Hannah's POV
We are on our way back into town. Everyone who is left convenes in the Tavern where I met John.
Everyone takes seats and are talking amongst themselves. before long, Shaun and Pete come through the door. John stands up, "Pete, Shaun, glad to see you boys. Is everyone ok?"
Shaun speaks up, "Everyone made it to the church, no deaths, how about you guys?"
John goes to the front of the room, "I need a head count."
A man stands up and walks around noting who isn't there. He goes up front, I'm close enough to hear what he says. "5 people unaccounted for. Davey, Kat, Matthew, Paul, and Joseph."
John nods, "Take a couple out and go and see if you can find them. Ill go and tell their families what happened." He stands up to address everyone else, "We have suffered some losses, But we owe it to those who aren't here to keep going. Come on, let's get all those fine people in the church back home."
I go up to him, "I need to talk to you." He takes me to the side a few steps and he motions for me to talk. "I think I can help you. With the Brotherhood, I had many jobs, one of which was to decrypt hardcore industrial systems. It has been a while, but I think I can get through if I can get inside."
He nods, "That's a big-ass If. How do you think you're going to get in?
I continue, "All I need is a small team of guys who know their way around a gun. they get me through the facility and I crack the Terminal."
He looks down. "Look, I know you want to help. but I don't want to risk anyone else's life for this mission. especially not one of my own."
I look at him confused, "If we don't do this, even more people could die."
The room gets quiet and John Whispers, "As soon as your friend is well, I think it is best that you leave."
I get up and leave quietly, but it is obvious that I'm not happy.
I head into the makeshift hospital to see Brian sitting up on the bed. I smile, "Hey Brian. Feeling better?"
He nods, "Loads, How did it go out there?"
I smirk, "oh you know, I was a total hero."
He chuckles, "That so? well, Mrs. hero, I can move pretty well now if you're about ready to move on out of here." I look down twiddling my thumbs and he looks at me this time with a straight face. "Everything alright?"
A couple of guys walk up to us, "Hey, were you telling the truth when you said that you could decrypt hardcore software?"
I nod lightly. "Yes. that's correct."
The guys nod and say, come on, we can get you in if you can shut those bastards down.
I nod without hesitation. "Alright, we wait until the cover of night, and we go."
