A/N: Hello, everyone! The poll is going to be open for another week, and that's it. Enjoy the chapter.

Kari felt someone lightly placing a hand on her cheek. "Hey, come on, Kari. Time to wake up now." A voice whispered to her softly.

She let out a groan. "Five more minutes, Doctor." She managed to mumble.

"No, come on. The rescue shuttle will be here in a few minutes, so you're going to have to move." She let out another groan, really not wanting to move. "You can sleep when we get back, promise."

"Hmm, promises promises, Doctor." She muttered, before finally opening her eyes and finding that she was lying down with her head in the Doctor's lap. "So, everyone okay now then?" She asked him, wondering if Sky was all right now that the entity was gone from inside of her head.

The Doctor nodded at her, a smile on his face. "Yeah, and I think there are a few people that want to say something to you." He said, helping her get up.

Once she was on her feet, he led her over to the group of people, all shifting nervously apart from one. The first person to approach her was Sky. "I'm… I'm sorry. And I just want to say… thank you. For… saving me." The woman said meekly.

Kari nodded her head at her. "You're welcome. I know this wasn't your fault, you couldn't stop it." Sky smiled at her, and then went over to a seat and sat down, chewing on the nail of her thumb as she did. "As for the rest of you, you can say sorry all you like, it won't make a blind bit of difference." Kari told them all, watching them cower back from her a little. Except from Jethro, he was just grinning at her. "And you can wipe that smug look of your face as well Mer… Uh, Jethro."

He raised his eyebrows and just smiled at her even more. "You saved us all, Kari. Not just the Doctor and Sky, you saved all of us." He told her, that stupid grin still on his face.

She shrugged her shoulders at him. "No big deal. I have to save the Doctor all the time. Reminds me of someone else really." Kari told him, still not able to shake that feeling that she had met him, she had even almost called him Merlin. "Used to save the life of a royal prat all the time, and he never got any of the recognition for it."

"Well, what can you do, eh? Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them." Jethro said to her, causing her to frown at him.

"Oi, are you quoting Shakespeare to me?" Kari asked him, getting a nod from him in response. "You know, I can't help but feel we've met before." She finally told him.

"Maybe we have. In another life." He told her, before surprising both her and the Doctor by hugging her. "Keep being brilliant, Kari. You live a… magical life."

She pulled away from him quickly and looked at him, studying his every feature. "No… you're not. You can't be… can you? No…" Kari whispered, her face just showing the shock she was in. "You are kidding me."

"I knew I'd find you one day, I knew I'd find you happy." Jethro told her, completely confusing everyone around them. His parents had no idea what he was talking about, and neither did the Doctor.

"But… how is that even possible? I mean, I've never… Oh, my God! Really?" She asked him, starting to get a little excited.

Jethro nodded at her. "Yeah, been a while for me. You know, a few centuries." For some reason he just couldn't stop smiling, but neither could Kari.

"A few? Last I remember was an old man walking around in the early 21st century." Kari told him. "But seriously, you're him? And we meet?" He nodded at her, and it just made her squeal in delight. "I can't wait." She didn't really know what else to say, or how else to react.

"Sorry, either of you want to explain any of this to me? I'm a little confused here." The Doctor said, wondering what the hell was going on.

Kari looked at Jethro, and he just shook his head at her. "Oh, you know, just something in the future, and the past. You know, wibbly wobbly." She told the Doctor, before giving Jethro one last hug.

"Crusader Fifty rescue vehicle coming alongside in three minutes. Repeat, Crusader Fifty vehicle coming alongside in three minutes. Door seals set to automatic. Prepare for boarding. Repeat, prepare for boarding." A voice called through the shuttle.

Once they were on the rescue shuttle, Kari ended up falling back to sleep. It was only when they arrived and everyone else had departed did the Doctor finally bother to wake her up. The moment they saw Donna, she grabbed both of them and hugged them tightly.

"Oh, I was so worried about you both. Are you okay?" Donna asked, hugging Kari just a little bit more than the Doctor.

"We're okay, Donna. Come on, let's just sit down and… relax." Kari said, leading them both over to a table.

"What do you think it was?" Kari's super temp asked once they were settled.

The Doctor looked at Kari, who shrugged her shoulders. She had seen it, in Sky's mind, but she still had no idea what the hell it was. "No idea." He replied, knowing that Kari didn't know either.

"Do you think it's still out there?" Kari shook her head a little. That one had been destroyed, but she knew there could be more out there. The Doctor's face was saying that he believed there were more out there as well. "Well, you'd better tell them. This lot."

The Doctor leaned back in his chair, tugging at Kari so that she was resting against him. "Yeah. They can build a Leisure Palace somewhere else. Let this planet keep on turning round an extonic star, in silence."

Donna just smiled a little. "Can't imagine you without a voice."

"Molto bene."

"Molto bene." Donna said, making Kari instantly freeze up.

The Doctor shook his head and gently ran a hand down Kari's arm. "No, don't do that. Don't. Don't."

"Come on." Kari said, grabbing the hand that was on her arm. "TARDIS please. I want to leave."

Donna didn't even protest, after hearing what had happened, she knew that it was best for them to get out of there. The Doctor told them to pack up and leave, and even Janice, the hostess, had agreed and said that she would deal with it all. Kari knew that she was meant to have died, the same as Sky, but she couldn't do it, she couldn't let it get that far.

"Oh, by the way, Donna, there was something I wanted to ask you." Kari said, as they stood outside of the blue box.

"Go on then, what do you want this time." Donna said, having absolutely no idea of what Kari was about to ask of her.

Kari pulled a face. "Well, if you're going to be like that, I won't ask you to be bridesmaid then. Maybe you're invitation will get lost in the intergalactic mail." She told her, folding her arms across her chest.

Donna just looked at her with wide eyes. "Bridesmaid? Are you getting married? Are you and the Doctor finally getting married?" She asked, clearly full of excitement.

"You know, I'd like to hear the answer to that as well." The Doctor said, standing beside Kari and waiting for her answer.

All Kari could do was smile. "I just spent a wonderful Christmas with Miss Martha Jones. And I got the best Christmas present ever. So, I have one confirmed bridesmaid, but my time travelling family is slightly bigger than that. What do you say then, Donna? Want to be a bridesmaid?"

"Oh, yes! Yes, I will. Oh I'm so happy for you both." Donna cried, hugging Kari and then the Doctor. "Oh, my God. You're getting married. Just please, don't make me wear pink."

"Well, not straight away, and I would never make you wear pink, Donna." Kari told her, as the Doctor unlocked the TARDIS doors. "I think I'm going to make him wait a few more centuries first." She teased, knowing that he wasn't going to have to wait as long as she was. "Oh, I haven't even told my brother yet. He is going to be so annoyed with me." She said, stepping into the blue box.

"Well, you had better go and call him and let him know. Tell him I said hello." The Doctor called to her, as he began running around the console.

Kari had to closer her eyes and take a deep breath, as she felt a pounding begin to build in her head. "Or maybe I will just have to call him later." She whispered.

Donna had been standing right beside her, and had noticed her sudden change. "Kari, you've got a headache, haven't you?" She asked her sadly, causing Kari to nod a little. "Oi, spaceman, come say goodbye to your fiancée. She's about to leave us."

Within a few moments, the Doctor was there, standing in front of Kari. "Hey, I'll see you soon, yeah? Behave, and stay out of trouble." He said, pressing his lips against hers.

"Yeah, and you. Keep him out of trouble, Donna. And Doctor, look after Donna." Kari said, before the pain became too unbearable for her and she clutched a hold of her head. She closed her eyes as the golden swarm engulfed her, and sent her somewhere else.

"Oi, you're late." A voice called to her, as she finally felt the pain start to subside. "You said you'd only be a few minutes, but you've been hours."

Kari lifted her head and looked around her. She was still in the same TARDIS, but it was a different Doctor talking to her. "Well, excuse me for being dragged through the blood time vortex." Kari moaned as she pushed herself up. "I can't control how long I'm gone for."

Suddenly her big-eared Doctor appeared. "Oh, I thought you had only gone to grab your cardigan. Didn't know you had left."

"Maybe you should pay more attention then. I've been gone for hours and you didn't think to go and check up on me? That's very nice of you, Doctor." Kari told him, going into a little sulk. "Where's Rose, anyway?"

The Doctor frowned at her. "Rose? Who's Rose?"

She had to bite her lip at that, she had just made a bit of a mistake. "No one important. Just like me, obviously."

He stopped what he was doing and walked over to where she had decided to sit herself down. "Is my wife in a bad mood today?" He asked, sitting down beside her and kissing the top of her head.

"I'm not your wife, mister. Not yet at least. We only just got engaged a few days ago." She told him, still sulking.

"All right then. So what does my beautiful, brilliant, fiancée want to do today then?" The Doctor asked her, managing to snake an arm around her waist.

She shrugged her shoulders at him. "No idea. What are you currently up to?"

"Well, we were about to go to out for dinner. I told you to go get your cardigan because you kept moaning that it was cold." He told her. "I just though you had gone off on a little sulk. Either that or fallen asleep."

"You know, you could have been a little more concerned. I bet you I was screaming for you, but you were too busy tinkering around with the console to pay any attention." Kari told him, getting a hum from the ship. "See, I was right! Even she's agreeing with me. You were too busy tinkering to notice I still wasn't here."

The Doctor let out a sigh, knowing that she was right. He had once again gotten caught up with his pulling apart and putting back together of the console. "Kari, I'm sorry. I promise to try and pay more attention in the future. Okay?"

Kari just let out a huff of annoyance. "I'll believe it when I see it." She mumbled.

"Oh, come on. Cheer up, we're going out for dinner." The Doctor told her, giving her a little nudge. He just didn't understand why she had to be so grumpy with him. "Kari, I am sorry, okay?" He told her, before gently grabbing her face in his hands. "I am really, really sorry."

Since the Doctor was holding Kari head, she had no option but to watch him as he apologised to her once more. This time she could see that he really did mean it. "Okay." She ended up telling him quietly. "So, uh, where are we going for dinner then?"

"Well, I was thinking of taking you to the finest restaurant in the Ice Caverns of Latless, but you really don't seem in the mood to go out to eat." The Doctor told her, slowly moving his hands from her cheeks. "What can I do to make it up to you?"

She shrugged her shoulders at him, not really knowing what she wanted to do. She was still trying to get over the excitement of realising who Jethro really was, and having Donna accept to be her second bridesmaid. Also, she wasn't really sure what was going on with her leather jacket wearing Doctor, because he didn't know who Rose was yet.

"Well, if you don't fancy dinner, there was something a little interesting that I found earlier. We can go do some investigating and saving planets, if you'd prefer." The Doctor just sat there, looking at her and waiting for an answer.

"Depends." She grumbled, still trying to decide what she wanted to do. "What kind of trouble are we about to get into?"

A smile stretched across the Doctor's face. "Ah, there we go, that's my Kari. Lots of trouble, plenty of running, and a chance of being blown up." He told her, hoping to get her interested in doing something more than just sulking.

"So, dangerous, yeah?"

The Doctor nodded at her. "Oh yeah, completely dangerous. Living plastic trying to take over the Earth. Going to have to blow a few things up. What do you say?"

The moment he had mentioned living plastic, Kari knew where they would be going. She had caught him just before he met Rose, and she was pretty happy about that. "What are we still sitting here for then? Let's going and save the planet. Again." Kari said, yanking the Doctor out of the chair and dashing around the console.

"Oi, what are you playing at? I haven't even told you where we're going yet." The Doctor moaned at her.

"Earth, London, 2005. Department store called Henrick's." Kari said, not even bothering to stop and look at him as she told him exactly where they were going.

The Doctor just shook his head at her. "All knowing power?" He asked.

Kari couldn't help but grin. "Well, obviously. So, come on then, get your little explosive together to blow up the relay device." She called over to him, as she pulled down the final lever and sent them hurling through the time vortex.

The moment the TARDIS had landed, the pair of them charged out of the doors, finding themselves on the roof of the department store. "Ah, no!" Kari shouted. "Basement, we need to go to the basement!" She cried, latching onto the Doctor's hand and dragging him inside.

"Whoa, hold on. Why do we need to go to the basement? What's in the basement?" The Doctor asked her, as she dragged him into the service lift and rapidly hit the button to get to the basement.

"Uh, someone in trouble." Kari told him, wishing the lift would just hurry up already. "A few of the shop window dummies may have came to life and are about to scare the hell out of the shop girl." She explained. "Oh, and they've also killed electrician, Wilson."

"Ah, okay then. Better go and save this shop girl then, hadn't we?" The Doctor said to her, smiling away.

The moment the lift dinged and opened, Kari dragged the Doctor out with her, while her eyes scanned everywhere looking for the blonde haired girl that she knew was down there somewhere. "Right, I've got the joke." They both heard a female voice call. "Who's idea was this? Is it Derek's? Is it? Derek, is this you?"

Kari couldn't help but grin as the dummies started moving closer and closer to the young woman, closer to Rose, until they had her pressed up against the wall. The Doctor looked at Kari and couldn't stop from smiling as well. "Come on, then. Time to save the day." He whispered to her, before pulling her over to the woman. He grabbed the woman's hand just as one of the dummies was about to strike her. "Run." He said, before Kari dragged the pair of them away from the danger zone.

They made it to the lift that they had only moments ago vacated, one of the shop dummies sitting its arm in the door, trying to stop them. "Ha, I don't think so!" Kari cried, before giving the arm a good tug, pulling it off and falling back onto the Doctor.

The woman just looked at her in shock. "You pulled his arm off." She cried, making Kari roll her eyes.

"Yep. Plastic." The Doctor said, helping Kari stand up properly before taking the arm away from her.

"Very clever. Nice trick. Who were they then, students?" She asked, ignoring the grin on Kari's face. "Is this a student thing or what?"

"What makes you think it's students? Why would they do this?" Kari said to her, making sure to keep on smiling.

Rose shrugged at her, not really know what to say. "I don't know."

The Doctor rolled his eyes at her now. "Well, you said it. Why students?" He asked, making sure that the arm wasn't going to cause them any problems.

"'Cos to get that many people dressed up and being silly, they got to be students." Rose decided to explain.

Both the Doctor and Kari smiled. "That makes sense. Well done." The Doctor told her, giving the woman an approving look.

"Thanks."

"They're not students." Kari and the Doctor said at the same time. "And I'm sorry, but Wilson's dead." Kari added, knowing what was going to come from Rose's mouth next.

A moment later they were out of the lift and Kari was dragging the woman away from it while the Doctor worked his magic on it with his sonic screwdriver. "Who are you, then?" Rose asked the pair. "Who's that lot down there? I said, who are they?" She called, realising that neither of them were really paying much attention to her.

Kari nodded to the Doctor, giving him the go ahead to explain it all to her. "They're made of plastic. Living plastic creatures. They're being controlled by a relay device on the roof, which would be a great big problem if I didn't have this." He said, showing her a little explosive that he had knocked together. "So, We're going to go up there and blow them up, and we might well die in the process, but don't worry about us. No, you go home. Go on. Go and have your lovely beans on toast. Don't tell anyone about this, because if you do, you'll get them killed." The Doctor said, before shutting the door and leaving the woman trapped outside.

A moment later, Kari pulled the door open again. "I'm Kari and he's the Doctor. What's your name?"

"Rose."

The Doctor and Kari both smiled at her. "Nice to meet you, Rose. Run for your life!" The Doctor said, before swiftly shutting the door again. "Right, come on then. Back to the roof."

Kari couldn't stop smiling as they rushed back to the roof, planted the explosive, and charged into the TARDIS just in time. "So, what next?" Kari asked him, bouncing around console a little. She already knew what was going to happen next, but she wasn't going to let the Doctor know that.

The Doctor looked over at her and smiled. "Well, that was just the relay. The Nestene Consciousness is here, and I'm guessing it wants the planet." He told her, knowing that they had just started an adventure.

"If that's the case, I guess we had better stop it then, hadn't we? Where would this planet be without us, eh, Doctor?" Kari asked, wandering around the console and just smiling away. She couldn't explain why she was smiling so much, maybe it was because this was the first time she had been with the Doctor in that regeneration without having an argument. At least, there hadn't been any arguments so far.

"Yup. I guess we better get to it then. Need to track down the plastic, and stop it. And if it wasn't for us, this planet would have been blown up centuries ago." He told her, finally catching up with her and giving her a surprising kiss in the cheek. "So, save it one more time then?"

All Kari could do was smile at him. "Yeah, I don't see why not." The good mood that she seemed to be in was hanging around, and Kari was glad of that. She really did hate it when she argued with the Doctor, there was really no need for it all. She knew that she had to forget all that had happened, everything that he had done to make her angry or annoyed with him, and just get on with life.

"Right, shouldn't be too hard. Tracking down some plastic, what could possibly go wrong?" The Doctor asked her, beaming away as he bounced around the console.

"Uh, do you actually want me to answer that question?" Kari asked him, bouncing after him and almost knocking into him. "But first, let's take a quick trip to tomorrow morning. Let's say, the Powell estate." She said, taking over and setting the coordinates.

"Oi, will you stop taking control of everything?" He asked her, swatting her head a little. "I do actually know how to pilot this ship you know."

All Kari could do was smile at him. "Yes, you do know how to pilot her, but you know how to pilot her badly." She said, feeling just a little smug about it all. "She likes it better when I pilot her." A light hum came from the ship, which only made Kari smile some more.

"Oh, I hate it when the pair of you gang up on me. Sometimes I…"

Kari glared at him and put her hand over his mouth, like he did to her on so many occasions. "Think about the next words that were about to leave your mouth. Do you really want to finish that sentence?" She asked him, just knowing that he was going to say something about him liking the silence when she wasn't there or about wishing she didn't know how to fly the TARDIS.

The Doctor just reached over her and pulled the lever, sending them to where Kari had already planned. He reached up and carefully moved her hand away so that he could speak. "So, what was the reason for skipping the rest of the night and going to some council estate?" He asked her, kissing the back of her hand before letting it go.

"Because I have the strangest feeling that someone is going to need our help. So, screwdriver at the ready." Kari said to him, reaching into his leather jacket and pulling it out of his pocket.

He rolled his eyes at her, before swiftly giving her a gentle kiss. "I like it when you're in a good mood."

As always, Kari's cheeks began to turn red. "Oh, shut up and move it." She said, before dragging him over to the door.

It didn't take long for them to search the estate and head up the stairs of a certain block. Kari just stood there and watched as he bent down and inspected a cap flap, before the door to the flat they were standing outside of flew open.

The Doctor quickly stood up and stared at the young blonde from the night before at the shop. "What're you doing here?" He asked her, not even trying to be polite.

"I live here." Rose replied, looking between the Doctor and Kari. It was clear from the look on her face that she had so many questions that she wanted to ask.

"Well, what do you do that for?"

Rose just looked at him as if he were stupid. "Because I do. I'm only at home because someone blew up my job."

Kari rolled her eyes while the Doctor checked his screwdriver. "I must have got the wrong signal. You're not plastic, are you?" He asked, before rapping his knuckled on Rose's head. "No, bonehead. Bye, then." He said, grabbing Kari's hand tightly.

Before either of them had a chance to take even a step away from the flat, Rose had grabbed onto the Doctor's arm. "You two. Inside. Right now." She said, dragging them into her flat.

"Who is it?" A voice that only Kari would know called.

"It's about last night." Rose said, as the three of them walked passed her mothers bedroom. "They're part of the inquiry. Give us ten minutes." She told her, before walking away.

"She deserves compensation." Rose's mother said, sitting on the bed as the Doctor stood at the open doorway, Kari perfectly hidden by the wall.

"Oh, we're talking millions." The Doctor told her, not actually meaning a word of it, but finding it rather amusing all the same.

That was when the older blonde decided to mention the current situation. "I'm in my dressing gown." She said, getting up from where she had been sitting on the edge of her bed.

The Doctor just looked at her, while Kari had to bite her lip to stop herself from laughing yet. "Yes, you are."

"There's a strange man in my bedroom."

"Yes, there is." He replied, wondering where the whole situation was going.

"Well, anything could happen." At that point, Kari burst out laughing, and finally came into view. She had tried so hard not to break out in the giggles, but the whole situation was just too amusing for her.

The Doctor rolled his eyes, as he wrapped his arm around Kari's waist. "No." He told the woman simply, before dragging Kari away from the door. "And you, enough." He told her, before catching her lips with his own. A grin spread across his face as Kari immediately silenced her laughing and starting blushing once more.

"Don't mind the mess." Rose called to them both as they made their way to the living room of the flat. "Do you want a coffee?"

"Might as well, thanks. Just milk for me. Black for the hyena." A moment later the Doctor let out a yelp, as Kari poked him in the side for calling her a hyena.

"We should go to the police." Rose called from the kitchen. "Seriously, the three of us."

Kari just watched the Doctor as he picked up a gossip magazine from the table. "That won't last, he's gay and she's an alien." He said, showing the picture to Kari.

"I'm not blaming you, even if it was just some sort of joke that went wrong." Rose called, busying herself with making the coffee. "They said on the new they'd found a body."

By now the Doctor had skimmed through a book, and had a nose at the post that was sitting on the table, resulting in Kari shoving him in front of the mirror so that he could have a look at those big ears of his. "Ah, could've been worse. Look at the ears."

Kari couldn't help but smirk. "I know, you look like dumbo." She told him, getting a slight frown. "Aww, but you're a little bit cuter than a flying elephant." Kari added, before reaching up and kissing his cheek to make him feel a little bit better. "Now, please, don't touch anything else. Just… behave mister." She whispered to him, knowing that he was going to make a mess of the pack of cards he would find on the table.

"All the same, he was nice. Nice bloke." Rose told them both, referring to Wilson, the man who had unfortunately been killed. "Anyway, if we are going to go to the police, I want to know what I'm saying. I want you to explain everything."

Both Kari and the Doctor turned to look at the street door when they heard the cat flap rattling. "What's that, then?" The Doctor asked. "You got a cat?"

"No." Rose called, before the plastic arm that Kari had pulled off the previous night latched onto the Doctor. Kari was quick to try and pull it off, but not having much luck. "We did have, but now they're just strays. They come in off the estate."

Just as Rose walked in with the hot drinks, the arm turned form the Doctor and wrapped it's fingers around Kari's throats, taking her by surprise. The Doctor's eyes widened and he wasted no time I trying to pry it off her.

"I told Micky to chuck that out." Rose commented, seeing the arm and not knowing the danger. "You're all the same. Give a man a plastic hand. Anyway, I don't even know your name. Doctor, what was it?"

At the mention of the Doctor, Kari was released and the plastic instead turned to Rose. "Oh, for God sake." Kari cried, although her throat was definitely hurting her now.

Both the Doctor and Kari jumped at the arm, doing their best to get it off the blonde. It took a few moments, and the three of them crashing into the glass coffee table and completely smashing it, before the Doctor finally managed to disable it.

"It's all right. I've stopped it. There you go, see? Armless." The Doctor told Rose, tossing it to her before turning to Kari. "You okay?" All she could do was nod at him as she rubbed her throat and neck a little. For a plastic hand, it really did have a good grip. "Time to go."

Rose just stood there as the pair walked out of the flat, hand in hand, and acting as if nothing had happened. "Hold on a minute. You can't just go swanning off."

"Yes we can. Here we are. This is us, swanning off. See you." The Doctor said, tightening his grip on Kari's hand.

"Rude, Doctor. Just rude." Kari whispered to him. She was trying not to talk too much, not when her throat was still sore. She'd let the Doctor sort it out of her once they got back to the TARIDS. Knowing him, he had some magical potion of his hidden away somewhere that would sooth her throat and make her feel better. Either that or a nice cuppa.

"But that arm was moving. It tried to kill me." Rose protested, catching up to the pair.

"Ten out of ten for observation." The Doctor said, causing Kari to roll her eyes.

"You can't just walk away. That's not fair. You've got to tell me what's going on." Kari kept her mouth firmly closed as the Doctor told the blonde that he didn't have to tell her anything. "All right, then. I'll go to the police." Rose said as they finally left the block of flats. "I'll tell everyone. You said, if I did that, I'd get people killed. So, your choice. Tell me, or I'll start talking."

The Doctor snorted a little, as did Kari, who quickly covered it up by giving a little cough. "Is that supposed to sound tough?"

Rose shrugged her shoulders at him. "Sort of."

He shook his head, giving Kari a quick glance just to make sure she was okay. "Doesn't work."

'Who are you?"

"Told you. The Doctor, and this is Kari." He answered, giving Kari's hand a quick squeeze as he said her name.

Rose couldn't stop herself from rolling her eyes. "Yeah, but Doctor what?"

"Just the Doctor." Kari said at the same time as he did. Making him smile at her. He did like it when they both spoke at the same time.

"The Doctor?"

He smiled and waved. "Hello!"

This time it was Rose who snorted. "Is that supposed to sound impressive?" She asked.

Kari grinned. "Sort of." The Doctor replied, seeing the grin on her face.

"Come on, then. You can tell me. I've seen enough. Are you the police?"

The Doctor felt Kari grip his hand a little tighter, as if she could sense what he was going to say next. "No, we were just passing through. We're a long way from home."

"But what have I done wrong?" Rose asked the pair. "How comes those plastic things keep coming after me?"

Kari giggled as the Doctor rolled his eyes. "Oh, suddenly the entire world revolves around you. You were just an accident. You got in the way, that's all."

"It tried to kill me." The young blonde cried at him.

"It was after us." He said, gesturing to himself and Kari. "Not you. Last night, in the shop, we were there, you blundered in, almost ruined the whole thing. This morning, I was tracking it down, it was tracking us down. The only reason it foxed on you is 'cos you've met us." He reasoned.

"So, what you're saying is, the entire world revolved around you." Rose asked him, clearly not impressed with anything that was coming out of his mouth.

"Sort of, yeah. More like the universe revolves around Kari." He said, getting a little nudge from her, telling him to shut up now.

"You're full of it."

Kari nodded at Rose's comment. "Yes, he is. Now, Rose Tyler, do you want to know more about the living plastic?" Kari asked, her throat finally feeling a little better.

"Okay. Start from the beginning. I mean, if we're going to go with the living plastic, and I don't even believe that, but if we do, how did you kill it?" Rose asked them both, waiting for one of them to answer.

"It's thought controlled, the thing that controls it basically projects life into it, the Doctor just cut off the signal, dead." Kari told the woman.

Rose looked stunned for a moment, even the Doctor had to asked if she was all right. "Yeah. So, who's controlling it?"

"Long story." The Doctor and Kari said at the same time, once again leading to them smiling at each other.

Rose gave them a bit of a weird look, obviously finding it strange the way they would say the same thing at the same time. "But what's it all for? I mean, shop window dummies, what's that about?" She wondered. "Is someone trying to take over Britain's shops?"

Both Kari and the Doctor let out a small laugh. "No. It's not a price war. They want to overthrow the human race and destroy you." The Doctor told her. "Do you believe us?"

"No." Rose said quickly.

"But you're still listening." Kari pointed out.

Suddenly the expression on Rose's face turned deadly serious. "Really though, Doctor, Kari. Tell me, who are you both?"

That was when the three of them stopped walking. "Do you know like we were saying about the Earth revolving? It's like when you were a kid. The first time they tell you the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it because everything looks like it's standing still." The Doctor explained. "We can feel it. The turning of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling round the sun at sixty seven thousand miles an hour, and we can feel it. We're falling through space, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go…"

"That's who we are." Kari said, knowing the Doctor had started to drift a little.

"Now, forget us, Rose Tyler. Go home." The Doctor said, before carrying on the walk to the TARDIS, Kari still hanging onto his arm.

The moment they were in the box, the engines began to grind and Kari plonked herself down on the chair. She knew where they were going to end up next, she knew exactly what Rose was going to go and do, and she knew what was going to happen to Mickey. She must have zoned out completely while she was thinking on everything that was going on outside of the box, as she was taken by surprise when a mug of tea was placed in her hands.

Kari just smiled up at the Doctor as he sat down beside her, a mug of tea for himself as well. So far, everything had been going rather well with that Doctor. They hadn't really had any fights, even if she had been slightly annoyed with him for not realising she had been pulled away from him and wasn't just sulking. But when he apologised, she knew that he meant it. She just hoped that everything was going to keep going well with him, because soon enough, she was going to be absolutely rotten to him.

A/N: Well, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, and the little bit with Jethro. Some of you got it right, so well done to you. I've always had this thing about wanting her to meet Merlin, i actually wrote a chapter back in 2012 for it.

Anyway, as I have mentioned, one more week to vote in the poll, so please go and vote if you haven't already.

Apologies for spelling and grammar errors, not on best form for reading today, since I can't find my glasses anywhere. Which is really rather annoying. I've been searching for them for three days already.

Okay, enough of my ramblings. Thank you to everyone who has favourited/followed the story, I'm glad you all like it so much. And all you lovely people who have reviewed, please keep reviewing! I really do love to read them!

Pippa.
