~Recap from Chapter 9~
Faith lifted her head up and looked at him with sadness.
"Do you hate me too?" She asked him.
Klaus drew close to her and rested his hands on her shoulders. He pulled her close and whispered affectionately, "I could never hate you, love."
With watery eyes, Faith smiled at him thankfully. She went on her tiptoes and kissed him gently on the cheek.
"Thank you." She whispered before walking away.

Chapter 11: Unexpected Changes
MYSTIC FALLS. 2010 A.D.
He hated her. The person she loved most in the world hated her.
It hurt like hell and she didn't know what to do.
After the ball, Alaric and Faith had moved in with the Salvatores. This was to keep an eye out for Alaric's alter ego. The toll of the ring was weighing on Alaric but for now it was manageable.
Faith on the other hand had locked herself up in her room, only coming out to get food and essentials. She avoided everyone and all the happenings that she knew was happening. Why bothered? Nothing would change anyways.
The Mystic Falls gang did drop in and every now and then. They would resort to different means to get her out of the house, but nothing worked. They even tried to get her help with things that were enfolding in Mystic Falls, but she refused each and every time.
Some harsh words are exchanged. Someone, aka Damon, accused her of moping and wallowing in self-pity. Others pleaded, some mocked her, but still, Faith refused to help.
On one particular night, she left her room to go down to the kitchen. She tiptoed quietly so as not to draw attention to herself. As she neared the bottom of the stairs, she could hear the Salvatore brothers talking. She could only catch a few phrases here and there. It sounded like they were planning to kill Finn who was sighted in town.
Faith immediately stopped going down the stairs and went back to her room as quickly and silently as possible. Once in her room, she locked the door behind her and leaned her back against the door. She was now faced with a choice. She can stop what will happen and save Finn or she could just let the plot move forward as it was. She knew she would also have to save Kol from getting killed and Rebekah from being daggered. But would that really be for the best? Kol and Finn comes back to life anyways and Rebekah would eventually be undaggered.
As she pondered over her options, her hand grasped the necklace that she had always worn. Glancing down, she read the words engraved on the back, Faithful and True. At that moment, she knew what she had to do. Not only had they been her family when she first arrived, they were Elijah's family. He would want them to be saved. Moreover, Faithful and True wasn't just a promise between her and Elijah, it was a promise that Faith had made to the whole Mikaelson family. She could not abandon them. She would not abandon them.
Sighing, she headed down to see the Salvatore brothers to tell them killing Finn would be killing all the vampires in his bloodline. She also made a mental note not to let it slip whose bloodline Katherine was in.

A scent wafted through the air.
Kol breathed it in and found it strangely pleasant.
Minutes later, a blonde vampire walked into the bar where he and Niklaus were.
He remembered her from the ball.
"Caroline," He called out.
Hearing her name, she turned to face the Original vampire.
"Oh, it's you." She spoke sarcastically and folded her arms.
"Join us for a drink?" Kol raised his glass in offering.
"Hmmm," Caroline pretended to think for a minute. "I'd rather die of thirst. Thanks."
Kol watched amused as the she walked away.
Leaning into Klaus, he remarked, "She's stunning."
"She certainly looks good walking away from you." Klaus teased his brother.
"I'll take that as a challenge."
Kol smacked his lips in anticipation and followed the girl outside. The game was on.

Faith smiled at the couple seated beside her on the couch.
Jeremy and Anna were cuddling together and whispering sweet nothings to one another.
Ever since Faith woke up in 2010, she was realizing that not everything followed the TVD timeline exactly – that or she was remembering the details wrong. Whatever the case, she was glad that Anna had not died.
She loved Jeremy and Anna together. They were so innocent and gentle, so affections towards one another.
When Alaric's evil side emerged, everyone decided it was best if Faith moved out of the Salvatores and in with the Gilbert family.
As much as Faith argued – not liking the idea of staying with Elena Gilbert – the brothers were adamant.
She wasn't sure if they were feeling apologetic towards her for locking her up but ever since the ball, they had become more protective of her. Perhaps they felt a sense of camaraderie when they saw the Original family's hostility towards Faith.
Now, their reason for against the Originals wasn't just for Elena but it was because of Faith too. They had begun to see her as the little sister they never had. And they wanted to do right by her even if that meant she got mad at them.
They had refused to listen to her about Finn and continued on with their plans. And, they had stuck Jeremy and Anna on babysitting duty, babysitting her.
While she liked the couple, she really got to sneak out somehow.
She needed to get out and find a way to save the oldest Mikaelson brother.

Finn woke up with a gasp.
He blinked a few times and studied his surroundings.
It was nighttime in the middle of the forest.
He found himself in Sage's arms. She stared at him in surprise with her tears staining her face.
"Finn?" She asked uncertainly.
"Sage," He whispered affectionately as he cupped her face in his hand.
She threw herself at him and buried herself into his chest.
"You're alive. You're alive." She kept repeating in between sobs.
The last thing he remembered was being engulfed in flames and his charred body reflected this.
As he moved, cracks appeared on his blackened body. Ashes fell away, peeling off like skin. Beneath it was flesh, good as new.
He was alive. Why?
"I feel thirsty." He said as he swallowed with a dry throat.
Sage pulled away then bit her wrist.
"Here," She offered it to him.
Finn hesitated then drank the blood from her wrist.
The warm liquid filled his body, and he could feel new life pumping through his veins.
Once done, Sage helped him up and they headed out of the woods. Sage walked beside him, his arm on her as she aided his weakened body.
"What happened?" He asked her as they walked.
Sage explained the moments leading up to his death.
They were at a bar, drinking and catching up.
Finn and Sage were so pleased to see each other they were oblivious to everything else.
Before they knew it, it was dark and it was time to head home.
As they walked the streets, Finn spotted Faith Mikaelson.
Sage was not familiar with her and only heard stories of Faith through the Original family.
Whether it was anger or a desperation to know, Finn confronted Faith.
"Finn," Faith said when she saw the determined vampire march towards her.
"Why Faith? How could you do this to us?"
"I'm sorry Finn," The girl had replied dejectedly. "I'm sorry."
Seeing her, triggered something in him. The normally reserved man lashed out in uncontrollable rage.
He shoved Faith against the wall and dug his fangs into her neck.
Within minutes, he was flung from the girl into the opposite wall.
Sage tried to stop it but was taken unawares by Stefan Salvatore.
On the other hand, Matt Donovan had appeared out of nowhere and had plunged the white oak stake into his chest.
Sage threw Stefan off her and rushed to his side while the Mystic Falls gang hurried Faith away.
She had quickly pulled out the stake in an attempt to stop the process but to no avail.
In the end, she had brought Finn's body to the woods to bury her beloved.
They reached the edge of the forest as Sage finished recounting the story.
"How am I alive?" Finn asked.
"I don't know. All I know is that I thought I lost you and now you're alive." Sage replied with tears of joy in her eyes.
Finn smiled back at her then remarked: "I think I know someone who might know what's happening."
"Who?"
"My mother."
