One Month Later…
"'Four Indicted in National Intelligence Agency Scandal. By Lois Lane and Clark Kent.'" Lois read proudly the headline of the morning edition of the Daily Planet as she and Clark strolled toward work.
"Aha." Clark mumbled as he walked next to Lois his arm wrapped around her waist while his other hand was shoved it deep into the pocket of his pants.
"You know." Lois began as they kept walking. "I'm sure of two things about this article."
"And those two things are…?" Clark let his question trail off and pulled his arm from Lois' waist and put it around her shoulders giving her a little squeeze.
"That they're not too happy with us over at the NIA right now, for one thing." Lois explained as she scanned over the rest of the front page. "I would say they are probably kinda...ticked." she went on after a brief pause.
"And the second thing is?" Clark asked intrigued and kissed Lois' temple.
"This story could be the Pulitzer." Lois cheered excitedly and put the newspaper down.
"Everything could be the Pulitzer with you, Lois." Clark commented pointedly as he moved his hand from Lois' shoulder and shoved into the pocket of his pants.
Lois stopped walking and gave Clark the infamous Mad Dog Lane glare before she chuckled. His grin immediately shattered her façade.
"I'm just teasing you." Clark said as he put his arm around Lois and leaned to kiss her lightly on the lips, before he pressed the button to call the elevator. "But I thought you'd sworn that you'd win that Pulitzer all by yourself."
"That was before." Lois informed.
"Before what?" Clark asked with interest.
"Before I met you and realized that success can be pretty lonely." Lois explained. "And what is better than sharing this success with a cute boyfriend who also moonlights in tights?" she whispered the last three words in Clark's ear, then moved her lips on his and kissed him passionate, not caring about their surroundings. Rumors had already swirled since the first day they were officially together, despite Perry's secrecy, but neither Lois nor Clark confirmed it. It was two weeks ago when the whole building found out that Lane and Kent were an item not only professionally but also on their personal life. Lois impulsively had launched herself at Clark in the middle of the newsroom and kissed him throwing all the passion she could muster behind that kiss after a front page article that they had written together.
The 'ding' of the elevator interrupted their kiss and silently stepped into it along with a third passenger who was unknown to them. They had put on quite a show in front of him in the lobby. Lois and Clark stood a few inches away from each other and stared at the doors ahead struggling to keep straight faces as they were afraid they'd lose all their resolve at the moment. They could easily engage in relaxed conversation as partners but, well, it wasn't enough for them. The elevator dinged and the unknown passenger stepped off.
Lois watched as the doors closed and then she turned toward Clark and threw herself onto him. She passionately kissed him, tickling her tongue with his. Lois sucked her Clark's lips, gently, as though she was sampling nectar on a delicate petal.
With an intense urgency, Clark dipped his tongue past Lois' lips, caressing her tongue with his. His body craved her and he could feel his body responding to her.
The two of them were so lost in each other that they didn't hear the elevator ding signaling the elevator's arrival to their floor. The sound of catcalls and whistles around them reached their ears pulled them back to the present.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! What in the Sam Hill is going on here?" Perry demanded the moment he walked up the ramp saw his two top reporters kissing in the elevator.
Both Lois and Clark opened, then closed, then opened again their mouths embarrassed to say something but nothing came out.
"Who do you think you are?" Perry roared. "Elvis and Priscilla spending their Honeymoon in Graceland? Save it for after hours, will ya?" he ordered and then turned around to the people of the newsroom that were still watching Lois and Clark intensively. "What is this, a wax museum? Everyone get to work! We have a newspaper to print." Perry shouted as he walked down the ramp and made his way back to his office.
As the elevator doors closed, Lois and Clark smiled at other and began to kiss again.
"So what do you think?" Clark asked and motioned Lois to look around the empty room.
The question of a place for Clark to live had been a little more difficult to resolve than they thought. Despite they had started looking at listings from the moment Floyd announced Clark that he wouldn't expend his lease after its end, and the fact they had been surrounded by the details of several apartments which Clark was considering, they hadn't come to conclusion. Lois had even suggested for them to move in together, at least temporally, until Clark found something suitable for him, but Clark dismissed the idea immediately. Although they were spending nights at each other's apartments, he didn't want to intrude Lois' privacy. Plus, it was too early for them to take that step in their relationship. It was two days ago when by accident he looked into the Real Estate Sector and he found almost what he was looking for. Almost.
Lois bit the fingernail of her thumb as she paced back and forth across room, looking at the walls. "Are you sure?" she questioned unsure.
"Why not?" Clark approached Lois from behind, resting his hands on her shoulders. "It's in the city. It's got character. And there is a secret compartment, which is hard to find in a building this style. And the backyard has fence and is overhung by trees from where-you know who- can depart and return completely unobserved." he explained. "Not mention the window seat." he pointed out. "There is also one up in the master bedroom." he added. "And you love window seats."
"But Clark!" Lois exclaimed as she turned and looked at him. "It's a house." she told him in disbelief. "And you are thinking about buying it." When Clark told her that morning that he had come up with an alternative solution the last thing she expected was from him to purchase a house. She thought he decided to take a room in a hotel until he found the perfect choice of apartment but when she realized that he drove her down Hyperion Avenue, the street with the most famous and expensive brownstone houses of Metropolis her heart began to beat like a wild animal trying to escape her chest. That exact moment she realized what he intended to do.
"Lois." Clark smiled at her. "I want a place where you will feel comfortable." he began to explain. "I want you to spend a night here instead of leaving when my folks are here. I want you to wake up and go to the Planet with me instead of waking up two hours earlier and going to your apartment to change for the day." he continued. "I want you to make yourself at home by having a couple changes of clothes in my closet and your favorite coffee flavor in the cupboard of my kitchen." he added further. "You told me you like this style of houses so again, why not?" he made his case for his choice to buy a house
"Clark I've already had those things to your old apartment." Lois argued.
"Yes, I agree, but one day, if we're going to stay together then chances are that at some point we'll want to live together. You know, like a real couple." Clark defined and he blushed a little at that, avoiding her interesting gaze briefly. He'd always imagined having a future with Lois. He'd always imagined of marrying her and having kids with her one day. A girl preferably. The little princess he could spoil. Daddy's Princess. A girl who'd be Lois' clone in every way. Yet it was too soon for that.
"You have a point." Lois said thoughtfully as she approached the fireplace and ran her fingers over the engravings trying to sound as much casually as she could. Clark intended to buy the house because he wanted a future with her and wanted her to spend more time in his place. Was a hint that he wanted to….But then again, why had he rejected without a second thought her idea of moving in with her in her apartment? Lois pushed that thought out of his mind immediately. 'Don't go there' she thought to herself. 'It's too soon.'
"The mortgage is low, a little lower than the rent I paid to Floyd." Clark went on. "This house is bargain."
Lois turned to look at Clark, "Which is kinda interesting. And odd. Because why would someone sell a house like that in such a low price?" she wondered as she examined the tiles on the floor. "There has to be a catch."
"Yes there is." Clark nodded. "I did some digging." he informed. "There were two murders in this house. A local criminal lord sometime after 1898 and a woman 7 years ago." he added. "Not to mention that most of its tenants were various local criminals."
"Ouch!" Lois mumbled. "But again…" she looked around the room. "Is it really you?"
Clark cupped Lois' cheek. "It's me, it's you, it's us. So unless you afraid of ghosts…" he teased.
"Well…" Lois smiled slightly. "I think wood panel wallpaper will be perfect for this room." she suggested as she looked around the walls.
"So…" Clark murmured hesitantly.
Lois nodded slowly with a smile. "Go for it." she encouraged. "I just hope that the ceiling of the master bedroom will be as comfortable as it was at your apartment."
Clark laughed loudly. "Well, there is only one way to find out."
"It's not bad." Clark pointed out as he looked around his new living room. It had been only five days since Clark, after Lois' approval, had signed the volume of closing documents. Thanks to his super abilities he'd moved in over the weekend making quick and effortless work of the process. There were only a few things to take care of and Lois was more than happy to help him.
"It's not bad at all." Lois commented and folded her hands behind her back as she looked around Clark's new place. "It's great!"
"You were right about the wood panel wallpaper." Clark smiled. "It looks good." he added. "I'm not sure about the current decoration though." he commented unsure.
"Relax Clark." Lois assured and turned to pick up the last box from the floor. "We will put away the things where they should be." she smiled at him. "What in the World did you put in here?" she grimaced because of the heaviness of the box the moment she attempted to lift it.
Clark took the box from Lois. "Some old T-shirts and pants I want to store in the basement."
Lois picked through the box and pulled out a police uniform. "A police uniform?" Lois arched her eyebrow.
Clark let the box on an armchair. "It's the one I wore to help your uncle when the Skins attacked him that night." he pointed at the uniform.
"Hmmm." Lois hummed and placed the Police uniform over Clark's chest. "Every shade of blue looks good on you." she remarked and stared appreciatively at Clark's body.
"Really?" Clark asked hoarsely and caught Lois' wrists, his face few inches from hers.
"Aha." Lois mumbled and leaned her head up crushing her lips on Clark's. The police uniform found its way onto the floor as her arms wrapped around his neck tightly, while Clark's enveloped her slim form.
"We should sit and see the movie because the Chinese food and pizza will get cold." Clark suggested.
"Okay." Lois nodded and gently unhooked her arms from Clark.
Clark zipped into the kitchen in a blur and zipped back immediately, holding the two pizzas, the Chinese bamboo containers and two cream sodas in his hands.
"Still hot!" Lois enthused and sat on the couch, propping her feet on Clark's coffee table to get more comfortable. She opened eagerly one of the bamboo containers and dipped her fingers in to help herself to a mouthful. "Ooh, and still out of this world!" Lois let out an appreciative noise as she took a bite on it. "Literally."
Clark grinned at Lois and mimicked her position by sitting next to her and propping his feet on the coffee table. "So what we will see?"
"80's movies just like you asked." Lois informed. "So I brought 'The Untouchables', 'Top Gun', 'John Rambo', 'Tango and Cash', 'An Officer and a Gentleman', 'A View to a Kill'."
Clark opened the box and grabbed a slice of pizza. "I really want to see Sylvester Stallone tonight, but because John Rambo's movie is not my taste I will choose Tango and Cash." he took a bite. "And Kurt Russell had so much fun in that movie." he added chewing. "Besides…" he paused for a moment as he swallowed the chunk of pizza. "The actress who played Tango's sister, Kiki, had those incredible legs that went on forever." he went on as took one more bite of his pizza. "And that incredible body and the way she moved as she danced to the club ahhh-" Clark stopped in mid-sentence the moment he turned and saw Lois looking daggers at him.
"Oh come, Lois." Clark groaned incredulously. "You can't be jealous of an actress I have never met and never known her name."
"But I do know her name." Lois replied with annoyance and folded her arms in front of her chest.
"What's-" Clark began to ask but immediately shut his mouth upon seeing Lois' look. She was scary that moment even for the Man of Steel. Kryptonite had nothing on Mad Dog Lane. "Lois you have the most incredible legs and body in the World. Trust me." he tried to assure. "Okay." Clark set his slice back in the pizza box. "If you feel uncomfortable because of what I have just said we can choose another movie-"
"No, no no." Lois shook her head and prevented Clark from taking another videotape. "I really want to see that movie." she grabbed the videotape and stood from the couch¸ popping the videotape in Clark's VCR. "I'm really curious to see why those Kiki's legs are so special." she pressed the "play" button on the remote after she crossed back to the couch and sat settling herself down into the cushions. She couldn't help but laugh as the movie started.
Clark slipped arm around and laughed along with Lois, kissing her forehead, as he felt her snuggle up against his shoulder.
The brilliant rays of the morning sun shone right through the curtains and Lois blinked as the sunlight hit her face. She scrunched up her eyes, trying in vain to block out the light her arm up as a further defense against the sun. It was the first night she had spent at Clark's new place. She smiled as she stared at the ceiling and remembered the events of the previous night. It had been magical. Seriously, there was no other word to describe it how she felt every time she was with Clark. Lois mentally head slapped herself. How did she turn him down in the past? How could she think of turning Clark down for a second time by choosing Dan Scardino over him? The squeak from the hinges of the bedroom door brought Lois back to reality and turned to see Clark standing on the threshold of the bedroom door, with a tray in his hands.
"Good morning beautiful." Clark said softly as he walked into the room.
"Good morning, handsome." Lois smiled and sat herself up in bed, pulling the covers up over her body.
Clark set the tray down in front of Lois and sat next to her. "How did you sleep?" he asked and his hand reached out to brush a loose curl from her eyes. God she was so damn beautiful.
"Like a baby." Lois answered. "You are spoiling me." she teased as looked down at the amount of breakfast that Clark had prepared for her.
Clark fingers caressed Lois cheek softly, repeating the process when reaching her jaw. "You know, I would give you the world if I could." he confessed.
"You know, you wouldn't have to." Lois cupped Clark's cheek. "Because I already have it now that I'm with you." Lois moved the tray off the bed and onto the bedside table, her attention back on Clark in no time. She cupped Clark's cheeks with both of her hands and opened her mouth slightly, feeling his warm, sweet breath and allowing his tongue to explore hers after he leaned and began to kiss her.
Clark broke off the kiss "Don't you want to eat breakfast?" he managed to choke out.
"Ugh, ugh, ugh." Lois shook her head with a twinkle in her eyes. "You are my breakfast right now." she announced, wrapping her arms around Clark's neck and pushed him down on the bed.
"Congratulations on your murder-suicide story." Lois said as she sat on the edge of Clark's desk. "Nice work."
Clark looked up from his computer screen. "Thank you." he nodded his appreciation. He picked his pen and turned it over a few times, feeling the smooth plastic slide between his fingers, before he set his pen down on the desk. "You too. Your front page article on the Corruption in DA's Office was excellent work." he extolled. "You really nailed Clemmons."
"It proved he was the main man." Lois argued as she stood from Clark's desk. "A celebrated District Attorney with political ambitions who tampered with evidence." she began to explain as she rounded Clark's desk to stand behind him. "All the others who were involved in the scandal were corrupted cops, bailiffs and inferior court staff. Nothing special."
"Yea." Clark nodded. "He was planting or removing evidence to secure a string of convictions or acquittals." he turned and glanced over his shoulder at Lois. "So, how does it feel to bring down Metropolis' dirtiest DA with the swipe of a pen? This story will be definitely your next Kerth Award and probably your first Pulitzer." he smiled at her.
"Maybe." Lois smiled back at Clark.
"I can't help but wonder, though. Did Mayson…" Clark trailed off as he turned his attention back to his computer screen.
Lois immediately rounded Clark's desk and faced him. "I'm sure if Mayson had known the truth about her boss, Clemmons would have been behind bars a long time ago." Lois had never believed that Mayson was involved with Intergang. Yes, she had worked with Snell for Church in the past but that didn't mean anything. She had allowed her personal feelings – her jealousy - to cloud her professional judgment. Because it was exactly what she had felt back then.
"I'm sure she would." Clark said sadly. "I should have saved her you know." It had been almost three months after Mayson's death, and although most of the time he appeared to be back to his normal cheerful self, he still had occasional spells when he would sink into gloom because of his regret over not being able to save her.
"Clark, we've been over this," Lois reminded Clark gently.
"I know but if I-"
"Clark, there's nothing to be gained from what ifs, you know that, we both know that."
"I guess you're right. I just wish..."
"I know." Lois reached up and kissed Clark lovingly willing him to accept her comfort. "You would not be the man that you are…the man that I…love, if you could not grieve for someone you couldn't save. However, there wasn't anything else you could have done to save Mayson." She knew that one day, for Clark, grief would fade; while he would never forget, he would stop blaming himself. She, Martha, Jonathan, and their friends were determined on that. "How about you pushing those thoughts aside and relaxing a bit?" she suggested and rounded Clark's desk to stand behind him.
Clark sat still when Lois placed her hands on his shoulders and began to give him a much-needed massage. "That feels nice." he murmured, as his eyes drifted shut.
Lois hummed an agreement, and kept going. She rubbed across Clark's shoulders, up his neck, and as far down his back as his shirt and the chair would allow. "You can have more of it." she offered in a hoarse whisper.
Clark spun his chair around to face Lois. "Really?" he asked, excited like a five-year-old on Christmas.
"As long as you know who…" she whispered the last word and traced an imaginary 'S' across Clark's chest when she made sure no one was watching them. "is not too busy."
"Well, I think that the World could live without..." he looked around the newsroom before he went on. "You know who for one day."
"I was thinking for a whole weekend." Lois pouted as she pulled away. "But if he can't…"
"Oh, oh course he does!" Clark instantly responded. Even a superhero needed some moments of relaxation.
"If that is the case…" Lois trailed off with sparkle in her eyes. "See ya tonight." she told further and slipped a little envelope into Clark's breast pocket.
Before Clark could even respond Lois was out of sight. He pulled the envelope from his pocket and opened it. He was surprised to see a little white card with Lois' handwriting.
A weekend of Romance awaits you tonight at 7 p.m.
at the Honeymoon Suite of Lexor Hotel (for old times' sake)
Love
LL
Clark put the little white card back on the breast pocket of his jacket with a smile and returned his attention back to the envelope where he found a key card with the hotel's logo on it. 'Oh yea.' he thought. This'd be one helluva weekend.
"Lois?" Clark called after he swiped the cardkey and entered the Honeymoon Suite. It seemed only yesterday when he had first stepped into that room where he and Lois pretended the Newly Weds during the Roarke story, yet it had been a year ever since. Although his relationship with Lois had upended since then, everything in that room looked as if time had stopped back those days they were undercover. Nothing had changed. "Lois?" Clark repeated and looked through the open bedroom door but there was no one there. Clark stared around the Honeymoon Suite when his eyes fell on a white clothing box. He smiled as he carefully lifted the lid and saw what was inside.
Put this on
Lois had written on a little white card and Clark held up the content of the box. It was the police uniform he had picked up to help Mike Lane against the Skins, the same police uniform Lois had found a few days ago in a box during his moving in his brownstone house. Clark changed out of his business suit into the police uniform wondering what Lois had in mind by asking for it when he heard the door lock of the Honeymoon Suite click open. It was Lois standing on the other side in a long trench coat. Clark smiled to himself, as he recalled the last time she'd shown up like this.
'Lois, it's very late…'
'Not too late I hope….for us….for happiness?'
'Oh, no! Lois, please no don't!'
'Oh, Clark, I love you! I want to spend the rest of my life with you!'
'Lois, please go home….'
'You're here….this is my home….'
"I love you, Clark Kent." Lois declared the moment she stepped inside the room and untied trench coat she wore. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you." she went on and shrugged the coat off her slender shoulders, letting it fall onto the floor.
Clark swallowed. Well, it was the familiar gold bikini with the familiar teal blue veils, the hanging coins and gold chains she wore one year ago. "Lois? Wh…what are you doing?" he stuttered.
Lois wrapped a teal blue veil around his neck and pulled Clark to her. "I had never had the chance to finish the Dance of Seven Veils." she un-wrapped the veil from Clark's neck and took off his glasses from his face, throwing them on the couch. She started to dance hesitantly her bare feet were slow, and she manipulated the first veil to block her face often as if she was shy to be performing for Clark. Lois pulled off one of the veils and exposed most of her chest, except for the little bit still covered by the gold bikini. Every time she discarded a veil, she grew bolder, and the way she danced with the pieces of fabric became more and more provocative.
Clark was carried away by it. He fell onto the couch and watched Lois in awe to wiggle her hips and sway her shoulders. The tinkling noise of the hanging coins and gold chains on her costume that jostled together sounded music to his ears. Clark found his eyes would get caught up in even the most trivial of things - the way Lois' hands moved as if through water instead of air, the way her skin shone.
Lois' grace was mesmerizing; every time she un-wrapped a veil, she seemed to grow more enticing. The teal blue veils made her look like some sort of angel, but a fallen angel perhaps; no messenger of God would dance so temptingly. Clark felt himself beginning to break into a sweat as Lois removed enough veils to uncover her legs; her bare thighs peeked through the layers of fabric, so alluring it was maddening. Her smile promised more sin than sweetness. He couldn't tear his eyes from her.
The final straw was when Lois she was on the fifth veil. She pirouetted her way up to him and offered him the edge of the fabric. Clark held on as she spun smoothly out of the fabric, only two sheaths left on her. That moment Clark had lost all his willpower to resist her and stood to kiss Lois
"Ugh, ugh." Lois pulled away and waggled her finger at Clark disapprovingly. She continued to dance swigging her hips while her hands and arms moved gracefully waving the veil in the air.
"Lois, why are you doing this to me?" Clark asked frustrated. He could feel his body starting to respond to Lois' erotic dance, making him squirm in need.
Lois walked over to Clark looking at him through the blue veil. "Because I was naughty girl, Officer." she whispered seductively and ran her hands across Clark's chest. "And because I need you." she swirled before she turned to face him again. "So much." she added and grabbed him by the tie, dragging him into the bedroom. A smile grew on her lips when Clark gulped as he fell onto the bed. "You know, you are so sexy in blue." she batted her eyelashes seductively through a slit cut in the veil and threw it up into the air.
Clark caught the veil. "Really?" he raised an eyebrow. "I thought you had fantasies for Superman, not for cops."
Lois bounced her eyebrows at him with delight, pulling another veil off from her costume. "I had only had fantasy about you, Clark." she smiled at himfor a moment and pulled the police cap from his head, throwing across the room.
'I'm only interested in one man in blue.'
"I…"
"I'm only interested in one man in blue. And that man is you." Lois confessed. "So what are you going to do about that?" she asked seductively as she wrapped the veil around Clark's neck and sat firmly in his lap her pulsing core rubbing against his budding erection.
On an impulse, Clark grabbed Lois and kissed her. He clapped at the back of her head, his fingers in her hair and the kiss became deeper, more intense, sending shock waves of desire through his body.
Lois broke away from their kiss and lookedinto Clark's eyes. Theywereclouded by lust and it was the most erotic expression that she had ever seen. She bit her lip as she removed the police uniform from his shoulders and tossed it into the floor. She could feel his body's heat radiating through hisclothes, while she was undoing his tie around his neck. Her need grew animalistic in its intensity. After she let Clark's tie drop to the floor next to his police uniform, she reached the top button of his dress-shirt. For a moment, she was unable to use her hands. Her knuckles felt inflamed. Her mouth hurt. Even her scalp hurt. There wasn't a joint in her body that wasn't sore. Most of all, her body was on fire. She felt desperate for Clark. Finally, she found the strength and started to unbutton his dress-shirt. Her hands were clumsy on the buttons, her knuckles aching and the tips of her fingers on fire. She could barely breathe as she slipped the buttons free of the openings. Her hands kept brushing his bare skin, sending little electrical shocks racing over her own, itching in waves over and over. Lois felt an obstruction in her throat the moment she tugged on the shirt and managed to get it off of Clark, sending it flying to the floor along with everything else.
"Lois." Clark's voice was huskyand low as Lois pushed him down onto the bed. He was already hard and throbbing, ready for her. The familiar scent of cocoanut and vanilla reached his nostrils while he could feel his penis begin to rise in anticipation of what she would do next. His breath hitched the moment Lois moved her hips against his. A tsunami of desire swamped him as his eyes wondered on her body, and the harem costume she wore every inch of her was perfect and beautiful. Clark lifted his eyes back up to Lois' face. She was the most beautiful woman that he had ever seen and she was his. Clark leaned forward to touch her but Lois grabbed his wrists and immobilized them on each side of his head.
"I want you." Lois whispered and moved her hips against his once more. Clark dragged a guttural whimper, as he thrust back. Lois leaned forward and kissed Clark, tracing of his jaw. She clapped her eyes shut and lost herself. She wanted to lick every inch of him…every single inch. Slowly, she let his wrists and started to go down on him.
"Lois." Clark began to protest as he realized her intent. He grabbed her wrists immediately, making Lois to look up and see his face. Clark lowered his eyes on hers. He really couldn't understand why she was doing it.
He watched Lois stretch across his body, her thigh pressing the hard muscles at the side of his waist. He could feel how her body shuddered with ecstasy against his. "Hold still and enjoy it, Farmboy." she cooed into his ear and kissed him, biting his bottom lip seductively.
"Lo-is." Clark said in warning tone.
Lois raised her head and glared at him. "Could you please stop to complain, hold still and let me consecrate?" she demanded obviously irritated. "I have never done this before." she informed and returned to her task.
Clark moaned as Lois trailed kisses down his jaw and to his neck, nipping and sucking. If he had been vulnerable she would havemarks on him, claiming that he was her property. Lois shut her eyes and moved to Clark's chest, trailing her tongue along until he reached Clark's right nipple. She licked it gently sucking and nibbling, circling her tongue on his sensitive skin. "Lois." he moaned. He felt her mouth, her tongue, her teeth to suck, to circle and nip his left nipple this time and ran a hand through Lois' hair. He was helpless, utterly at her mercy. He felt that moment was something divine, beyond belief.
I love you, Lois." His voice was hoarse. He could feel her nails running over his chest and gasped when she suddenly twisted his nipples. Her hands were hot, so wonderfully hot on him; Twin flames, which only made him hotter and any second, he would erupt. This was a side of Lois he hadn't seen before. His cock was getting harder by the second and as Lois continued to play with him, his excitement heightened. "Lois, please!" he begged.
The sound of Clark's pleas sent a jolt to Lois' already throbbing center. She smiled mischievously at his situation. She knew she had power over him and she liked forward close to his face. "You will be at my mercy tonight, Farmboy." she whispered into Clark's ear biting gently his earlobe with her teeth. Slowly kissed her way down to his body once more, praising each part as she moved. Lois held and fondled him while she kissed Clark; while she kissed and licked her way back to the arrow of his chest to tongued his nipples again, savoring his flavor.
"Lo-" he didn't manage to finish his sentence. Lois pressed a finger on his lips silencing him. She stood on the foot of the bed and ran her hands downhis chin and his throat, exploring their way down to his torso. Lois rested her hands onhiswaist and tugged them onhis belt. Clark groaned and stiffened as Lois' handsdeftly unbuckled his belt. His pants were so tight that moment that he thought his zipper might pop right there. He had never believed he could have hardened so much.
Lois' mouth went dry as she knelt and started to undo the button his pants and then pull down the zipper. A shudder ran down her spine in anticipation as she saw him so hard. Her entire body shivered with awareness and she had to fight the urge to cup his cock through his boxers. It took her shaking hands a while to slide his pants and boxers down his long muscular legs and tossed them aside. Lois bit her lower lip. She had never seen him like that. She was awestruck by his size. He was massive, yet elegant. He was a God through and through. He was rigid, mesmerizing, as if chiseled from a slate of granite. She wondered how much amount of cum he could produce that moment which made her more eager to proceed further. She was failing, drowning in a sea of passion.
"Lois." Clark's voice startled Lois out of her daydreaming and slowly she wrapped her fingers around his hard cock. Clark groaned at her touch, his cock twitching.
"You have no idea how much I want you." Lois confessed and started to work her hand up and down, enjoying the silken smoothness of his skin; so soft. Incongruous with the thread of steel she could feel just beneath that satiny layer.
"God Lois!" Clark groaned in torment as she stroked his length slowly. Gently. He could barely breathe. The teasing made him crazy.
Lois only grinned She didn't respond. The time for words wasn't now. She continued working up and down in a slow motion, her fist gripping his cock in a tight sheathe.
Clark rolled his head back. He shut hiseyes, squeezing themand gritted his teeth at Lois' movements.
"Relax, my love. We have not even started."Loiswhispered and rubbedClark's crotch as she massaged his length with her other hand. Slowly, she bent down and gently licked his sac. She flicked out her tongue and licked the tip, moving her hand from his crotch to encircle the base.
Growing bolder and more confident by the minute, she ran her tongue behind his balls and licked the area between them and his asshole. She had read on a magazine that men were getting very hard with that specific technique. Lois made her way back up to the head of Clark's cock, and took it into her mouth. She angled her body to get his cock deeper into her it. He was thick and long. He was very thick and long and she loved it. She had never gone down on a man before Clark. He was different. For one thing, neither Patrick nor Claude had gone down on her but Clark had. For another he was the only man she had truly loved. Plus, he was the first man she had ever been without a condom. She wanted to feel him. To taste and swallow his semen.
Clark shivered. He felt Lois' head move up and down his cock and looked down at her. He was thrilled at the amazing sensation that Lois' glossy dark brown hair generate against his skin. He'd thought her long hair created an exquisite sensation on his body. There was no word that could describe what her tousled hair and mouth were doing to him now.
"Holy-!" Clark cursed and threw his head completely back. His mind blurred as he felt a tongue graze against the head of his dick, lapping softly at the slit which was currently leaking precum, with Lois almost drinking it like an animal. He grunted when her lips found their way over his cock, starting to suck and lick around the top but slowly getting lower, taking more and more of him in with each suck. It took a lot of willpower not to thrust directly into her mouth. Clark began to groan. His eyes were completely shut and his Adam's apple was throbbing in a mixture of agony and pleasure. Lois' mouth was so warm but at the same time so wet. Clark let out a stifled moan, and grabbed Lois' hair harder knowing right now that she was deep-throating him and God, it did feel so good. He had read that blowjob could be mind blowing but he didn't expect it to be so awesome. It was the best feeling he'd ever felt.
Lois released Clark's cock from her mouth and smiled. She parted lips few moments later, letting the head push into her mouth again. Slowly, she worked him deeper, relaxing her jaw. She let each stroke to push a little more, until the tip of Clark's cock was hitting the back of her throat, while the forefinger and thumb of her free hand were gripping the loose skin above the testicles.
Clark's entire body became to tremble, biting out a curse. He was in a moment of pure ecstasy. His breath quickened and felt a familiar sensation building up within his stomach, as he got close. His muscles had tightened and his entire body tensed on his struggle for control.
"Lois." Clark whispered.
Lois didn't stop. On the contrary, she sped up her rhythmic techniques. She ignored his effort to pull away and continued to flick her tongue at the tip of Clark's shaft, nearly teasing him, and dive in for a deep swallow. She began feel the cum seep and flow from the tip of his cock. He tasted hot and salty. Lois raised her head and met Clark's gaze.
Clark's vision became blurry for a split-second. His head was lightweight and he couldn't feel his legs. His body trembled and his toes curled as he made a sweet release. "Lois." he groaned a low, inaudible grunt and spilled his seed into Lois' mouth.
Lois felt Clark's hot seed, filling her throat. She kept swallowing franticly as Clark continued to spurt into her mouth, spreading the taste and feel of his hot salty cum to every part. "Mmmmmm," she moaned when she tasted sperm for the first time in her life. She had never done it before with another man and the fact that it was coming from Clark's cock overcame any hesitation she might have had. Lois kept sucking Clark for a long time after the last drop was pumped into her mouth and eagerly swallowed. She pulled away and looked up at Clark who was staring at her. His face was filled with what could only be described as amazement and shock.
Clark's hand was still tangled in Lois' hair and began to flex gently before he slid around to caress her cheek, his thumb smoothing across her bottom lip. "Come here," Clark said as he hauled Lois up against him, looping his hands underneath her armpits and their mouths met in a fiery clash. He kissed her, hot and breathless, his tongue dueling with hers. Sweat poured down his back as he pulsated faster when he tasted himself into Lois' mouth, because, Hell, he had never believed he would pump his semen into a woman's mouth. It seemed he had many 'firsts' with Lois and he had to admit that he loved it.
Lois broke the kiss and looked deep into Clark's eyes erotically. Her core ached, her pulse throbbing with need while the bottom of her harem costume was soaked and damp with her juices. Lois couldn't help it. She wanted, needed Clark inside of her.
Clark's hands stroked her delicate skin on her back before one of them held safe her head from behind while the other one found the clasp to the top of the harem costume and un-clapped it, pulling it away from her body. Grunting in pleasure, he then drew her downward to capture her lips and initiated the earth-shattering kiss between them. He could feel her shiver in his arms, could hear her breath hitch ever so slightly with pleasure when his fingertips ran across her breasts down to stomach.
"Clark." Lois whimpered when Clark slid his hand inside the bottom of her harem costume and began to work his fingers in her entrance.
"You are so tight." Clark hummed into Lois' ear and pushed his middle and ring finger into her, feeling the wonderful squeeze of her walls.
"Clark, I need you now." Lois begged.
Clark used his thumb to rub circles over her clit, then running it up and down her folds to spread the wetness that was flowing. He continued to push his other fingers into Lois' entrance while his other arm kept her grounded as she shook from the pleasure.
"Clark I'm not going to ask you again." Lois declared frustrated and impatiently.
"You are so sweet." Clark murmured in hoarse voice, pushing the bottom of Lois' harem costume, down her legs, withdrawing his hand from her as he helped her kick it.
Lois placed her hands on Clark's shoulders and then looked down so she could slowly guide his engorged length into her. She gasped as she felt the tip penetrate her. "Oh Clark." she moaned softly as she lowered herself onto him inch by inch, pushing herself farther and farther down onto him until she came to rest in his lap, the entirety of his length buried to the hilt inside her.
They let out a satisfied sigh together, each staying still for a moment, enjoying the feeling of being reunited again. Clark laced his hands onto Lois' hips. It was exquisite. When she was on top like this, he could penetrate her so deeply, it felt like heaven. Clark shuddered, as Lois raised herself up then sat back down on him, gripping him good and tight. He grasped her hips more to move her into him deeper. He could feel the tip of his length brush up against her G-spot repeatedly.
Lois kept moving slowly on Clark. She lifted her hips, going up until his member was only halfway inside her before coming back down. She let out an inaudible sigh from the feeling as she slowly rode Clark, using her hips to aid into her. She wanted to feel every single inch, every vein and contour of his massive hard length as it slid deep inside of her. Lois let out a soft whisper as she threw her head back in pleasure. The slow rhythmic push of Clark's length felt so fantastic, as it was hitting all the right places that drove her wild.
Clark's hands rose from Lois' hips to cause exquisite torture to her breasts, squeezing and pinching her nipples and kneading her flesh. He moaned lightly as he felt her walls cling to him, her warmth and wetness sending a surge of pleasure with each hump. He could feel every ripple, every spasm, every greedy squeeze. The hot slide of his length between her legs was maybe the best sensation he had ever felt in his life, because he was always at his best when he was with her.
"Lois." Clark mumbled and moved his mouth down to Lois' breasts. He was teasing, sucking, and nudging them with tongue and teeth until he brought them to acutely hard points.
"Urmh...Clark." Lois moaned his name the moment he started to tease her nipples. She felt her blood racing through her body as every cell came alive every time Clark was worshipping her like that.
"Your skin tastes so nice." Clark told Lois and tightened his grip on her waist as he helped her move up and down on him "Just the right amount of sweet and salty combined." he licked her breast and pulled the nipple into his mouth, showing the same devotion on the other breast afterwards.
"Oh God." Lois hissed and threw her head back in pleasure. She reached behind her and put her hands on top of Clark's thighs, shifting her angle and taking him deeper into her body. "I need you so much."
Clark closed his mouth and began sucking on Lois' nipples, his tongue circling around them and biting on them with his teeth. "I need you so much more." he confessed and kissed Lois passionate on the lips. He arched his shoulders, grabbed her hips and ass in his hands and took over, moving Lois up and down as he raised his hips up to meet her thrusts.
Lois moved Clark's hands from her hips and laced her fingers through his. She continued to ride him slowly, swiveling her hips as she ground her pussy on his length in a clockwise motion, swirling it within her, feeling the tip of it right up inside her walls.
Their rhythm was instantly, with Clark thrusting into Lois as she bucked her hips in response, lifting herself up and down and stroking his length with her wonderful pussy letting him bury it as deep inside her as he possibly could.
Pleasure was coming in overlapping waves now, and Clark leaned his head back and tried to keep control. They kept eye contact as they let out a gasp every time Lois brought herself down and brought himself up. Their bodies worked simultaneously as two well-oiled machines. There was fire there. Her fire. His fire. She felt it in her belly. He felt it in his cock. Lois sighed and moaned.
Feeling that Lois was close to the edge, Clark wrapped his arms around her waist, causing her to fall forward against his chest, her hard nipples dragging across his broad chest with each thrust. He moaned as he felt her muscles clench around him, gripping him and milking every inch of him.
Lois pulled away, placed her hands on Clark's hard-muscled chest to help steady herself and began to move against him slowly, seductively but hard. She gripped his hips with her thighs let him carry her over the edge.
Clark grunted and groaned. Just when he was losing it, slipping right over the edge, he felt Lois tremble and come, her juices coating him.
Clark felt the white-hot clench and release as Lois shuddered. He clasped his hands with hers, and gasped with relief and joy as he followed her into sweet oblivion, spilling his seed inside of her. He looked at her body gleaming with sweat, feeling her wetness all over his groin. "That was….." he trailed off still trembling from the aftershocks of his orgasm. When he could see again, Clark blinked and found Lois to lie her head against his chest, he still buried inside her, she still astride him. Clark lovingly smoothed Lois' sweaty bangs from her face.
"Mmmm." Lois hummed with a satisfied purr on top of Clark.
They couldn't find the right wordsto describe how they felt that moment as the vibratory forces of their bodiesandsouls were still at peak power by their sexual union. Naked and tangled in the luxurious sheets of the Honeymoon Suite's king-sized bed, they spent a few moments in the shadows just making out, allowing their bodies to prepare for the notion of another round of lovemaking.
"We are not leaving this room until Monday." Lois declared after a few minutes of silence and straddled Clark one more time.
"Are you sure about this?" Clark asked and scratched his head uncertain staring at the contents of the supermarket cart.
Lois who was busy reading the information in a carton of milk, frowned and looked at the items they had already gotten. There was a vaster array of junk food, including chips, popcorns, cookies and bars of cereals. "Do I need to remind you of the amount of junk food I had found in your hotel room when you first came in Metropolis?" she looked at Clark with her eyebrows raised questioningly.
"Did it ever cross your mind that I couldn't cook a proper meal over there and I had to eat all those things?" Clark pointed out thoughtfully.
"You are right." Lois admitted in resignation and placed the milk carton in the cart. "Besides, most of them are mine." she mumbled looking at their shopping list.
She loved to go shopping with Clark, to play board games and see movies and other 'couple things'. It was just really nice to feel. Since the beginning of their partnership she had never gotten bored of doing something or working with him. Besides, Clark was the only the only partner she could ever stand to work with that's why she wanted him to come to LNN and work with her when the Planet was bombed. He was the only true friend she had. It was one of the reasons she had turned him down in the park when he confessed his true feelings about her. It was the reason she hesitated at first to go on a date with him when Clark asked her. She couldn't jeopardize her friendship with Clark. She just couldn't lose Clark.
"Yea." Clark laughed as he wheeled the shopping cart down the aisle, following Lois.
"So, only few things left for us to buy." Lois informed as she and Clark walked over to the other sections of the store.
Clark looked over Lois' shoulder at the shopping list as he kept pushing his shopping cart. "No Double Fudge Crunch bar and No Extra Cream Cheese Original?" he questioned when he saw that his girlfriend's favorite snack and cheese were not in the list.
"Oh Clark." Lois said with a slight smile. "Since I have found out about-you know who-" she emphasized with a knowing look. "And you have begun to spoil me with Swiss chocolates from Switzerland and Camembert straight from France, the American food products seem to me like subordinate substitutes."
"Subordinate substitutes?" Clark echoed. "Wow." he chuckled impressed.
The couple pushed the shopping cart around the store, stopping occasionally to place an item on their full-field cart or reading the label of that, until they turned down to the Personal Care and Hygiene aisle.
"Clark, really?" Lois exclaimed in disbelief when she saw the amount of the hair gel tubes that Clark was buying.
"You know I have a pretty good reason." Clark winked at her.
"Right." Lois turned away and paid her attention to the body lotions in front of her.
"Hey, Lois, look at this." Clark called with a smirk when his eyes fell on the shelf in front of him.
Lois placed a deodorant, shampoo, a conditioner, and a shower gel in the shopping cart and looked at Clark. "You gotta be kidding me." she said incredulously when Clark dumped his purchase into the shopping cart. "TROJAN. FIRE & ICE. XL MAGNUM. Extra ribbed for extra pleasure." she read quietly with a frown the words inscribed on the brightly-colored box. "Clark, it's not even your size." she argued rolling her eyes and put the box back on the shelf.
"Huh?" Clark's eyes widened and his jaws dropped open at Lois' statement. Did she mean that he wasn't…
"Clark." Lois rushed to explain upon seeing Clark. "I wanted to say that you are so…" she paused for the moment to think of the right word. "Gifted." she whispered, wrapping her arms around Clark's neck. "That well you know…" she winked at him. "Not to mention that we are so…." she paused. "Active that probably we'd grow broke if we used them."
"Really?" Clark asked with a grin.
"Aha," Lois nodded. "Trust me Clark, none size in the World is appropiate."
"And how do you know that?" Clark raised his eyebrows intrigued.
Lois rolled her eyes. "I' am not very experienced on the intimacy threshold, but I'm not a virgin either." she responded. "And you are so…well endowed." she explained. "And by the way, I have to admit that I love that you cum inside me." she whispered when she made sure that no one was around and kissed Clark quickly on the lips.
Clark laughed blushing at Lois' bold complements. "So…"
"So why don't we go to pay and go home, huh?" Lois suggested. "So you will take me to bed afterwards." she murmured. "By the way, inside the box where you had packed the Police Uniform, I also found the US Army Uniform." she informed running her hands over his chest. "Back then in Fort Truman you looked so sexy on it." she went on in the same tone. "The way it stretched so perfectly over your muscles…" she trailed off "Although they say it only in the Navy…Aye, aye, Captain Kent." she whispered seductively and ran her hand lightly over his crotch.
Clark's jaw tensed. "Okay." his lips parted, a contented sigh escaping, a spark of pleasure coursed through his body. He could feel the tightness between his legs begin to form. He shuddered trying to make his hardening arousal to crawl back down. This was bad. This was really bad.
"So any plans for you birthday day?" he asked abruptly trying that moment to focus on anything but Lois.
Lois looked at him questioningly. "How did that come up, now?"
"Well, your birthday is soon approaching in August." Clark pointed out amused and began to push the shopping cart, relieved as the bulge in his pants seemed to disappear.
"Yea. In three and a half weeks." Lois mumbled as they headed to the checkout.
They both were silent when they reached the check out and waited on the line. Two worldwide famous reporters discussing their personal life in public was not a wise thing to do. Especially, after what almost happened to the Personal Care and Hygiene aisle. Lois and Clark remained silent as they unloaded their shopping onto the conveyor belt. They tried to avoid the eyes of the cashier when she scanned the shopping and assisted them with packing. "So?" Clark questioned once more as he was handed his credit card back along with the receipt.
"What?" Lois asked intensely, wondering that Clark had mind.
"Have you scheduled anything for your birthday?" Clark asked as he wheeled their full cart out of the supermarket. "I mean with your folks."
Lois stopped for a moment and looked at Clark incredulously. "Really?" she asked helplessly before she rolled her eyes and began to walk. "My father would just call, if he is not too busy to forget my birthday." she started. "Lucy would probably call too, if she's not too busy with a new boyfriend." she added. "As for my mother, well, my mother will definitely call and tell me that I'm unwed for one more year. I just can't, Clark." she said desperately. "It's the same every year." she finished. "Why do you ask?" she turned to Clark. "You and your folks haven't scheduled any surprise birthday party in Smallville, have you?"
"Why? Don't you want to spend your birthday with me and my folks?" Clark as they reached Lois' Jeep.
"Are you kidding me?" Lois exclaimed. "Quite the contrary, I love your parents! They're just so...not insane."
Clark laughed but his laughter died down quickly when his super-hearing kicked in and tilted his head.
"What?" Lois asked when a familiar expression crossed Clark's face.
"Hey pal." Clark called the guy who was parking next to them that moment. "Can you turn the volume up, please?" he asked.
"Sure." the guy replied and turned the volume up on the radio frequency Clark had just heard.
"Two explosions occurred at the port of the city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon this morning." the announcer's voice was heard through the radio. "The damage of the blasts affected over half of Beirut and there are reports of hundreds of people trapped and buried-"
Lois and Clark exchanged anxious looks, and Lois nodded to him.
Clark kissed Lois quickly on the lips and immediately dashed away, disappearing into a nearby alley.
"Thanks." Lois nodded her appreciation to the guy.
She sighed when the familiar sonic boom resonated in the alley across the parking lot and looked up at the sky where Superman's bold entrancing colors splay out in a ribbon threaded among the clouds. It was obvious that shopping would be her only physical activity with her partner that day. Crestfallen she opened the trunk of her Jeep and began to unload her and Clark's shopping into it.
"Is there any way I can help you, Ms. Lane?" she heard a familiar male voice ask.
Lois slammed the trunk shut. Her eyes widened when she turned and looked over to the person who shouted her name.
"Dan." she called with an uneasy smile. There it was Dan Scardino standing right in front of her after almost three months. He was dressed in a black suit with a white top on underneath a dark expensive-looking jacket. She was surprised to see him here in Metropolis. The last time she met him he had told her he was assigned to Los Angeles. To be honest, Lois never expected to see Dan again.
"Please, call me Daniel." Dan replied playfully as he took off his Ray-Ban sunglasses and winked at her.
"What-What are you doing here?" Lois asked with a genuine smile after the initial shock.
"You didn't expect to see me here again, did you?" Dan flashed one of his famous goofy grins as he put his sunglasses back on.
"Well, you told me that you took an assignment in LA." Lois argued sweetly.
"Lois I just finished shopping, how about getting up a cup of coffee, across the street?" he suggested as he shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants.
"Thank you." Lois smiled. "But umm, I don't think it's a good idea." She had to admit that she enjoyed Dan's company, his instant flirt and even his annoying jokes sometimes. She wanted more than anything to drink a cup of coffee with a friend, but she also was aware of how Dan felt for her. Lois knew very well that the DEA Agent still wanted to be more than just friends with her. She also knew how Clark felt for Dan. How Clark would feel if he found out that she met Dan and accepted his invitation to drink a cup of coffee together?
"Lois, we will just drink a cup of coffee together." Dan pointed out.
Lois let out a sigh of surrender. "Okay." she nodded still unsure about her decision.
"After you." Dan smiled and with his right hand motioned for Lois to lead the way.
"So, what are you doing here in Metropolis?" Lois asked, taking a sip of her coffee. "No. Let me guess. You can't tell me."
"Actually, yea." Dan said uneasy because of Lois' attitude. "All I can tell is that my visit here has to do the case I was working in L.A."
"A story that it could knock people's socks off." Lois commented intrigued.
"Trust me if you are good girl and I un-wrap this story, you will get the exclusive." Dan half joked. "How things are here in Metropolis?" he asked changing the subject, when he saw Lois' discomfort at his comment. "I hope Supe was not sued again by another bum all this time I'm away."
Lois laughed. "No. He does what he always did." she said and took a sip of her coffee. "He's fighting for Truth, Justice and The American Way."
"And Clark?" Dan asked carefully.
Lois smiled uncomfortably. "He also fights for Truth, Justice and The American Way." she responded. "With other means, of course." she rushed to clarify. "He had to go in Smallville for a few days because he had some personal things to take care of." she told the cover story she had created to explain Clark's absence to Perry.
"And are you two together now?" Dan asked in a low voice.
"Yes. Clark and I are dating." Lois answered, hoping the news would get Dan to back off. She was right about his feelings. She was right about his intention to test the waters and see if there was any chance about them.
"At least he did stop to run off, giving lame excuses?" Dan questioned bitterly. "Did he stop to run off at all?" he asked more intense.
"Dan." Lois hissed her voice raspy and low. He had no right to talk like that about Clark. If only he knew the reasons of Clark's disappearances. But on the other hand he couldn't have known and Dan's reaction was completely justified. After all, she was reacting the same way before finding out the truth.
"Sorry." Dan apologized. "It's not of my business." He sensed her discomfort and feared that his comment was going to cause her to become reticent. However, he couldn't understand how a woman like Lois could tolerate that kind of degradation by a man. "But I want you to be happy." he reached over and patted her hand on the table.
Lois pulled her hand back immediately. "It's okay." Lois told uneasy. "Look." she looked at her watch. "I really have to go." she stood from her chair.
"I will be around, Lois. I hope to see you again, soon." Dan stood also from his chair. "You know have a lunch or a dinner together."
"Goodbye Dan." Lois said solemnly and turned to leave.
"Goodbye." Dan responded shoved his hands into the pockets of his pants. 'We will see about that.' he thought to himself.
That night was one of few days that Lois would not be in Clark's arms since they became a couple. After her accidental meeting with Dan she had gone to her apartment to drop her stuff and called Perry to inform him for Clark's absence with the cover she had come up with, before she had driven to Clark's brownstone house. Every time Clark's duties as Superman kept them apart, she preferred to stay at his place, so she would feel close to him as much as she could. Dressed in Clark's Smallville Crows football jersey and under the comforter of Clark's bed, Lois watched with admiration and pride as Clark struggled to move tons of rubble and twisted metal singlehandedly and save trapped people from the wreckage. Lois smiled through happy tears. This was Clark. The man of steel. The man who was physically the stronger man in the World, yet the most vulnerable mentally while he was trying to shoulder the burden of not being able to help as much as he thought he should. The man who would sacrifice his own life for other people's lives, the manwho would sacrifice his own happiness for the others, the man who cared for her happiness more than his own. This was Clark Kent and she loved him more than anything and anyone in the World. Lois wiped the tears with the back of her hand, and turned off the TV. She lay in bed under the covers, shutting her eyes and tucked the black teddy bear that Clark had won for her in the Corn Festival almost one year ago, when he had been exposed to Kryptonite for the first time, securely under her left arm, smelling of his aftershave on his pillows. Although Clark was half across the World, in way he would be with her, because she was certain the moment she would slip off into dreamland, he would join her.
"Ugh." Lois groaned the moment she stepped out of the elevator into the newsroom, clutching her cup of coffee like it was the only thing that mattered. The sleep the previous night had not come no matter how much she had wished for it. She had grown used to having Clark. She had desperately missed his arms the previous night and 'Clarkie', the name she had given to the teddy bear, had been a poor substitute. With a double shot of coffee safely in her hand, Lois dragged her feet down the ramp to her desk. Exhausted from the lack of sleep her mood didn't seem like it was going to get any better, no matter how much coffee she drank. Lois looked awful, she knew it. Her eyes were red, she had dark circles under her eyes and her hair just wouldn't behave this morning.
"Rough night, huh?" Jimmy commented after he approached Lois' desk with a manila folder in his hand.
"Jimmy you know how much I love you, but now zip it." Lois grumbled exhaustedly, setting her briefcase on her desk and took a large gulp of her coffee.
"Here's the stuff you wanted, Lois." Jimmy raised the manila folder in his hand.
Lois grabbed the manila folder from Jimmy and began to thumb through the pages.
"You were right." Jimmy said. "According to the phone records Former D.A. Clemmons had frequent communication with Bill Church Senior during his son's custody."
"Yea." Lois said and shut the folder. "But that doesn't link Clemmons to Intergang." she argued yawning. "Whatever Clark and I know is not enough for Perry to let us work on the story officially."
"Speaking of CK have you talked with him at all?" Jimmy asked. "When will he come back?"
"He's fine." Lois said and tried to cover her lie up by gulping her coffee. She hadn't talked to Clark since the moment they had separated on the parking lot. Whatever she had found out about him the couple of hours was through the TV and Internet. She couldn't call him to ask him how he was. She couldn't call him to encourage him to go on. She couldn't call him to tell him how much she loved him. She would just sit there waiting for Clark.
"Okay just tell me that if he needs anything Chief and I are here." Jimmy assured.
Lois smiled warmly. "Thanks Jimmy."
"Copy boy!" someone shouted.
"Duty calls." Jimmy smiled at Lois and walked away.
Lois looked at Clark's desk the moment Jimmy left and she sighed. It would be a very difficult day at the office without him there.
"This is frustrating!" Lois groaned and slammed the folders on her desk. That story had driven her completely crazy. She was going through the research she and Clark had done the past week on Clemmons and his possible connection to Intergang, but she hit a wall. Nothing could prove that the Former DA had tampered with evidence on the case of Bill Church Jr. and other cases where members of Intergang were acquitted while he was the prosecutor. And without proofs there was no story. She and Clark had talked on every police informant and every snitch of the city but they had come to a dead end. Lois threw her pencil across her desk with a sigh and stared at Clark's desk. Would Clark return home tonight or would she spend one more night alone? Would she make love with Clark that night and sleep in his arms or would she spend another wakeful night with a stuffed teddy bear?
"Hi." a male's voice broke her out of her reverie, pulling her back to the present.
Startled, Lois looked up to see Dan standing over her desk smiling at her. "Uh, Dan, what are you doing here?" she asked uneasy.
"I told you I will be around to ask you out to lunch or dinner." Dan responded. "Why are you surprised?"
"Look, Dan." Lois began. "Clark is out of Metropolis and I have to do all the work by myself." she stood grabbing the folders from her desk. "And I don't think it would be good idea to-"
"Lois it's just a lunch between friends." Dan assured.
Lois stood and thought for a moment. It would be just lunch between friends. She would have with a friend of hers a meal in public without any ulterior motive. She was certain that Clark would have not a problem with that, especially when she had intention for telling him about the meeting. Besides, she wouldn't have problem if Clark had lunch with Lana sometime. On the other hand, Lana didn't have romantic feelings about Clark. Dan though…And the few weird remarks he made during they drank their coffee…Lois shook mentally herself. She was probably overreacting to a simple meal with a friend. There was nothing bad about it.
"Well Dan." Lois started with a smile. "I-"
"Lois!" she heard Perry yell at her and turned in the direction of her boss' voice. He was standing outside his office door, "My office, pronto." he beckoned her to come toward him.
"Sorry, Dan." Lois apologized and set her folders back on her desk. "Like I told you I've work to do." she said and made her way toward Perry' office.
"See ya around, Lois." Dan waved Lois as he watched her walk away.
"You wanted to see me, Chief?" Lois asked as she shut the door behind her the moment she entered Perry's office.
"Lois, have a seat please." Perry motioned for Lois to sit on the chair across his desk.
"Look, chief." Lois began to explain. "If it has to do with the story that Clark and I are working about Clemmons and his possible connection with Intergang, maybe I should tell you-"
"Lois." Perry interrupted. "It's not about the story." he assured. "Just sit." he told once more before he sat on his chair behind his desk.
"Okay." Lois nodded and did as she was told.
"Now Lois can you explain me one thing?" Perry asked. "What in the Sam Hill was Scardino doing here?"
"Perry I can explain." Lois tried to defend herself.
"Let me tell you a few things, Lois." Perry interrupted Lois and stood from his chair. "I normally make it a point to stay out of my reporters' personal lives, but I just can't help myself with you two." he confessed as he rounded his desk.
"Perry-"
"No, no let me finish, Lois." Perry cut Lois short. "At the beginning I was on your side." he started to walk around his office. "Clark had that childish and most of all odd behavior, but now Lois it will be your fault."
"Perry-"
"Clark loves you so much that he will walk on water for you or he'd drown trying." Perry once more didn't let Lois to finish her sentence. "And now that Scardino came back into the scene.-"
"Perry!" Lois practically screamed. "We just drank a cup of coffee."
"What?" Perry asked incredulously. "Were you on date with him, already?" he rolled his eyes disapprovingly.
"We just drank a cup of coffee, Perry." Lois defended. "And now he wants us to have dinner or lunch. You know Scardino's a thick skull."
"Lois." Perry said in warning tone and sat on the edge of his desk, facing Lois. "Be careful with Scardino." he advised. "He will cause problems between you and Clark." he added. "Ι don't want to live a Norcross and Judd situation all over again. Understood?"
"Yes." Lois swallowed hard.
"Don't break Clark's heart." Perry begged.
"I won't." Lois stood and nodded tightly at the chief, managing to escape his office and retreat to the relative privacy of her desk. She leaned against the desk and stared at Clark's desk which was empty. Why so many people believed that she would hurt Clark's heart and they begged her not to? Did they believe that she remained so coldhearted as she had been in the past? Lois shook her head, pushing those negative thoughts away focused on the folders in front of her.
The day dragged by at a slow pace everything completely monotonous. It was night and the Planet newsroom was close to deserted; only a skeleton crew remained to make sure that the next day's early edition was produced without any hitches. This was one of Lois' favorite times of the day. It was quiet enough to think and work without distractions, while the sound of the skeleton crew moving around was enough to keep her from feeling alone, at least, most of the time, and yet they seldom bothered her. Exhausted, Lois shut the folders in front of her and rubbed her eyes before she stood abruptly from her chair and grabbed her briefcase. Lois pressed the button of the lobby the moment she entered the elevator and leaned against the cool wall, shutting her eyes for a moment's rest. Since she was a child, that little time she was doing this process was precious for her. It helped her to expel her stress, to regroup her body and soul at the same time. She always felt refreshed when she was opening her eyes afterwards. It was like she was sleeping all that time she kept them close. The 'ding' which announced the arrival on the lobby, made her to open the eyes and rush out of it bumping into a man.
"I'm sor—Dan? What are you doing here, again?" Lois asked pointedly almost annoyed by Dan's reappearance.
"I told you, I will be around." Dan flashed one his famous smiles.
Lois rolled her eyes. That guy never knew when he had to give up. Lois walked briskly towards the revolving doors of the Planet and exited the building.
"He'll break your heart again." Dan hissed through gritted teeth, balling up his fists tightly as he followed Lois outside the building. "He always does. Look what he is doing now." he reasoned as kept walking behind her. "He's having fun in his hometown only God knows with whom and they are laughing at you."
At Dan's words, Lois couldn't hold her rage anymore and in one swift motion she stopped to walk and turned slapping him across the cheek. "How dare you?" she snapped. If only Dan knew what Clark was doing while he was making a dig at him.
Dan had a smug smile on his lips as he stared at Lois. She was an extraordinary woman; Beauty united with fiery temper - an irresistible combination that he couldn't resist. Without a second thought, Dan grabbed Lois and kissed her fiercely. Almost three months of frustration fueled the hunger behind this kiss.
Anger flashed through Lois. She immediately pushed Dan away and slapped him across his face without hesitation for second time that night. "Don't you ever try something like that again Scardino." she warned pointing her finger at him. "Try it again and I will file a restraining order against you." she turned and walked toward her Jeep which was parked across the street.
Lois sighed heavily as she slammed the door of her apartment still shaken up by the incident with Dan outside the Planet. She was still mad at herself at how much she naïve she was about Scardino's intentions. How did he dare to kiss her when he knew very well she was in relationship with Clark? But then again, she should have known. Although Dan knew she was seeing Clark, he kept making a pass at her. And that night where Clark found Dan there at her apartment, while she was in her pajamas, her hair still wet from the shower.
'It must have been some chat for you to need a shower.'
She bit the inside of her cheek. She had hurt so much Clark that time and the following months.
'I guess he's starting to get on my nerves a bit.'
Suddenly Clark's dislike about Dan made sense. When it came to men she was an idiot for one more time. With a shaky breath, Lois threw her briefcase across the room as she leaned against the door and reached for the light switch.
"I've been waiting for you here for two hours." Clark said in a serious tone the moment Lois switched the light on. He was sitting on Lois' loveseat.
"Clark!" Lois exclaimed happily. She had missed him so much. Seeing Clark at her apartment was the best thing that could happened that crazy day and the incident with Dan suddenly didn't matter anymore. Soon she would be in the arms of the man she loved. Lois hurried toward Clark wrapping her arms around his neck the moment he stood from the loveseat. She was taken aback when Clark grabbed Lois' wrists, unwrapping her arms around his neck and pulled away from when she leaned up to kiss him.
"Is something wrong, Clark?" Lois asked confused at Clark's reaction. Usually when he returned from a rescue which had ended badly, he needed to talk to her, he needed her support, but this time he was distant. Something was wrong she could feel it.
"Like I told you I have been waiting for you here for two hours." Clark repeated in the same tone. "I went to my place but you weren't there." he shoved his hand into the pockets of his pants and began to walk around Lois' living room. "Then I came here but you were missing And I waited for almost 1 and half an hour." he continued as he took a framed photo of his and Lois' in his hand and looked at it. "So I assumed you were at the Planet and I came over there." he set the photo back on the coffee table. "And I saw you from across the street." he turned and looked at Lois. "With Scardino."
"Clark I can explain." Lois begged. "I...It's not-"
"It's not what you think, you misunderstood?" Clark asked full of sarcasm and hurt as he took a few step toward Lois, stopping less than a foot away from her.
"Sort of." Lois replied softly. "Listen, all of sudden, he grabbed me and kissed me." she replied. "If you had stayed a little longer, you would have seen that I slapped him across his face for what he did." she defended. "You do believe me, Clark, don't you?"
"Under the circumstances, I don't see how I can, Lois." Clark said bluntly.
Lois swallowed hard and blanched as she remembered the last time he had said those words to her. She had hurt Clark so much back then and it was obvious she had hurt him the same tonight. However, it wasn't her fault. Her only mistake was that she trusted Dan. "Look." Lois swallowed hard. "One month ago you told me that the truth is what you tell me and what I tell you." her voice was shaking as she spoke the words. "Because that's the kind of relationship we have to have. That there will be no more lies and secrets between us and now are you saying that you don't believe me?" she questioned, unable to keep the disbelief and sorrow out of her voice.
Clark sat on the couch, taking off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "And the truth is?"
Lois let out a deep sigh and took a seat on the loveseat across from Clark. She had to tell Clark everything; she couldn't keep from him what really happened between her and Dan those two days he was away. She had to own up to her mistakes the same way Clark had. Lois began to recount the events from her meeting with Dan to the supermarket's parking lot, the conversation they had as they drank coffee and his constant annoyance since then, her discussion with Perry to the incident outside the Planet.
"So if Perry hadn't stopped you, you would have gone out to lunch with Dan." Clark concluded and rubbed the back of his neck obviously upset by the revelations.
"It would have been a simple meal with a friend." Lois defended. It was a lie. She knew that very well. Dan could have never seen her as friend not with the behavior he always had around her. Lois dismissed the signs and she paid the price.
Clark stood from the couch and began to walk around the room. "I know that you really believed that, Lois." he responded. "But you should have known. Scardino-" he paused. "Anyway, it doesn't matter. What really matters is what I always feared has just happened."
"What do you mean?" Lois asked in a confused tone.
"Look." Clark grabbed his jacket from the couch. "I really can't do this right now." he added. "I really need some time alone to think, eh and to figure out…." he trailed off.
Lois just nodded in response, not trusting her voice which would surely be restrained by the rush of emotion and wiped a tear from her left eye with her fingers. He needed time and she would respect that.
They shared a look, both wanting to say something more to ease the tension, but both were too stubborn to make that first move.
Clark walked toward the door wearing the jacket. He gave a last glance at Lois before he walked out of the apartment.
Lois jumped and silent tearsbegan to gush from her own eyes the moment Clark slammed the door behind him. That night was not supposed to end up like that.
Well, I have to admit that the way I ended the chapter was…well I will agree with you and your thoughts.
Anyway, as far as the mention on the movie "Tango and Cash" is concerned I couldn't resist of referring to it after I watched "Metallo" and Teri as Lois wondered who Sylvester Stalone was. LOL!
