who needed to foresee which plants could go well together for one of the new perfume formulas that would be created in the research institution, and the pink aura surrounding her body definitely brought more light to Haruna. The woman with dark green hair felt some relief from how Risa was smartly getting her magic prepared for a possible ambush, and Haruna started running to catch up with her. She began to think about how this plan felt like it would go smoothly, even if it looked like a new chemist in Yaeko's department was doing some field work with an unofficial researcher, and it seemed like going up the stairs would take them to a calm atmosphere in that sector.
However, going up some neon green stairs to reach the third floor of the research lab only made Haruna quickly have to hide behind the moss green door that had suddenly opened. The door swung outwards while Haruna got to hear Risa hastily strike someone with a pink aura surrounding her fist, and Haruna came out from behind the door to see that Risa had knocked out a pink-haired researcher who hadn't been expecting that ambush. In fact, the girl who was ambushed interestingly had the guild mark of Lamia Scale on her right calf. She also had forest green lab coat, which Risa quickly took off of her body to leave the girl in her casual clothes while the Sabertooth mages were infiltrating more of the research lab.
How was Chapter 39? Feel free to tell me your thoughts on it. Risa's fight against Yaeko has concluded, and Risa is victorious! However, that doesn't mean she no longer has a role in this arc. Risa's role now is to now investigate the third floor of the research lab, and she may meet up with her friends. Speaking of Risa's situation, allow me to address Haruna if her personality seems confusing. She learned to not be a leader who sacrifices other people to move herself forward, but she also has the trait of thinking that everyone should just follow her orders and put up with her impatience of going forward towards goals without wasting time. That trait has been built up, you know. Speaking of buildup for things, Yaeko's words about Risa's final spell and Risa's actions of running into those two researchers do serve as the basis for plot points of future arcs. That also applies to Kūkiatsu's action of finding Yaeko's letter that she was writing to someone named Suzuna, so just wait for those plot points to be addressed in arcs that come later. Speaking of arcs, this is the sixth part of the Emerald Wind Arc! I'll update soon. :)
