Reworking all my stories after The Hunt, here is the plan from here on out.
Universal Collisions
It was his curse to watch, and to never be able to intervene. Some would have called him cowardly, or looked at him with anger. There were few across the Multiverse who understood truly the reason why he could not intervene. Breaking the sacred vow of a Watcher had been something that Uatu had done only once, and only then because it was ordained.
He appeared as a bald man to the naked eye, but his head shape was not human and even his bone structure and height was different. His appearance as a man in white and blue robes and a gold amulet was an illusion in itself. In truth, Uatu had many forms, just as the being he had warned Reed Richards of long ago had many forms. Galactus was not truly a man after all, even though he often appeared as such, in some realities he was a system of machines, in others he was a cloud of imminent destruction. Uatu understood better than most that appearances differed from one reality to the next.
He stood where he often did looking down at the Earth, the moon, it was the blue area of the moon where the Kree had built a great city once as part of a test set by the Skrull between the Kree and Cotati. It was where the conflict between the three races originated from, it was where the Inhumans made their home for a time and it was where the X-men engaged in a trial by combat with the Shiar for the Phoenix. They of course believed at the time that they were fighting for Jean Grey, but it was the avatar of the Phoenix that sacrificed itself/herself that day. Uatu knew this, as he knew that in that moment the Phoenix came to truly understand what it mean to be alive and to feel love, perhaps for the last time in its existence.
Years ago, Uatu had witnessed the most important event in the Multiverse, when the Phoenix Cried out and was finally destroyed. That moment that Siegfried Wallace shattered the Crystal in the White Hot Room caused a chain reaction that echoed across the Multiverse. The final death of the Phoenix caused avatars across different Earths to suddenly lose their connection to the Phoenix, it caused a new force to go into the infant body of Hope Summers. Uatu knew exactly what Hope Summers now was, he knew that Cable was raising her in future timelines to be the messiah of mutant kind, even though she was to be anything but a saviour. He knew what she was, what she would do, yet still he remained silent. Just as he knew that the alien warlord Karabai, having come to this world after the Phoenix's death would conquer many alien cultures, to eventually fall to Earth after the resurrection of Sieg's father Aeon. The result of that defeat, of heroes coming together to stop a threat on Earth was unification, for the Kree and Skrull under Hulkling and for so many others. Uatu knew that these threats though would bring their casualties would result in Young Avengers growing up and accepting destiny, X-men abandoning a dream and then taking it up again with stronger beliefs, and Runaways finally not running away.
He knew of the Apocalypse Twins and their caretaker moving through time, he knew of Baron Zemo, stranded on Earth 1610, of Galactus whom had finally been trapped. And he knew of Onyx, the darker half of Aeon, moving across the Multiverse and building an army.
What he had not been able to predict though was the result of Muramasa's manipulations. He was not using the Tesseract to tear open some gap between universes, but the gap between the Multiverses themselves.
"A gap appears throughout the web of universes, expanding an already infinite number of Earths into an infinite number of Multiverses," said his counterpart.
Uatu rolled his eyes, with the expansion of the Multiverses came the inevitable acceptance that he would encounter multiple versions of himself.
"From the darkness came Infinitude, and with the Crisis came a new Infinitude, and with the opening of the gap there has become an infinitude of infinitude," said another.
"They do like to monologue don't they?" asked the counterpart Uatu liked.
He smiled and nodded, his counterpart with the blue robes sounded like a famous actor, and he watched a Multiverse of people who all looked like famous actors. Though he called them 'counterparts' the Monitors were different altogether, the one whom spoke alongside Uatu's 'cinematic' self looked like an actor wearing a low budget prop costume from a CW show. But that monitor's counterpart, and Uatu's favourite, wore a black coat with a yellow lightning bolt on the front. Nix Uotan was capable of interfering, he had the power of beings like Uatu but he could also see the world through the eyes of a human. He looked human, in a sense he was as most humans were formed of Matter.
"This place is special isn't it?" Nix asked.
"It is, not just to the past or the present, but to the future as well, and to the past forgotten," Uatu explained.
"You are not just talking about the new memories are you?" Nix asked.
He took from his pocket comic books, one with the words 'Marvel and DC present The Uncanny X-men and the New Teen Titans' showing Dark Phoenix consumed by flames, with Xavier sitting between her and a grey skinned alien with red eyes. It showed underneath them Cyclops, Wolverine, Shadowcat, Colossus, Storm and Nightcrawler in their 80s costumes, all of them running alongside a new group of heroes. Nix had more comic books 'Marvel Vs DC', 'JLA Avengers' and 'Amalgam'.
"They remember again, the meetings they all had before, so do you Uatu," Nix said.
Uatu smiled, remembering once again, the last son of Krypton, the princess of Themyscera, the dark knight and their world of Justice. With these memories came fond moments in which he remembered the heroes of both Multiverses overcoming incredible odds. But with these new memories came new futures that Uatu knew was coming, yet still could not prevent. What he could do was what he did before, provide a warning.
"The Universal Collision is coming," the Watchers and Monitors all spoke in Unison.
Nix put his hand forward, creating a poster, like what one would see at a Comic-Con event.
It showed the image of many Earths colliding together, along with the title 'Universal Collision'. Then he produced comic books and film posters.
One showed Sieg in a torn and ripped grey and black costume, his face half exposed by his torn mask. He stood ready for battle, with the images of people above him forming a ring. The poster read as follows:
Universal Collision: The Trail Blazer
Featuring: Tom Welling as Clark Kent/Superman
Tobey Macquire as Spider-man
Jonathon Majors as Nathaniel Gryphon
Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor
Milana Vayntrub as Doreen Green
Joe Manganiello as Flash Thompson/Agent Anti-Venom
Derek Theler as Craig Hollis
Bruce Campbell as Quinton Beck/Mysterio
Co-starring voice talents: Frank Welker as Darkseid, Clifford Chapin as Siegfried Reilly
And returning Michael Ironside as Darkseid-Prime
Nix did not stop there, producing a comic book that showed Cade Hunter in a new red scarf, gold and grey armour and resting a sword on his back with an assortment of people behind him. The text above showed the title of this 'Story'.
Universal Collision: The Redeemer
Featuring: What If's Guardians of the Multiverse
Justice League Incarnate
Justice League:Gods and Monsters
Superman: Red Son
Batman Beyond
Spider-man TAS
Superman Red Son
And the original Exiles
Starring: Tom Hiddleston as Loki
Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America and Johnny Storm/Human Torch
Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash
Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman
And Robert Pattison as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Co-Starring Voice Talents: Brad Hawkins as Cade Hunter/Deathblade, Tony Todd as Thanos-616
Cade Hunter lives in exile on a world once meant for the Hulk, but when that exile is interrupted by the arrival of Thanos, the former blade of death is drawn into a conflict that will span the Multiverse, as death has a new avatar and will not rest until every universe is wiped from existence.
What Uatu saw on the poster, above Cade was the silhouette of Thanos, his Thanos, holding a black Infinity Gem in his hand, with six stones glowing around him.
Finally Nix removed another comic book and poster, these ones showing a multitude of heroes from 616, and heroes from another Earth who looked like famous actors. Uatu could see the names at the top of the poster in order:
Anthony Mackie
Tom Holland
Hailee Steinfeld
Chris Hemsworth
Benedict Cumberbatch
Elizabeth Olsen
Oscar Isaac
Brie Larson
Mark Ruffalo
Chris Pratt
Don Cheadle
Samuel L Jackson
Charlie Cox
Mike Colter
Katherine Langford
Uatu saw two Earths, one showing the heroes of 616, the other that showed the heroes of this other 'Cinematic' Earth. And in the middle of them was Aeon with Virgil and Zack, his apprentices dressed in costumes of grey and red colours. When Nix turned the page Uatu finally saw a number designation to this Earth:
Earth 616 and Earth 199999 (otherwise known as the Cinematic Universe) finally meet in comic book and animated form (the fan-fic author wishes) courtesy of the artwork of Young Justice's Phil Bourassa (again, the author wishes). The seemingly innocent meetings of two Earths soon turns into a fight for survival when the heroes of 616 and the Avengers learn that their Earths are on a literal collision course with one another. Will the heroes of two worlds fight, or assemble, and is there more to this event than it seems?
Featuring a plethora of Cinematic talent and cameos, alongside the return of 90's Marvel Voice Actors for Earth 616: Cal Dodd as Logan/Wolverine, Christopher Daniel Barnes as Peter Parker/Spider-man, David Hayter as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Brian Austin Green as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Neal McDonough as Bruce Banner, Lori Alan as Susan Storm-Richards/Invisible Woman and Lenore Zann as Rogue and more.
Co-Starring voice talents: Jason David Frank as Sven Reilly/Aeon, Justine Briner as Zack Reilly/Witch-Boy and Griffin Puatu as Virgil Wallace/Apprentice.
"Well true believers," Uatu widened his eyes, turning to see an old man in a red space suit sitting, looking at the Earth.
The man turned his head, a smile crossing his face, his glasses fogging slightly.
"Ever onward our marvels and wonders, Excelsior!"
More to come
Marvellous World Vs Planet of the Bravest
I hope everyone enjoyed the previews, the new stories will be up soon. Universal Collisions was something I had thought of for a long time, born of my love for the 90s era Marvel Cartoons, even actors unfortunately no longer with us are the voices I imagine for some of these characters as I write, in particular the cast of the incredible X-men 90s series (stoked for their return :) My dream would have been to see (or hear) these people reprise their roles. Another thing that inspired me was the possibility of a comic and movie verse crossover, which I'm making happen, as I've further been inspired by the amazing Spider-man: No Way Home and Marvel Studios shift into the Multiverse.
