Welcome one and all to the product of several nights when I don't get to bed on time!

As always, sorry if this doesn't live up to the hype.

Enjoy!

Bell opened his eyes, the light shined brightly into the room, once again waking up in the Blue Pharmacy.
It wasn't an easy night, Naaza having to turn away Welf and Hephaestus who had somehow won the rights to see Bell first.
But he wasn't in any condition for guests when they got back.
He slid to the bed's edge, sitting there until he felt awake enough to continue.
He was still in the clothes Miach had lent him, though, Miach was a tall person, so they were fairly long on him.
Bell felt a light shift in his stomach, his body telling him to eat soon or face the consequences.
He threw himself forward, sliding on the pair of cheap slippers by his bedside.
.
Bell opened his door quietly, avoiding the creaking part of the door's hinge
He stepped out, closing the door behind him.
He heard a muffled commotion from down towards their living room, so he went to investigate.
He eased his way down the second floor hallway, coming to the end of it, and into the living room entryway of the Blue Pharmacy.
"H-Hello?" Bell called to the empty room.
"Oh, Bell?" Came Naaza, but Bell couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
The room was empty, but Naaza's voice was clearly coming from here.
"Naaza?!" Bell was a bit put off by this. "Are you a ghost- I don't like ghosts!"
Bell stood idly in the doorway to the room, just baffled as to what was happening.
The wall opened.
The. wall. opened.
"THE HE-?!"
"LANGUAGE!" Naaza cut him off.
Bell couldn't care less, simply shocked as he stared at Naaza who stood in a hidden doorway to their kitchen, which he'd never seen before.
The door was literally a section of the wall which sat perfectly flush and could not be found without prior knowledge of it, Bell was simply dumbfounded.
Before Bell could comment on the hidden door, which he freakin loved by the way.
Trje bolted inside through as Naaza held it open.
The chienthrope simply began staring daggers at the wall behind him, she had already spent thirty minutes today getting the cat out of the kitchen, just for that to happen.
"I'm gonna kill that little piece of shi-"
"Language!" Bell shouted to her, getting an angry pout in return.
He smiled.
It left him fast.
Smiled.
Smiled…
It felt wrong to do that.
Like it was inappropriate.
His mood dropped, but was still decent. He took a deep breath as Naaza went back to chasing Trje, the cat and dog not getting along very well.
.
Some time passed, and Naaza finished preparing their breakfast of vegetable omelette's. Only moments later, Miach showed up.
Bell took note of the quality of the food. Regardless of their living conditions, the medically proficient duo didn't seem to compromise on the quality of their food.
Bell enjoyed eating with the two of them, both giving off a bittersweet atmosphere that was heavy on the sweet part.
By the end, he held a soft smile, but it was nothing like the one he usually carried a few days ago.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The Blue Pharmacy continued to treat their regulars.
This mostly consisted of the more poor groups in Orario, Elderly, a few adventurers, and pediatric care.
It was actually quite sweet how excited the children from Maria's Orphanage got when playing with Naaza. It was a shame that she had such clear feelings for a god, she would have been an amazing mother.
Bell helped out where he could, not really having any medical knowledge beyond the basics. Even then, it had been a few dozen decades since he'd used that knowledge on somebody else.
.
Around noon was when the patients from Dian Cecht Familia arrived.
Naaza and Miach had made special preparations for this, setting up proper bed space for the recuperating patients inbound for their front door.
They had been adamant about Bell not helping, even reluctant to tell him who it was they'd be caring for, not sure how the currently fragile boy would take it.
But he refused to sit idly by, even if it meant carrying a member of Apollo Familia into the room behind the storefront.
It was a drawn out process, but it needed to be done. Oddly enough though, Bell didn't feel all that tired even without a Falna, perhaps something to look into.
'Oh, yeah… Falna.' He thought.
Bell couldn't help but let his eyes shift to a person crouching beside one of the bedsides of a less injured Apollo member, correction, ex-Apollo member.
His mind wandered to what Miach had told him just before the patients arrived.
"If they want to join another Familia now, they'll have to go to the guild to get their Falna removed." Miach told him.
Bell scrunched his brow. "What? Why?"
"One does not just 'remove' a Falna. If the god who it belongs to cannot or will not remove said Falna, Ouranos is the only person who can do so without any regard for that god. In this case, it's a way to keep track of who goes wear, locking a criminal out of growing, and keeping track of those who belong to disbanded Familia's that didn't exactly have clean records."
Bell blinked, returning to the moment.
Naaza was at the opposite end of the long room, adjusting the pillows for a person who broke their leg during the events following his goddesses death.
He looked back over towards Miach.
But his heart wasn't ready for that.
.
It wasn't long after everything and everyone got settled in, that Hephaestus and Welf showed up.
.
Bell sat opposite of the goddess with her child in the Blue Pharmacy's upstairs living room.
"..."
"..."
"So… How's that, uh… Smithing business… Lately…"
Welf sighed, following it up with a huff of amusement, though he tried to stifle it after a moment.
She smiled kindly.
"It's fine, Bell." Hephaestus got a bit more serious. "How are you doing?"
"About as well as I can, better than I was yesterday, so…" He bounced his head around in a gloomy 'it-is-what-it-is' sort of way.
Things got quiet again, Bell really wasn't sure why they were here, he knew Welf would be worried, but he never would have expected Hephaestus to show up. Then again, Hestia and her were good friends.
'Oh…' It hit him.
"She still owned on the knife, huh."
Bell sighed, leaning a bit forward to retrieve it from his belt.
"No!" Hephustus leaned in, stretching her hand to stop him from across the coffee table, not actually reaching him.
Bell was unsure of what to do, frozen in an awkward position.
"I wasn't coming here to do anything like that. But, I did want to talk about it with you…" She seemed worried.
He corrected his posture, letting the knife remain in his belt.
"That knife is not a normal weapon." Both Bell and Welf became more interested. "It's an affront to smithing as a whole, it cannot be discovered, or my whole Familia could lose more credit than there is to us, you understand so far?"
Bell seemed to stiffen up at that.
"I am more than willing to forgive what is still owed for it, under the condition that the blade is never willfully removed from your possession, understood?"
Bell was slow, but he nodded.
"So…" Welf began. "If all is forgiven now, how much did you charge for it?"
Bell looked to the goddess with just as much curiosity.
"Ah, well… Two-hundred million before interest."
Bell squeaked. "Interest?!"
She awkwardly looked between the two boys.
Bell had gone pale as a ghost, stunned that he'd been carrying something so valuable around like it was no big deal.
Welf was shocked that a single weapon could even cost that much. He looked as though he was reevaluating his life choices up till now.
"I-It's done and forgotten now, get both your minds back here or I'll… I'll…"
They watched again, both knowing where she was going, but also wondering what she had been thinking of finishing that statement with.
"I'll make you both… Regret it(?)."
"..."
Welf smirked a bit. "Are you asking us, or telling us?"
Her ears were turning pink.
"SO!" Bell called out, stealing the attention away from the runaway conversation. "We were discussing the knife."
"R-Right." Hephaestus reorganized herself. "-May I hold the knife for a moment?"
Bell leaned again, pulling the knife from his belt this time.
He flipped it in his hand so she'd have the handle pointed to her as it came to rest in her hand.
She evaluated it, looking over every nook and cranny, even seeing that the glyphs had been properly cleaned out, expecting there to have been blood or grim build up.
She nodded sagely, before channeling a bare minimum amount of Arcanum into the weapon.
Bell's eyes widened as the knife's slumbering glyphs came to life, but not in the usual blue, instead, a deep red.
Hephaestus nodded again, but with a more sentimental emotion in her eye as she looked back at Bell.
"The magic of this weapon is that it only works for a welder with a Falna from goddess Hestia, no one else. The fact that the blade reacted in such a way, showing off a red hue, means the hair from her is still inside, still containing a small part of her."
Bell all but froze.
He hadn't known why it worked, only that it did.
She handed it back to him, Bell holding it carefully in both his hands, almost as though it would break at any moment.
"That weapon contains a piece of divinity that cannot simply be passed around on Genkai, you need to protect that knife at all cost, do you understand?"
Bell stared back at her, his unreadable emotion, was in reality dozens of overlapping ones, now knowing that he still had something of Hestia .
His goddess wasn't completely gone just yet.
He held it firmly against his stomach, just wanting it to be as close as possible.
The boy would recall that, if he'd spoken at that time, it would have sounded like a blubbering mess.
.
Welf and Hephaestus gave him some time to cool down, but there was another topic that needed to be addressed.
"Bell." Welf spoke up, though more serious than Bell had ever heard him before. "We need to talk, it's about Lili."
Bell was surprised, but matched his seriousness. "Is she okay?"
"Yeah, yeah! Lil-Squeaks fine. But her Familia got to her during the attack."
Welf sighed, continuing before Bell could freak out. "The Ganesha Familia rescued her during a raid related to Apollo Familia. Their captain was arrested, and in the midst of all the chaos, Lili was rescued. She even got out of Soma Familia for good."
"She got her Falna off?!"
Welf smiled. "...She wants to join up with whoever you're with, when that time comes."
Bell's mood slowly dropped, Welf feeling like he just stepped on a landmine, but Hephaestus stepped in, staring Bell dead in the eyes.
"Bell, we both knew Hestia well, I'm sure of that at the very least." Her gaze hardened even more. "We both know she wouldn't want you to quit now, you've got so much time left here. She would want you to keep going, not grind to a halt because she's up there watching instead of down here"
"After all-'' The red head continued, the signs of a grin appearing. "-How could I look her in the eye if I let the Little Rookie quit while he was ahead!"
Her and Bell both grinned as she said that, the dumb little alias Hestia was oh-so excited about.
"You can keep going, she'll still be excited to see you when the time comes for your reunion... If anybody says something nasty about it, just come find me and I'll talk some sense into them, okay?"
She smiled, her little pep talk getting him, letting the boy smile without guilt for the first time since… You know.
"Well, anything else to add, Welf?" The goddess asked.
"Hm, well, you got any idea about who you might join up with, Bell? Gotta tell Lili something when we see her again."
He thought on it, then slowly nodded his head, before looking up and answering.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Are you sure about this Bell? You're not just rushing into this, right?"
"I'm sure, I spoke with Lady Hephaestus about it. I know I'm making the right choice."
"Bell, I'm glad to hear that, but I was referring to your captain when she finds out… Are you sure you're ready?"
Miach sighed when the boy didn't respond.
"Maybe we should ask Naaza-"
"No!"
"..." Miach stared, judging the boy.
"I- I already asked her!"
"..."
Bell's bedroom in the Blue Pharmacy was silent.
"..."
"You're a really bad liar Bell, did you know that?" The god asked with seemingly genuine concern.
"..."
"..."
"Yes." Bell pouted a bit.
Miach sighed.
"Alright, lay down."
Bell did, nervous, remembering how it felt last time this was done, Miach pulling out a pin kept in his sleeve.
A grunt of pain from the god signaled the start.
He felt the drop hit his back, the wet feeling was almost like an itch, but he knew not to try and scratch.
He felt a settling numbness cross his back, moving up his neck, then down his arms and legs.
Bell waited patiently, fighting the drowsiness from his lack of function.
A shot of pain flew through him, hitting every bone, joint and muscle in his body, an agony indescribable.
Before euphoria washed over him, removing the pain and leaving soft comfort. He regains full function, an electric blue hue taking over the room.
"Okay then, I just need to copy this over, and-"
Miach was cut off as the door abruptly opened.
"Miach I need- THE HECK IS HAPPENING IN HERE?!"
Naaza was mortified, no, she was livid as she witnessed her god giving Bell a Falna. It was almost like the white haired boy hadn't just been through an emotionally devastating event that would severely impair his judgment.
"H-Hey captain!" Bell said, stopping every thought dead in her brain.
It had been a long time since someone had called her that… She didn't realize how badly she'd missed it.
"..."
"..."
"I-I'm done…" Miach spoke rather timidly, stuck for a time between the two.
"..."
He passed the paper to Bell, who quickly sat up to face his new captain, who looked in need of a reboot.
He smiled as best he could, though it was weak.
He lifted the paper in his hand.
That little bit of a smile faltered, then disappeared when his eyes found the bottom of the page.

Bell stared, his heart pounding as Naaza and Miach started to worry about his rapidly deteriorating mood.
'What the hell is this…'
Bell slowly turned. "Lord Miach?..."
"Bell?" Miach called, concern evident.
"Can this be removed? Gods can choose to erase a skill when they appear, right?!" His voice was full of desperate hope, his heart pounding in his ears just low enough to still hear.
"Bell, what's the-"
"RIGHT?!" Bell shouted, inching closer to him.
The boy looked like he was about to go mad.
"Bell… When a Falna is first made, any skills that appear are irreversible… I'm... sorry…(?)"
Bell looked as though his whole world was coming down again.
He lost himself in his own mind, slowly looking back to the paper.
'Why now?'
'This isn't happening!'
'It can't be, right?'
'Just- just a bad dream, haha!'
He pinched himself on the arm, hand already close, so it didn't look out of place.
Until he broke the skin.
He came back, feeling the warm red liquid on his skin.
He brought his hand up to see.
The blood ran down his elbow and forearm, Naaza quickly jumping in to bandage it.
His blood was so... red.
His blood.
Blood.
He started to breathe heavier and quicker.
Until Naaza smacked him on the back with all her strength, making his system cut off then go back to it's normal pace.
He looked to Naaza, she froze, seeing the unwavering fear in his eyes.
She tried to grab his arm as he got up and ran, but he was a Level Three, and she, a Two.
.
He busted through the storefront doors, hell bent on getting to her.
To her.
The only person left who knew what was happening to him.
He needed to see her.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Loki took a seat on the couch, Finn remained a few feet to the side, not that it would've change anything if 'The King' decided to attack.
Or, for that matter, was ordered to.
"So what brings you to my humble little overlook dear Loki?" A sweet but fake sounding calm came over Freya's voice.
"..."
Freya turned to her from the chair she used to watch over Bell, who was currently at the Blue Pharmacy.
The goddess of beauty was actually surprised to see Loki's eyes, open and staring back at her.
This was a serious conversation then.
Freya quickly stood, moving to sit opposite Loki.
"Go on." Freya commanded.
"How bad did the boy take it."
"...I'm sorry, whatever do you-"
"Cut the crap, I know that Bell Cranel kid is the one you talked about back at Monsterphilia."
"...How?"
Loki scoffed. "You sent one of your closest children to go after him in the dungeon, I heard all about it from my kids."
Freya contemplated a moment.
Loki spoke up again. "I've let this little game of yours slide till now because I thought it was fun, something to look forward to. But my kids 'ave been getting close to the kid ever since they met 'em, I can't let something like this slide anymore."
Freya sighed.
"His soul is clear, it always had been since I first found him, but it's become… Clouded."
Freya looked down to the ground, shaking her head in worry.
"The fog has dissipated heavily since yesterday, but… It's still there, only a blip among others, but a blip nonetheless."
"Others?" Loki asked.
Freya nodded as she spoke. "Yes, he's likely experienced something like this before, I just don't know when, who... or how many."
Finn was curious, this was the first time ever hearing Loki talk about this conversation at Monsterphilia, did Ais know as well? Why hadn't she said anything then?
"Well, what can we do to help him?"
Freya eyed the trickster with a smug look. "Are you getting sentimental already?"
"Hestia didn't deserve that, we, the gods, are responsible for that kid's condition, we need to help fix 'im."
Freya looked on for a moment, gauging her words, and oddly enough, they held no other intent.
'How curious.'
"Well, he'll need to find a new Familia, and mine could be... troublesome in its current state."
Freya thought back to the final minutes of his visit to Folkvangr.
"So you want him to join up with me? Is that it?"
"Well, maybe, but it should ultimately be up to him."
Loki was a bit weirded out at how caring the woman before her was acting. Though, it didn't seem like an act at all.
"Okay then- Who do you think he'd join- What's happening?"
Loki watched as Freya for some reason stood, hurrying over to the large window outside.
"He- He's panicked again, something else is happening!" Freya was full of fear, completely caught off guard by this swing in his soul.
'He's coming this way?! He was coming to her?! Something must have happened?!'
"I need to speak with him when he arrives!"
"The hell's goin on?!" Loki asked as the silver haired beauty quickly ushered her up and towards the door.
"I don't know! But I think I'll be finding out soon!"
The door slammed, Ottar on the other side to go with them and retrieve Bell when he arrived at Babel.
It was a relatively awkward elevator ride.
.
Bell took his first step through the door, still clutching desperately to the paper Miach had handed him miles away now.
Freya had been there at the door, waiting to hug him the moment he arrived. "Bell, what's wrong?!"
He didn't answer, silently forcing his eyes to stay open as tears fought for freedom without wavering.
He lifted his trembling hand, showing her the paper.
When she took it, only a moment passed before she froze as well from shock.
It was real…
His blood could give everlasting life past death.
He could make somebody like him.
He was now the realized vision that deranged ruler had thought up nearly 1,600 years ago… It filled her with fear.
Fear that he'd be taken.
Fear that he'd be used.
Fear that he'd be slaughtered.
She could never let that happen, she wouldn't let it.
Even if she needed to end the world to make sure of it.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Eina was awkwardly sitting in the vast open plane of her mind, she was feeling a little self conscious.
There wasn't much in the void black expanse, only the ground, her chair, and the person sitting opposite of her in another chair.
"So... what's happening again?" Eina asked, earning a sigh from her only company.
"Okay, let's go through this again." The blue haired maiden seemed a little bit annoyed.
'Wait? Annoyed? But that's madness! I mean, she's me… so… God's, am I annoying?!'
Artemis tried to fix her posture, giving Eina a bit more slack given the ramifications if she didn't.
"Okay, so, I am the goddess Artemis, I died in a way that used up my arcanum, and so, I ended up in the reincarnation cycle of Genkai."
Artemis looked to Eina expectantly, this was day three of her explaining the situation to… herself…
The Half-Elf nodded slowly. 'Was this how Bell felt when she explained the Lower Floors?…'
"I then ended up doing just that, being born to your mother, er, our mother."
"When you saw the Pillar go up, our memories flickered for just long enough for the cut off parts to re-enter our soul."
Eina was confused again. "Re-enter?"
The goddess of the hunt nodded. "Traditionally, when a mortal dies, the soul cuts off it's past memories so they can live and grow a normal life. Those memories are eventually compiled together when a soul goes to Tenkai, so it's like that, but instead we're on Genkai."
"O-Okay then…" Eina was just barely keeping up.
"So now, whenever it is that we do wake up, we'll probably go through a few minutes of being all but brain dead, then become a combined soul afterwards."
"T-That sounds a bit-"
"Scary, yes, I'm aware, but if you're like me, which you should be, sugar coating it would have only been worse."
Eina glanced away. "I guess we really do share a soul…"
"Getting back on track. When those few minutes of being brain dead ends, we should have successfully integrated with one another."
Eina seemed worried.
"Relax! It's not like I'm overwriting your mind, or you mine, we're going to be one combined person after this. L-Like, finding a book that's been torn in half, and putting the two sides back together again, the characters are the same, but with restored context."
"..."
Artemis sighed, deciding to try and be a bit more… comforting with this next attempt.
"We'll exist together, know the same things, love the same people, laugh at the same jokes. Life isn't going to feel like it changed, we'll just have a shifted perspective of events from now on. We will be one person, the same person, no if's, and's, or but's about it."
"'We' will become 'I'."
"..."
"Are you sure?" Eina asked nervously.
"Absolutely."
"..."
"..."
"Is there anything else you're worried about?" Artemis asked.
"Um, I don't know all that much- well- anything about you, goddess."
"What do you want to know?"
Eina tapped a finger against her lips.
"What exactly are you a goddess of?"
Artemis once again fixed her posture, looking more dignified after doing so.
"I am the goddess of wild animals, the hunt, and chastity." She emphasized the last one.
Eina felt a small bubble in her stomach. "Ch-Chastity?"
"Mhm. Is there something wrong with that?" Her eyes widened. "Y-You're a virgin right?!" Artemis' voice filled with fear.
Eina flushed but answered quickly. "I'm not that undignified!"
They both simply sat there staring at each other as they slowly calmed down.
"...So, what is wrong with that?" Artemis asked, pouting a bit.
"W-Well, I was hoping to start seeing this boy soon, but our feelings might not align the same after we…"
Artemis slowly began to understand, this was a worst case scenario for her.
"Un-unfortunately, I do as well." The goddess of chastity surprised the half-elf.
"W-What?!"
"Well… O-Orion was the one I was hoping to spend my life with, but… I don't know if he'd accept me while I love another man... '' Artemis sounded worried, but looked up, a question on her mind. "A man, right?"
Eina nodded quickly.
Artemis sighed. "So... Tell me about him."
Eina was a bit shy, only having told this type of stuff in minimal detail to Riveria and Ryuu, but Artemis was going to know this once they merged, so what was there to be embarrassed about.
"H-He's a very kind boy, a good listener, but that might be because of the importance of our typical conversations."
"Importance?" Artemis asked.
"Y-Yes, I'm his dungeon advisor, I tell him how to be careful so he doesn't get… Get killed down there." She seemed to deflate a bit.
"I see, an admirable job at the very least."
"Thank you." Eina was a bit weirded out by the whole situation, but she pressed on.
"I sent him down to the middle levels after he asked for permission, but he didn't come back for days."
Artemis didn't like the sound of this, but it was eerily familiar. 'Why was it familiar, I've been through nothing like this?'
"When he got back, I was overjoyed. But I panicked, said things I meant, but wished I hadn't. And then… then I kissed him."
Artemis was wide eyed, a bit peeved. 'How did the next me get so much further than I did with Orion? This isn't fair!'
"But he's waiting for somebody else." Artemis felt the pain in those words ripping her from her own jealousy.
The goddess thought as her eyes went slightly out of focus. 'Okay, that's new.'
"I just want to help him, I don't care if he doesn't love me the same, he just needs to be happy."
The world around them looked stagnant in it's endless darkness, but it was closing in around them, unnoticed by the pair.
"I just want Bell to be happy."
Artemis stopped. "Bell?"
Eina was looking at Artemis as she reacted to her naming the boy, before her own mind found something strange.
She remembered, there were so few, yet so meaningful moments between them. Between her and Bell.
The chairs had been getting closer at an unnoticeable rate, until Eina and Artemis were touching knees.
They stared into each other's eyes as all thought stopped in the pair.
.
The clinic ceiling filled her sight.
Her eyes began to tear up, as the minds of a lost goddess and a love stricken guild advisor became one.
All she could think about was him.
She smiled, ecstatic that her love had fulfilled his promise.
Though he didn't know it yet.
Bell had found her.
And no matter how long it took.
He had waited.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Fun Fact!
Bell is the only person, outside of a few historians across Genkai, who know of the city of 'Souluse' along with its renowned library of 'all earthly knowledge'. (Library of Alexandria equivalent)
The entire city was razed only a few weeks after Bell had visited it, roughly twenty years before meeting Albert.

A/N
Aye! It's me! Ya boi!
Man! Bell certainly can't catch a break lately, huh.
Hope it turned out okay!
Especially that last part, it was kinda tricky to write, I just couldn't seem to find the right words for it.
To put it simply, they are merging as a person. There won't be two minds inside one head, she will be one person, end of story.
It's gonna mean a slight shift in how I write her, but you'll get used to it, I promise (A.K.A. 'I think').
.
I finally get to explain some of my earliest attempts at foreshadowing! Yay!
.
First off is Hestia's death and him joining Miach Familia.
Back at the end of Chapter 2 (Yes that far back) You may now see some similarities between Trje and Bell's situation.
- Trje's caretaker(Mother) died = Hestia (Bell's goddess) died.
- Trje is taken in by a poor Familia = Bell is taken in by a poor Familia.
.
Eina is Artemis' reincarnation.
- Back in the kiss scene with Eina and Bell…
- "...From where she was to Bell, the light of the window came in just right, illuminating the Emerald green of her eyes making the color appear a brighter tone. The hair of her bangs looked a cooler color in the shade, all coming together to create an image he'd never forget..." -
...The eyes and hair color were meant to appear closer to that of Artemis'.
- During Bell and Eina's follow up conversation, Eina seems to hallucinate being at Artemis' death.
.
I hope at least some of that makes sense, it was my first real attempt at foreshadowing for the long run.
Extra 'Fun Fact', the entire sequence from the start of chapter 2 until the end of chapter 9 was supposed to be… Like… two chapters… Kinda got carried away there…
.
Anyways!
I worked very (Insert confusing and indescriptive word here)on this chapter!
Hope you all enjoyed!
Take care and stay safe this week!
