A/N: Man it sure has been a while, huh. Sorry about that, I just really haven't been thinking about or watching Miraculous that much at all. But I didn't want to leave the story unfinished, because that would be so disappointing to everybody who was invested in it, even if it was only one or two people.
It was nice that Dad owned a hotel. The big kitchen was easy to learn in. Mom would teach me how to cook. It was perfect and nothing bad ever happened. The teenage girl finished writing the lie in her journal. She walked in the direction of the kitchen she was just discussing. It was never super bad, but not ever perfect. Most times she was to learn something, it would just result in screaming matches.
"Hi mother, what are we making today?" She said as she walked down into the room. Instead of seeing her mother with ingredients set out on the table, she saw her mother kissing a man. A man who wasn't her father.
"Wh-What are you doing?!"
The mother gasped, "You saw nothing!" She opened the walk-in refrigerator and started to push her daughter in it. She was embarrassed and panicked that her daughter had found out her secret.
"MOM! WHY ARE YO-" Her mother walked over and put her hand on her daughter's mouth.
"Shhh, you don't want dad to know about this! This man here, he's important to me! You don't want to take somebody important away from me, do you?" The daughter bit her hand.
"OW!" The mother pushed her daughter off of her and the man who she was intimate with held open the door to the walk in freezer, the daughter stumbled into it.
She sat there and cried. Hawkmoth heard her and smiled, he was ready.
"Now this is a special one, a deep anger and sadness that has been building for such a long time. This akuma will bring chaos to all of Paris!"
The butterfly turned black and quickly flew out of Hawkmoth's gaping window. It flew out through the town and swiftly flew under the crack in the freezer door. It flew right into the fingerless glove that was on her left hand.
"Hello, Feuzelle I am Hawkmoth. You have been ignored for too long! I am granting you the power of fire! Burst out of this chamber and set fire to this whole town! The whole world is going to know your name! Just remember, as you're enacting your chaos please bring me the miraculouses of Ladybug and Chat Noir, their Earrings and Ring."
"Of course Hawkmoth! Thank you for this gift, I will make you proud!"
"You better, because if you don't I will take your gift away."
The girl's arms and legs shot out into fire, she started floating and exploded as soon as she transformed. The freezer door flew off and trapped her mother and the boyfriend. The whole room was lit aflame and every object was a burning symbol of anger. She flew out of the hotel as if being propelled by a jetpack. The whole town saw a giant flame of which she was on top.
"Oh! I have to… go… somewhere right now!" Marinette said immediately after she saw the fire.
"Ok! Stay safe!" Adrien said as he ran into an alley and quickly transformed, Marinette transformed behind a wall, much closer to the akumatized girl. They ran out into the street to find each other. They emerged from their hiding spots at the same time, mirroring each other. Joining in the middle, they faced the threat, Ladybug slightly in front.
"Do you have any idea where her akuma is?"
"Well, I'm not sure but Hawkmoth has been putting them in places we usually don't expect lately." Ladybug turned back to look at Chat Noir, he responded,
"Maybe it's in a shoe or something?" His mind was scattered, his conversation before was interrupted so abruptly. He really was going to tell Marinette about his feelings, he'd never had to do that before or at least never had to be so sincere about it. It made being Chat Noir quite difficult, it was hard to focus as Chat in the first place.
"Yeah, a shoe that's invisible and engulfed in flames, great place to hide it. Think before you guess." Ladybug was pretty annoyed that the akumatization happened while she was hearing what she had always wanted to hear from Adrien.
"Well… nevermind where the akuma is now, we have to make sure to stop her from doing anything worse."
The fire burned bright in the distance, ash filled the air. There was a surrounding noise of fire engines as well, the brave firefighters working hard to do the best they can. Chat and Ladybug leaped over buildings and ran towards the fire.
"M'Lady, do you think it's time for your lucky charm? Maybe it will help put the fire out." Chat said, as he continued slightly behind her.
"Are you kidding?! It's way too early for that, we still don't know where the akkuma is!" She didn't turn around to talk to him, but he could imagine the expression in her face from the annoyed tone she expressed.
"She doesn't have a lot of items, maybe it's in a piece of clothing." Chat said.
The heroes overcame a particularly tall building to see a mass of burning trees, broken cars, and screaming civilians. The fire was raging everywhere, the girl floating above it, proud of her work.
"There you are! The two whole people in the city that I'm not allowed to burn yet! Well I'm not allowed to burn your miraculouses at least…" She shot fire out of her hands.
"Everybody find cover!" Chat said while jumping down to help all of the civilians. Ladybug stayed at her place, staring down the villain.
"Please, you don't have to do this! I know you don't want to hurt all of these people, let us stop your pain!" Ladybug pleaded.
"People have been cruel to me, they've used their stone cold hearts in horrible ways. Now it's time for me to melt their hearts, and the rest of their bodies." The girl started using her flames to reach higher in the sky, ready to breathe down upon the earth.
Oh no, Ladybug thought.
"Lucky Charm!" She screamed. She had no plans. A giant lid landed in her hands. "What am I supposed to do with this?"
Meanwhile, Chat Noir was helping citizens escape the fire. Pieces of rubble were falling from the buildings above, and trees were falling over. Car alarms screeched from the damage they've received. He had finally moved most of the citizens from the area, until a flaming billboard began to fall from a nearby building. A couple dozen people were in its range of fire, disoriented from the smoke. I can't save them all in enough time. Chat Noir sprinted towards the area while he yelled "Cataclysm!" His hand full of destructive energy, he jumped up touching his palm to the billboard while the people cowered below. It fizzled away and he stood under the remains breathing heavily.
Ladybug thought about what she had learned about fire in the past. Not all fires are put out by water, some, like grease fires, are put out by putting a lid on the pan that's on fire. This removes the oxygen from fueling the fire and it dies down. Now she just had to find a container that the lid fit in, and a way to lead Feuzelle into it. She looked around, above her was an advertisement for women's shoes, with a giant model shoebox for show. Ladybug threw her yo-yo up to the top of the buildings and taunted the akumatized girl.
"Hey! Over here! Wouldn't it be nice to see all of the destruction you caused!"
The villain turned around to face her, eyes flaming with hate. Chat Noir looked up at them from the ground, thinking about the way that Ladybug said "destruction" It was like she was disgusted by it, the one thing he's capable of.
"Look out, little bug! You're about to be the victim of an arson, with the only items left being your beautiful little earrings!" She said as she glided over to Ladybug.
Ladybug jumped into the model shoebox. The villain slowly descended into the box, facing Ladybug. She shot out a blast of fire and Ladybug jumped into the air and grabbed the cover. She placed it on the shoebox and it fit perfectly. She heard banging on the walls, and the sides of the box got hotter. Then, after a couple seconds, the sides started to cool down. Chat Noir met her on the rooftop and looked at it. His blonde hair dirtied from all of the soot, he looked like a proper alley cat.
"Man, those shoes must be super hot! Maybe I should get a pair." He said while looking at Ladybug. She didn't bother to acknowledge his joke.
Ladybug opened the box to reveal the angry girl, her flames extinguished. She noticed a glove on her hand once the fire subsided, removed it, and split it in half revealing the akuma.
"Time to de-evilize!" She said as she performed the regular ritual. "Bye, bye, little butterfly."
She extended her arm out to Chat Noir, who met her fist and they said their celebratory
"Pound it!" Ladybug was gearing to take off, but before she left Chat stopped her.
"Wait!" He said, eyes wide.
"Kitty, we don't have much time, what is it?"
"Did I do something?"
"Seriously?"
"I- well, you just seemed-" He took a deep breath, "You just seemed to be mad at me, and kind of have been for a while. I really hope I didn't do anything to hurt you, I'd never want that. Ever."
"Chat! I don't have time for this, we're about to transform back. We're fine, I'm not mad at you." She said as she left. Chat wasn't very convinced.
Ladybug reverted back to Marinette, and she walked through the front door of her house.
"Oh! We were so worried you were in the middle of the attack, Marinette!" Her mother told her as she gave her a hug.
"No, I was trying to walk home when it happened and took shelter in a nearby building."
"Where's Adrien?" Marinette's father said, as he noticed that he hadn't returned yet. The family looked around, and a couple seconds later there he was.
"Good, you're okay too." Marinette's father said.
"Can I… Talk to Marinette alone?" Adrien asked after being hugged by Marinette's parents.
"Of course!" Marinette's mother said.
"Marinette, to finish what I was saying earlier… I do feel the same way about you. I care about you so much, and I'm so glad to have someone like you in my life."
Marinette gazed up at him with her wide eyes, face bright red.
"Does this mean…" She looked down at the floor and back up at him. "Does this mean that you could be my boyfriend?" She couldn't believe the words coming out of her mouth.
"I think… I think that right now I've just got too much on my mind, everything with my father. It's just too much to think about. But I'd love to be your boyfriend, just maybe after everything calms down." He sighed, he was so disappointed that he had to let her down like this. "I'm so, so sorry."
"It's ok! I completely understand. It's like… Like a pre-order boyfriend. Our relationship is just an album that hasn't been released yet."
"Haha, yeah, exactly." He smiled at her, relieved that she was trying to understand. "Thank you so much." He swept her into a giant hug. She rested her head in his arms.
