At the end of school, the trio walked out of school. Luz was practically jumping with each step as they were heading to the Bonesborough mall. It was time for them to get their dresses or suits for Friday's dance!
"Ooh, I can't wait!"
"Us too." Amity said with a small smile.
"I can't wait to see how you girls look in suits or dresses." Boscha said.
"We just have to make one quick stop first." Amity said.
"Okay. Is it near the mall?" Luz asked her.
"Yep, it's actually right next to it." Boscha said.
"So, we can go there real quick and then go dress or suit shopping. Great." Luz said with a smile.
They arrived and Luz's expression soured.
"Why are we here?"
"Because you need help, and we love you." Boscha said to Luz.
"I said I'm fine." Luz said as she tried to leave but Boscha and Amity didn't let her.
"No, you're not. And you need to talk about it." Amity said.
"No, I don't." Luz growled.
Boscha grabbed Luz's arm.
"Luz... I am not letting you walk away." Boscha said.
"That goes double for me." Amity said as she grabbed Luz by the shoulder. "This doesn't have to be hard. Just walk in with us and it can be over quickly."
Luz closed her eyes.
"Fine."
'Let's just get this over with.' Luz bitterly thought as she walked into the therapy office with Boscha and Amity at her sides.
Luz was zoned out until her name was called.
"Ms. Luz Noceda?" The therapist asked, making Luz look up to her.
"Yeah, I'm here." Luz said as she got up with an uninterested look. "Let's get this over with."
The therapist brought her into a back room and sat her down on a chair. The therapist sat with a notepad in hand as they looked at Luz, smiling friendly to her.
"Hello, Ms. Noceda." She greeted.
"Hi." Luz said, not looking at the therapist.
"Now, I know this may seem stressful but there is nothing to be afraid of. This is a safe place where you can talk without worry." The therapist said to Luz.
"I'm... I'm not worried." Luz said.
"Really?" The therapist asked, "Then what's this I hear about you feeling guilty?"
"I'm not guilty!" Luz quickly defended.
"Luz, you don't need to lie here. As I said, this is a safe place." The therapist said. "You can share your feelings without worry of negative judgement. It's my job to help you, not hurt you."
"I... I'm not..." Luz held her head, "Why did she have to die? Why did she have to push me out of the way?"
The therapist saw Luz was beginning to cry and took notes on this.
"Can you tell me more. Was this woman important to you?" The therapist asked Luz with a concerned face.
Luz nodded.
"She was basically family."
"Can you tell me her name?" The therapist asked.
"Lilith." Luz replied.
"And what happened?"
"She... someone was trying to kill me... she pushed me out of the way and took it for me." Luz said, "If I wasn't there, she would still be alive."
"And do you think that she would want that? Terrible as it may be, it sounds like Lilith wanted to protect you." The therapist said to Luz.
"But she didn't need to! I could've protected myself! I could've protected her!" Luz shouted to her.
"But you couldn't and that's fine." The therapist said.
"No it's not! I-I should've-" Luz said in a rush.
"Should've what?" The therapist replied.
"I should've been the one protecting her! I should've been better! I-I-I-" Luz said before she held her face, beginning to cry. "I should've done something MORE. I should've."
"Sometimes you can't. Sometimes you do everything you can and still fall short." The Therapist said, "But when that happens, it's best to let others in so they can keep you from falling."
"B-But I don't want them to fall with me." Luz said as she continued to cry.
"And that's an understandable concern but it's their choice to help you and to be there for you so you can get back up." The therapist said before pointing to the door to her office. "Those two girls out there? They are there to help you get up. Will you let them?"
Luz looked up.
"Can you trust them?"
"With my life." Luz said.
The therapist smiled at Luz as she closed her notepad.
"Then go and tell them that. If you ever wish to talk more, you know where my office is." She said with a smile to Luz.
"Thank you." Luz said.
Luz got up and left the room, not looking back as the therapist smiled as she left.
'Good thing I asked for payment in advance.' She thought.
Luz stopped before her girlfriends and immediately hugged them, pulling them up from their chairs in the process.
"Please... never leave me." Luz said, fully crying.
They both hugged Luz back, letting her cry into their shoulders.
"We would never think of that. We love you too much to hurt you like that." Amity said as she kissed Luz's forehead.
"No matter what happens, we will never leave you." Boscha said, "Even if you do something like killing people, we won't leave you."
"Come on, Bosch, I would never do that." Luz said, breaking the hug, "Now... let's go shopping."
Luz wiped her eyes and gave them a smile to them; one they knew was genuine.
I have several chapters completed for this story that should last a while, and I will put Spider-Luz on a small Hiatus for the next couple days, due to it being a very busy weekend for my family. Follow, Favorite, and Review for more.
