Whispers

I do not own Naruto. I do own Yumi, however. Any poems used are mine.

"Kabuto." The raven haired girl stated. Such a simple sentence, but behind it, so much raw emotion. She turned her head so he wouldn't be able to see the relief in her eyes.

"Yumi." He answered in the same manner, adjusting his glasses so that he would not be able to decipher the love and lust shining in his dark eyes. They stood still for a moment, both afraid that, if they moved, the other would be gone. Yumi made the first move, stepping close to him.

"I missed you, Kabuto." She said in a strained whisper.

"Not as much as I missed you, Yumi." He said, enveloping her in his arms at long last. "I almost wasn't able to make it back."

"I'm so glad that you did, because if you hadn't," She sobbed. She hugged him with all her might, and let her tears wet his black tank top. "I wouldn't be able to tell you the news."

"The news?" he quirked an eyebrow. What kind of news could this girl have that could make her shine like he'd never seen her shine before?

"Yes." She said. "But, now I don't know if you'll stick around to find out."

"Yumi, nothing in the world could make me want to leave your side. Ever." He reassured her. She smiled.

"Kabuto, we're going to have a baby." She whispered. He looked at her, first quizzically, then, he turned around slowly.

"We're going to have a baby?" he said. She started to cry.

"If you don't want to, I'll abort—" she started to say.

"You didn't let me finish." He said. "I'm happy. There's no need for you to abort the baby, I'm happy." He reassured her.

"We won't be able to—" she started, but again, he cut her off, finishing her sentence for her.

"Yes, we'll still be able to be ninja, just not for a while after the baby is born and about six months before the baby is born." He said. "And I don't want the bullshit. You will take off nine months, I don't care what you say about that."

"Yes, father." She said jokingly. "I won't go on missions or anything, but you can't make me promise not to train and spar."

"I'll tie you up in ropes for nine months if you don't listen. I'm a doctor."

"Fine." She huffed. "But, in the mean time, you owe me…"

I know, short chapter, but I promise I'll update ASAP.
