Chapter 27: End of a friendship

Luffy and his former crewmate started talking. It wasn't clear to the rest of them what they were saying, but they did hear Usopp yell, "I have over 8000 men!" Chopper screamed in amazement because he was the only one who believed it wholeheartedly. "Go to your room," Zoro said like a caring big brother.

Luffy charged towards him, ready to launch a punch. But that didn't happen because he stopped when Usopp fell to the ground holding a hand over his mouth as he was coughing blood. "Certain kill: Ketchup star," the former crewmate said with a glare.

"Are you taking pity on your enemy? Flash dial!" he yelled and a bright light blinded Luffy for a moment and Usopp took this chance to shoot his former captain with something very smelly. A few seconds later he shot something else into his mouth causing the young pirate captain to lean back just as he was breathing fire.

Luffy fell onto his back and yelled in pain when he landed on something spiky.

Usopp prepared for another attack.

This time it was a lot of shurikens, they were being fired at Luffy, but he managed to dodge them. He stopped for a moment to catch his breath, however, he started to smell something else.

Suddenly there was a huge explosion where Luffy was standing.

It took Shay every bit of her will not to run over to help Luffy, but not before kicking Usopp to the Red Line.

Once the air cleared they saw Luffy laid on his back with injuries all over.

The young captain quickly got up and ran at Usopp. And just as he was about to hit him, he hit a small ball instead. The wind made Luffy fly back, only for him to get back up and finally punch the long nose in the face. Luffy threw his arms back as he stormed to Usopp and released his attack.

Somehow it didn't affect Usopp at all because the shell from sky island absorbed everything.

The long nose stretched his arm right in front of Luffy's face and returned the impact to him. Usopp screamed in pain, as he realized that he had failed to defeat his opponent because now Luffy towered over his former friend with an angry expression.

He stretched his arm back, "Gomu Gomu no bullet" he said and a fist was shot into his opponent's gut. Usopp was pushed back before slowly falling to the ground.

Shayla closed her eyes as the duel ended. She didn't say anything and let everyone else process what had happened. It must have hurt them very much to lose a member of their crew like that.

She found herself getting emotional too.

Shay had found herself getting comfortable with them and their cheerfulness. How can she not? She had fought battles with them during the day and laughed with them during the nights.

Luffy fell to his knees, "Your stupid bastard! There's no way you could have won!" he screamed. After a few moments, he got up, took his hat, and went in the direction of the ship, "Do whatever you want with the going merry. We'll get a new ship…and we'll go on to the seas ahead" he said and put his hat on his head.

"Goodbye Usopp… it's been fun".

Shayla felt her heart sink, 'This duel happened all because of a ship'. She clearly didn't understand the ship's meaning, but Usopp was still stupid for throwing away friends of a lifetime. He should have known that Luffy wouldn't have made that decision so easily, that it was clearly hard for him too.

Her thought was interrupted by Chopper and Sanji. The small reindeer wanted to help Usopp, but the blond told him, that now that Usopp had lost it would be out of pity if they helped him now.

Luffy stood beside the ship, "Heavy" his voice was shaky and at the edge of tears. "That's the captain's burden. Don't hesitate. If you can't be decisive who can we believe in?" Zoro encouraged, from the ship.

"Let's clear the ship. We can't return to this ship ever again," The swordsman continued.

Chopper used this chance to run to his fallen former friend. Luffy was now fully crying and he tried to hide it with his hat.

She felt like crying too and blamed their pain on Usopp. He was being selfish and didn't even think of the rest of the crew when he decided not only to leave the crew like that but to challenge the captain for an unfixable ship.

The thought only made her angrier.

Shay had to force herself to calm down. It wasn't even about her, to begin with, and here she was getting offended for Luffy. But to be fair that person was her brother, and she would do anything for him.

Shay sighed, 'Even if it meant I had to stay out of it completely'. it was his job as the captain to decide whatever would happen going forward and it was the crew's job to follow him even if it was hard for them to see his reasons.

Her eyes widen in realization, 'So did dad…'.

"It's okay. This is an exception. I have a bad feeling about this" she could still hear his voice echoing in her head.

She had made a big mistake, her father did what was best for the crew and they complained without understanding. 'We couldn't see what the captain saw so we went anyways and by doing so we defied his orders'.

She had to call him with an apology, but she realized it was pretty late now and would call him first thing tomorrow.

Shayla had brought a bag big enough to carry her already limited stuff. She turned around to see a very sad Nami packing as well. Now, the only person that needed to pack the remaining things was Robin…

Wait, where was she anyway?

But Shay noticed that Nami had already started to pack Robin's things too, so she decided to help.

In less than 2 hours everything that belonged to them was moved out of the ship. "Where should we go now?" Chopper asked sadly, "We can check into a hotel for tonight and figure out the rest tomorrow" Shayla suggested, and the pirates agreed.

They found a place and had moved all of their things inside.

Shay didn't feel like sleeping alone and she had a feeling that everyone else had the same thought. So, The crew decided to share a big room. The two females got the bed, while the guys slept on the floor.

As soon as Shayla put her head on the soft pillow, she fell asleep being more tired than she realized.

-x-

Shay woke up really early.

She saw that the sun barely rose, and the others were still resting. She smiled a little at them and got up to get them breakfast when they woke up. They certainly needed that, and she wanted to do something nice for them.

This crew had let her in without hesitation and treated her like a part of their group. It may seem small, but she deeply appreciated it.

Shayla got dressed and went out to get everyone food. She used this chance to call her crew even though they might be sleeping at this time. "Hello," a tired voice answered, "I'm sorry. Did I wake you, Marco," she asked, feeling a little guilty.

"Shay? How are you?" a smile appeared on the snail, "I got this heartache" Shay answered honestly. "What happened?" he sounded more awake now, "I saw Luffy fighting with someone on his crew".

"I'm sorry to hear that, Shay. Are they going to be alright?" Marco asked, "I think so, but only time will tell. I'm getting them something to eat to cheer them up" she smiled.

"I've known you for many years and you have never made anything to cheer us up," Marco said with a clear teasing, "Well, I've always had someone older to cheer me up and so far, it had never happened the other way around," she said softly.

Shay was very grateful to them. They had taken her out to sea after losing her mother. Only to love, care and protect her from that day forward, "Marco…" she started. He hummed as a response, "I love you and want to say thank you for everything you've done for me,"

"I love you too... Wait, are you hurt or dying?" he asked concerned, "No, I'm realizing how lucky I am with you all. I'm always this carefree girl, but I can only be like that when I have people like you having my back" she giggled happily.

"Thanks, Shay. It means a lot" he said lovingly.

"Is dad awake, too?" She asked carefully, "I'll check," Marco said, and she could hear him walking before knocking on a door - dad's door. "I got someone on the line that wants to speak with you" she heard the first commander smile.

"Hello," the captain answered, "Hey dad," she said happily, "Hey treasure. How are you, did you enjoy the sky island," he asked, "It was awesome! Everything was white and flurry then there was this guy to claimed to be god," she said in disbelief.

"Do you believe in God?" her father asked, "Are you drunk, dad? Cause that the only time you ever talk about God and a tribe that used lived up on top of the red line. Which is a story you never really finish" she giggled, "I'll tell you the story when you return" he smiled.

That's when she remembered her reason for the call, "Dad… I'm sorry I left like that" she said sadly, "What's wrong, Shayla" he asked concerned and wondering what brought this change of attitude.

"Yesterday, I saw a fight between a captain and one of his crew. The crewmate didn't see that the captain was doing what's best for the crew and went against his captain's order. He was selfish and didn't see that they were all sad to lose their 'friend' and that he wasn't the only one. In the end, he left while his friend was trying to get him back," tears started to fall.

"We may not have challenged you to a fight, but me and Ace went against your orders. And for that, I'm so sorry," Shayla cried. "Come home, Shayla," Whitebeard said softly, "Is that really... okay? What about Ace and Blackbeard?" she tried to wipe her tears away.

"We'll figure something out together. Just come back to me" Her father said with so much love. Shay was now fully crying again and nodded, "I'll be there soon".

She could feel his warm smile, and it always calmed her down. "Dad will you come pick me up by the Red Line?" she said after getting more control over herself.

"Of course, where are you right now," Whitebeard asked, "I'm pretty close to the Red Line. I'm on an island called, Water 7" Shay informed, "We'll be there in a couple of days as well. We'll meet you at the beginning of the New World" It was Marco this time.

"Great, thank you. I have a couple of things I need to take care of, but I'll see you in a couple of days" she hugged the snail close to her face.

It might not have been them, but it help a tiny bit.

She had missed them very much.

The father and daughter had their farewell while promising to meet up very soon.

The young woman couldn't stop smiling. She felt like dancing and spinning her way through the city.

She found the crew on the rooftop relaxing, "I have something for you guys" she smiled brightly and set the bag with food down between them. Luffy, who was sitting at the roof of an entirely different building didn't look at her. She knew a little trick that would get to him, "Luffy, if you don't come down, I'll eat all the delicious meat" she smirked.

Shay was about to take the biggest piece, but a hand had grabbed it first. She followed the hand and of course, it belong to her brother.

Well, he was at least sitting with them.

"Thanks, Shay" he mumbled between bites.

She took a deep breath, a little nervous to tell them her news like this but Luffy would understand, "I'm leaving" she started without looking at anyone, "Where are you going, Shayla-san?" Sanji calmly asked.

"I-I'm going back to my crew" she finally looked at Luffy with a sad smile on her face. He was looking at her too with an emotional expression and that was one of the few times she didn't know what he was thinking.

"When are you leaving?" he finally asked, "I have to finish drawing this island first, but I was thinking either tonight or tomorrow morning". He looked sad but nodded nonetheless, "Chin up. Once you guys make it to the New World we can meet more often" she was excited at the idea.

"What's the New World?" Zoro suddenly asked since no one knew, "Oh, right. It's what they call the second half of the Grand Line. That sea is on another level, and that's why they call this first half 'paradise'" she laughed.

That made them look at each other.

The door was suddenly pushed open, "Nami, come eat" Shay waved for her, but she was focused on something else. "It's Iceberg, Luffy. He got shot in his own house!" the navigator yelled concerned. He looked shocked, "Old man Ice was…".

"Yeah, he got shot. He's unconscious now" Nami explained. The rest of them just watch the two, "Who is that Nami-san?" Sanji voiced what everyone was thinking. "The guy who took care of us the other day at the shipyard. He's the president of the company and mayor of water seven".

"Wow, he must be an important guy" the blond continued. "It's said to be the biggest catastrophe to ever happen in this city," Nami said. "That guy is respected by so many people. I'll go look" the young captain quickly got up and ran towards the exit, "I'll go, too" Nami yelled after him.

Luffy stopped by the door and looked at his sister, "Don't worry, I won't leave without telling you" Shay reassured. The orange-hair girl looked confused, "Where're you going?", but Luffy took her arm, "I'll tell you on the way" he explained and the two left.

Sanji started cleaning up after them. Soon he and Chopper went out to look for Robin who hasn't come back to the ship at all last night. "Are you coming?" he asked them both. Zoro would stay and Shay shook her head, "I'm going to finish my drawing."

She quickly went back to their room and got her book. Then she jumped from building to building to get to the outer walls like the day before.

The young woman noticed the fighting in the distance and decided to check it out. There she heard her brother yelling, "Damn it! what the hell. At least tell me the reason!"

She saw a group of people was approaching him.

"We are the one who wants a reason" a blond man with goggles glared. She didn't hear what they were saying next, but when the long-nose shipwright from before threw something at Luffy. Shay jumped in front of it and caught it easily.

"Shay?!" Both Luffy and Nami yelled. "I'm not really sure wasn't going on but isn't unethical to attack your customers even if they are pirates," she said to the one she actually met. "Not when the pirates are the ones who shot Iceberg-san" he responded.

Are you accusing us of attacking the mayor?" she asked a little pissed off. "Iceberg said a woman with black hair and a masked person shot Iceberg-san" the blond man yelled this time. "You don't know Robin as we do. So don't talk about her like that" the captain yelled.

He insisted on seeing the mayor, but the shipwright refused.

The civilians were already surrounding them, and a man even grabbed Nami. Shayla shook the ground beneath them, and he almost tripped over as the navigator ran away, "Thanks, Shay" she smiled.

Shay smiled back, but she felt a rope holding her arm. The female pirate just looked at the end of it to see the blond man trying to drag her toward him. He was having a hard time as she held on to it and pulled her arm back.

The blond shipwright came flying towards her and Shayla just kicked him away burning the rope in the process.

"Now, that we know pistols don't work" they now had saws and a bazooka. A very muscle man shot the bazooka at Luffy. He got out of the way and a man with a top hat was about to cut him, again he dodged it.

"Luffy… I can't be the only one fighting" she reminded him, "But I have no reason to fight" he yelled as he ran away. Another man jumped in front of the captain as he wanted to cut him, Shay charged towards him and broke his saws into pieces. "Isn't defending yourself a good a reason to fight?" she tried.

He didn't answer instead he was backed into a wall by the long square nose and stuck there by his pallet-like weapons. The bazooka was shot at him, yet she felt him jump out of the way.

The guy with blue hair flipped over a table, "How many times are you going to make me say it, Galley-La?!" Shayla held a finger at her temple, 'Just what are these guys' problem'.

The guy with a surfer pantie connected a T-shaped tube into his arms. He was saying something about air-bullets as his forearm was getting bigger. Shay ran to him and slide between his legs while he was yelling, "Coup de vent!"

The pressure was amazing, but the weakness was that he was defenseless during his attack. Once he was done, he turned to her. "Girl, good job dodging that," he laughed and was about to do something, but before he could, she jumped up to kick the back of his head into a building.

At that moment Luffy came running and he held on to Nami before stretching his arm to a building, "Shay!" he looked concerned, "I'll be there in a second" she smiled, and he flew up there.

But first, she was curious about something and went to the man she just attacked.

"I'm tapped out" the blue-hair guy said while looking at Luffy disappearing, "Aww, was that all? I had hoped to see more of that" she kicked a stone in disappointment. "Are you still here!" the guy panicked, "So, what are you" she walked closer and closer to him.

He stepped back a little, "As if I'll tell someone from Straw-hat's crew" he yelled, "I'm not a part of their crew" she simply said. "I won't fall for that-" he yelled, "Oh, well. Maybe another time," she said before going after Luffy and Nami.

Shay found them a bit further away. They wanted to go to the Galley-La company and see the mayor. That's when she decided to continue on her way. "See you later, guys" she waved.

She went over to the big wall again and kept drawing.

"This is an announcement. The water seven weather forecast department has officially declared an aqua laguna for the entire island. Repeat officially declared an aqua laguna will arrive sometime around midnight".

Shay looked up, 'What is aqua laguna'. Did it have anything to do with the much stronger wind around this island? It reminded her of whenever her father used his powers to summon a tsunami a strong wind would follow as a warning.

Was a tsunami coming here?

For now, it didn't matter because it was still hours before midnight.

-x-

Shay was about done.

Just the final touch and voila her masterpiece was finally completed. She couldn't really effort to use another day to finish her drawing.

She was definitely happy with the result.

Shayla looked up to the sky and the sun was close to setting. It probably wouldn't be the smartest plan to leave tonight. She took a deep breath and looked at the ocean this time.

It was just so beautiful and breathtaking.

She went back to the others. When she arrived at the hotel people were gathering around it, clearly looking for them. She casually walked up to them and asked them what was going on, "The straw-hat crew are staying here on the hotel and when they get back, we're going to catch them".

"Why I thought you guys did business with pirates?" she wondered. "Normally yes, but they shot Iceberg-san," a man replied, "No they didn't" she answered, "Yes they did. Iceberg-san saw them".

That didn't sound right to her at all.

It did explain why Luffy got attacked early that day.

She kept walking and when she got to a more quiet place she took of her shoes and started walking again. Shayla went in the direction of the place she met them last but came face to face with a big burning house.

She saw people around trying to pull it out, however, Shay twisted her writes while pulling her arms back before shooting water from the canal behind them at the building. In less than a minute everything was out.

The people looked around to see who was responsible for it, but she didn't come forward. Instead, she ran inside and heard people talking upstairs.

She even recognized some of the voices.

Shay jumped up and saw her friends, the shipwrights that attacked them before, and faces she didn't know. "I knew it. You guys are always the center of attention" she walked up to them. Now everyone's eyes were on her, "Shay! What are you during here?"

"I don't really know what's going on. I'm just here to have fun" she looked around and her eyes landed on something huge, "Now, that's an interesting size for a cat" she chuckled.

The four people standing in line looked like, "You guys are government agents" she stated without hesitation, "You're the daughter of Whitebeard. I didn't know this when we met back at the ship" the square nose guy said.

That seemed to shock the few people in the room that didn't know. "Funny, I didn't know you were part of Cipher pol either. But with your clothes now it's even obvious".

"What are you doing on this side of the Grand Line, Hell-Bender?" the big zoan user looked down on her, "Wouldn't you like to know, kitty-cat" she smirked. The nickname seemed to be a sensitive thing because he got very angry.

He charged at her while holding his claws up ready for an attack. Shay was about to do something, but Luffy came and punched him yelling, "Pigeon guy!".

He didn't move that much and was about to poke Luffy. Shay removed the gold from herself and used it as a shield for her brother. The agent's finger didn't go through it, but it made a big bump as he wondered what was going on.

Shayla called it back to herself as she formed it into a hammer and hit him in the jaw. His friends seemed surprised and all three came at her all at once. Probably after realizing she wasn't someone to take lightly.

The one they called Kaku tried to kick her as her senses were telling her to dodge that. She ended up listening to it and leaned back. The square nose hit the wall behind her as it felt like the entire building was falling down.

"Get away from the wall Chopper, Nami!" Zoro yelled behind her. Shay quickly moved her leg back to prevent it from hitting them, but as she did the bull-looking guy came and punched her stomach.

Shay quickly got back up and was ready to kick him back harder. The bull guy just stood there ready to take her attack head-on, 'Well his mistake' she grinned and kicked him hard out of the window.

"She managed to break his iron-body!" the female agent almost screamed. The zoan user came up to her almost impressed, "I guess, Whitebeard made sure his daughter wasn't weak" he said emotionless. "Actually, he didn't want me to fight on his ship. I'm just my father's daughter and my strong will, or as everyone else called it my stubbornness made me an exception " she said.

Her father tried to hide his discomfort, but she knew he would rather not have her fight at all. Aside from her and the nurses there really weren't any women on the crew. There were a few female allies, with their own crews but it wasn't the same.

Shayla thought that there might be a reason for that, but for now, she had to focus on her opponent.

"I won't hold back then," he said in disinterest before transforming into another form. 'Wait, zoans normally have three forms: human, hybrid, and animal form. So, what was this smaller, skinnier form then?'

The pigeon guy as Luffy called him tried to poke her with his fingers as she backed away. She then had her back against the wall, she used the stone ground to her advantage and blew fire at him. He leaned back to avoid it and she kicked a boulder out to hit him.

While he was focused on that she ran towards him but was stopped by his two comrades. They came up while she was distracted and grabbed her from both sides with thorny metal robes. She was about to reform them, but they make sure to be careful while holding her in the process.

After observing her, they must have found something out.

Luffy came from behind to punch him, but it didn't affect him at all. The leopard just grabbed onto his face, "I'll send you off this island" and he threw her brother like a ball through the wall. "Luffy!" everyone screamed.

The two struggled to hold her as she was trying to focus on the robe itself. She almost had it, but her attention was on something else. She saw Zoro getting kicked out too. Shayla used the two to hold herself up as she used the already strong wind to call to blow the two out of the house.

She removed the thing holding her and she had injuries all over her torso. There wasn't time for that now and turned around to see the zoan was already in front as he held his fists together. Shay was about to jump out of the way, but he used his tail to hold her, "Sai Dai Rin: Rokuogan" a powerful wave hit her in the upper body.

Shay fell to her knees. She had trouble breathing but was determined to fight, nonetheless. There he was looking down on her with a smirk, "You did good, Hell-bender. So far nobody had withstood that attack".

She dug her fingers into the hard floor and cracked it open. The leopard guy didn't fall down as she'd hoped instead, he was floating in bit air, "Geppo". She stood up and got ready to kick, "You can't hit me from there" he laughed.

She jumped over to him, in a strong mix of fire and wind hit him out of the mansion. She knew it wouldn't stop him, but it gave her a little time to get herself together.

But for a minute everything was quiet, "I doubt he'll be back" Shay told the remaining people.

"How can you be so sure?" the man in bandages asked, "I doubt there's anything left for him here especially after trying to burn the house down" she reasoned. As soon as she said a bomb rolled into the room and a few seconds later it exploded.

-x-

Shay slowly opened her eyes and saw the burning house. She had cuts and a few small burns over her body, but it was lest of her concerns. She managed to stand as she went over to the ship's navigator who had passed out on the grass. "Nami! Are you alright?!" Shay shook her.

Nami opened her eyes, "Shay, you're bleeding" she saw her shirt was red and torn. "This is nothing" Shay smirked. The men gathered around them, and Shayla pulled Nami behind her.

Before anyone could do anything, the mayor came over to them, "Would you guys leave us for a while. I'd like to talk to them alone". They went away from the other as Iceberg started apologizing for accusing them. He wanted to talk about Robin and asked if her attitude change when she came here.

Nami told him that it did and that she suddenly disappeared. Robin met up with Sanji and Chopper to say that she wasn't going to come back to the ship and her wish won't be granted with them.

Then the mayor explained that he and Robin had the power to destroy the world. She could read the ancient language while he had the blueprint of the weapon Pluton. "You can build Pluton!" Shay yelled.

He seemed surprised that she knew about them, "Sorry, continue".

Iceberg said that Robin had no intention of reviving the weapon but to know the history of it. She wanted her wish granted even if she had to throw away everything. It was a two-part plan. One, she had to arrange an assassination. Two, blame it on them.

The reason she was obeying them was that the government had issued a buster Call. Which was an attack launch by the marine with five vice-admirals and ten warships firing at one target until there was nothing left.

Normally Robin would have run as she did 20 years ago, but it was different now. Her wish was to save the six straw-hats excluding her and Hell-Bender to get off this island safely. She would cooperate with the government even if the weapon was revived and the world destroyed.

Iceberg wanted to shoot her, but he couldn't do it, "Even when I'm about to have the blueprint taken. I've got no right to blame her".

Shay took some time to process this, 'Robin did it to save me too?' even if she wasn't part of the crew, she had people here caring about her.

Nami on the other hand fell to the side, "I'm so glad. So, Robin didn't betray us." The navigator quickly got up and started running, "I have to tell the others. Thanks Iceberg-san". The mayor wondered how they would save her after getting beat.

Nami assured them that Luffy and the other won't die from that especially after finding out what Robin did, their powers would only grow limitless. She went over to the reindeer and chopped him awake. He was happy to know about Robin.

Apparently, the last train would depart at 11 pm with all the government agents. Robin probably would be on board too. No ship could sail after that since the Aqua Laguna will soon hit them. "I'll be easier if I search for Luffy and Zoro with my powers and I know in which direction they flew in. You two can go after Robin" Shay said.

That was when the goggled shipwright told the people to help the pirates. He explained that they weren't responsible for it and that they saved them from the masked guys. "Hey, shameless woman. I'll guide you to the station".

"I'll go ahead," Shay said and was about to leave, "Wait, you'll need a Yagara" the goggled man yelled, but instead of explaining she just jumped in and surfed in the direction the two pirates flew in.

She stopped at a place she thought they would land in. Shay got out of the water to get her already bare feet onto more solid ground.

She walked around, yet so far nothing, and Shay wondered how Nami, and Chopper were during.

Did they make it to the train in time?

Her eyes widen, 'Even if they did... How were they supposed to stop them?'.

Shayla couldn't believe she didn't think of it before. She thought it was better for Robin to see the faces of her crewmate once they came for her, still, it was no excuse for her choice. The worst-case scenario was they won't make it and they have to find a way to go after her.

Or maybe it was not to find Luffy and Zoro.

Hopefully, it won't come to that.

She felt like she has been searching forever. She decided to see if there were any clues from a building's rooftop.

Shay looked out to see and noticed that the water was receding while exposing the seafloor. That meant that the tsunami was coming very soon, but to her, it looked like the city had gotten bigger. The building that was shallowed by the sea long ago was now visible.

Shay shook her head – she had to hurry and find them.

She jumped from rooftop to rooftop, but there was still no sign of them. Where were they? 'They can't just disappear like that' she thought and leaned back against a chimney.

Shay's eyes quickly turned as she removed a few bricks from the side of it.

Soon a face appeared, "Hey Zoro" she smiled happily. He was shocked to see her, "Shay! How did you find me". She didn't answer, instead, she removed the other bricks from the side which caused him to fall back.

Before he fell from the building, Shay caught him. They smiled at each other when something huge overshadowed them. Both of them looked back and saw the tsunami right behind them. Zoro was the first to react.

He grabbed her arm and dragged her along as he ran away. Shay chuckled to herself, she had the power to keep them 'safe' or at least to some degree, but Zoro had apparently forgotten that.

Well, won't interfere for now or until it's called for.

Shay looked back at the wave with admiration. At times like these, it reminded her of her father's terrifying power.

Was this how the enemies felt? She now understood why they were so afraid of him, but it wasn't his devil fruit that made him so notorious. It was his physical strength too. Her father, Whitebeard was literally invincible.

Still, it wasn't his strength that made people gather around him. It was his natural aura, and Luffy was just like that…

"Where's Luffy?!" she yelled as they landed at the middle part of the stairs bridge thingy. Shay looked out and saw him running with Nami towards them. They arrived there but sadly it wasn't safe yet as the wave was about to swallow them.

Shay jumped into action and stopped the water from hitting them. The tsunami hit the stairs hard, and it started to crumble. She was about to do something about it when she felt robes around her pulling her along with everybody else back.

They weren't out of danger yet.

They ran up safely and Shay just used the hard ground to give them the final push.
