Adventurer (Viole)
Red, black, and green. Those were the colors that were spinning around my head. I was thankful that I wasn't seeing what the colors represented. After a while the colors all blended together into a large red pool... until it eventually turned black.
When I opened my eyes, I was met with an unfamiliar brown roof and a strange room. Ah... I'm in Orario now. I let out a sigh of relief, and rubbed my headache away. "At least the nightmares are getting better. Way more artsy." The attempted humor didn't help

After cleaning myself up I got out of the shady inn, putting on a light and short red coat and red pants to protect from the cold. I looked at the notebook that I had in a small bag that had all my belongings. The notebook had all the instructions I needed for my goal. First on the to do list: head to the guild and register as an adventurer. This is gonna take a while. I'm not good at directions. Ruffling my black hair, I resigned myself to the long day ahead of me. Strangely enough, while looking for the guild, I spotted a young man running around covered in blood. Must have had a rough time in the Dungeon. Well at least he lived. After a while, I found the guild building just as a white haired kid ran out with a smile on his face. The building itself was filled with what I'd wager a guess were adventures and guild employees. I had noticed that a brown haired girl in professional wear walking back to an empty desk. I quickly made my way to her work area before anyone else did.
"Excuse me." I say as I walk up.
"Oh. Hello. How may I help you?" The woman asked me with a practiced smile.
"Hello. My name is Viole. I would like to become an adventurer." The woman nods her head as she grabs a couple papers before motioning to me to follow her. I do so and she leads me to a small room with two couches facing each other with a small table in the middle.
"Have a seat." I do as she asks and wait for the lady to sit in front of me. "My name is Eina Tulle. I'm an advisor here at the guild. In order for you to become an Adventurer I'll need to ask you a few questions. Is that alright?" I nod my head and Eina gives me a soft smile. Does the guild intentionally hire cute advisors? "Alright then. How old are you?"
"I'm sixteen. I'll be seventeen in about nine months."
"Have you been in the dungeon before?"
"No, I have not. I have hunted a couple of the monsters here on the surface. But I know they are far weaker than the ones in the dungeon." Eina let out a sigh when she heard my answer.
"That's a relief. Some adventurers get...cocky and go into the dungeon without registering or getting into a familia. But yes, that is important to remember. Monsters born on the surface are extremely weaker than the monster born from the dungeon. Weaker than floor 1 monsters. But it is impressive that you fought monsters before coming to Orario. Are you a part of a Familia?"
"No I am not." I say hanging my head. "I have an idea of one to try and join but I do not know if it still exists."
"Hmm?" Eina motioned for me to continue.
"Well my father... He used to be an adventurer and told me a lot of stories from then. He was a part of the Loki familia. Are they still around?"
"Wow! A Loki veteran? The Loki familia is arguably the strongest familia in Orario, that's quite impressive! I'll point you towards their base after this last question. " The brown haired girl flipped a page on a notepad and looked at me. "Why do you want to be an adventurer?"
"..." A flash of red went through my mind. A memory that I both wanted to suppress but also keep at the forefront of my mind. "I want to get stronger. That's all." I say, forcing a smile on my face.

I was looking at the confusing map that Eina had given me, not understanding it at all. How does a member of the guild draw so horribly? I honestly had no idea where I was, walking down a street I eventually noticed the time. The sky was dark and it was getting later by the second. Duh, that's how time works, dumbass. "I really just spent all day looking for a damn castle. *sigh*" Then, out of the restaurant in front of me a large and strange group came out drunkenly. One of them, a red haired woman bumped into me and fell to the ground. "Oh. Sorry bout-"
"H-Hey! Watch where yu're walkin b-b-bastard!" A white haired wolf man walked up to me with a noticeable slur and stinking of alcohol. "Apologasse to her!"
"Loga, leave him-" A blond woman put a hand on his shoulder and tried to pull him back.
"NAHHHH! Apolosize or imma kick uor ass!"I stepped back as he poked me in the chest aggressively. This strength! He must be a pretty high level adventure.
"Yeah, yeah. Sorry Sir." I then turned to the red haired woman, who was writhing around the ground dramatically. "Miss, I'm sorry for bumping into you."
"Yeah! Now cough-" before the wolf man could continue however, the red haired women's closed eyes opened wide and she stood off the ground dramatically.
"Bete, shut up. " The woman chastised him before looking at me once more, staring at me for quite a while. This is...strange. "Hey, what's your name?"
"Ahem. My name is Viole." She continued to stare at me. I let out a soft sigh and resigned myself to being in the strange situation. "Viole Keres. May I go now?" Her eyes widened once again before she closed her eyes and turned her back to me. After a couple of seconds she turns to me again, calm and seemingly sober, with a large creepy smile on her face.
"I am the goddess, Loki. Please become a part of my Familia, Viole." Well, I suppose that was convenient.

I was led to my destination by the owners themselves. It was a large castle that was so large that it could have easily housed over two hundred people. "Welcome to my humble abode, Viole!. What do ya think of the Twilight Manor?"
"Well...I feel a bit bad for not being able to tell that this was the place." While looking for which castle it was, I had passed this one a couple of times. But in my defense, this city is filled with castles, way too many in my opinion. This one just happened to be huge. "Thank you for showing me the way, ."
"Just Loki! I can't handle all that formal crap. But come on, gotta get you all registered." The rest of Loki's familia had left into the castle, most of them fumbling over themselves. Loki brought me into a spacious office on the first floor and gestured to me to sit down. Now that I got a good look at Loki, she did seem like the casual type. Her clothes were quite simple. Her long red hair was in a ponytail. A cut off hoodie that was just black sleeves and a blue hoodie. She had a blue crop top and black hot pants. She finished her simple outfit with black stockings and blue heels. "Sooo, when'd you come to Orario?"
"Just last night." I sat on one of the sofas in the office and dropped my bag on the ground near me. "I came here to be an adventurer. So thank you for inviting me into your familia." She flashed me a smile before looking around in the mess that her desk was in.
"Well, of course! I recognized you immediately! Well, sorta. Hearing your last name just confirmed it. Your father was a part of my familia until twenty years ago. I'm glad to see his son came to me when it came time for you to be one. So how's he doing now?"
"..." I wouldn't say I was surprised by the question, in fact I was expecting it but, it didn't make it any easier to say it out loud. "He...my family..."
"Stop." Loki interrupted me as she came out of the mess of her desk. "I...had a feeling anyway." Loki's face shifted a bit before finally returning back to a carefree face. But it didn't look the same as it did ten minutes ago. "Let's just move past that. So then, show me that bod of yours! And by that I mean show me your back."
"Yes of course. For the falna." I took off my black shirt and turned around to show my back to her. The falna is basically the status of an adventure. An adventure needs a falna to not only get stronger but be able to stand toe to toe with the monsters in the dungeon.
"Okay! This'll feel weird, so just hold on." With my back turned, I did not know what Loki was doing, but my back suddenly felt strange, with a bright light starting to emit through the room. "Wha-" Loki gasped before sighing. "..." I heard a paper rustle before being placed on my back. After a second the light in the room dimmed. "Alrighty then, here you go Viole!" I put my shirt back on and turned back to Loki who handed me a white sheet of paper. "I gotta say, I'm impressed! Already have magic and a skill!"
"Really?! I grabbed the sheet of paper and started at it.

"W-Wow! That magic stat! Not to mention a skill! I have a feeling I know what the magic is but what's with the skill?" I was wrinkling the paper with how tightly I was holding it.
"Don't know. You'll have to figure it out yourself. Maybe you can go to the dungeon tomorrow? Ais should probably go with you, don't want you to get hurt on your first day... what do you use as a weapon?" I chuckled and raised my two hands.
"I use my magic to fight. That's how I know what it does. I never saw a need for a weapon." Loki sighed before chuckling herself.
"Yeah, Ais is gonna be with ya."

"Good morning." I was shocked to see a blond haired woman greet me immediately when I opened the door of my room. The woman had amber eyes and was wearing a short white dress. A complete opposite from me as I was in just a black shirt and shorts, having just woke up. "Hm? Do you need something?"
"Umm..." She was clearly did not care about my disheveled look so I shook away the awkwardness. "Miss, can you tell me where the bathroom is."
"Yes, I can show you."
"Wait, that's not-" The woman was already walking down the hallway. She...she's a bit weird isn't she? Reluctantly, I followed the blond to a male bathroom, went in, did my daily routine and was not surprised by the fact that she was outside waiting for me when I came out. "Are you the Ais that Loki mentioned yesterday?"
"Ah." The girl suddenly realized my confusion and went into a formal bow. "I'm sorry. My name is Aiz Wallenstein. Loki has ordered me to accompany you today. I hope we get along." After hearing Wallenstein say a full sentence made me realize that her voice was quite monotone, lacking any emotion.
"Hold on, Ais Wallenstein?! The Sword Princess? It is such a pleasure to meet you! I heard such amazing stories about you." I went into a bow myself, which Wallenstein seemed to have not expected as she started fidgeting around.
"Please raise your head. I didn't exactly get your name..."
"Ah." I stood up straight once more. "My name is Viole Keres. Pleased meet you, Miss Wallenstein." Wallenstein's eyes widened for a second before returning back to normal and she gave me a nod.
"Ais. Just Ais."
"No problem, pleasure's mine."
And so, time passes
"So this is the dungeon, huh? Looks exactly as I thought it did." After getting ready, Aiz had led me towards the Tower of Babel, the large tower in the middle of town. Under the tower was the only entrance to the Dungeon. An upside down tower that went into an uncounted levels into the ground. No one knew how many floors were in the dungeon. Could be one hundred, two, maybe a thousand. However, the adventurer's goals are not to reach the end. The goal is to farm crystals that come out of the monsters that spawn here to sell to the Guild. Honestly it's just another job in the world, but much more dangerous and much more needed.
"Yes, all of the early floors until floor nine look like this. The only difference is the strength and the different types of monsters." The dungeon was a long cave with purple walls and floors. Interesting. I turn to Aiz and notice how...underwhelming her armor was. She was wearing the same white dress and blue boots as this morning. The only difference was the chest plate she wore and the rapier at her side. Looking down at myself, we were pretty different. I wore a black armored coat over a red shirt and black pants. Generic, sure, but it was the only armor I could afford at the time. "Are you ready?"
"Yeah. Let me just do the finishing touches." I crack my knuckles and let out a sigh. "Give me the strength to devour my enemies, Force Eater." Black mist began to cover my hands until the mist turned solid and covered my hands in dark matter. The magic around my hands made my fingers become long and as sharp as claws. "Let's get this done now." Walking down the hall I came across two Goblins coming out of the walls of the Dungeon. So that's how they're spawned. "Sorry but you two are going to have to die!"
Not letting the monsters realize what was happening, I rushed towards them. I grabbed the closest one to me by the head and threw it to the other. The two monsters crashed into one another and collided with the floor. Not allowing them any time to recover I rushed on top of them and positioning my hand completely flat, stabbing my hand through the two of them. After a second, the monsters disappeared into a cloud of dust and all that was left were two tiny crystals. "Wow..." I looked behind me and Ais was slowly following me with a small smile on her face. "You've never been in the Dungeon correct?" I nodded at her question. "Wow. That was an amazing technique for a beginner." Agh. The "for a beginner" really hurt. "Were you trained by anyone?"
"Well, not to fight like this, no. I taught myself to fight like this." I looked down at my monstrous hand and closed it into a fist. "Well, let us continue, Ais. I'd like to see how far I can get." She wordlessly nodded and followed as I tore my way through the first level. None of the goblins even got a hit in. I was starting to feel good about myself when we reached the stairs that lead to the second floor. "That's it?! Hah! That was a piece of cake. Let's head further!"
"No." Ais out right denied me and turned one hundred and eighty degrees. "Loki instructed me to not allow you to go further than floor one. I am sorry, Viole."
"Huh?! Why? I can-"
"The goblins are the weakest monsters in the entire dungeon. Floor three is where I think the dungeon really begins. You should not allow yourself to underestimate the dungeon. Many adventurers have died from smaller mistakes." Her words stuck hard. Harder when she stared at me with those amber eyes that seemed to stare through me. That's right...dad told me about how many people died just because they killed a couple goblins and thought they were hot shit.
"Damn." I disbanded the magic that was around my hands and smacked my forehead. "I'm sorry, Lady Ais. You're absolutely right...I was an idiot for that. Thanks for stopping me." I gave her an apologetic smile. Then it came...my grumbling stomach. I could feel the head rushing to my cheeks and ears. "Sorry about that, that's embarrassing."
"N-No problem." She chuckled into her hand as I tried my best to regain my barely made image. "It happens to everyone on their first day, especially magic users. Come, I'll treat you to my favorite." Aiz started to lead me out with a skip in her step, or at least the most of a skip that a girl like her could have. Huh...

What I had in my hand could only be described as a snack. A nice light snack that you would get when shopping. That didn't mean that I wasn't thankful, but the bowl that sat in between Ais and I was filled to the brim with these little Potato croquettes, with two large bowls of a white sauce sitting in front of the two of us. "So...this is your favorite food Ais?"
"Mmm'' She had one croquette in each hand, alternating the two between dipping them and taking a bite. The bowl between us had exactly forty seven croquettes. I knew that because Ais had given this hellish order to a twin-tailed black haired girl who was running a cart near the tower of Babel. What surprised me the most was the fact that the girl was not surprised in the least when Ais gave her order. The reputation of the Sword Princess includes more than I thought. I dipped the snack into the sauce and tried it myself. "How is it?"
"It's pretty good. I could actually see myself grabbing a couple of these after a day in the dungeon. I see why you love it so much."
"Finally, someone who understands." Her response got a healthy chuckle out of me. "There is no better feeling than thirty croquettes after a long day of training."
"Damn! You can put food down, huh? I suppose you're more of a Croquette Queen than the Sword Princess." I slightly chuckle at my bad joke before freezing. Shit! Mom told me to never talk to a girl about her eating habits!
"Yes, I suppose so." Ais said with a small smile before going back to eating her potatoes at mach speed. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off. What a strange girl.

AN: Hello and welcome to my attempt at a Damnachi story! Thank you for taking your time to read this and please give me as much constructive criticism as you think I need as well as any reviews or comments. I will be reading all of them, thank you in advance. Some caveats to keep in mind for this, there will be some timeline differences between this and the main line of Danmachi due to spoilers, sorry if that's an issue for anyone. Also there will be some added gods and goddesses who, as far as I can tell, are not in the original series. So please keep that in mind as well. Thank you once again for taking time out of your day once more, and happy holidays.
