Third Person POV
Nighttime: Hiccup's new room
Hiccup was lying on his bed in his new room. He was living in the apartment that Lucius and his Wife lived in, they lived on the 8/13th floor. All his things were already where they were like his old bedroom, except for a black bag that had a padlock on it. Hiccup told Lucius that it was just old family heirlooms, and it actually was. In a way.
He went to the Living room where Lucius and his wife, Honey Best, were. "Hey guys. Can I go to the library for a bit?" He asked them. Lucius looked at Honey who gave him a nod, she trusted that Hiccup could take care of himself. He sighed, "Alright, just don't stay out for too long." He nodded with a smile as he walked out with the bad over his shoulder.
The second he was a few blocks away from the apartment he went into an alleyway he started to climb one of the buildings to the top. After climbing 10 floors he made it to the top he opened the bag and inside was a black suit with hood that had a mask attached to it. The suit was worn by his father and his father before him. He then took out a quiver that could hold arrows and a sword bellow it. It was easy for him to grab his weapons over his right shoulder. He then put on his last weapon, his hidden blades. They were gauntlets that had a little spring mechanism below it that allowed small knife-like blades to come in and out. These weapons were what Hiccup was going to use in a... job that his father raised him for. But now he will use what he has and learned to protect the people of his city while honoring his father's memory.
With all his equipment on he waited silently until he heard a scream and jump from roof to roof until he saw, in an alley, a family, a man, a woman, a boy, and a little baby girl, being mugged by three men with guns. "HELP!" Yelled the Boy.
Without hesitation Hiccup jumped down and landed on one of the thugs as he stabbed him with his hidden blade in the back of his neck. The other two aimed their guns at him but Hiccup was faster. He dashed behind one of the thugs as the other tried to shoot him with his pistol, but instead he only hit his friend. He kept on shooting until he was out of bullets, he tried to reload but Hiccup shot an arrow through his hand and his dropped the gun holding his hand as he screamed.
Hiccup grabbed the man and punched him to the ground. "Who are you?" Rasped out the man. "I'm vengeance." Hiccup said as he stabbed the man in the heart with his hidden blade. He walked to the family. "Call the police, tell them what you saw today." He said calmly as he started to walk away.
"Who are you?" Asked the young boy, making Hiccup stop and turn to him, "The Hood" He said simply and he climbed up to the roof of the building as the boy stared in wonder. "Come on Jamie, let's go." Said his mother as his father called the police and they waited next to the street as a police car came and took them to the station where they were questioned while the bodies of the thugs were taken to a hospital.
Hiccup watches it all with a sadistic smile on his face. He heard an explosion and went to see what it was.
He reached the area and discovered that it was a bank being robbed by four armed men with hostages while the police were outside. He decided to stop this and snuck inside through the air vents. He looked around the area and saw one man taking the money while the other three were on the hostages. He shot one of the men holding hostages in the neck with an arrow as he jumped down and took out another thief with his hidden blades. The last one shot his shotgun at him but Hiccup dodged it and took out his sword as he waited behind a wall. The theif walked slowly to the wall, his gun raised. When he turned around the corner there was no one there. Suddenly he was on the ground with a sword pressed to his neck. "I think you missed me." Said the Hood as he slit the man's throat and the last theif who was stealing money, walked out of the safe and was met with an arrow to his left eye.
The Hood looked back at the hostages who were shaking in fear. "Go home." He said with unnatural calmness as he climbed up an air vent and left the area. Hiccup watched from a nearby building as the police went into the bank.
Flashback: 3 Years ago
Area: Unknown
An 11 year old Hiccup was with a man in the middle of a forest. This man wore a black suit with a hood and mask. He had a sword on his waist and a quiver on his back. Little Hiccup was holding a small recurve bow and shot at the target, a tree 3 miles away, but missed.
"Breathe Hiccup, breathe and focus on your target and nothing else." Said the man with a gentle tone. Hiccup did as he said and when he shot, bullseye. "Good". Hiccup smirked and looked at the man, "Thank you, Malcom." He said looking at the man, Malcom. "It's Mr. Merlyn to you kid." He said back as he motioned for him to shoot again. They did this for five more hours and every shot was perfect.
Flashback End
'Thank you Malcom' thought Hiccup as he saw the bodies being taken away in body bags.
Hiccup shot an arrow that shot a line behind it and used it as a zip line as he made it to as building near the apartment and he put his gear away and went home.
When he opened the door he was greeted with Honey, "How was the Library?" She asked with a smile. "I was nice." He said back with his own smile as he looked around for Lucius.
"Where's Lucius?" He asked. Honey looked a little nervous, "He's just having a night out with his friend." She said back. Hiccup nodded but looked at her a little suspiciously. He went to the Living room and watched the news.
It talked about the armed robbery he stopped at the bank. And it also talked about how a Vigilante who gave his name to a family of four. The Hood.
This was the birth of The Hood.
