A/N: Hello everyone! This chapter goes out to grapejuice101 who helped me to untangle the mess in my head to get this little adventure rolling.

Chapter is a little early, and I know the notifications are going out late on FF. Anyway, please excuse and spelling or grammatical errors, I have a feeling some slipped through the net! Oh well, go and enjoy!

They had been on the ferris wheel, the hover bumper cars, the old style bumper cars at Amy's request and they had been on so many spinning, turn upside down and make you dizzy rides that all four of them were having trouble walking straight.

"Right, what's next?" Amy asked, picking at the rainbow candyfloss that she was holding in her hand. "Didn't you mention something about a parade?"

The Doctor looked down at the watch on his wrist. "Oh, we still have plenty of time before the parade. And then, fireworks." He exclaimed, once again getting a little over excited. "Oh there are so many different things to do, where should we go next?" His eyes wandered to Kari, and the distant look in her eyes.

"Hey, Red, how about we go on that rollercoaster? You know, the one that goes forwards, then backwards, and is completely in the dark?" Jack asked, looking at Amy. At some point he had decided to start calling her red, and for once, Amy didn't seem to mind it.

Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. "Yeah, let's go." She shoved her candyfloss at the Doctor, and took a hold of Jack's arm. "Catch you both later." Amy gave them a little wave, before walking off with Jack, leaving the Doctor and Kari standing there.

"So, looks like it's just us. Anything you fancy doing?" The Doctor asked her. She had still been distant with him, with all of them. Nothing they said would make her smile, and nothing they did could make her laugh. The Doctor was getting desperate now.

He knew that she was thinking, that there was something going on inside that head of hers, but he just didn't know what, and every time he tried to speak to her, she shut off. It was just getting too frustrating for him now, wanting to help her but not knowing how. Jack's words kept swimming in his head, 'give her time', but how much time?

All Kari did was shake her head at him. She didn't really want to be there at all, there was something there that was giving her a bad feeling, a very bad feeling. She hadn't told the Doctor about it, because she didn't really know how he would react to it. It was possible that he would take them all back to the TARDIS and leave, but that would ruin everyone's day, and she didn't want to do that. Or he could do exactly what he done before, ignore her warnings and get into trouble anyway.

Either way, she felt uncomfortable, and even if she wanted to she wouldn't be able to enjoy herself. "I don't care. Whatever you want I suppose." She finally told him, with no enthusiasm in her voice at all. There had been things that she wouldn't have minded doing, such as going on that rollercoaster with Jack and Amy, only it seemed that they were trying to force her to spend time with the Doctor.

He let out a sigh as the pair of them stopped walking. "Kari, we're meant to be having fun. Jack and Amy are off having fun, we should be doing the same thing." The Doctor really didn't know what else to say to her. He was trying to get through to her, but nothing he done seemed to work.

"You might find this fun, but I don't." Kari stated, a frown forming on her face as she looked at the people in the crowd.

"Well, what do you find fun? There has to be something here that you will enjoy." He was close to giving up, in letting Kari go back to the TARDIS and wait there until everyone else was ready. It wasn't what he wanted, but he just didn't know what else to do. Kari was being so awkward, and he really didn't know how to deal with it.

It was then that Kari noticed how stressed the Doctor truly looked. "Doctor, I'm sorry. I know that you're trying to make me happy, but this isn't it. My head… my head is a complete mess." She admitted to him, definitely feeling guilty. "I just want some space, Doctor, to pull myself together. I can't do that when people are constantly hounding me all the time."

The Doctor had to keep it together himself, because it was agony for him to hear her say that. The Kari he knew would always go to him when something was wrong, she was so open and talked to him about everything. But this wasn't the same Kari, and he had to remember that. "Okay. If… if you want to go back to the TARDIS then that's fine." He hadn't wanted to say that, but it was all he could do now. "I'll go and catch up with Jack and Amy, make sure they don't get into too much trouble."

Kari nodded at him, glad that he was going to leave her alone and give her some space. That was all she wanted, and it seemed that he had finally realised that. "Thanks. I'll… I'll catch up with you all later." She told him, standing there and playing with her hands.

It was easy for him to see that she was a little nervous at that point. "Call me if you need anything." He told her, before reaching down and giving her a quick peck on the lips. Kari just nodded at him, and watched as he headed in the direction that the others had gone, although it was at a rather slow pace. To her, it looked like he was reluctant to go.

She wasn't entirely sure she wanted to go back to the TARDIS, she just wanted some space, that was all. It didn't matter to her if she was in the magical ship or wandering around on an unknown planet. Kari was definitely feeling guilt for the way that she was treating the Doctor, the way that she was shutting him out and pushing him away, but in her mind, it was for the best.

Everything had gotten too much for her, there were too many things swimming around in her head and she didn't know how to handle it all. The Doctor didn't understand how hard it was for her, he didn't know that she kept seeing the Master's face everywhere, smirking at her, making her feel nervous and sick. She couldn't tell him either, because that would just make him worry even more, something which she was desperate to avoid.

While she had been standing there, she had seen the face that haunted her more than once, which made her quickly move. Kari had no idea where her feet were taking her, but she didn't particularly care. Time and space, that was what the Doctor could give her, but that was not what he was giving her. She needed to be alone, not to travel through the whole of time and space and explore. It may not have made sense to anyone else, but it made sense to her.

Kari ended up just wandering aimlessly, her eyes downcast most of the time, everyone seemingly keeping out of her path as she didn't once bump into anyone. When she eventually did look up, she realised that she was in a different part of the carnival, somewhere that she hadn't heard the Doctor talking about before, or showing her on the holographic map that he somehow pulled out from his pocket.

It didn't seem as busy as the rest of the place had been, there weren't as many people strolling around, or even many aliens that she didn't recognise. Something felt completely off about everything. She was about to turn around and head back the way that she had came when a voice grabbed her attention. "The Impossible House of Mirrors!" A human looking man shouted. "Come and see, come and look! Find yourself as you walk through the maze!"

She shook her head, ignoring the man's calls. "Find yourself, yeah, course." She mumbled to herself, having no plans whatsoever of going anywhere but back to the TARDIS.

"Pretty girl with the pretty gold hair!" The voice shouted, causing Kari to freeze on the spot. She knew what colour her hair was now, and it was always being described as a golden brown, or just golden. "Come, come! Come take a look! You will enjoy what we have to show you!"

"No thanks." Kari called, wrapping her arms around herself as she walked away.

Her path was blocked and someone appeared in front of her. "Pretty girl, you seem troubled?" It was the man from that house of mirrors, the one who was trying to convince her to see his attraction. "Come, come with me. The mirrors will show you everything."

"Not interested." Kari said, trying to step around him, only the man wasn't going to let her past. "Get out of my way, please." She asked, trying to be polite, to keep calm. Once again he blocked her path. "I said, move!"

The man didn't move, he grabbed a hold of Kari's hand and tugged her towards his house of mirrors. "The mirrors will help you. They will help you clear your mind, to make you see everything. The mirrors will show you everything."

Kari tried to pull herself away from him, to get out of his grip. "Let me go! I don't want to see your stupid mirrors, I want you to leave me alone!" She shouted, her eyes beginning to burn brightly.

All the man could do was smile at her. "You will enjoy this. The mirrors will show you everything you need to know." He told her, before shoving her through a set of mirrored doors. Kari was sure she could hear him laughing manically, but it was quick to fade.

She banged on the door, lamming her fists against it as she shouted for someone to let her out. "Great, just absolutely bloody fantastic." She grumbled to herself, wrapping her arms around herself as she looked around. "Guess I need to find the exit now then." She didn't want to walk through those mirrors, she didn't want to see her reflection, but she had no choice.

After taking a few steps forwards, away from the doors that had stopped her from leaving, she saw a mass of mirrors. They were the type that you expected at a fun fair, causing you to have a big head and a small body, or the one that made it look like you had abnormally long legs. It wasn't interesting to Kari, she didn't want to see it, because she just didn't care.

"She doesn't belong here…" she suddenly heard a voice whisper. "She's never belonged here."

"She doesn't deserve this life. She doesn't deserve him." Another voice said, causing Kari to turn her head sharply.

"Who's there?" She asked, looking around but seeing nothing but herself in the mirrors. "You don't scare me. Trust me, I've had enough happen recently, do you really think that you can scare me that easily?" She was trying to stay confident, to hide all traces of fear, and she was doing a pretty good job of it as well.

She heard giggling, a woman giggling. "Should we? I think we should. She should know."

"Oh, whatever." Kari grumbled, storming pasted the mirrors and further into the place. All she wanted to do was get the hell out of there. She wanted to get back to the TARDIS and just curl up in her bed. She didn't want to be stuck in a place full of mirrors. Yet the path she was walking was quickly blocked, when a mirror swung in front of her, stopping her from going any further. "Oh, come on!" She shouted, whacking her fist against the reflection.

For the first time she actually stopped, and looked at herself. Her hair was looking a little ratty, and she could actually see the dark circles under her eyes. Kari could see that she looked a mess, and now she understood why the Doctor was worried about her so much.

Suddenly what she was looking at changed, and instead of seeing just herself, she could see a man with short blonde hair standing with her, an arm wrapped around her waist. Only she was different, her hair was darker, much like it had been before she met the Doctor, and her eyes were different as well. Kari's eyes seemed to just glaze over as she looked at the mirror, watching and listening, as the figures seemed to suddenly spring to life.

"Can you believe our baby girl is going to be three tomorrow?" The man asked, kissing Kari on the cheek as they both watched the sleeping child. "Six years ago I met the most wonderful woman in the world. Four years ago, she became my wife and made me the happiest man alive."

She giggled, and a smile played on her lips. "You, Mr Harrow, have made me the happiest woman in the world. You have given me everything I have ever wanted. You treated me like I was special, you married me, and you have stood by me through everything. You keep a roof over my head, and you make sure that I never want for anything. We have this amazing house, and a beautiful daughter. Life is perfect." She reached up, her lips meeting his as her hand run through his hair.

A few minutes later, and the pair finally broke apart, both of them smiling. "There's something I need to tell my lovely wife." He said to her, his hands resting on her waist. "This morning, I was called it to see the big man. And you are looking at the newest partner of Harris and Coles."

Kari's eyes widened. "No… you got the promotion?" She asked him, completely and utterly in shock. He smiled at her as he nodded his head. "Oh, my God! That is fantastic! Oh, I knew you would get it!" Kari cried, throwing her arms around his neck as he swung her around a little. "Oh, I am so pleased for you, Bradley."

"So, I was thinking, this promotion comes with a few added benefits." Kari couldn't help but smile as she raised an eyebrow at him. "It does mean that I will be able to spend more time with my amazing family."

She shifted slightly, a nervous look spreading across her face. "Uh, yeah… actually, there's something I need to… I kind of have some news as well." He didn't seemed to like the way she had suddenly turned nervous, and it was making him nervous. "Um, so… the thing is…"

Her gaze had slowly drifted down, and his hand found its way to her chin, lifting her gaze back up. "Karianne, whatever it is, everything will be okay." He whispered to her, brushing her cheek with his thumb.

Kari reached up and lightly took a hold of his hand. "Well, the thing is…" Her hand lowered with his, and stopped when it was at her abdomen. Both hands landed gently on her stomach. "Um, our family is about to get bigger."

His eyes widened, and Kari didn't know if he was going to be upset or happy at the prospect of having another child. She received her answer when he picked her up, and swung her around once more. "Oh, this is the best day ever!" He told her, before placing her back down on her feet. "Our little girl is going to have a little brother or sister. She's going to be a big sister."

"You're… you're okay with this? I… I was worried that…" Kari didn't get a chance to say anything else, as her husband's mouth crashed against hers.

"Karianne, this is fantastic news." He told her when he finally let her breathe again. "We both have everything we've ever wanted. We have our home, we have each other, and soon we will have two wonderful children."

All Kari could do was smile at him. He was right, she had everything she had ever wanted. She had a home, someone who loved her, and she had her little family that was about to get bigger. All her life she had dreamed of that, of finding someone who would love her and stand by her, someone to start a family with. Now she had that.

"This is the life she should have had. The life full of love and happiness." That voice was back, and Kari quickly backed away from the mirror. "Instead, she has this, the life where she is always running, always scared."

"What the hell is going on?" Kari ended up shouting, looking around and trying to find the source of the voice. It was starting to creep her out, but she wouldn't admit to it.

"There's still time. She can still have that life."

Kari shook her head violently. "No, stop it! This is stupid! You're just a voice in my head!" She shouted, covering her ears, forcing her way amongst the mirrors. "I'm not listening to this."

She managed to find a mirror that turned, leading her into another chamber that was just filled with even more. Wherever she looked, Kari saw herself, tired and worn and nothing like the person she remembered seeing what seemed like years ago.

"Why is she running from the life she's always wanted?" Kari done her best to ignore the voice, but it was difficult when it just rang through her head. "She left everything behind, and for what?"

"You. Are. Not. Real." Kari ground out through clenched teeth. As if she really needed something else to worry about, some stupid voice in her head.

"She left her father. She broke him." She felt a pang of guilt, because she had no idea what had happened to her father, of what he thought had happened to her. "If only she knew the truth."

A growl of frustration escaped her lips as she ran a hand through her hair, looking around her and trying to find a way out. But something caught her eye in one of the mirrors, the image of her father, sitting at a table, surrounded by the press, crying.

"Karianne was always quiet. She liked to sit and write stories, to day dream and imagine." Her father said, the tears welling up in his eyes. "She has never done anything wrong, never been in trouble with the police, never made any enemies. I just want her home." There was no one sitting beside him, except for men in uniform, the police.

"Karianne Conner disappeared on the evening of the 23rd of November. She was last seen sitting in her back garden, while her father and his partner at the time were inside the family home. It was after midnight when her father realised that she had not yet returned inside, and went out to check on her. Miss Conner had fallen asleep in the garden on numerous occasions, so her father was not surprised that she was still out there. However, when he reached the garden, he noticed the candle still burning on the table, but no sign of his daughter." As the man spoke, her father sobbed quietly. "Her mobile phone and music player were both sitting on the table, but she was missing, along with her laptop."

"I just… I just want my daughter back. I want her home." Kari's father cried in anguish. "Please, give me back my daughter." He broke down once more, and a member from the press actually got up and went to comfort the man, since no one else was willing to do so.

After a few moments of letting him calm down, the man in charge started speaking again. "Karianne Conner is 26 years of age, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a long burgundy coat and scarf. We are urging anyone with any information to either contact us directly or to call the anonymous hotline." With that, the man stood up, and people began shouting questions as camera lights flashed all around the room.

Kari's father was utterly distraught. He couldn't contain his crying, he just couldn't control it. His whole body was shaking as he was lead from the room, his eyes red and raw from the amount of tears that he had shed. His only child, his daughter, was missing. No one had heard anything from her, no one had seen her, and no one could explain why she would just disappear like that.

The police had checked her bank accounts, and her money hadn't been touched. They checked the local CCTV, and she wasn't on it. It was as if she had just vanished off the face of the Earth. He didn't want to think the worst, he didn't want to believe that she was dead. In all honesty, he didn't really know what to believe.

"Daddy is heartbroken. His only daughter left him, left him all alone. He doesn't have anything left now."

Kari quickly turned away from the mirror that had decided to show her the images of her father. "You really think that is going to get to me?" She said with a scoff. But it had gotten to her, it had really gotten to her. She had always wondered what her father would have gone through, but she had never expected him to be in such a mess.

"She can still go back. It doesn't have to be this way. She can go back to her father, she can mend his broken heart. She can have everything she has always wanted." Kari was seriously getting fed up with that voice now, because she was starting to actually listen to it.

Instead of just standing there, she quickly pushed at all of the mirrors, until she finally found one that moved. Her feet quickly took her through it, her chest pounding much more than she would have liked. Kari leaned against it, trying her best to calm down her breathing. To say she was getting freaked out was putting it mildly.

"Maybe it would have been better if I just stayed with the Doctor." Kari ended up groaning, lightly knocking her head against the mirror behind her. "I don't need this. I really do not need this."

"She needs to go back home. She needs to go back to where she belongs. She doesn't belong here, she doesn't fit in here. No one wants her here. Does she really think that he will ever give her what she wants?" That stupid voice called to her. All she wanted was for it to shut up and leave her alone. "I know what she wants. We all know, but she will never get it."

Kari done her best to keep herself together, and not let those words get to her. "You don't know what I want, you're not even real." She still didn't know who was talking, and her fear was starting to rise. "You're just a stupid little voice in my head. "You're not real."

There was giggling coming from all around her, everywhere, from every single mirror. "Show her, let's show her what we know. We know what she wants, we know she will never get it here."

By now she had completely had enough, and Kari was once again trying to find her way out of the mirrors. She groaned as she pushed on them, none of them moving. "Come on, let me out of here." She mumbled, still pushing and shoving and trying to find an escape.

"Take a look. She wants this, but she can never have this." That was when Kari's eyes were drawn to the largest mirror in the room. Everything that she had seen already had really messed with her head, which was the last thing that she needed. Yes, she did feel guilty about leaving her father, about having absolutely no idea how he was coping or what he thought had happened to her. She was scared of what she was going to see next.

She was comfy, snuggled up in bed with a warm body beside her. There was a familiar scent coming from the person next to her, and she let out a slight grumble as she felt a pair of arms wrap around her more tightly.

The sound of the door being slowly opened flittered to her ears, and the light noise of someone creeping over to the bed. Kari wanted to open her eyes a crack to see who it was, but she really didn't want to, she didn't want to move.

Suddenly something landed right on top of her and the other body. There was some soft giggling as the lump tried to worm its way in between the two. "If we ignore him, he'll give up and go somewhere else." A familiar voice called into Kari's head.

"He's your son, of course he isn't going to just give up and go somewhere else." She replied, wanting to just snuggled down deeper and go back to sleep.

"He's your son as well you know."

Kari tried her best not to smile as the lump of a child started jumping on the bed. "I told you he wouldn't give up so easily, Doctor." She told him, before the child jumped and landed on the man beside her, completely knocking the wind out of him.

"Are you awake now then, dad?" The little boy asked, sitting quite comfortably on his father's chest, making himself weigh as much as he possibly could.

The Doctor let out a groan. "You've been taking lessons from your mother, haven't you?" He asked, moving his arms from around Kari and reaching out of the boy. "Go back to bed, it's too early." He pulled the boy down and onto the bed, all three of them snuggling down together.

"Too early? It's never too early!" The boy cried, trying to pull himself away from his father. "And anyway, Millie is hungry."

"She isn't even awake yet." The Doctor informed him, looking over at Kari and seeing that she was trying her hardest not to laugh at them both.

The boy huffed a little. "She will be in a few minutes, and she is going to want her breakfast."

"Hmm, and how do you know this?"

"Because I'm her big brother, I know stuff." He said, trying to look all big and tough. The moment he said that, a gurgling sound came from the crib over to the side of the bed where Kari was still laying. "See, I told you. Millie wants her breakfast."

Kari let out a soft laugh as she tossed the covers away from herself, making sure to cover up her little boy as she did. "Do you two plan when to wake up?" Kari asked, leaning over the crib and smiling at the baby girl that was gazing back up at her. "Do you have secret conversations and plot against me and daddy?"

The little girl just smiled and gurgled some more, her tiny hands reaching up, begging for Kari to pick her up. Straight away she reached down and picked the tiny form up, holding her gently in her arms. She sat back down on the bed, baby in her arms.

"See, I told you it would work, Millie." Kari's son said, smiling at his baby sister. "We got both of them up before they wanted to get up." It was clear that he was rather proud of what he had accomplished.

"Right, come on you. Let's leave mummy and Amelia alone to get dressed." The Doctor said, finally getting himself out of the bed. "We need to go and get ourselves ready, we got a big day today." He announced, taking a hold of his sons hand.

He looked at his father in confusion, before looking to his mother. Neither of them said anything to him, neither of them gave anything away. "Why? What are we doing today?" It was clear to see that he was curious.

"Ah, you're going to have to wait and see, Jackie boy." The Doctor said, ruffling the boy's messy brown hair.

Straight away his hands flew to his head and began to flatten down his hair. "My name isn't Jackie. It's Jack." The boy grumbled.

Kari couldn't help but laugh a little at the way he had rushed to fix his head. "Jack, go and help your father get dressed. I do not want to see a fez!" She told them both rather sternly. "No fez, or stetson. Smart and sensible. Is that understood?"

Jack nodded at her while the Doctor let out a groan. "Aw, please? Fezzes are cool."

Kari just shook her head at him. "Nope, not going to work. Now got and get ready, I still need to give our little Millie her breakfast as well as get us both dressed."

"If you tell me where we are going, then I can make sure that he dresses properly." Jack asked, an innocent smile on his face.

She narrowed her eyes at him slightly. "Hmm, you've been taking notes from your father, haven't you? I never used to fall for his tricks, and I am certainly not going to fall for yours, young man. Now, get a move on, we haven't going all day."

Jack let out a groan. "We have a time machine, we have all the time in the universe."

The Doctor couldn't help but let out a laugh. "Yes, but she's a woman." He told his son quietly. "Time has a completely different meaning to a woman, especially your mother. Never disagree with the laws of time according to Kari."

"Yes, and don't you forget that." Kari said, getting up from the bed with her baby in her arms. "Now, give us a kiss and then go get ready." She bent down and Jack threw his arms around her neck, being careful of the baby that was in her arms, and kissed her on the cheek.

He then looked to his little sister. "Good morning, Amelia Sarah-Jane." He said, giving her a kiss on the top of her tiny head. The little baby just giggled and gurgled madly at him.

When Kari stood up, the Doctor was smiling at her. "Good morning my beautiful little Amelia." He said, kissing his daughter lightly. "And good morning to my beautiful, brilliant wife." The Doctor said softly, before planting a kiss on Kari's lips.

In the background, Jack was making gagging noises, yet there was a smile on his face. Little Amelia was just gurgling away, happy as anything in her mother's arms. "Now, please go and get ready." Kari said when the Doctor finally let her breathe once more. "I really don't want to be running late today."

The Doctor nodded at her. "We're going, aren't we Jack?" Her son nodded at her. "We'll see you in a bit." And with that, both of her boys left the room. She was sure she heard the Doctor issue their son a challenge, and the sound of running footsteps the moment they were outside of the door.

Kari just shook her head. "Oh, Amelia, we are we going to do with them?" She asked, bouncing her on her hip. "I do hope you're going to be the sane one in the family, because your father is a mad man with a box, I'm the woman that married the mad man with a box, and your brother… well, he takes after his father."

Amelia just smiled, still gurgling and giggle. All Kari could do was smile at her, at her little baby girl. She had her perfect little family, she had the Doctor, they had their children, and they had the TARDIS. But that wasn't all, her world was even more perfect than that.

A short while later, and the four of them were in the console room. Amelia was strapped down securely in the seat by the console, Jack strapped down next to her. "Where are we going?" Jack shouted, still having no idea where they were going. He was all dressed up, smart trousers and a shirt. Little Amelia was in a pretty little dress, and Kari was wearing a lovely dress as well.

"You'll find out when we get there. Now be patient." The Doctor called, as he darted around the console. "We all strapped in and ready to go?" Kari quickly checked on the children, before giving the Doctor a nod. A moment later and they were flying through the time vortex.

The moments continued to pass, and eventually there was a thump, and everything stilled. "Right, we're here." The Doctor announced, helping Jack out of his restraints while Kari worked on getting Amelia out.

"Are you going to tell us where we are yet?" Jack asked once more, now helping his mother while the Doctor ran around the console some more.

"It's a surprise!" Was all that the Doctor shouted at him.

Jack let out a groan. "I don't like surprises, surprises are dangerous." Kari couldn't help but chuckle at his words, her words. She used to tell the Doctor that all the time, and now their son was saying it.

"Well, it doesn't matter." Kari said, finally standing up with Amelia in her arms. "You're going to find out in a moment anyway. Can you grab Amelia's…" She didn't get to finish what she was saying, as Jack already had the changing bag over his shoulder. "You are a little star, Jack." She told him, leaning down and giving him a kiss on the cheek.

The Doctor was just standing there, smiling at his family. He finally had a family, and he thought it was just as perfect as Kari did. They had both been through so much, but they had made it through everything, and they were stronger now because of it. "Come on, you lot, we haven't got time to stand around. We have people to go and see."

Kari balanced Amelia on her hip, taking a hold of Jack's had as well. The Doctor took hold of his son's other hand, before putting his free hand on the latch to the TARDIS. They were all smiling, and it was easy to see that Jack was full of excitement.

The Doctor turned the latch, and opened the door, a smile on his face as he let his family out. There were two people standing there, beaming away at them. The moment the young boy saw them, his eyes lit up. "Uncle Jack! Auntie River!" He cried, before pulling away from his parents and rushing over to them.

"How you doing, little man?" Kari's big brother Jack asked him as he picked the lad up.

"Well, daddy say's I'm turning into mummy. Mummy says I'm turning into daddy, but I want to be just like you." The boy's words just made Jack smile even more.

He put the boy down and watched him as he went and hugged his auntie River. "So, how's my Princess doing these days?" He asked, walking over to Kari.

Kari smiled at him as she gave him a one armed hug. "I'm okay, Jack."

"Uh, yeah, actually, I was talking to this little Princess." He said, pointing to Amelia. "Come here my little Princess." Jack reached out and took baby Amelia away from Kari, allowing her to move more freely. "Oh, I almost forgot!" He said, before leaning over and giving Kari a quick kiss on the cheek. "How you doing, Kari?"

"I'm good, we all are. How have you two been?" She asked, glancing over at River who was whispering something to little Jack.

"Oh, you know, same as always. Fighting aliens, defending the Earth. Nothing much." There was a smirk on his face as he said that, causing her to think that there was something more going on that he had yet to tell her.

The Doctor soon appeared at her side, wrapping his arm around her waist. "Enjoying married life then, Jack?"

Jack just rolled his eyes as Amelia gripping his finger tightly. "Well she's a handful, I can tell you that much. But it's great."

After little Jack had calmed down, the group took a little wander and ended up sitting in the park, a picnic lay out before them. "You're hiding something." Kari said, narrowing her eyes and looking at River carefully. Something was going on, she knew it, she just didn't know what it was.

River simply smiled at her. "You know me, Darling, I'm always up to something."

Kari just kept on studying her, trying to work out what was going on. River just seemed to be glowing, she couldn't stop smiling and there was a twinkle in her eyes. Jack was sitting with his arm around her, a smile on his face as well. That was when it clicked. "Oh, my God! You're…"

Jack's eyes widened at her in surprise. "How… how did you…"

She scoffed slightly. "Please, I know River, and I know you. Plus, that look on her face, I recognise it, it was the same look I had when we found out about Jack, and Amelia."

The Doctor looked between the three of them, a slightly confused look on his face. "Wait, what? What are you talking about?"

Before anyone could answer him, little Jack had opened his mouth. "Auntie River is going to have a baby. I'm going to have a baby cousin."

The shock soon settled in, and eventually passed. Something that both Kari and the Doctor never thought would happen, had happened. They had a happy and wonderful family. It wasn't just their own children, it was Kari's big brother and his life as well. Everything was just perfect, everything that both of them had ever dreamed of.
